Here you can find a full The Quarry Walkthrough of all Chapters and the best ending “Everyone Survived”. This will unlock the Rough Night trophy and achievement (kept everyone alive).
It’s as spoiler-free as possible and combines the Best Ending with all other compatible Trophies and Collectibles in a single playthrough. Every single dialogue choice and QTE input is listed here. It will also earn you the trophy for killing all Hacketts. Killing Hacketts is fine and doesn’t void “Everyone Survived”. We will combine as much as possible to set up the other ending-related trophies in the process. Thus you can reduce the number of playthroughs needed for all trophies/achievements. Some Collectibles cancel out each other (different choices leading to different areas). It’s impossible to get all Collectibles in 1 playthrough. Also know that you can move faster by holding L1/LB/SHIFT to speed things up. For the trophy to keep everyone alive only the playable characters must survive (Jacob, Nick, Ryan, Dylan, Max, Kaitlyn, Emma, Abigail, Laura).
Trophies Unlocked from this Guide:
- All 12 Chapter-related trophies + most Collectible Trophies
- Nick of Time (Successfully took the fastest route to Nick)
- Just a Flesh Wound (Saved a friend from infection)
- Bizzare Yet Bonafide (Listened to the podcast)
- Phlebotomy (Accepted the bite of a werewolf)
- Reactionist (Activated 15 Interrupts)
- You’re Breathtaking! (Passed 5 Don’t Breathe events)
- Above the Law (Travis and Laura agreed to work together)
- Nobody’s Fool (Jacob told Emma the truth)
- Hard Pass (Refused Eliza’s help)
- Family Matters (Killed all the Hacketts)
- The White Wolf (Killed Silas)
- Rough Night (Kept everyone alive)
For the best ending (everyone is alive at end), be sure to follow every decision and QTE exactly as described. Messing up the wrong QTE can cause a character to die instantly so be very careful. It is recommended to make a manual save game backup at the start of every chapter (PS4/PS5 Settings > Application Saved Data Management > USB or PS+ Cloud). If you make a mistake, you can copy back the save without having to replay the entire story. 90% of choices have no long-term consequences and only change the next line of dialogue. The important choices that impact anything can be seen in the pause menu under “Paths”. They will also show on-screen as “Path Chosen” or “Path Updated”. Any other choices don’t decide over life and death. If you mess anything up that doesn’t update a path don’t worry about it. Interacting with Collectibles and other objects in the environment is always fine and doesn’t affect anything in the story unless pointed out specifically in the walkthrough. Skipping optional dialogues is always fine.
During the story there is no chapter select! Only after the story you unlock chapter select, but it’s based on what decisions you made leading up to that certain chapter. Let’s say you were to mess up a QTE early on and a character dies as a result, then the character would still be dead in later chapters through chapter select, meaning you’d have to replay from the earlier chapter where that character died.
If you like, you can do a blind run first, but with this step by step guide you will easily have all characters surviving on the first run if you follow it exactly as described. Remember, if you make different choices, it can have serious consequences later on and the guide might no longer be applicable to you (because you’d get different dialogues or different scenes altogether).

Prologue
During the initial car ride there are some QTE events:
- PICK MAP
After exiting the car open the trunk.
- SNOOP
Laura finds a rejection letter. After a short talk with her boyfriend Max, interact with the glowing marker at the bottom edge of the screen to look into the woods. When talking to Max again:
- COMPLIANT “Hurry up!”
Laura will go to explore the woods on her own. There are some collectibles in this section where you can walk as her.
- Tarot #1: The Fool – take left path around rock to pick it up with /
- Feakshow Fire Clue #1: Harum Scarum Poster – next tree on the right
- Freakshow Fire Clue #2: Escapology Trunk – go right then at the fork go left, inside chest
- Freakshow Fire Clue #3: Broken Cage – next turn right, at end of side path
After grabbing the 4 collectibles follow the main path. Watch out for the QTEs coming up:
After you’re back in the car a cop (called Travis) will show up. Pick these dialogues:
- HONEST “Something jumped out”
- HONEST “It was dark”
- FRIENDLY “We’re heading to camp”
- COMPLIANT “We’ll head to the motel”
- RELIEVED “That guy was weird”
Even though you told the cop you’ll go to the motel, you’ll head to Hackett’s Quarry summer camp regardless. After the cutscene go downstairs, look in the direction where the car’s headlights are pointing, to a lit bunker door below the lodge. Laura wants to break in, you can choose how:
- TAKE WRENCHS
- CONFIDENT “Yeah, saw it online”
You’ll head downstairs into the bunker. Walk forward and you’ll automatically pick up a collectible during a cutscene:
- Camp History Clue #1: Bloodied Collar
After finding the Collar move forward to trigger the next cutscene. Next choice:
- HELP MAX
After the cutscene the chapter ends. Before the next chapter there will be an old woman talking to you, pick the left choice:
- MOVE ON (*You must always choose “MOVE ON” when talking to this woman to get the trophy Hard Pass after Chapter 9)
Chapter 1
During the first cutscene of Chapter 1 you’ll see the camp counselors saying goodbye to their campers, then they have a talk:
- REFLECTIVE “You never know”
You’ll now play as Jacob (guy in green sweater). There are 3 Collectibles in this section:
- Camp History Clue #2: Hunting Notice – from where you start turn right and walk between the two parked cars, at the edge of the area is a hunting sign to inspect
- Camp History Clue #3: Camp Plaque – from the hunting sign go upstairs (short cutscene at door). To the left of the door is a plaque on the wall, inspect it.
- Tarot #2: Temperance – From the plaque go left and through the window. Go into the next room that looks like a big dining hall, then turn right towards the locked main door and go left into the kitchen, the camera will change to see the Tarot for a brief moment
After grabbing all 3 items, grab the bags from the staircase to advance (it doesn’t matter if you talk to the two guys in the back of the lodge or if you interact with other items here, you can skip all else). After getting the bags you talk to Kaitlyn (black-haired girl) outside at the cars:
- PLAYFUL “What about you?”
- MISCHIEVOUS “Sexy?”
