Fully Briefed
Collect all intel items
There are a total of 54 intel collectibles in Killzone Mercenary. Finding all of them will earn you the Fully Briefed trophy. There are 9 missions and each one has 6 intel collectibles of which 3 are acquired by interrogating officers and 3 by hacking intel terminals. The terminals usually look like computers or blue consoles. The officers are marked with two arrows on the mini-map and have a different uniform than other enemies. You can either melee them from behind to start the interrogation or stun them with the M2 pistol. Using the Ghost Van-Guard and Infiltrator Armor can make it easier to sneak up to them without alerting other enemies.
In Contract select you can see the amount of intel you have found in every mission and even see the ones you are missing. The game lists intel in a different order than they appear in the game! The in-game numbers do not match with the order in which you can acquire the intel!
After acquiring intel you need to reach the next checkpoint. It won’t be saved automatically and if you die you have to collect it again. After reaching the next checkpoint you may return to contract select without finishing the mission.

Low Profile
Access the Security Centre without triggering the alarm in ‘Justice For All’
Contract: Justice for All
The relevant part for this trophy starts after using the wingsuit to fly from one building to another. From this point on, until you enter the security centre, you may not trigger an alarm. Follow the instructions of your teammate. He will tell you how to proceed stealthily. After taking out the MG-gunner you must go up a pipe in the broken part of the building. There you can turn the valve that opens the air vents of the security centre. Turn it a few times, but stop immediately when your teammate says that “targets are coming in on patrol”. If you do not stop they will hear you and trigger an alarm! So take them out and return to the valve. Keep using the valve until the air vents are open and toss a gas grenade into the security centre. When the doors open you must take out the captain and go inside to make the trophy pop up. The Ghost Van-Guard can also be very helpful when trying this!
Cross Examination
Interrogate the Captain in the Judge’s chamber and save his hostage in ‘Justice For All’
Contract: Justice for All
After accessing the security center you will have to rappel down a building. You will land in a big room with some enemies. On the left side of the room is a door. Go through that door and you will come to a corridor with a camera and an enemy. Activate the Ghost Van-Guard if you have it equipped. If not, then wait until the enemy moves on and shoot the camera. Go through the door with the green light and through the window. From there you can reach the Judge’s chamber and stealthily melee the captain from behind. You have to successfully complete the touchscreen prompts 3 times in a row to earn a new intel as well as the trophy.
Man Vs. Machine
Destroy the Helghast Tank without using a D-Charge in ‘Justice For All’
Contract: Justice for All
At the very end of the first mission you will have to destroy a Helghast Tank. The game tells you to use explosive charges, but for the trophy you have to destroy it another way. The easiest method would be to use the Sky Fury Van-Guard. The Sky Fury must be bought from the Arms Dealer and costs 16,000 points. However, you won’t have enough money to buy it when you play this mission for the first time. It will take 2-3 missions until you can afford it and after that you can replay the first mission via contract select. Simply activate the Sky Fury once the tank rolls in and use the touchscreen to fire missiles.
Beachcomber
Destroy all barnacles in ‘The Package’
There are a total of 14 barnacles in Killzone Mercenary. All of them can be found in the first area of the “The Package” contract. The barnacles look like some sort of alien plant. They are moving a little and spit out their long tongue occasionally. You must destroy all of them with strong explosive weapons. The VC39 Beam-Rifle & VC9 Rocket Launcher work best. All of these barnacles can be found on walls. None of them are on the floor or ceiling. There’s also an armory in the first area that you can use to refill your ammo. The barnacle in the beginning is the easiest to miss. Immediately after the mission starts you must turn around and it will be at a very dark spot in the cave.
No Way Home
Destroy the Helghast extraction dropship in ‘Lights Out’
Contract: Lights Out
At the very end of the “Lights Out” mission you are told to enter a Helghast Dropship for extraction. For the trophy you must destroy it instead. Destroying it will fail the mission, but you can restart from the last checkpoint. To destroy it you should use the Porcupine Van-Guard. Buy it from the arms dealer and equip it before the mission starts. After reaching the last checkpoint you cannot access the armory anymore! So make sure to equip the Porcupine before reaching this point. You must use the touchscreen to fire the missiles.
Executioner
Ensure Dr Savic. dies in ‘Hostile Takeover’
Contract: Hostile Takeover
About halfway through the mission you will meet Dr. Savic. There are two enemies interrogating him. Kill them and watch the cutscene. After the cutscene is over you need to kill him to unlock the trophy. There’s also another hidden trophy for saving him, called “Reprieve”. To get it you must leave Dr. Savic unharmed and simply finish the mission.
Freshly Baked
Burn an enemy in the Lab 01 incinerator in ‘Blood Money’
Contract: Blood Money
Shortly after using the elevator in the beginning of the mission you will come to “Lab 01”. In the middle of the room is a circular structure – that’s the incinerator. Lure an enemy into the incinerator by shooting him, or bump into him while using the Ghost Van-Guard. There are two green buttons on the wall of the incinerator. Activate one of them to burn the enemy.
Just To Be Sure
Lock the Admiral in the Vault and detonate the demolition charges in ‘Blood Money’
Contract: Blood Money
At the very end of the “Blood Money” mission you will have to plant two explosive charges in a room. After that the Admiral and some enemies will enter the room. Instead of shooting the Admiral you must use the green switch outside the vault. You can also stun the Admiral with the M2 pistol to slow her down. After using the switch you can blow the vault up to kill the Admiral.
Up Close And Personal
In ‘Exit Wounds’, successfully melee Benoit from behind.
Contract: Exit Wounds
At the very end of this mission you need to fight Benoit. In the first stage of the boss fight you need to shoot down his aircraft by using rocket launchers or the porcupine Van-Guard. After that you can fight him one on one. Activate your Ghost Van-Guard to render yourself invisible and sneak up to Benoit. Press triangle to start the melee attack and use the touchscreen to finish it.

A great place to do this is in the very beginning of the first mission. After fighting the first group of enemies, you will see a Helghast dropship bringing in reinforcements. Activate the Porcupine Van-Guard and use the touchscreen to fire missiles. You won’t be able to do this when playing the mission for the first time. The Porcupine Van-Guard needs to be bought from the arms dealer for 15,000 points. It will take 2-3 missions to get enough points. After that you can replay the first mission via contract select.

Contract: Justice for All
This can be done early on, in the very first mission. After taking out the first groups of enemies you will have to use your wingsuit to fly to another building. Once you are in that building the first enemy you will see is an officer Helghast. Sneak up to him and press triangle. Now you will have to successfully follow the directions on the touchscreen 3 times in a row. If you fail to do so, you must let the enemies kill you to try it again (there is no checkpoint restart).
Heads Up
Get crushed by an incoming VAN-Guard capsule
Contract: Lightning Strike
Towards the end of this mission you will be tasked with protecting a generator. A Van-Guard capsule will land on the left side of the generator. Quickly go there and wait to be crashed by the incoming capsule. The capsule does always land at exactly the same place. If you are not fast enough or standing at the wrong place you can shoot the explosive barrels to kill yourself and try it again.
Marksman
Kill an enemy at long range
Contract: Lightning Strike
At the very end of this mission you are told to get to the extraction point and a timer will be shown on the screen. You will come to a point where you have to use a zipline. Before using the zipline you must shoot the Helghast at the other side to unlock the trophy.
