Infinite Power Nodes & Semiconductors
This glitch allows you to generate as many power nodes you want.
It can be done in chapter 14. Open up the locked door that requires 1 power node before you get to the last save station in this chapter. Then save your data, quiet and reload. Go back to the room and this time there should be power nodes and a semiconductor inside. Go back to the save station and repeat the process.
This strategy works out very well in your first playthrough. So you have your favorite weapons fully upgraded when starting the next playthrough with harder difficulty settings.
It will also help you getting the following trophies: The Electrician, Fully Loaded, Picking Favorites, Fully Outfitted
The Librarian
This Guide reveals the locations of all 47 collectible logs in Dead Space 2. For the trophy or achievement you will just need 100 logs. The story conversations count as logs as well! So there are nearly 150 in total, no need to collect all of them. In case you follow this guide from scratch the trophy will pop in chapter 10. Please don’t wonder about the counter that is showing a #/100, like I said there are just 47 collectible logs shown in this guide and the rest will be gained automatically.
You want to know how many you already collected? Well, then press the Pause-Button and choose Trophies / Achievements in the menu. Search for Librarian and the in-game counter shows you how many you already collected. In your RIG you can also see every single log again (in the “database” section).
Here is an overview how many collectible logs are in which chapter:
1 (5 logs)
2 (3 logs)
3 (4 logs)
4 (4 logs)
5 (2 logs)
6 (3 logs)
7 (3 logs)
8 (2 logs)
9 (3 logs)
10 (5 logs)
11 (3 logs)
12 (0 logs)
13 (7 logs)
14 (2 logs)
15 (1 log)

Collect Peng
The Peng Treasure is located in the mainframe room of chapter 7.
Use the switch one time and go into the room on the left side. Now you will need to match the circuits until all of them turn blue. In case you do so, another switch will be revealed. Use it and crawl into the well hidden peng treasure room.
Lightspeed de Milo
In Chapter 3, you will come to some kind of shopping mall. In the middle of it is the so called “Lightspeed Boy Statue”. Shoot its head off with any weapon you want. Pretty simple.
Elevator Action
After activating the elevator in the beginning of chapter 7 you will come to this point in the game. The most important thing is to have the right weapon and enough ammo. If you’d try it with normal weapons like the plasma cutter you’d need to hit the yellow glowing spots on the tripod’s arms every time and this would take too long. One hit with the detonator is enough to get rid of such a necromorph. You don’t need to upgrade the detonator at all! Of course it will make things a bit easier to have it upgraded but it’s really not necessary.
There are 22 in total so make sure to have at least 22 detonator mines with you, otherwise you will fail.
Don’t forget to go back to the last save station before you try this. You will probably need a couple tries. In case you want to upgrade the detonator you can simply buy back all the power nodes you used for an other upgraded tool (costs 5000).
Romper Stomper
All you need to do for this one is to stomp 10 containers. Actually, it’s pretty hard to miss them. The boxes you need to destroy are green colored and glowing a bit.
Skewered in Space
This one can be done at many spots but I chose the very first one where it is possible – during chapter 3. You need to use your Javelin Gun against a necromorph when it is in front of a so called “Decompression Window”. In case you have some sort of spikes laying around you can use them as well.
Make sure that you shoot on this kind of red triangle above the window, otherwise you will die during this process and then you won’t get anything.
Taste of your own Medicine
For this one you have to shoot a living slasher with another slasher arm.
Using stasis can help a lot because slashers are very fast enemies. You cut off one of those spiky arms and use kinesis to throw it back on an enemy of the same kind. Make sure that the slasher you want to hit sticks to the surface! Otherwise no trophy or achievement will pop.
You can do this anywhere, the shown place in the video is one of the first that offers good chances.
Going for Distance
The most important thing for this one is to make sure that the enemy you want to hit with your Javelin Gun or Kinesis spike sticks to the surface. If it doesn’t, you should go back to the last checkpoint. You will come to the shown place during chapter 2. Make sure to have the Javelin with you or use kinesis to bring a spike with you. The necromorph has to fly for 17 meters at least! There are a couple other spots, but this one is pretty easy and the area is very roomy. As soon as you get to the escalator, the Necro will jump up – and it is hungry for your brain. Use a stasis shot to slow this beast down and the rest will be easy.