- BRAVE “It’s just a fling”
- STEAL ROTATOR ARM (*mandatory to get Evidence #3 in Chapter 3)
- QTE: (catches phone)
- FRIENDLY “At least I got some”
After this you’ll switch to a new place where Abigail (red-haired girl) & Emma (brunette girl) are talking:
- QTE:
- BREAK IN (important for next collectible)
Inside the hut move to the left of the screen and pick up the teddy, choose:
- KEEP (it can save your life later > this is also mandatory for trophy “The Final Girl”, don’t worry about it for now, just know this will be important later)
Now you can free-roam around the area. There are 4 Collectibles here:
- Freakshow Fire Clue #4: Newspaper Headline Scrap – inside the cabin on left side of screen between first and second row of bunkbeds
- Camp History Clue #4: Camp Song Recording – Head outside, move to right to cabin with “Room 08” above its entrance, in front of it is a radio on the ground
- Evidence #1: Empty Vial – Check the big tree in the center behind the swing
- Camp History Clue #5: Information Signpost – Check the signpost behind the big tree in center
That’s everything important here. Now head towards Emma at the other end of the area to leave. Talking to Emma:
- ENTHUSIASTIC “Let’s do it”
- QTE:
- SCENIC ROUTE
- SUPPORTIVE “I believe you”
After this you’ll drive back to the lodge where the group is talking:
- / NUDGE (interrupt event)
- FRIENDLY “Is it about me?”
- SUPPORTIVE “You should’ve seen the kids”
- UNDERSTANDING “No worries”
Chris Hackett (camp leader) will show up, Ryan follows him to his office. While Chris takes a phone call:
- EAVESDROP
- CONCERNED “Is everything okay?”
- APOLOGETIC “I didn’t realize”
- INQUISITIVE “Why?”
After Chris Hackett and Ryan head back outside to the others:
- QTE: (catch keys)
- COMPLIANT “Yeah, sure”
- INSISTENT “We follow Chris’s instructions”
- SUPPORTIVE “He was just concerned for us”
- RELUCTANT “Fine”
After this the chapter ends. During the interlude with the old woman choose:
- MOVE ON
Chapter 2
During the first cutscene as Emma:
- / KICK DOOR
After the cutscene you will enter a big storage room and can walk as Emma. There are 2 collectibles in this room:
- Freakshow Fire Clue #5: Damaged Memorabilia – from where you start behind the first shelf on the left
- Camp History Clue #6: Lodge Renovation Plans – at the end of the storage area on the right, next to a big wooden table
Whether you interact with other objects here or not doesn’t matter (there is an item pickup that lets you choose whether to scare Jacob or not but it doesn’t matter what you pick there or if you ignore it entirely).
After getting both collectibles interact with the door at the end of the storage area:
- CALL JACOB
Then you enter the locked “stash” room. After Jacob picks up the beer, there’s a collectible in here:
- Evidence #2: Torn Bags – check the bags in the right corner of the room
Also pick up the shotgun from the floor, which also has the safe code on it. Then talk to Jacob again to leave the room.
Walk back to the entrance. On your way out, Emma opens the safe automatically. Choose this:
- LEAVE FIREWORKS
- AFFECTIONATE “What are butterpops?”
The next scene is with Dylan & Ryan in Chris’ Office:
- FRIENDLY “What are you listening to now?”
Now you can explore Chris’ Office, there are 2 Collectibles here:
- Hackett History Clue #1: Family Photo – check photo on the desk
- Camp History Clue #7: Counselor’s Ledger – interact with trap door on floor behind desk, say the following and Dylan will pull this collectible from the desk drawer:
- SUSPICIOUS “Guess it goes to the basement”
- CLIMB DOWN
- PLAYFUL “Ring ring!”
- Can also check the phone next to trash bin:
- SARCASTIC “Nice for somebody to call you”
- Check Shotgun on Wall:
- SERIOUS “What if we need it?”
- (Note: interacting with shotgun on wall 3 times will make Ryan upset, this has no major consequence and doesn’t mess anything up but the nicest option is to only interact with it 1-2 times to not upset him)
- Interact with door next to shotgun:
- QTE:
After going through door, interact with the wardrobe/door in front of you:
- Mischievous “So he was looking for bigfoot”
- Inside you can inspect the screens
- Can check letter on box on right side
- Can check maps on wall
- Go back outside, right side check bathroom mirror
- Left side check bedroom guitar on wall
- Return to your charged phones on Chris’ office, to the right of Ryan, pick them up:
- HEAD TO PARTY
- (note: if you talk to Ryan repeatedly before interacting with charged phones he will get a little annoyed, doesn’t have any consequence and you can’t mess anything up here but it’s faster to skip talking to him and go straight to your phones).
Next scene is with Nick and Abigail walking in the woods. You will have to decide on which path to take, each one contains different collectibles and they cancel out each other for this playthrough (Shady Glade has 2 Clues: Hackett History Clue #2 & #3 / Rocky Road has 1 Tarot: Tarot #3). For this playthrough head to ROCKY ROAD and remember that you’ll have to go the other path on your next playthrough. Going to Rocky Road will let us get all Tarot Cards on this playthrough. You need to find all collectibles of a type in one single playthrough to earn the trophy (cannot be earned via chapter select).
- ROCKY ROAD (right choice)
There is 1 Collectible in Rocky Road:
- Tarot #3: The Hanged Man – At Rocky Road follow the left path, stay on the path and the camera will automatically change to an angle that shows the Tarot, above you on the mountain ridge.
After getting the Tarot keep following the left path until you get a cutscene:
- UNCERTAIN “I’m not sure we’re supposed to know”
Then go down the stairs to trigger the next cutscene:
- SINCERE “You’re really good”
- QTE: / SAVE ABI
- Hold Breath Event: hold / until the screen stops flashing red, when the breath bar is nearly depleted (no consequence if you mess up, just changes the next dialogue choice)
- CHEERFUL “Imagine the story…” (if you messed up the breath event it’ll be different but doesn’t have any consequence, it’s fine either way)
Next scene as Kaitlyn at lake:
- Move camera and press / to take photo
- (If you took a photo of the tree house you get an extra dialogue, pick “HONEST”. If not proceed to the next dialogue below – doesn’t impact anything whether you get this one or not)
- SERIOUS “You both okay?”
- STERN “Not leaving you with a gun”
Next scene with Nick/Jacob:
- HOPEFUL “It was okay”
- Shoot the melons and bottles with the shotgun. It doesn’t matter which ones you shoot. Jacob will always miss and then gets disqualified for mishandling the gun (even if you miss all shots you’ll automatically win by Jacob being disqualified).
- GLOATING “Butterpops theme”
Next scene is at the campfire at night:
- / INTERRUPT
- TRUTH (as Ryan)
- MISCHIEVOUS “The Hag of Hackett’s Quary”
- KAITLYN
- MISCHIEVOUS “Ever hook up with Jacob?”
That finishes the chapter. In the interlude with the old woman, as usual you can pick:
- MOVE ON (only if you found the Tarot on ROCKY ROAD – if you didn’t find it she’ll comment that you didn’t find anything)
Chapter 3
At the start of the chapter you will play as Abigail in the woods at night. There is 1 Collectible here, it’s easy to miss if you trigger a cutscene, so make a manual save backup just in case:
- Tarot #5: The Tower – follow the path in front of you until you see the camera changing to the Tarot in the tree above. Sometimes a cutscene will trigger before reaching it which would make you miss it.
