All Collectible Locations
There are 107 Collectibles Locations in Until Dawn – 30 Totems and 77 Clues.
The clues are divided into 3 categories:
The Twins: 20 Clues
1952: 27 Clues
The Mystery Man: 30 Clues
The Totems are divided into 5 categories (6 pieces per category): Death, Guidance, Loss, Danger, Fortune.
Finding all of them will unlock 4 gold trophies:
You Opened Their Eyes
The Fateful Descent
The Tale of Two Sisters
Night of the Totem Hunter
VERY IMPORTANT: Certain Story choices have an impact on Collectibles. If you make wrong choices you will miss some collectibles. Furthermore, you are not allowed to let Jess or Matt die, they are needed to get one of the totems in episode 10. Below is a list of decisions you have to make:
- Episode 1: Do not shoot the Squirrel at the shooting range with Chris! If you do, Sam cannot escape the maniac in episode 5 and will miss the last mystery man collectibles in episode 7.
- Episode 5: Sam needs to escape the maniac to find the collectibles in the maniac’s hideout at the start of episode 7. Hide with her in the elevator (see end of episode 5 collectible video).
- Episode 7: At the very end of this episode you must choose to hide with Emily when the flamethrower guy chases you (don’t turn back).
- Episode 10: Jess or Matt (or both) need to be alive to pick up one of the totems in the mines. To save Jess you must always use risky paths while chasing after her with Mike in episode 4. To save Matt you should not attack the deer and not help Emily (jump away from Emily) in episode 6.
You can also pick up missing items via episode select after beating the story. Episode select allows you to go back and change your decisions. You can also use episode select to save characters from dying, but will have to replay all episodes from that point on.
The Twins clues are required to make Josh survive in the end. Without them he will always die.
There’s also a collectible tracker in the main menu. Each collectible has its own number and name, so they are very easy to keep track of. Whenever you pick up an object your progress will be saved automatically.
Amount of Collectibles per Episode:
Prologue = 1
Episode 1 = 2
Episode 2 = 18 (*20 if you have pre-order DLC, not needed for the trophy).
Episode 3 = 10
Episode 4 = 3
Episode 5 = 22
Episode 6 = 10
Episode 7 = 18
Episode 8 = 8
Episode 9 = 9
Episode 10 = 6
Please note that the pre-order DLC adds 2 new clues to episode 2 “The Mystery Man #31” & “The Mystery Man #32”. These are NOT required for unlocking the trophy are a NOT included in the video guides (because the DLC wasn’t released at the time of capturing). There’s a note about them in episode 2 below, but feel free to skip these two clues.

Best Ending – Everyone Lives
All eight friends survived until dawn
To get the best / good game ending in Until Dawn all characters must be alive at the end of the story. There’s a secret scene at the very end.
This ending unlocks the following trophies:
The Quicker Man
They All Live
Four Daughters Of Darkness
Don’t Scare Jessica To Death
Josh: Find the “The Twins” clues so that he will recognize his sister’s tattoo. Don’t worry when he dies during the saw blade scene in episode 4, this doesn’t matter.
Jessica: After she gets dragged out of the cabin, Mike must catch up to her as quickly as possible. Always use the riskiest paths and slide down the hill at the end. You won’t hear from Jessica until Episode 9 in the mines. Always hide with her when given the choice, do not try to run away from your attackers.
Matt: To save Matt you should not attack the deer and avoid helping Emily when she’s hanging off the tower (jump away from her instead). Later in the mines you should always hide together with Jessica when given the choice. Don’t run away from your attackers.
Emily: Don’t mess up her QTEs and don’t shoot her in the episode 8 safe room.
Ashley: When you must choose between her and Josh (saw blades), choose to sacrifice Josh. Later in episode 9 don’t investigate the noise in the mines with her. Stay with the rest of the group.
Chris: When he gets the gun and is told to either kill himself or shoot Ashley with it, you must choose to shoot yourself (the gun only fires blanks, so you’ll be safe). Don’t even aim at Ashley. Then Ashley will open the door for him when he gets chased by the Wendigo in episode 8. Don’t mess up his QTEs during chapter 8.
Sam: Cannot die until the final set of cutscenes. Just complete all her QTEs at the end of episode 10 without making a mistake.
Mike: Cannot die until the final set of cutscenes. Just complete all his QTEs at the end of episode 10 without making a mistake. When Sam has to choice to either hit the light switch or help Mike (end of episode 10) you must choose to help Mike.
Please note that Hannah and Beth will always die at the start of the game. So will the flamethrower guy in episode 8. There is no way to save these characters and they have no impact on the ending or the trophy. Furthermore, it doesn’t matter whether you save the wolf with Mike or not.
Worst Ending – Everyone Dies
Nobody survived until dawn
To get the worst / bad game ending in Until Dawn all characters must be dead at the end of the story. During the credits you can see how they died.
This ending unlocks the “This Is THE End” trophy. Simply fail all possible QTEs with every character and you should get this ending easily. Two of the characters (Sam and Mike) will always survive until the final set of cutscenes in episode 10. Mess up their QTEs too and they will die.

The videos seem to be missing the location of 1952 clue #18!
PowerPyx says
It’s in the Episode 8 video at 2:00 minutes.
I can guarantee you will never see a PowerPyx video with missing collectibles. In the 9 years I’ve been doing this I never put out an incorrect collectible video 🙂
The timelines in the video descriptions list all of the collectibles.

My mistake!

All i know is powerpyx is the best at what he does. I can’t thank you enough for all the help you have giving me over the years of gaming. Led me to many many platinum trophies including this game.
ROBin says
This has been so helpful Powerpyx.
Much appreciated.
I ended up having to do it in 4 playthroughs though, well episode select from 4 onwards most of the time. (Forgot some totems)
Think they’ll ever do anything else with until DAWN?
VR RUSH OF BLOOD is good, but it’s very arcade like.
PowerPyx says
I sure hope they do. It was a very unique experience.

Great guide, hope they make another Until Dawn. Had heard not long after Until Dawn released they was, but haven’t heard anything recent.
