Introduction

Welcome to the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Trophy Guide! Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a third-person action co-op game in which we go into battle to fight against Tyradine hordes. The game is relatively short and the campaign can be completed in about 6-10 hours. There are a total of 7 campaign missions and 6 Operations to complete. Along the way you should collect all Dataslates. After this the grindy part begins towards Platinum. The campaign and Operations can be played solo, but you will need a PS+ Online membership to earn all the trophies from the PVP mode ‘Eternal War’. The Eternal War mode is also the only mode that cannot be played solo. There you compete against a total of 16 other players.

Step 1: Play the Campaign, collect all Dataslates, mark every Enemy Type [10 hours]

Play through the 7 Main Missions and the 6 Side Operations. They take place over three planets (Kadaku, Avarax and Demerium). Along the way, collect all 35 Dataslates. If you miss a Dataslate you can still replay everything later. Each mission has between 2-4 Dataslates.

» Dataslates Guide

For trophy Purge Them All, you must mark all enemy types. It’s good to focus on this from the start. This includes all bosses and all other enemies. Aim the weapon :l2: and then press  until the enemy lights up red. Remember to mark the boss in every mission, as these are unique to story missions. All other enemies are found throughout the game.

For trophy The Art of Dismemberment, you need to perform 50 unique finishers, most of them tied to using specific melee weapons and classes. These are performed with :r3: , do this whenever possible. However, there are more than 50 unique finishers so if you work on this you can obtain it halfway into the campaign.

Step 2: Eternal War PvP Trophies [5-10h]

In the next step we will concentrate on the online mode ‘Eternal War’. Eternal War is a PvP mode that offers three different game modes: Seize Ground, Capture and Control, Annihilation. In PvP mode, you have to play 10 games in each mode. It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose them, but you must win a match once with each class. The hardest trophy from the online mode is trophy Merciless, where you need 5 kills in a row without dying. In total, you have to play around 30 matches before we are finished with the PvP part of the trophies.

Step 3: Max Level for one Class, Melee Weapon, and Ranged Weapon [20-30 hours]

In the next step you have to reach the maximum level with any class. The highest level is 25. Each level also takes more XP. The higher you set the difficulty level for the Operations, the more XP you get. Work your way up to Ruthless level difficulty to get more XP. Although this game mode can be played solo, it is advisable not to play the mode with bots, as they do not get passive team skills. Take your time here to master the game. Unfortunately, you can’t choose any class because some of them, like the Heavy, don’t use Melee Weapons. Choose between the Tactical, Vanguard or Sniper. You can increase the difficulty level every 5 level-ups, but it’s best to first unlock all the perks and look for all armory data in the Operations to level up the weapons. A quick way to get XP is to play Mission 1 “Inferno”. This Operation is relatively quick and doesn’t have a boss at the end, making it one of the easiest to farm XP with.

Step 4: Grind the 41,000 Kills [10 hours]

Lastly, you will need to grind the 41,000 kills. There is a very simple method to get 41,000 kills: The best way to farm the kills is to play the first Campaign mission “Skyfire” up to the point where you encounter the first horde. Here you will be asked to enter an elevator. However, you can defeat an endless number of Tyranids here as long as you don’t enter the elevator. The 41,000 kills are the quickest here. It takes about 4 hours to get 20,000 kills and 8 hours to get 41,000 kills.

The only important thing is that you mark the boss in every mission, as these are exclusive only to some story missions. Otherwise, all opponents can be found randomly in the Operations.

Complete any Mission in Operations mode on Ruthless Threat Level
Silver
For this trophy we have to complete an operation on ‘Ruthless’ difficulty. It’s best to tackle this trophy with two friends, as bots only stay at level 1 and have no passive team abilities. This trophy is easiest to earn once you are level 25 and have purchased all abilities with a Space Marine. The easiest mission is Mission 1 “Inferno”. For solo players, the Tactical class is recommended, as it can completely restore health with heavy shots/attacks if health falls below 30%.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Trophy Guide Principia Imperialis
Find [200] pickups in Operations mode
Bronze
To get this trophy we have to collect 200 pickups in the Operations. These include ammunition packs, health, etc. This trophy comes naturally on your way to level 25.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Trophy Guide Strategic Specialty
Reach the maximum Level for one Class
Silver
This trophy can be earned in Operations or in Eternal War mode. However, the progression counts separately between these modes! Since you have to complete an operation on the highest level of difficulty, it is recommended to do this in Operations and not to attempt the trophy in Eternal War mode.

To save on time, you should choose the Tactical, Bulwark or Sniper class as these are the only classes in the game with a Primary, Secondary and Melee Weapon.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Trophy Guide Sharpest Edge
Reach the maximum Level for one Melee Weapon
Silver
This trophy can only be earned in Operations because weapons can’t be leveled up in Eternals mode.

You must reach legendary rarity (Relic) with one melee weapon, then fill the progression bar again to its maximum on legendary rarity. You upgrade weapon rarity with Armory Data, which is randomly obtained during Operations, either as a pickup or by defeating randomly spawning bosses.

