Battle Flag 1
From Battle Flag 1, use the branch to enter the fort.
Walk and fight along the ramparts, looting along the way and you’ll eventually reach Battle Flag 2.
Battle Flag 2
You can’t open the gate that’s next to Battle Flag 2, so continue along the rooftops. Watch out for the ambushing Ninja at the bottom of the ladder.
Continue along the same set of rooftops and head for the corner where you can find Meiwu Fort Guard’s Note tablet.
From the tablet’s location, turn around and dispose of the archer on the opposite roof, then the two soldiers defending the chest.
Now climb up the rooftop where the archer was and make your way across the other rooftops to eventually reach Marking Flag 1 on a balcony.
Now drop down and clear the area of any remaining soldier and dog, looting as you go. Now climb up the wall and continue on to be invaded by Dong Min.
Now enter the new section of the fort and kill the axe-wielding soldier and his dog. Then return to the entrance to find a ladder on the side. Climb it up and start clearing the area of any remaining enemies, including the big axe-wielding soldier who’s controlling the corruption of the next Battle Flag.
Now, loot the rest of the area, including and especially the Golden Cicada Shell found atop a small rooftop above the entrance to this section. Once you’re done, raise the Battle Flag.
Battle Flag 3
From Battle Flag 3, continue downstairs and you’ll reach a cave with the same purple-glowing puddles we met in an earlier mission in the prison. Try not to stay too long here to avoid faster Spirit gauge depletion. As soon as you reach the area, check the corner for some Dragon’s Cure Powder.
Then, continue on to find Battle Flag 4.
Battle Flag 4
From Battle Flag 4, head downhill and defeat the Demonized Officer patrol. Immediately after the Demonized Officer, you’ll reach a fork, with a path going uphill and one leading to a big arena. Go uphill, but watch out for the Demonized Officer hiding around the corner, then grab Meiwu Fort Jailer’s Note tablet from the cabinet.
Now you can enter the arena with the red pillars. Start by clearing out the Warlocks on the wooden structures and the Fanatics on the platforms above the middle of the area.
As you clear the overhead platforms, raise Marking Flag 2.
Once you’ve cleared the area, continue into the next room where you can find a Zhupolong. If your Morale Rank is high enough, you can almost insta-kill it if you sneak behind him.
In the same area where the Zhupolong is you can find a Shitieshou.
Behind the Shitieshou is a small path leading to a shortcut back to Battle Flag 4.
Now climb up the platforms behind and above the Shitieshou and continue to Marking Flag 3.
On one of the hanging rope cages is also Dragon Vein Essence.
Go through the prison door and continue uphill. In the new room, in a hidden alcove behind the Demonized Officer is Marking Flag 4.
Now climb up the ladders and open the door at the top. Now raise Battle Flag 5.
Battle Flag 5
From Battle Flag 5, climb up the fence that’s opposite the bridge and you’ll find Entertainer’s Diary tablet.
Continue now through the garden and raise Marking Flag 5 under the gazebo.
Return to the tablet’s location and run along the fence to be able to sneak up on the axe-wielding soldier.
After killing the axe-wielding soldier, continue along the fence and reach the corner, then vault over to find Dragon Vein Crystal.
Now continue through the bamboo garden and go down to the very bottom of the stairs. Continue on until you see two more sets of stairs. Climb them up to be able to open a shortcut leading you back to Battle Flag 2.
Now go back down the same stairs and enter the gate to find a Fengxi guarding the corrupted Battle Flag. The Fengxi has the exact same move set as the one you defeated at the start of the game. Use Imposing Slab to stop his rampaging attacks for some extra Spirit damage and deflect his charged-up attack when he unleashes it. Once you’ve cleared the area, raise Battle Flag 6, the final one for the mission.
Battle Flag 6
From Battle Flag 6, enter the side area opposite the way you came in and immediately turn right. Defeat the Ninja in the corner, then continue behind the building to sneak up on a Changgui.
From the Changgui’s location, you can climb up to the corruption crystallized branch to defeat a Warlock.
From this branch, you can perform an aerial attack on the second Changgui walking to and fro in the area below. Before doing anything else, return to the platform that you’ve used to reach the corruption branch, but this time climb on the other side to reach a rooftop with a Golden Cicada Shell at the very top.
Now return to the corruption branch and this time go past where the Warlock was to eventually reach a tower at whose top is Marking Flag 6.
From here, you can perform an aerial surprise attack on the Changgui below, then watch out for the small Huoshu behind the wall before the staircase. Now go up the staircase and defeat the big Huoshu to access Marking Flag 7.
Now return to Battle Flag 6 and go up the stairs, keeping the left side of the palace. All the way in the back, basically next to the bamboo garden’s exit is Marking Flag 8, the final one for this mission.
You’re now ready to enter the temple and face the boss. Make sure to rest at the Battle Flag and call up some reinforcements if you’d like.
Dong Zhuo Boss Fight
Dong Zhuo is a big spear-wielding soldier. He mostly sports lunge attacks that are very quick and harmful. Deflecting them requires impeccable timing, but you can use Imposing Slab if available if you don’t feel safe. He can also shoot projectile daggers and has very quick Critical Blow attacks, including one during which he air-spins his spear, one in which he gets ready for a massive stomp, and one in which he cuts the ground with his spear. Bring two reinforcements for this fight to get him off your back. He can deal lots of damage and quickly, but it’s overall a very feasible fight at this point in the game if you follow this strategy.
