Kyononis Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is found in Central Hyrule region, in Hyrule Castle Town Ruins, north of Lookout Landing.

You will walk past this shrine during Main Quest: Crisis at Hyrule Castle.

Kyononis Shrine Location

This shrine is found directly north of Lookout Landing, in Central Hyrule region.

Kyononis Shrine Solution

This shrine acts as a combat tutorial to teach you the basics of dodging, parrying and counter-attacking. It’s pretty quick, all you must do is follow the tutorial instructions to attack the single enemy in the starting room. Attacking the enemy with other attacks won’t deal any damage, you have to follow the exact sequence of tutorial instructions.

  1. Use Side Hop – :zl: + :l-right: + :x2: at the last moment before the enemy hits to perform a perfect dodge. Then the time slows down, immediately press :y2: for a Flurry Rush. When done correctly you get a new tutorial for how to do Backflips.
  2. Use Backflip – :zl: + :l-down: + :x2: just before the enemy is about to strike. Then time slows down and you must press :y2: to Flurry Rush. When done correctly you get a new tutorial for parrying with the shield.
  3. Parry with a Shield – :zl: + :a2: in the exact moment the enemy hits you. When done correctly you get a new tutorial for charge attacks.
  4. Do a Charge Attack – hold and release :y2: to do a charged melee attack. You must hit the enemy.

The charged attack will defeat the enemy and opens the door. Head through, open the chest for a Zonaite Sword weapon. Interact with the green gate at the end of the shrine for 1 Light of Blessing. It will also restore your health and unlocks the shrine as a permanent fast travel point.