To save on time, you should choose the Tactical, Bulwark or Sniper class as these are the only classes in the game with a Primary, Secondary and Melee Weapon.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Trophy Guide Strongest Shot
Reach the maximum Level for one Ranged Weapon
Silver
This trophy can be earned in Operations or in Eternal War mode.

You must reach legendary rarity with one ranged weapon, then fill the progression bar again to its maximum on legendary rarity.

While all classes sport a Secondary Ranged Weapon, you should pick any of these three to simultaneously level up the other weapon categories.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Trophy Guide Bespoke
Customise a full Armour set for one Class

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Trophy Guide An End to Heresy
Kill a Lesser Sorcerer while he’s reviving a Rubric Marine
Bronze
For this trophy we have to kill a Lesser Sorcerer while he is trying to revive a Rubric Marine. This trophy can only be obtained during the missions on planet Demerium, for example during Campaign Mission ‘Dawn’s Descent’, during Objective ‘Fight Your Way to the Enemy Vessel’. When this happens the sorcerer-type enemy will glow purple and establishes a purple magic beam to the fallen enemy. Kill the sorcerer while he does this.

When you say it’s not advisable to do solo for Step 3, how much harder would it be? If the answer is “much” then is matchmaking sufficient alternative? I don’t have any friends who plan on playing this.

Why did you grade it 6/10? Because of the mp trophies? Just curious haha.

If I play without PS Plus and I get the trophies that I can, will everything be reset including the trophies and the story if I buy PS Plus? If so, the game has a 0/10 rating for this approach.

I can tell you haven’t played as of the date you wrote your comment. But let me tell you everything you need to know if you still haven’t played the game yet.

Trophies cannot be reset for any game in general. The Story and PVE can be fully played offline. Albeit the PVE progress would be fully reset. Like for example, if you got the trophies for maxing out a class and a weapon’s level, you can keep the trophies but it would be virtually impossible to carry over said progression once you go online. So if you wanted to do the “PVE” grind before PS Plus, you’d have to do it all offline as to not risk your PVE progress being reset. But if you didn’t earn certain trophies like Thunderous Impact, but made progress to it, you can continue where you left off and earn it then.

And if you wanted my more rude response then read below.
      Otherwise, the Emperor protects.
      –
      –
      –
Genuinely one of the most uninformed comments about a game’s trophies ever. How did you ever come up with the conclusion that all the trophies are locked by PS Plus? You can earn virtually all the trophies offline except for the PVP trophies. Can even keep all your story progress, including collectibles. The only caveat is that the PVE mode progress will not carry over, like class and weapon levels, mission progress, collectibles, etc.. But even then, you can continue earning trophies from where you left off since trophy progress, and in-game progression are fully seperated. I’ve even tested it and my trophy progress for a specific class carried over, despite being played initially offline. This could also apply for the collectibles as long as your offline save is intact. The only reason why this guide says it’s all online is because the game is best played online, since well… all the modes can be played online.

      TLDR;
PVP trophies cannot be earned, but Story and PVE can be done offline. Progress trophies (X/41000 Enemies) can still be continued even after going online. Story progression and collectibles from both the Story and PVE modes are unaffected by going online, but PVE progression like weapon levels and completed operations are reset, unfortunately. But even then, why would you want to play by yourself the entire time in a PVE mode? Or even the Story mode? The game is literally made to be played with other people in all modes, but if you’re just going for the trophies only, go on and get everything except for the PVP trophies.

I found it’s best to play solo operations as Bulwark with the 1st ultimate ability- it will auto drop the shock grenade when the worm holding you depletes your armor. and that should be enough to peel it off xD

Just found out you can do most of the Class related trophies in Trials. For example you need 25p headshots with the Sniper class. Instead, do the first trial called “Cloak” I believe, and you start with an SMG. Go for all the headshots you can before you die, restart & keep going until it pops. Can also do it for the 100 Vanguard Gun Strikes and other ones

You can do the 2nd Operation to farm the 41,000 kills. If you just never detonate the bomb the enemies will keep spawning. Play the mission as Heavy with Multi-melta. I was able to get about 20,000 kills i under 3 hours.

Don’t you need to run at least 2 Ruthless operations? You need to get the Ruthless”Gold” armory data to fully upgrade 1 melee weapon and 1 ranged weapon. Can you max out the weapons in PVP?

You can get 2 of those in one run if you want.

      – Kill the boss of the run and get one.
      – Find the one hidden on the map to get the second one.

Break of Dawn seems to be bugged, idk what triggers it, but it didn’t pop for me

Perhaps it has to do with the fact i did it in multiple sittings? I have no clue, but i’ve seen others report this

The “immovable object” trophy can be achieved by using the L2 button to zoom in to move into the heavy stance not the triangle button. The triangle button uses your ability. You must keep the L2 button held in. You see the Body positioning change and the feet get “planted”.
