Watch Dogs 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap

Go to the clothing store “Plainstock” in Oakland (eastern part of the map). They sell pink Gatorfeet shoes. The exact name is “Gatorfeet Whine Country” and they cost $65. You can fast travel to the store by pressing Square (PS4) / X (XB1) on the world map. Can be done from the beginning.

Cable Cars are driving around the inner city of San Francisco near the Transamerica Pyramid. Go to the location from the video. Either follow the tracks on the road or wait for a cable car to arrive. They only drive around a very small area.

Fast travel to the “Nudle Vending Machine” in the south of Silicon Valley. It is marked on the map from the beginning. Buy a T-Shirt for $5 from the vending machine and the trophy will unlock.

For this you can pet the same dog 10 times in a row. You will frequently find dogs throughout the open world. A fixed spawn point can be found at Pier 39 by the restaurant (north of San Francisco). When you fast travel here a dog will always spawn. You can also find many dogs at the beach when it’s sunny outside.

Simply walk around with your camera until someone makes a funny pose. The NPCs will do this very frequently when you aim the camera at them. Works well on sidewalks.

Unique Cars will show up on the map when you go near them. They are in fixed locations. There are lots of them and once you find one you can have it delivered to you for free at any time.
Go to the location in the video (Port of Oakland) and press the right stick to scan the area. A blue car icon will show up when you get close to it. Hack the huge container crane to make a path. Once you’re at the top use the skill “Vehicle Directional Hack” to move the car out of the container. This is one of the basic skills that costs 2 research points.

The trophy unlocks when entering the vehicle.

There are 24 pieces of Key Data in Watch Dogs 2. Finding all of them unlocks the Researcher trophy / achievement. It is also needed to buy certain skills and upgrades.

The Key Data locations are shown to you in-game and are easy to find. Open the research App on your phone and press Triangle (PS4) / Y (XB1) on a key data skill. It will show you the rough search area on the map, not always the exact location. You can use the Quadcopter and press Right Stick to scan the world for nearby collectibles.

Figuring out the solutions to these puzzles is the harder part. Many of them require the RC Jumper or Quadcopter (RC Jumper is one of the first story unlocks, Quadcopter must be bought in Hacker HQ).
One key data requires the skill “Environmental RC” (costs 2 research points). All the others can be found without the use of skill upgrades.

You can reach every key data very early in the game, after you unlock the research app. They will be saved instantly when you pick them up. Nothing is missable.
In the research app you can see which ones you’ve found.

Go to the location from the video and start shooting around until someone calls the cops. Kill the police to quickly raise your wanted level. At level 5 drive through the underground parking garages. Close the doors behind you by pressing L1+X (PS4) / LB+A (XB1). Inside the last garage you lock the door by pressing L1+Triangle / LB+Y. When the door is powered down nobody can enter. This effect runs out after a few seconds so you must quickly power it up and down again if cops are outside. If they didn’t see you driving into the garage (your radar turned yellow) this should be easy.
After your radar turns yellow you must stay out of sight for 1 minute.

If this route doesn’t work on the first try just drive through all the parking garages again at higher speed. Try to be out of sight by the time you reach the last garage.

The Merengue can be bought from Total Motors car dealerships. It is a standard class vehicle and costs $43125. After the purchase it can be grabbed from the car dealer’s garage or you use the “Car on Demand” app to have it delivered to you.
Now drive 4 km with this car (2.5 miles). Just drive along a highway and you’ll have this in no time. The trophy pops after stopping the vehicle, not while you are driving.

For this I recommend you use the fastest motorcycle called “Sayonara”. You can purchase it at elite car dealerships and have it delivered to you. Go to the location from the video and use the ramp to perform a long stunt jump. If this gives you trouble buy the skill “Engine Override” which unlocks Nitro. With the extra nitro speed it will be much easier (but it’s not absolutely required).

A great location for this is near the bar at Jack London Square (the Pier in Oakland). Vomiting people will often spawn at the pier. They show up RANDOMLY! So depending on your luck this may take a little while. Look out for drunk people / the ones that look sick. I found 4 vomiting people in 15 minutes. Just run up and down the pier for a while.

The daytime doesn’t matter for this. It works at day and night.

First you must buy the skill “Vehicle Directional Hack” (costs 2 research points). With this skill you can remote control vehicles. Just climb on the roof of a car and press L1+Triangle (PS4) / LB+Y (XB1).

