Valkyrie Elysium has 118 Hollom Blossom Locations and 9 Verdant Blossom Locations. They are Collectibles that look like Blue and Green flowers. Hollow Blossoms give extra background info about the game world but don’t serve any specific gameplay purpose, while Verdant Blossoms are required to be collected to trigger Ending 4 at the end of Chapter 9.
All of the Blossoms are shown on the map with Blue and Green dots, so while this guide isn’t strictly needed to find them all, there are some that aren’t shown on the main map for each area or are tricky to find, so this guide includes some specific tips and info related to them, along with information on which Chapters and map areas they can be found in. While most of the Chapters share areas, you don’t always go through the full map again in each chapter, so it’s highly recommended you grab all possible Blossoms in each new chapter. Check underneath each Territory heading for specific info about the areas.
While viewing the map in-game, most of the Blossoms are shown on the “main” full version of the map, so some maps you aren’t shown the full thing at the start of the chapter. If you reach an area where the map zooms into a smaller area, you can switch between it and the “main” map by hitting (PlayStation) / (PC/Xbox Controller) on the map screen.
Collecting all of the Blossoms is required for the following trophies:
- Vestige of a Soul
- Beyond Reminiscence
- A Mysterious Flower
- Truth of the Gods
- Unbound Possibilities (All Verdant Blossoms required to trigger Ending 4)
NOTE: The trophies related to the Blossoms won’t pop until you complete the chapter you are on, as the game doesn’t actually fully save what you have collected until completing a chapter (if you return to Valhalla in the middle of a chapter the game doesn’t count what you’ve done in that chapter).
Be’elzean Territory (Chapter 1/2)
28 Hollow Blossoms, 0 Verdant Blossoms
All Blossoms can be collected in Chapter 1 (and it is recommended you grab them all there). You don’t go through the full map in Chapter 2, so if you miss some in Chapter 1 it’s not guaranteed you’ll be able to grab them all in Chapter 2.
Section 1: The westmost Blossom requires the Double Jump skill to reach, so unlock this skill as soon as possible when you start this chapter.
Section 2: This is the Town area midway through the Chapter. The northeast Blossom is reached by using Soul Chain to a rooftop near the north exit of the area.
Section 3: This is the Castle area at the end of the chapter. All Blossoms are shown if you switch to the full map with , but this isn’t really helpful due to the Castle being multiple stacked floors. Make sure to check the two main levels while progressing, then make sure to not miss the final Blossom which is located right before the boss room at the end of the Chapter.
Galdban Territory (Chapter 3/4)
30 Hollow Blossoms, 4 Verdant Blossoms
You can collect exactly half of each Blossom in each of the Chapters. This is because the Chapters take place on separate halves of the map, and they don’t overlap, so make sure you finish Chapter 3 with 15 and 2 collected to avoid replaying the Chapter.
Chapter 3 – Section 1: This first section has two floors even though it is the “main” map, and it doesn’t show the 3 Blossoms on the upper floor on the main floor of the map. Note in the second image the two Hollow Blossoms are located in the southeast corner, and the Verdant Blossom located on the west side.
Chapter 3 – Section 2
Chapter 3 – Section 3: In this final area of the map, the Hollow Blossom is on a ledge above the save point. To reach it, equip the weapon Baleygr, run and jump towards the ledge from the staircase on either side, then do -> to land on the ledge.
Chapter 4 – Section 1: This section is the remainder of the “town” area that you didn’t travel through in Chapter 3. Once you progress towards the castle at the end of the area you switch to the zoomed-in maps which are better for the multiple floors (Section 2). Note that this main part of the map doesn’t show all Blossoms, as they are on a different “floor” than the main map.
Chapter 4 – Section 2: This section covers all the zoomed-in map sections that you can view once you reach the castle area. Be careful to check each floor as you go, as you get locked further into the level once you go down an elevator a bit after the Hilde fight (the elevator is beside the Subquest pickup in image 4). The final round section is the bottom floor right before the boss room.
Lucardan Territory (Chapter 5)
22 Hollow Blossoms, 1 Verdant Blossom
This Territory is only used in Chapter 5, so make sure to grab all Blossoms as you progress. All Blossoms are shown on the main map layer and the full map is visible from the start of the Chapter.
Romalian Territory (Chapter 6/7)
26 Hollow Blossoms, 2 Verdant Blossom
You can collect 17 Hollow Blossoms and 1 Verdant Blossom in Chapter 6, then the remaining 9 and 1 in Chapter 7. All Blossoms are displayed on the main map layer in Chapter 6, but these chapters go back to the whole map not being displayed at once.
Chapter 6 – Section 1: To reach the Verdant Blossom, you first need the “First Belltower Key”. This is located in a red chest on top of the building you went through earlier, reached through the area just past the flower. The Hollow Blossom at the very south end of the map (near the Subquest point) can’t actually be collected until you reach the second part of the map.
Chapter 6 – Section 2
Chapter 7 – Section 1: In this section, you return through some areas from Chapter 6, but there are a handful of new attached areas with the Hollow Blossoms.
Chapter 7 – Section 2: This section is the building at the very end of the level that you progress through. To reach most of them you need to go to the second floor, then drop through holes to reach the closed-off areas on the first floor. The final Blossom is located on the top floor right before the boss at the end of the Chapter.
The Serpent’s Nest (Chapter 8/9)
12 Hollow Blossoms, 2 Verdant Blossom
You can obtain 9 Hollow Blossoms and 1 Verdant Blossom in Chapter 8, then the rest in Chapter 9 (even though you can see all Hollow Blossoms on the map in Chapter 8 you can’t pick up the final 3).
Chapter 8: The Blossoms on the south of the map can be reached by following a “Fallen Flame” (you receive a tutorial on this at the start of the chapter). Follow the one near the start of the area towards the edge of the water and it should spawn a grapple point towards the round part in the middle of the area. You can then grapple across to the far shore to reach the Verdant and Hollow Blossoms.
Chapter 9: The Verdant Blossom in this chapter resets each time you play it (so that you aren’t locked out of Ending 1 if you collect it). You only need to collect them all once to earn the trophy, so you will only need to do this on the playthrough that you are triggering Ending 4.
That’s all of the Blossoms in Valkyrie Elysium.
Josh Kaufman says
I can’t get the one in chapter 6 section 1 to the right of the white NPC icon, it says I need a house key to open the door and I’ve searched the entire map and I can’t find the key.
Gage says
If I remember correctly the House Key is in the same spot as Armand in the building in that area.
