Found all collectibles
There are a total of 141 collectibles in The Last of Us. 85 Artifacts, 30 Firefly Pendants, 12 Training Manuals, 14 Comic Books. Finding all of them will earn you five trophies:
Look for the Light [Silver]
Endure and Survive [Bronze]
It was all just lying there [Silver]
I got this [Bronze]
Scavenger [Gold]

The game has 12 chapters. All of them (except for the prologue) do have collectibles. You can keep track of your total progress in the “Collectibles” section of the Bonus Menu, or by pressing the select-button while playing. After beating the game for the first time, you can also see in chapter select how many collectibles of each type you have found per chapter. You have to reach the next checkpoint after finding a collectible! Otherwise, the progress will be lost. You have to collect it again if you die.
All your collectible progress carries over to New Game+. You can also get missing items through chapter select.

Note: Some collectibles are placed in your inventory automatically and cannot be missed. These are not included in the video counter (because they do not have their own location in the game world).

Master of Unlocking
Unlock all shiv doors
There are 13 shiv doors in The Last of Us. Each door requires a shiv to be opened. You can craft these things anytime, any place. Just try to keep 1-2 in your inventory at all times. In the main menu under Bonuses – Statistics you can see how many you’ve already opened. However, there is no way to tell which ones you are missing. So try to get them in correct order. This can be done over multiple runs. Your statistics carry over to New Game+. You can also get the trophy via chapter select after beating the game. The checkpoint is displayed in the top left corner of the video.

That’s all I got
Survive all of Ellie’s Jokes
There are a total of 5 jokes. Four of them are in chapter 5 (Pittsburgh) and one is in chapter 6 (The Suburbs). There is no progress tracker for the jokes. So make sure to get them in correct order. You can also do this via chapter select. For example: after listening to all jokes in chapter 5 you proceed to the next checkpoint (where some enemies spawn) and go back to the main menu where you load the suburbs area.
Always clear the shown areas of enemies and wait a minute until Ellie takes out her Joke Book. Sometimes you need to do a series of other actions to initiate a conversation with Ellie.

Here’s how to make Ellie tell all her jokes:

#1 (0:05) – Pittsburgh “Alone and Forsaken”
Clear the area of enemies before climbing over the bus. Now wait in front of the bus until Ellie gets her Joke Book.

#2 (1:44) – Pittsburgh “Alone and Forsaken”
Kill all enemies in the bookstore and stand around for a while.

#3 (3:19) – Pittsburgh “Alone and Forsaken”
Turn around when reaching the flooded street. Look for a poster of a model behind a window. Look at it and talk to Ellie. Now keep waiting in this area until Ellie stops walking.

#4 (5:15) – Pittsburgh “Hotel Lobby”
After entering the Hotel you need to climb up a ladder. Get the artifact in this area and open the safe downstairs. Go back up the ladder and Ellie will start telling you more jokes.

#5 (7:05) – The Suburbs “Suburbs”
When reaching the suburbs, check out the broken house on the right. Wait in the kitchen and listen to the dialogue. Go to the other side of the street and look at the “I’m Armed” writing. Now go to the ice cream truck. Keep going down the street and check out the red symbol on a wall. Wait at this spot until Ellie tells her last few jokes.

I want to talk about it
Engage in all optional conversations
There are 37 optional conversations in The Last of Us. Listening to all of them will earn you the “I want to talk about it” silver trophy. To trigger them you usually need to look at a certain object for a while. The triangle button must then be pressed to initiate the conversation. There are lots of other conversations in the game that do not count towards this trophy! The shown 37 conversations are the only ones that are needed to obtain the trophy.
You can also do this via chapter select. After listening to a conversation it will be saved immediately. There is no need to reach the next checkpoint. You can quit out to the main menu immediately and select a new chapter.
There is no way to see which conversations you have already completed. So make sure to do them in correct order! In the statistics section of the bonus menu you can only keep track of how many you have in total. Once it shows 37 conversations you should get the trophy.

For emergencies only
Fully upgrade all weapons
There are 5 tools in The Last of Us. Finding all of them is necessary to upgrade your weapons. They are also a requirement for the “For emergencies only” gold trophy. Only finding the toolboxes won’t earn you the trophy though. You still got to upgrade every weapon in the game (can be done at workbenches).
The tools have fixed locations and must be picked up in correct order during one playthrough. They do carry over to New Game+. Getting them via chapter select won’t help with the upgrades or trophy!

#1 – Bill’s Town (Graveyard) – 0:05
The first tool is in the very beginning of the Graveyard section, in the cellar where Bill shows you his selfmade Bomb.

#2 – Pittsburgh (Alone and Forsaken) – 0:30
The next toolbox is in the garage you enter in the beginning of the fifth chapter. It’s right after you need to press Triangle to open the garage door.

#3 – The Suburbs (Sewers) – 0:52
This tool is after the area where you need to swim and get a wooden plank for Ellie. After activating the generator, Henry will help you out of the water. Now look in a side room on the left to find this toolbox on the ground.

#4 – The University (Science Building) – 1:25
This tool is located on the first floor of the science building. At the end of the corridor is a shiv door. You might need to craft a shiv first. Open the door and you will find the fourth tool.

#5 – Bus Depot (Highway Exit) – 1:55
The last of all tools is in a military tent in the outside area after watching the giraffes.