After heading to the exit of the woods a cutscene will play where Nick calls out for Abi. Pick this:
- CALL BACK /
- HONEST “Got a little intense”
- CAUTIOUS “About what happened…”
- KISS /
- (At this point Nick always gets attacked no matter what, there is no way to prevent it)
- HELP NICK
- QTE:
- RUN
- Smash /
- DON’T “Climb Tree” (DON’T press / – let timer run out) > Abi will hide behind rocks instead
- Hold Breath Event: Hold / until the screen stops flashing red (when the breath bar is nearly depleted and the monster turns around) > this is important, if you mess this up you get bit by the monster, even though it doesn’t kill you the infection from it will vastly change how things play out. So don’t mess this up.
The next cutscene will be Jacob and Emma talking, no choices here. When you can walk as Jacob there are 4 Collectibles in the area:
- Tarot #4: The Star – from where you start move forward a few steps to leave the jetty and the camera will change to this Tarot.
- Hackett History Clue #4: No Swimming Sign – from the tarot head left, interact with the railing, facing the lake where Emma stands
- Freakshow Fire Clue #6: North Kill Gazette – turn around to find this opposite the railing
- Hackett History Clue #5: Old Camp Photo – go all the way left to the end of the boat house to find it on a wooden beam
- Optional – can interact with a boat at the shore on the far right (not a collectible, doesn’t do anything)
Now head upstairs into the boat house. Interact with the empty towel box. Optionally, in this room you can also interact with binoculars on the left and a paper on the right (they don’t count for anything). Head back to Emma at the lake to trigger a conversation:
- ENTHUSIASTIC “Cannoball!”
- DON’T Splash (DON’T press / )
- FLIRT “Take a photo of me”
- DIVE IN (*only available if you stole the Rotator Arm from the car in Chapter 1, if you broke fuel line Jacob will run off automatically. You need to Dive In to find Evidence #3)
- GRAB
- QTE:
- Jacob swims after the rotator arm and bumps into the bloated corpse underwater > Evidence #3: Bloated Corpse unlocked!
- DETANGLE
Next scene as Ryan:
- WORRIED “Where’s Nick?”
- ASSERTIVE “I’ve got this”
- TAKE SHORTCUT
- QTE: > > > smash /
- TAKE SHORTCUT
- QTE: > > > >
- Nick of Time Unlocked!
- SHOUT /
- SHOOT at big guy / (he gets hit but walks away and doesn’t die)
Next scene as Jacob:
- DON’T “Call Out” (DON’T press / )
- Smash /
- PLEADING “Let me down”
- DON’T “Throw Dirt” (DON’T press / ) > results in big guy smearing you with blood, this will protect you from the monsters and can save your life later
After this the chapter ends. During the interlude with old woman:
- MOVE ON
Chapter 4
During cutscene as Ryan while looking at Nick’s wound:
- / APPLY PRESSURE
- Smash /
- DISMISSIVE “Why?”
- / CALL OUT
- DON’T Shoot the gun at bushes (DON’T press buttons)
- DON’T Shoot the gun at bushes (DON’T press buttons) > this is important, it’s Jacob in the bushes and shooting would kill him. Just let the timer run out and don’t do anything.
- QUESTIONING “What happened to you?”
- LET GO /
- QTE:
Next section is Emma on the island. There are 4 Collectibles here, some of them are very easy to miss. Make a manual backup here to be safe.
- Tarot #7: The Magician – as soon as you control Emma, turn around and go down the docks, it’s at the end of the docks when camera angle changes
- Hackett History Clue #7: Box of Matches – advance to the staircase, take the RIGHT PATH (GROUND PATH). Along the path choose “REFLECTIVE”. Then on the left find a campfire and inspect it. DON’T INTERACT WITH THE LADDER AT END OF PATH (WILL MAKE YOU MISS NEXT COLLECTIBLE)!!!
- Hackett History Clue #6: Police Car Keys – Backtrack to the staircase (LEFT PATH). Then go up the stairs, in cutscene pick “COMPASSIONATE”. Go all the way to the end of staircase until you reach a hut (tree house). Inspect the keys in the window left of the door. DON’T GO THROUGH HUT DOOR YET (WILL MAKE YOU MISS THIS COLLECTIBLE)!!!
- Evidence #4: Attack Photo – Now go through the door to enter the hut, triggering a cutscene. You have to pick the following choices: “SEARCH BAG” > “USE TASER” > / “TAKE PHOTO”. This counts as the evidence collectible!
- QTE: > Smash / > SPRAY > > > BLOCK DOOR > USE TRAPDOOR > > FAIL QTE (DON’T ) > > FAIL QTE (DON’T / ) >
- (Emma escapes through the hatch but was bitten in her arm and leg. Failing the 2 QTEs marked in red here is important to get Emma injured for the trophy Nobody’s Fool which unlocks in Chapter 10. This won’t kill her. If you succeed the QTE instead of failing it you can still get the best ending for everyone surviving, but it will take you an extra playthrough to get the other trophy Nobody’s Fool. It’s best that you pause the game after each QTE to read the next input and be prepared for the ones to fail)
Next cutscene as Dylan (contains 1 Collectible):
- Tarot #6: Strength – constantly smash / to pick up the tarot when the group enters the building, it’s only available for a few seconds, easy to miss and no way back.
- OPTIMISTIC “I hope they’re gonna be okay”
- HOPEFUL “That’s good news!”
- DETERMIND “Call the cops”
- SUSPICIOUS “That’s weird”
- CALM “Only temporary”
- DEFENSIVE “Does she need it?”
- GIVE GUN
Next scene as Emma reeling the crank:
- REEL SLOWLY
- DON’T “Speed Up” (DON’T press / )
This ends the chapter. During the interlude with old woman choose:
- MOVE ON
Chapter 5
First cutscene with Nick and Abi talking:
- GRATEFUL “I’m okay”
- DON’T Speak Up (DON’T PRESS / )
- REASSURING “We’ll be fine, just be careful”
Next cutscene as Kaitlyn in Lodge:
- QTE:
- FAIL NEXT QTE: (DON’T press !) > Results in the big guy spotting you and throwing blood at you
- FAIL NEXT QTE: (DON’T press !) > Results in the big guy picking up the table
- SHOOT at the guy holding the table > This is mandatory so that he drops the Freakshow Fire Clue #9, then you can collect it later in Chapter 10!
