Battle Flag 1
From Battle Flag 1, drop down below and you’ll find Disheartened Yuan Soldier’s Note tablet in your path.
Continue past the tablet’s location and you’ll eventually reach a big field with two big flags. With your back on the two flags, flank the left side and beat the Changgui. Then, climb up the left ledge the Changgui was flanking and continue until you see a small wooden platform leading you to Marking Flag 1 and a shortcut ladder back to Battle Flag 1.
From the shortcut, retrace your steps and head towards the big gate where you can see a Leishi guarding and corruption Battle Flag 2. Defeat it to then raise Battle Flag 2.
Battle Flag 2
From Battle Flag 2, go up the hill behind it and defeat the Fanatics along the way. At the very end of the section you’ll find a second Leishi. Defeat him and then climb up the white-painted ledge that was near his roaming location.
Here, fire the rope to operate the second trebuchet.
Then, follow the projectile with the camera and to notice it will have destroyed a gate giving you access to Marking Flag 2.
Now continue opposite the ledge you’ve just climbed and up the crystallized branches. Drop down the ladder back to Battle Flag 2 and continue on.
In the next area, defeat the Changgui, but you can ignore the Zhuyan in the corner. After the Changgui, defeat the Demonized Officer behind it and then proceed onto the path that was behind him. This will lead you to an isolated house with Yuan Zhao Assassin’s Note tablet. Be careful as soon as you get it a Changgui will ambush you.
Now retrace your steps and enter the broken house on the right. There’s a hole in the middle here you can drop down to leading you to some walkable crystallized branches. Be careful when you drop as it’s very easy to die, then follow it to Marking Flag 3, guarded by a Fanatic.
Continue up the crystallized branch and then on the main path, towards the statues. When you reach the statues, head behind the second one on the right to reach a small hidden ledge with a Golden Cicada Shell.
Defeat the two last statues, then operate the crank to open the gate for a shortcut back to Battle Flag 2.
Now proceed up the crystallized branch to reach an encampment. Get to the very top of the encampment to find another crystalized branch leading you to Cao Cao Army Prisoner’s Note tablet.
From here, climb up the white-painted ledges and go raise Battle Flag 3.
Battle Flag 3
From the Battle Flag, try to destroy as many of the red eggs in front of you as you can to avoid hatching more demons, then clear the rest. Now follow the crystallized branch upwards to reach a rooftop.
From the rooftop, drop down to the left to find a small hole in the house you can use to get to Marking Flag 4.
Now go back up and continue down the branch to reach a house. Open the gate for a shortcut back to Battle Flag 3 and then proceed up the other side of the house.
Continue on and you should see a Marking Flag near the fire pot throwing Fanatic. To get to it, we must make a brief detour. Return to the start of the encampment that you can get back to by means of the hole in the nearby house, then proceed up the ledge opposite the way you had originally come from. Continue down into the arena to spawn an Aoye. Defeat it, then raise Battle Flag 4.
Battle Flag 4
From Battle Flag 4, go up the ledges and you’ll eventually see Marking Flag 5.
Now you can use the nearby crystallized white-painted ledge to get back to where we were before the detour. Defeat the Zhuyan.
Behind the Zhuyan’s location is a split. Head left up the crystallized branch to eventually end up in a house with a Warlock guarding Marking Flag 6.
Get ready because behind the door is a Changgui. Defeat it and then the Demonized Officer nearby.
Now walk up the branch opposite the house and you’ll eventually reach a rooftop with a shortcut ladder that can lead you back to Battle Flag 4 if you’d like.
Otherwise, continue up the branch but immediately turn your camera down and to the right to find a small house below some ledges. Inside this house is a chest with Dragon Vein Essence. If you’ve followed this walkthrough in every step, this should be the last piece of health upgrade you need and unlock Pots and Potions.
Return to where you dropped from and this time continue up the branch. Ignore the platform with the Demonized Officer as it can easily knock you off ledge and just proceed along the branches. As you go along them, you’ll be invaded by Guo Tu. Let him come to you and kill him.
When you reach the top, kill the big terracotta soldier controlling the corruption of Battle Flag 5, then raise it.
Battle Flag 5
From Battle Flag 5, head left towards the branches and you should see Marking Flag 7 at the end of one.
You’re now ready to take on the next boss.
Yuan Shao Mid-Boss Fight
Yuan Shao is a mid-level boss fight. He is an ice-casting tailed demon. He can cast massive ice shards and projectiles and uses his tail for his Critical Blow attack. Since he’s quite stationary, you can use this to your own advantage. Get close to him and cast your most powerful spell for considerable Spirit damage. When he’s about to cast ice, retreat and deflect them to restore some of your Spirit gauge. Other than that, keep getting close to him to cast magic and he should go down quickly. A very easy boss despite being an endgame one.
Battle Flag 6
After the boss, leave the room and raise Battle Flag 6, the final one for this mission.
After raising it, go behind the woman and start walking down the crystallized branch. At the bottom you’ll find a Shitieshou and behind him a Golden Cicada Shell.
Return to the woman and continue all the way into the boss room.
Yu Ji / Embodiment of Demonic Qi Boss Fight
Yu Ji is a two-phase boss fight. His main attacks are ranged magic casts of all elemental phases.
- Phase 1: during Phase 1, Yu Ji will be in human form. In this form, he’s quite weak and stationary. Especially the latter aspect, you can exploit to deal consistent damage. All of his spells can be interrupted when he’s getting ready to cast them. When he is, go up to him and cast your best spell in return. This will break his magic and stun him at the same time, leaving him open for a heavy attack. When you’re able to perform a Fatal Strike on him he will suffer a ton of damage. The only two real attacks you have to watch out for are when he summons swords and uses his weapon in a spinning-slashing motion. His Critical Blows are a spin attack and a hand slam, bother slow and easy to deflect.
- Phase 2: during Phase 2, he will be in dragon form. In this form, he’s the complete opposite of his human form. He’s a beast and moves around uninterruptedly. As such, don’t follow him around, just stand back for the entire fight and do your best to deflect his incoming attacks. Some of his attacks are: a lightning tail slash, a venomous body spin, 6 consecutive sword slashes, venomous pools summoned from the ground. The strategy here is to wait for him to cast his Critical Blows attacks, which are all slow and easy to deflect. One Critical Blow is a tail slam, a second one is a slow slithering attack, a third one is a massive fire ball, a fourth one is a tail ground cut. You can also try casting Imposing Slab for when he flies around to have him bump into it if possible, but don’t rely too much on it this time around. When his Spirit gauge is depleted, you’ll be able to perform a Fatal Strike that deals big chunks of damage. Also, if available, summon Tenshen Divine Beast to debuff him.
This finishes Decisive Battle of Guandu main quest in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and immediately starts The Crouching Dragon Roars.
