Zelda Tears of the Kingdom The Missing Owner Walkthrough

The Missing Owner is a Side Quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Missing Owner side mission.

Quest Info: Cara, the Jewelry Shop Worker, is troubled. It seems the shop’s owner went out into the desert to find adornments and has yet to return. She told Cara that she would be searching the Toruma Dunes.

Starting Location: The Missing Owner

This quest starts by talking to the General Store merchant in Gerudo Town, in the southwest of the map. You reach the merchant automatically as part of Main Quest: Regional Phenomena. The door to enter Gerudo town is closed when you first arrive, but you can get around it by dropping down the well in the left corner of the big square in Gerudo, then use Ascend to teleport up.

Find the Missing Shop Owner Location in Toruma Dunes

You find the missing shop owner in Toruma Dunes, located northwest of Gerudo Town:

On your first visit, this area will be covered by a big storm, which also blurs the HUD. This can make it tricky to pinpoint the exact location. Look for a woman called Isha on a rock, near a boss called “Molduga” (a big sandfish that digs through the sand). If you have trouble finding the location, finish Main Quest: Riju of Gerudo Town. This will clear up the storm so you can see the full desert map and navigate the area more easily.

How to Defeat Molduga Boss

The shop owner won’t come with you until you defeat the Molduga Boss. The trick here is to lure it out of the sand, then shoot it with Riju’s Lightning Strike and repeat.

First, you should have Riju in your party. She’s recruited during Main Quest: Riju of Gerudo Town.
Throw a Brightbloom Seed onto the sand, this will make Molduga jump out of the sand so that you can attack (hold ZL+R+UP > select item to throw using the Right Stick > stop holding UP to confirm > stop holding R to throw). Brightbloom Seeds are found frequently throughout caves everywhere.
When Molduga jumps out of the sand, shoot it with Riju’s Lightning Strike (press on Riju > shoot arrow at the boss when the yellow circle reaches him).
Molduga should now get stunned and stays on the sand for a short time. Rush in and attack it with melee.
Retreat to the rock and repeat this process until the boss is defeated.

Talk to Isha on the rock afterward. She will automatically travel back to Gerudo.

Return to the Shop Owner in Gerudo Town

Return to Gerudo Town where the quest started. In the market square, talk to the quest giver Cara. This will finish the quest and she gives you a Diamond as a reward.