Shock Therapy
This can only be done with the Javelin Gun. After you impaled an enemy with it (so make sure you really hit the enemy!) you need to press the Alt-Fire button to set electricity free. 3 Other enemies have to get hit by the lightning now.
There are a couple places where it can be done easily. I show you two of them that will appear pretty early in the game. The first one is in the very beginning of chapter 3 and the other one is in chapter 4.
The Javelin Gun can be bought from chapter 2 on.
My Boom Stick
Kill 6 enemies at once with Line Gun’s Alt-Fire. You need to buy this gun first, it will be available from the beginning of chapter 2 on. You will shoot out a kind of glowing orb that detonates after a couple seconds. Wait until the enemies are very close to each other and then slow them down by using stasis and shoot right in between them. The first possibility to do this is in chapter 3 when the so called packs (little baby monsters) appear.
Remember, that this might take a couple tries.
Clean Cut
Sever all three tentacles of a Lurker with one Line Gun Primary Fire shot.
What you need is a Line Gun with some ammo and a Lurker, of course. Lurkers will appear in chapter 5 for the very first time. I show you the place where the first two of them will face you.
Make them see you, then go around a corner so they don’t fire on you. Wait for them to get very near. Then use your stasis to slow them down and shoot their tentacles from the side. Never try this while standing in front of them, it won’t work in most cases.
Lawnmower Man
Kill 4 enemies with the same Ripper blade.
You can find the ripper blade schematic during chapter 5. Buy it in the next store and make sure to have it in your inventory. In chapter 5 you will come to this very huge hall and the necromorph babies will attack you. They are pretty weak, use your primary fire shot and keep the aim button pressed. Then wait for them to run into your deadly saw blade.
Bouncing Betty
Kill a Cyst by catching its Mine and throwing it back
You will see your first cyst in chapter 6. Cysts are little, round and pulsating things that grow on walls / surfaces. As soon as something is getting pretty close to them, they will pop out some kind of mine or bomb. You just need to grab this mine using kinesis and throw it back onto the cyst to kill it.
To use Stasis makes this a lot easier. So you have much more time to react.
Peek a Boo!
Kill a Stalker with the Seeker Rifle while in Zoom Mode
You can’t get this one before chapter 6. Only in chapter 6 you can find the schematic for the seeker rifle. After you got it go and buy it. While playing chapter 6 you will come to all shown points automatically. Somewhen you will reach an area with lots of stalkers. The rest is pretty simple now. Aim at the point where the first stalker appears and use your stasis ability. Press the Alt-Fire Button to Zoom in and press the Primary-Fire Button to blast off its head. Actually, the hardest part is to collect the Schematic.
…And Stay Down
Kill 25 crawling enemies with Stomp
To kill them easily with stomp attacks you should shoot one of their legs off. Use to plasma cutter for this step. Then try to get as near as possible and use your stomp attack. One stomp will be enough in most cases.
Don’t forget about your stasis ability. Using it makes the whole process more comfortable – the enemies are slowed down extremely and you have enough time to avoid their attacks and to aim on their legs.
Brute Juke
Kill a Brute without taking damage.
You will face your very first Brute in Chapter 6. After escaping from the school building you will come to the shown area. Doing this on the easiest difficulty is recommended!
Fortunately, there is a stasis container standing around and waiting for you to use it. Use kinesis to smash it against the Brute, this will slow him down for quite a while. Enough time to cut off one of his arms at least. Aim on the yellow glowing spots on his shoulders. After the stasis effect ran out make use of your own stasis to slow him down once more. If you have no more stasis on your own it shouldn’t be a problem as well. With one arm he is not so powerful and you can also use the tall pillars as a cover.
C-Section
Knock down an enemy with Contact Beam Alt-Fire then kill it with Primary Fire before it stands up.
Get the schematic for the Contact Beam (requires 1 power node to open a closed door, chapter 7). Then buy and equip it in the next store. After you found a nice group of enemies use Alt-Fire and Stasis to slow the enemy down. Now use your primary fire while the necromorph is still on the ground. That’s it.