DedSec events show up randomly while free-roaming in co-op. You will receive a text pop-up in the top left corner when they are nearby. Again, they are random so this could take a while. As of patch 1.08 they may also show up solo when your PS4 is disconnected from the internet (PS4 Settings > Network > Connect to Internet > Uncheck). Just drive around the open world with your co-op buddy to find more of these events.

There are 3 DedSec Event types:

• Upload Virus:  must upload a virus and kill waves of enemies during the upload. The enemies can be really tough and have heavy armor. The strongest sniper rifle (from 3D Printer in Hacker Space) can kill them in one shot.
• Hack the Hacker: approach the NPC hacker and initiate a download of their profile. Best strategy is to melee the hacker (or kill him by other means) so he can’t run away. Both players should stay near his body for a fast download. Some enemies may arrive – try to hide so the police won’t get involved.
• Eliminate Car Driver: these happen mostly while on foot. When you walk around a vehicle with a purple marker may show up. Eliminate the driver. For me these showed up most frequently right after joining a co-op partner.

Both co-op partners should stay fairly close together. Not only are the events easier with two people but they seem to trigger much more often when both players are together (in the same named region). I was just driving all over the map with the fastest car (my co-op partner in the car with me) and it took around 2 hours to find 5 events. If you don’t find anything within 15 minutes quit the session and team up again. Events pop up more frequently at the start of sessions. So making a new session after a while helps. If absolutely nothing shows up for more than 30 minutes both players should reboot the game.

Press Options Button > Multiplayer > Bounty Hunter > Trigger Bounty. In this mode you will be hunted by real players and the police. The real players that join the match are the “hunters”. Kill one enemy player to unlock this. A good strategy is to place explosives with the quadcopter (requires skill upgrades to unlock). Or buy the strongest sniper rifle that kills enemies in 1 shot.

If you can’t find any players go to Game Settings > Online Preference > make sure they are all turned on. You can also initiate a level 5 police chase and wait for hunters to join you. This is often more reliable and finds enemy players automatically. The option to play online unlocks after the first main mission.

Press Options Button > Multiplayer > Bounty Hunter > Find a Target. In this mode you play as a hunter and must kill an enemy player that is being chased by the police. A good strategy is to place explosives with the quadcopter near them and trigger a remote detonation (requires skill upgrades to unlock). Or buy the strongest sniper rifle that kills enemies in 1 shot.

The option to play online unlocks after the first main mission.

Press Options Button > Multiplayer > Online Co-Op > Launch. This will let you join a co-op match. You might join a co-op mission that is already in progress or you might end up with another player in free roam. In free roam you can drive to a co-op mission and trigger it from there. Co-Op missions are marked with purple icons on the world map. You can also go to these icons in a solo game but it doesn’t usually find any players or takes a long time to find someone.

The option to play online unlocks after the first main mission.

This can be done in San Francisco. Near the “Dye Dude Kiosk” (marked on map) there’s a donut shop. At daytime you can find a man here wearing a donut costume. He does not spawn at night, only by day during business hours.
To get the trophy you must buy the skills “APB: Suspect Located” & “Botnet Upgrade” (6 research points required). Now call the cops on the donut guy via the skill. They will come to arrest him.

You may also want to take a picture of the donut guy before he gets arrested. He counts as a ScoutX Challenge (for Got the Shutterbug trophy).

As the trophy description says, invade one hacker in an online event and complete the hack 100%. These events are marked by purple icons on the world map as “Hacking Invasion Activities”. After initiating the hack you must stay hidden and wait for the progress bar to reach 100% to pop the trophy. If you don’t complete the hack 100% it won’t unlock.

Total Motors has the cheaper cars which is better suited for this trophy. Buy the cheapest 25 cars and you shouldn’t have any trouble with this if you aren’t wasteful. Just save up all your money for these cars till the end of the story. There are two fast ways to make money: replay races (bike races etc.) or look for money bags in the open world. Money bags usually have around $15,000 but many of them require skill upgrades or the Quadcopter to be reached.

Some of the cheapest cars can be purchased for as little as $2000. The ones in the category “Standard Vehicles” are the cheapest.

When buying all the cheapest vehicles at Total Motors you’ll need a total of $269,000 to buy 25 different cars!