Nick and Abi again:
- CONFIDENT “Don’t worry about Kaitlyn”
- INTRIGUED “I thought things would go further”
- HIDE
- Hold Breath Event: Hold / until screen stops flashing red (breath bar about 25% remaining when hunter walks away)
Next scene Dylan & Ryan, there are no dialogue choices during their talk. But when walking as Dylan at the lodges there are 5 collectibles:
- Hackett History Clue #8: Triggered Bear Trap – after arriving at the lodges check the far left side, there’s a bear trap on the ground in front of a fence.
- Camp History Clue #8: Letter to Camp Nurse – from the bear trap turn around and go to the right side of the lodges, in front of the lodge titled “Room 03” there’s a paper on the ground.
- Tarot #8: The Devil – from the paper turn around and go to the center where the big tree and swing are. Walk between the tables and the swing to see the tarot.
- Evidence #5: Claw Marks – Go to the end of the area where Ryan leads you (leave the circle of lodges), go to the hut in the corner at the end but DON’T GO INSIDE YET. To the left of the door of this hut are clawmarks on the wall to inspect.
- Tarrot #9: The Hermit – From the clawmarks turn left and go around the corner of this hut and the camera will show the tarot.
After grabbing all 5 items you can talk to Ryan who waits at the door to the hut. Then go inside by saying:
- CONFIDENT “All good”
Inside the Radio Hut as Ryan & Dylan:
- INTERESTED “How do you know this stuff?”
- CONCERNED “That’s totally us”
- APOLOGETIC “I wasn’t sure”
- DON’T Shoot (when aiming gun at ceiling press nothing)
- AGGRESSIVE “We gotta kill it”
- CONFIDENT “Why wouldn’t it be?”
- CALM “Take a breath”
- DESPERATE “Okay. Just hang on”
- CHAINSAW
- – Just a Flesh Wound Trophy Unlocked!
- UNCERTAIN “I don’t know”
Then just let the cutscenes play out until the chapter ends, no more choices here. When talking to the old woman between chapters again choose:
- MOVE ON
Chapter 6
At the start of the chapter you are walking around as Jacob. There are 2 Collectibles here:
- Evidence #6: Memory Card – As soon as you start walking as Jacob go up the wooden stairs and stick to the right side, at the end of the wooden walkway right is a camera you can pick up.
- Tarot #10: Justice – Go downstairs and exit the walkway. Then turn left and walk towards the end of the screen to see the Tarot. DON’T TAKE THE PATH TO THE RIGHT YET, IT TRIGGERS A CUTSCENE.
After getting the 2 Collectibles head right. During cutscene with Jacob & Emma:
- DELIGHTED “Am I glad to see you!”
- APOLOGETIC “Sh-t, sorry!”
- QTE:
- RUN
- Smash / while running
- PRY OPEN
Next scene as Kaitlyn:
- COMPASSIONATE “You okay?”

Next you play as Abigail and can walk around the pool house. There are 3 Collectibles here:
- Camp History Clue #11: Campers Photo – right side in the corner of the room on the wall
- Tarot #11: The Moon – turn left and enter the 3rd changing room (not the toilet rooms), move forward in the changing room to see it
- Camp History Clue #10: Spooky Drawing – leave the changing room and check the locker at the end of the hallway for a drawing
Return to Nick, talk to him:
- CALM “I’ve really enjoyed spending time with you”
- COMPASSIONATE “I do like you”
- SHOOT SHOTGUN AT NICK (when Abi picks up Shotgun you HAVE TO SHOOT, press / to shoot) > this is very important! If you don’t shoot Nick, Abi dies. Nick will survive being shot and turns into a monster. This is a scripted unavoidable part of the story and cannot be prevented no matter what choices you make leading up to this. It always happens. This is fine and we can save “Monster Nick” later on, he’s not considered “dead”. After Nick turns into a monster he’ll run off without attacking Abi (because she shot him he got scared off and won’t attack).
Next you’ll play as Emma, there is 1 Collectible here:
- Camp History Clue #9: Kid’s Letter Home – from where you start playing Emma turn right to find it in front of a tent.
Now as Emma follow the path leading away from the campfire. You can inspect the rubble at the end of the path (optional, no consequence). Then you can take the left or right path, it doesn’t matter which you take. There are no collectibles on either path. There is 1 interactable along each path but they are of no consequence and don’t do anything (left path has an animal carcass to inspect, right path has a hunter’s trap to inspect). Both paths come out at the exact same point, always leading to the exact same cutscene that follows. For the purpose of this walkthrough let’s just take the left path (again doesn’t matter, same outcome). After you reach the end of the path at the top of the hill, the cutscene starts:
- RUN (DO press / ) > this results in Emma being injured but she doesn’t die from it, this is a mandatory step to get Nobody’s Fool in this playthrough
- REASSURING “You did what you had to”
- SUSPICIOUS “Who is it?”
- INTERESTED “I’m gonna open the door”
This ends the chapter. When talking to the old woman between chapters:
- MOVE ON
Chapter 7
Cutscene with Laura:
- DON’T Call Out (DON’T press / )
- COMPLIANT “Laura Kearny”
- COMPLIANT “Fine”
- INTRIGUED “Okay Sheriff”
- PLEADING “Please stop trying to intimidate me”
- DON’T Lash Out (DON’T press / )
- CONCERNED “Are you okay?”
- DISAPPOINTED “I was hoping you might know”
- COMPLIANT “Sorry sir”
- WORRIED “Leave him alone”
Next you can walk as Laura in her cell, there are 2 collectibles here:
- Tarot #13: The World – Inside the cell move towards the bed and back again towards the door and you’ll see the card under the bed.
- Hackkett History Clue #9: Scrawled Limerick – Interact with the right wall.
- Inspect the left corner of the room (left of bed) to view the wall.
- Interact with the bed to find a spoon. Laura will use it to loosen up the stone in the wall.
After this a new cutscene will start, Laura talking to Travis (cop):
- FEARFUL “We’ll answer your questions”
- SERIOUS “Are you okay?”
- REFLECTIVE “He’s not acting like a kidnapper”
- ENCOURAGING “This isn’t forever”
- EMPATHETIC “I’m sorry, Max”
- CALM “You want answers?”
- CURIOUS “What if we get on his good side?”
- OPTIMISTIC “I think we should try”
- SKEPTICAL “Really?!”
- DON’T Call for help (DON’T press / )
- COMPASSIONATE “I’m here”
After this you can free-roam through the police station as Laura. There are 4 more Collectibles here and some other interactables:
- Tarot #12: The Chariot – in the lobby walk between the tables to see it
- Evidence #7: Cease & Desist Letter – downstairs, up the little stairs in the corner
- Freakshow Fire Clue #7: Charred Sheriff’s Badge – upstairs in 2nd office on right side after entering
- Hackett History Clue #10: Bizzare Yet Bonafide Podcast – inspect the birthday card in 1st office upstairs and the calendar in 3rd office upstairs (also inspect locker here to get a syringe). Then head downstairs where you found the Evidence collectible and enter the cop’s office, use the computer. Laura will use the clues she got from the upstairs offices to put together Travis’ birthday and use it as the password. This awards the collectible.
