Requirement: having completed Lu Bu, Mightiest Among Men
Reward: Rank 8 Leather x3, Bronze Dual Swords x1, Heishan Bandit Garb x1, Heishan Bandit Bracers x1, Aspiration of Amity
Battle Flag 1
From Battle Flag 1, continue downhill and defeat the soldiers along the way. When you get to a split with a spiked barricade on the left, go right and immediately look to your left for some white-painted ledges. Go up these to find a Warlock at the top.
Defeat him and then perform surprise aerial attack on the Changgui below.
After killing it, get rid of the remaining demons in the area, especially and including the Demonized Officer who’s controlling the Battle Flag’s corruption. When you’re done, raise Battle Flag 2.
Battle Flag 2
From Battle Flag 2, continue right past the white tent to find another white tent guarded by two soldiers.
Defeat them and then climb up the tent, cross the bridge and kill the soldier guarding Marking Flag 1.
From the bridge, drop down and defeat the two Changgui and Fanatics in the area, then continue on. Immediately after the Changgui and Fanatics, you’ll get to a split with a ledge on the right and a wooden bridge on the left. Go down the ledge to find Rank 9 Steel, then continue past the wooden bridge, thus down the ledges and into the foggy area.
Follow the lanterns until you reach an area with a tent on the right and a wooden watchtower in the middle. Past the tent you can find some Rank 9 Leather, but watch out for the soldier behind it. Now continue down the main path and defeat the Changgui patrolling to and fro.
Now climb up the long ladder that was behind the Changgui and cross the bridge.
At the end of the bridge, go left and kick down the shortcut platform.
Now climb up the white-painted ledge and head left to find Cao Cao Soldier’s Note tablet.
From the tablet, climb up the wooden scaffoldings and head to the rooftop, then drop inside it.
Once inside, use the broken platforms to get to a Shitieshou.
Then, kill the Demonized Officer and the two Warlocks on the bottom floor and raise Marking Flag 2.
Open the two gates and then drop down the hole. Here, rotate the crank wheel and it will open up a shortcut back to Battle Flag 2.
Now defeat the standing Demonized Officer and then climb up the long ladder again, but this time head right. Past two soldiers you can find Dragon Vein Essence.
Now cross the bridge once more and head downhill. In the next area, kill the enemies surrounding the Suanyu, then kill it.
Then, climb up the tower that was near his patrolling route and grab the Golden Cicada Shell from the branch.
From the branch, drop down onto the Changgui below. Continue past the Demonized Officer and the corruption on the wooden wall until you can branch off into a small path on your left to get to Marking Flag 3 and a shortcut ladder.
Now continue up and around the main path until you reach a corrupted area with a Warlock casting spells from a platform above. Get to this platform to find Yan Liang’s Note tablet.
You can now proceed downstairs to kill the Corpse Demon that controls the corruption of the nearby Battle Flag.
Battle Flag 3 and Yan Liang and Wen Chou Mid-Boss Fight
Open the gate and you’ll have to fight against two half-level bosses at the same time, Yan Liang and Wen Chou. The strategy here is obvious: allow your ally to take on Yan Liang while you take on the standing one, Wen Chou. They’re not as tough as they look and will go down very easily. Use your Spirit gauge for Imposing Slab to deal extra Spirit damage and just focus on deflecting attacks. Once Wen Chou is down, help your ally buddy with Yan Liang. Yan Liang has a very similar move set to the Changgui’s, so Imposing Slab here can really help. After a while, Wen Chou will come back alive. Once they’re both dead, you can raise Battle Flag 4.
Battle Flag 4
From Battle Flag 4, go downhill and enter the first house on the ring for some Rank 9 Leather. Continue through the village and open the gate at the top. Continue through the catacombs and you’ll eventually be able to raise Battle Flag 5 in a room with a Demonized Officer and some Fanatics.
Battle Flag 5
From Battle Flag 5, you can go into the diagonally opposite room, past the wooden crates, for some optional items. When you’re ready, open the gate, defeat the terracotta soldiers and then open a second gate.
Here, defeat the Demonized Officer. From here, go up the stairs and immediately take a right to be able to reach Marking Flag 4, the final one for this level.
Drop back down and go into the room left of the alcove with the red crystal to find Tomb Robber’s Letter tablet.
Now go back around, destroy the red crystal, go up the stairs and this time go straight ahead. Immediately after, you’ll reach a room with two big sword-wielding terracotta soldiers guarding a door.
Ignore them for now and climb the ledges. At the top, you’ll notice a hole in the ground with a ladder going down. This leads you to a shortcut ladder that, in turn, leads you back to Battle Flag 5. Activate the shortcut and then go back up and kill the Houshu near the red crystal. Behind the red crystal you can find a Golden Cicada Shell.
Now you can go and take on the two big terracotta soldiers which shouldn’t be too hard to take down. Open the door and immediately turn left.
Flank this side and get to the other side of the room to get behind the big demon wielding a hammer. Grab Dragon Vein Crystal from atop the tomb and then perform a Fatal Strike on him.
After killing him, go up the platform where the Warlock is, kill him, and from here jump over to the wooden platform.
Continue along the tunnel past the red crystal and you’ll reach a room with a hole on the floor. Dropping down will give you access to Battle Flag 6.
Battle Flag 6
From Battle Flag 6, open the door and continue through the other opening where you can see the light shining through. Continue on to get back outside to an encampment.
Here, you’ll be invaded by Shen Pei, so wait for the invader to get to your location and fend him off. It’s three against one, so he won’t stand much of a chance.
From the top of the encampment, you can see Battle Flag 7 to the right. Drop down and kill soldiers as you go, including and especially the Corpse Demon controlling Battle Flag 7’s corruption. When you’re done, raise it to get this mission’s last Battle Flag.
Battle Flag 7
You’re now ready to enter the arena and challenge the boss.
Liu Bei Boss Fight
Liu Bei is an extremely quick human demon. He has quick dual swords attacks that can deal a ton of damage if undeflected. Incidentally, this is also one of his main weaknesses, meaning that if you manage to deflect a good chunk of his attacks, he can also sustain lots of Spirit damage. Do your best to deflect as many as you can and retreat to heal and take a breather if needed. If you do, make sure yo encourage your two allies. If you want to play it safe, I’d recommend keeping your distance from him for the entire fight and let the two allies do most of the job. Only get close to him when he’s not spinning around with his dual swords and to cast Imposing Slab or Burning Flamewave. So, a good strategy could be to let him fight your allies for a couple of seconds, go in, cast Imposing Slab, retreat and deflect if necessary. When you retreat, make sure there’s wide enough a gap between you and boss as all of his tail and dual sword attacks have a really wide reach. If Tengshe Divine Beast is viable, summon it to deal a good number of debuffs. His Critical Blow attack is also fairly easy to deflect: slashing blood blades right when is stationary mid-air. Again, with two allies aiding you and using this strategy, this fight is not too bad.