- Bizzare Yet Bonafide Trophy Unlocked!
- Reminder: If you haven’t already, go back upstairs into the 3rd office to open the locker and get the syringe. This will come in handy soon!
- Optional Interactables (doesn’t matter if you interact with these or not, they don’t count as anything and have no consequences): There is also a clue in the office with the computer, on the wall. Can also interact with all the doors in the lobby. Feel free to interact or skip, no consequence.
After you got the syringe and the 4 collectibles return to your prison cell, interact with the loose stone on the left wall to hide the syringe. Then interact with the bed and go to sleep:
- GO TO SLEEP
Next Cutscene with Laura:
- HONEST “I won’t leave Max”
- CONFIDENT “Let’s end it”
- Interrupt Event: DON’T Take Gun (DON’T press / )
- CONFUSED “Why didn’t you kill it?”
- ENCOURAGING “So what’s the plan?”
- RESIGNED “I believe him”
- EMPATHETIC “That wasn’t you”
- QTE:
- QTE (when Travis checks up on Laura in her cell and she uses syringe): > this will make Laura ram the syringe into Travis to make him fall asleep without killing him. (Note: if you hadn’t taken/hidden the syringe, Laura would have to steal his gun, if that’s the case for you be very sure to successfully finish the QTE with the gun and choose not to shoot Travis. Shooting Travis would have lethal consequences for you later on).
- ANXIOUS “Not until Chris is dead”
- REASSURING “They’re probably fine”
- SHOW BITE
After this you get another cutscene with Jacob:
- PLEADING “Please let me go” (not saying anything is also fine)
Then the chapter ends. As usual during the interlude with old woman:
- MOVE ON
Chapter 8
First cutscene as Ryan & Laura:
- UNCERTAIN “Kaitlyn, what do I do?”
- CURIOUS “You said you heard a woman?”
- SUSPICIOUS “What are you doing?”
- GUARDED “What makes you think I know?”
- COMPASSIONATE “Maybe there’s another way”
- FRIENDLY “Chris has nothing to do with this”
- INQUISITIVE “Have you been there?”
- REFLECTIVE “No one knows anybody”
- COMPASSIONATE “I get it, he’s your friend”
Next you’ll walk around as Laura in a cave, there are 5 Collectibles here:
- Hackett History Clue #11: Old Quarry Tools – When you start walking in the cave you can find it at the stairs
- Hackett History Clue #12: Miner’s Lunchbox – Don’t go up the stairs yet. From the previous item turn around and go to the end of the cave to find a box.
- Tarot #15: The Lovers – Now go up the stairs, advance until you get two more cutscenes and go to the next cave section after that. Then walk towards the very left where a railing is to have the camera change to the Tarot. Don’t approach the metal stairs leading up the end of the straight path yet.
- Evidence #8: Scarred Flesh – Now go to the metal stairs to trigger a cutscene. Press QTE . After reaching the top of the stairs it’s on the ground in front of the next walkway.
- Tarot #16: Wheel of Fortune – Keep advancing through the cave until you get a cutscene, pick “PATIENT”, then smash / to do so. Afterward you’re in a tunnel, you’ll automatically see the Tarot while going through the tunnel, no way around it.
After the Tarot go to the tunnel exit. In the next room is another optional interactable to the right of the door (no consequence). Then interact with the door to trigger a cutscene.
Next cutscene as KAITLYN – The next scene requires making a tricky shot at a running enemy, if you miss that shot Abi dies. It is highly recommended you back up your save game now before proceeding! Read what follows in full so you’re prepared for when to shoot:
- HONEST “My bad…”
- SHOOT (only available if Emma was bitten by monster in Chapter 4 Treehouse – otherwise you get ENCOURAGING “I need you”)
- SHOOT AT RUNNING MOSTER / (Be Prepared!: you aim your gun just a few seconds after choosing the previous “SHOOT”. The monster will run from the right side of the screen to the left. You must fire the gun as the monster passes by where you’re aiming. The time to shoot is 1 second after you start aiming your gun. Do not move the gun around, shoot at precisely the moment when the monster lines up with where Kaitlyn aims the gun. It’s a very short time window and a tricky shot to make. That’s why you should back up your save beforehand).
- SHOOT AT MONSTER ON CAR ROOF
- REGULAR SHOT (this is important for Nobody’s Fool, if you use Silver Shells it kills the monster and voids the trophy)
After this you’ll walk as Ryan with Laura in the basement of the Hackett’s house. There are 3 Collectibles here:
- Tarot #14: The Empress – immediately after you start walking as Ryan turn left and enter the side room, move around the room to see the Tarot
- Hackett History Clue #13: Rum Still – same room, interact with the distillery machine
- Tarot #17: The Emperor – backtrack to where you started and follow the straight tunnel and you’ll see it when approaching the end of the tunnel. DON’T ENTER THE RED LIGHT TUNNEL UNTIL YOU GOT THIS.
There is another optional interactable on the right (cap of shelf). After getting all 3 items, approach the tunnel with red light coming from it, which triggers another cutscene:
- QTE:
- Interrupt Event: DON’T “Open Cage” (DON’T press / )
- Interrupt Event: STOP LAURA / > This is important, if you don’t stop her she will shoot the monster in the cage (who is Nick, the guy who turned into a monster earlier)
- HELP JACOB (important, otherwise he gets killed at end of Chapter 9)
- CHOOSE BREAKERS 1+2
- CONTINUE
- CHOOSE BREAKERS 2+3 > Jacob gets released from cage (thus he is saved from death later)
After the series of cutscenes the chapter will finish. As usual, during interlude with old woman pick:
- MOVE ON
Chapter 9
During first cutscene with Dylan & Kaitlyn:
- POSITIVE “I guess it is kinda unique”
- CURIOUS “Think we missed our shot?”
During next cutscene as Laura & Ryan:
- When the old woman and Laura struggle for gun, smash / to shoot her (Constance Hackett killed – remember we need to kill all of the Hacketts for trophy Family Matters – they are our enemies and don’t void the “Everyone Survived” trophy, can’t save them all anyway. We will kill all Hacketts to maximize our trophies in this playthrough.)
- QTE:
- (Ryan gets stabbed at this point but this is fine and won’t kill him, don’t worry about this)
- Interrupt Event: DON’T “Pull Knife” (DON’T press / ) > the knife is important for later
You now can walk as Ryan. In the room where you start are 2 Collectibles:
- Evidence #9: Kaylee’s Letter – From where you start on the right on cupboard
- Tarot #18: Death – From last item walk diagonally through room towards bed to see the Tarot
Next interact with the cabinet on the right (opens up option to hide in it later) and check the bed in the middle. The right door is locked. To advance interact with the left door, which triggers a series of choices:
- HIDE
- IN CABINET (only available if you investigated the cabinet before)
- Hold Breath Event: Hold / (release when screen stops flashing red, at about 5% breath remaining)
- QTE: Smash /
Next scene as Laura:
- HIDE
- Hold Breath Event: Hold / (release when screen stops flashing red, at about 5% breath remaining)
The next room Laura enters has a piano and blue wallpaper. There are 3 Collectibles here:
- Hackett History Clue #15: Hunting Trophy Wall – check wall at bottom of stairs
- Hackett History Clue #16: Hackett Family Tree – go upstairs, in the office in corner
- Tarot #19: The Sun – upstairs in the 2nd room, walk towards windows to see it (don’t approach the door until you grabbed it)
After finding all these items you can approach the door. Pick the following:
- QTE: > >
- ATTACK
- Smash / > Kills Jediah Hackett (again this is one of the Hacketts we must kill for for trophy Family Matters).
Next scene as Ryan:
- QTE:
- QTE:
- Hold Breath Event: Hold / (release when screen stops flashing red, at about 40% breath remaining, don’t wait longer or else the big guy comes back)
- Interrupt Event: STAB / > it’s important you stab Bobby Hackett (the big guy) so that he dies at end of Chapter 9. It’s the only way to kill him for trophy Family Matters. He won’t die instantly, it happens later automatically as a consequence.
- SYMPATHETIC “It’s not your fault…”
- ACCEPT (this is important for Ryan to survive)
- Interrupt Event: DON’T Pull Away (DON’T press / )
- Phlebotomy Trophy Unlocked!
Next scene you’ll walk around as Dylan & Kaitlyn at the Scrapyard. There are 3 Collectibles here:
- Hackett History Clue #14: Scrapyard Note – In the garage on the right, upstairs, end of the walkway (there’s another clue upstairs that doesn’t count as a Collectible)
- Tarot #20: Judgement – Go back downstairs in the garage, press button on table to open gate to next scrapyard section. Keep going straight until you reach metal stairs leading up to a container roof, then walk across the container roof to see the Tarot. DON’T GO TO THE YELLOW CRANE YET! THIS AND THE NEXT COLLECTIBLE WILL BE MISSED IF YOU GO TO THE YELLOW CRANE, MAKE A MANUAL BACKUP TO BE SAFE HERE!
- Freakshow Fire Clue #8: Discarded Signage – From the container roof where you grabbed the Tarot, there are two sets of metal stairs leading down on the other side. Go down one of those stairs, at the bottom between both staircases is a sign with green paint on it, inspect it. DON’T GO TO THE YELLOW CRANE YET!
After grabbing all 3 collectibles you are good to approach the yellow crane. This triggers a cutscene with more choices:
- ENCOURAGING “Watch my back”
- WARN KAITLYN
- QTE:
- SOUND HORN
- Smash / to fend off the monster (if you fail this Dylan will die, so don’t mess up)
- QTE:
- Smash /
Next you’ll be playing as Abigail and can walk around in the dark bunker basement. There’s 1 Collectible here:
- Tarot #21: The Hierophant – as soon as you start walking as Abi, walk towards the staircase on the right side to see this.
Then walk towards the left side (straight across from staircase with tarot card), there’s a lit area with a fuse box on the wall. Inspect the fuse box, Abi finds Silver Shells on it that will come in handy soon (don’t go up the ladder on the left until you picked this up).
After you did this you can proceed to go up the ladder on the left.
Next scene as Laura in attic of Hackett’s House:
- Walk straight forward to trigger two cutscenes
- Laura turns into a monster at this point. This is normal, it always happens and cannot be avoided regardless of any choices you made up to this point. This doesn’t kill her, she’s not considered dead.
- Bobby Hackett killed by monster (needed for trophy Family Matters, he’s one of our enemies from the Hackett family, they must all die and don’t void the “Everyone Survived” trophy, him dying is the outcome we want to maximize our trophies in this run)
- SHOOT Monster when aiming shotgun (Chris Hackett killed) > if you fail this then Ryan dies which we don’t want
- Laura turns normal again, we lifted her curse by killing Chris Hackett. Travis puts away the silver mirror blade and doesn’t kill Laura, this is because we were nice to him earlier and Laura didn’t shoot him in his cell. If Laura would have shot him in the Chapter 7 prison cell then Travis would automatically stab Laura at this point. Then you’d have to replay all the way from Chapter 7.
- SUSPICIOUS “Why should I trust you?”
- Trophy Unlocked! – Above the Law (Travis and Laura agreed to work together)
This finishes the chapter.
During the interlude with the old woman, if you found Tarot #21: The Hierophant you’ll get a special flashback scene. During this scene:
- QTE:
Chapter 10
If you followed the instructions and killed Chris Hackett (in his monster form), you will have lifted Max’s curse and will start out Chapter 10 as Max.
There are no collectibles here as Max but a few clues (no consequences from those). To the right of where you start is a campfire. Follow the path to find a pink cap. Walk towards the docks to trigger a cutscene, choose this:
- STAY (very important, if you “swim to shore” Max dies)
Next you’ll play Kaitlyn in the lodge, there are 7 Collectibles here:
- Camp History Clue #12: Camp Letter – go up the first staircase on the right, then turn left and enter the bedroom, check paper on the floor.
- Tarot #22: The High Priestess – exit bedroom and go up the stairs next to bedroom door, walk around on the top floor to see tarot.
- Hackett History Clue #19: Ancestral Portrait – go back down one floor (floor where the bedroom is), then head to the other side of that floor, halfway to the other side you find a portrait on the wall. Inspect it and pick “KEEP SEARCHING” (important, otherwise you’ll miss the next 3 collectibles).
- Freakshow Fire Clue #9: If in Chapter 5 Kaitlyn was spotted by the Bobby while hiding on the stairs and shot at him (succeeded first QTE > failed second & third QTE or failed Hold Breath Event > Shot at Bobby while he was holding the Table), then during this encounter Bobby will have dropped the Freakshow Fire #9 clue and you can now collect it in Chapter 10. It’s next to the Ancestral Portrait. If you got a different outcome in Chapter 5, you’ll need to replay from Chapter 5 onward and recollect all clues again to get the trophy.
- Hackett History Clue #17: Chalkboard Doodle – from the portrait reach the other end of this floor and enter the classroom, check the whiteboard.
- Hackett History Clue #18: Inscribed Jewelry – exit classroom and go upstairs, check the couch upstairs.
- Evidence #10: Trail Cam Footage – same place as the last clue (upstairs), check the boxes on the side
There are a bunch of optional interactables around the lodge but they are not of any consequence. After grabbing all collectibles you can return to the portrait collectible upstairs and choose “PREPARE FOR ATTACK”. This will trigger a cutscene where Emma and Jacob reunite (if you followed the instructions, got Emma bitten in Chapter 4 and Jacob is alive but not infected):
- HONEST “Yeah”
- REMORSEFUL “It’s My Fault We’re Here”
- APOLOGETIC “I’m sorry” > Nobody’s Fool trophy unlocked! This is for Jacob telling Emma the truth.
The next scene switches back to Kaitlyn for the final showdown, pick the following:
- RUN
- BEAM
- Smash /
- RUN
- INVESTIGATE (only if Abi/Emma are alive and picked up the silver shells in Chapter 9 bunker)
- SHOOT ( / ) > this will kill Caleb Hackett, needed for Family Matters.
Next cutscene as Laura driving in car with Ryan & Travis:
- INQUISITIVE “What exactly happened 6 years ago?”
- QTE
- GRAB GUN
- TAKE COVER
- QTE:
- DETERMINED “Let’s fucking do this”
- GIVE TO RYAN
- PROBING “Who was she?”
- REFLECTIVE “That’s why you’ve been hunting him”
- Interrupt Event: DON’T “Raise Gun” at Monster Silas (DON’T press / ) > we still need to kill Travis Hackett for Family Matters and this is an important step for that!
- FAIL THE QTE (DON’T PRESS ) > results in Travis Hackett killed – he’s the last Hackett we need for Family Matters (trophy unlocks after story) – if you were to succeed the QTE then either Silas would kill Laura or Travis would survive, failing the QTE is important
- SHOOT MONSTER SILAS when aiming gun at him (PRESS / ) > this is important, otherwise he kills Laura.
- The White Wolf Trophy Unlocked! (for killing Silas)
THE END.
Epilogue
Just let the remaining cutscenes play out, at the end you’ll see a recap of who died and who survived.
In preparation for your next Chapter Select Playthrough, take a moment to open the Collectible Menu and make note of what you’re missing before the final cutscenes finish. There’s no way to check Collectibles from the Title Screen.
If you followed all steps you will earn Everyone Survived (all playable characters survived) & Family Matters (killed all the Hacketts).
If you didn’t miss any Collectibles on this playthrough you should only be needing 2 clues: Hackett History Clue #2: Ranger Box, Hackett History Clue #3: Trail Camera.
It is recommended that you make a manual save backup at this point. This is just as a precaution so you have a completed game save to fall back to. On PS4/PS5: Go to console settings > Saved Data Management > Saved Data PS4/PS5 > Copy to USB (PS4 only) or PS+ Cloud (PS4/PS5). On PC you can go to C: Drive > Users > Your Username > AppData > Local > TheQuarry > Saved > Copy and paste this into another folder so you can copy it back later.
WARNING: ALL COLLECTIBLE PROGRESS GETS RESET WHEN STARTING A NEW GAME! YOU CAN USE CHAPTER SELECT TO GET MISSING COLLECTIBLES BUT IT WILL RESET TO WHAT YOU HAD AT THE START OF THE CHAPTER, EVERYTHING FROM THAT POINT ON MUST BE RECOLLECTED AGAIN, YOU NEED ALL COLLECTIBLES OF A TYPE IN ONE PLAYTHROUGH TO GET THE COLLECTIBLE TROPHY IN CHAPTER 10! WHEN USING CHAPTER SELECT YOU MUST REPLAY ALL CHAPTERS FROM THAT POINT ONWARD UNTIL THE END OF THE GAME TO RE-UNLOCK CHAPTER SELECT.
That finishes the “Everyone Survives” Walkthrough.

Vardioc1 says
What changes if we try to go get the car part underwater as Jacob?
PowerPyx says
Jacob dives after it but gets tangled up in some barbed wire under water. It doesn’t kill him but he always loses the rotator cap in the lake, it’s lost there forever and cannot be recovered.
Danny says
That tarot card on chapter 3 is a nightmare especially when you can’t make manual saves on xbox ?
Killbomb says
You can quickly quit the game from the dashboard if you accidentally trigger the cutscene before getting the card. That’s what I was able to do and it started me at the beginning of the chapter when I loaded the game.
Dan says
Chapter 2
Next scene as Kaitlyn at lake:
Directly after the photograph I got HONEST/FRUSTRATED dialogue option not mentioned in the guide. Picked honest, hopefully it doesn’t affect anything.
PowerPyx says
This was right before the PLAYFUL/SERIOUS choice for you? I didn’t get this dialogue, re-checked my recordings.
I’m sure it doesn’t matter. The only choices that have any impact whatsoever are under “Paths” in the pause menu. Any other decisions & QTEs have no long-lasting effects (about 90%-95% of choices don’t actually matter).
Deluziion90 says
I also got the Honest / frustrated option. This was just before using the camera.
G says
If you end up taking a picture of the tower instead of something (like the lake/sunset instead), the picture will capture the light being on in the tower and the HONEST/FRUSTRATED dialogue will be added with Kaitlyn.
Dan says
Replayed chapter 2. The extra dialogue seem to show up if Kaitlyn take a photo of the tree house. And it doesn’t affect anything, other than it threw me off when trying to follow the guide 🙂
PowerPyx says
That might be it then. I took the photo of the top right side of the screen rather than the tree house. I’ll add a note to the walkthrough about it. Good spotting on your part, and thanks for letting me know! 🙂
Wally says
Why do you recommend consistently choosing MOVE ON when talking to the old woman? Does it affect anything?
PowerPyx says
To save time.
Choosing the other option shows you a possible future if you picked up the Tarot Cards. Either option is fine and doesn’t impact the story or any of the dialogues that follow.
There is also a trophy for which the unlock requirements are currently unknown: “Refused Eliza’s help”. That old woman between chapters is called Eliza. I figured never getting a Tarot Reading would unlock the trophy but it didn’t, so there seems to be more to it.
Dave says
Since new patch, if you move on at end of chapters and get bonus scene then you unlock the trophy. I just got it
GPAP360 says
Some info about the collectibles on the forest on chapter 2, MAYBE we can find a way to obtain all in just 1 playtrought.
When you get there on Chapter 2 select ROCKY ROAD (right choice). Then pick Tarot #3: The Hanged Man as normal.
Keep playing normaly till Chapter 3, when you play as Abigail on the forest at night pick the Tarot #5: The Tower as normal AND YOU CAN PICK Hackett History Clue #3: Trail Camera too if you go to the same place (that little tree on the side of the way) BUT the Hackett History Clue #2: Ranger Box is not in his original place (the same one if you pick this way on chapter 2) or at least i can’t find there.
Could it be that if you follow this “route” the Hackett History Clue #2: Ranger Box appear somewhere else?
Sarah says
There is literally no manual saving in this game like you mentioned in this guide, just wanted you to know. Otherwise, this guide helped!
PowerPyx says
What I mean is you can back up save like other games.
PS4/PS5 Console Settings > Saved Data Management > Copy to USB or PS+.
On PC you can find the saves folder under AppData / Local / The Quarry
On Xbox there is no good way to back up save as you’re limited to 1 online cloud backup.
anasterion says
Thanks for the guide. I have a question. Does enabling aim assist void any trophies? I can’t seem to understand how to shoot big guy in chapter 3. I aim flashlight (as there is no pointer) at big guy and then press R2, but everytime I miss and Nick bites that guys hand. And it’s like this 3 times in a row… Checked the guide and don’t see any mentioning whether aim assist void any trophy. Thanks!
anasterion says
Enabled auto aim to at least see where flashlight points in that case. And it was bottom left corner, so guys right leg. Then reloaded save back up, aimed to that spot with auto aim turned off and got it first try. Strange…
Russ says
Wondering if any of the accessibility options disable trophies… will help in making sure everyone lives
PowerPyx says
Personally I didn’t enable any of the accessibility options. Someone else here commented they didn’t get the trophy for breath events with the accessibility enabled, but I can’t confirm it myself.
Better to be safe and keep the accessibility features turned off. Would be good to get additional confirmation if anyone wants to test.
Rockhopper78 says
I can confirm that enabling accessibility options doesn’t disable trophies. Except the breathing one which was mentioned. I got that one my first play without anything turned on. I just did a second playthrough for everyone lives using this walkthrough. I had qte set to any and aim set to auto for entire game except a couple spots like chapter 4, so it didn’t shoot Jacob and in the radio hut so it didn’t shoot roof. I just paused and turned off auto then reenabled it after. Still got trophies for killing all hacketts and everyone lives. And some others I missed my first playthrough.
victheterror says
missing that shot doesn’t matter! i missed it myself and figured i’d have to replay the last scene in order to save Ryan (as he wouldn’t have the blood he picks up after you shoot the big guy) but, so long as you follow the other instructions for the last scene, Ryan survives just fine!
Dreadful says
In chapter 1, I didn’t see the QTE for the water bottle. Did I miss something? Just went straight to keys
PowerPyx says
If you didn’t get it I’m not sure why, but it shouldn’t matter either way. That QTE is of no consequence, the car will be on fire regardless.
Dreadful says
Seems if you choose the rotor arm it doesn’t start a fire, so no water needed.
OTPYG says
I didn’t get it either and followed the guide to a tee. Here’s hoping it doesn’t matter!!
Chris says
idk if anyone else is having this issue, but my achievement didn’t pop for finishing chapter 2…..i am on chapter 5 and gotten the achievements for all the chapters so far accept 2…any ideas as to why?
Aran says
Yeah I had that too because my Xbox lost connection for a bit, I had to replay that chapter to get it
Ian says
“Messing up the wrong QTE can cause a character to die instantly so be very careful. It is recommended to make a manual save game backup at the start of every chapter (PS4/PS5 Settings > Application Saved Data Management > USB or PS+ Cloud).”
I have a question. If you go into accessibility settings and enable “Simple QTES – QTE’s will succeed automatically” or “Any” does that void any trophies?
PowerPyx says
Yes, you must FAIL some QTEs. If you use the autocomplete accessibility you will definitely miss out on some trophies.
Emily says
What if we want Travis saved and don’t care about that trophy? Can he survive as well as Laura and Ryan?
PowerPyx says
Yes. Just succeed the final QTE instead of failing it and he’ll survive.
Dreadful says
Do we ever get to actually READ Kaylees letter? Removing the text from this game is a real step back. I know you can look at things again to get the option, but if you remove and item (the letter) you never get to know what it said.
Albileo says
You can hear it read during the ending podcast when they go over the evidence
caldridge says
For the “everyone survives” playthrough, did you recently (since June 14) add the Nobody’s Fool requirements into the guideline? I got everything else but somehow missed all of those components in every chapter. I’m just trying to see if I’m losing my mind haha.
Thanks for the guide. I imagine this takes a ton of work to put together.
PowerPyx says
Yes Nobody’s Fool was recently added. At the time of writing it wasn’t known how to unlock it. Can actually be combined with Everyone Survives to combine as much as possible and save time.
Dan says
I never got the entire shooting section at the end of chapter 8 as kaitlyn, it let me choose up until I select that you need Dylan to fix the car and then Emma and abi walk off as does kait and Dylan, weird
RedVoltzz says
The shooting sequence only happens if Emma got bit, if she was bit then it would have been a Werewolf in the van when Dylan opened it, if she wasn’t bit then she would be human
Carljthatsme says
Argh I keep messing up hitting Bobby when he picks up the table in chapter 5. I either have to restart the entire game or finish it and replay from chapter 5 onwards and hope all collectibles and choices carry on properly.
Whoever came up with the chapter select feature in this game should never work in the industry again.
BeardedDecay says
In my playing with fire path it says Emma was attacked and bitten, leaving her infected. But when I got to the point in chapter 8 she was fine and did not get the shooting sequence. Did I miss something?
PowerPyx says
Did you get her infected in Chapter 4 as well as Chapter 6?
If she only gets infected in Chapter 6 the infection won’t spread by the time of Chapter 8. You have to get her infected in Chapter 4 by failing the two QTEs to get the shooting sequence in Chapter 8.
Cornilius says
Do you think they will release a patch where you dont lose all your collectibles when using chapter select someday ? I dont want to restart from chapter 3 for 2 collectibles lol.
Drake says
For Freakshow Fire Clue #9 is there any difference in shooting the table vs shooting him in the leg?
Russ dornisch says
I followed the guide to a T and got a different chapter 9 that should be mentioned. I had an extra scene towards the beginning with Emma and Abigail in the basement with two dialogue choices. Then when I selected the ladder later on the second part of the basement, Emma turned and tried attacking me. I had to decide stairs or ladder and chose ladder and had a button mash QTE. Not sure what consequences it had but should be shown in the guide as it was from following every step to a T.
Also I did not have to shoot Emma as a warewolf in the chapter before because she hadn’t turned yet, again based on choices that were outlined in this guide from earlier.
PowerPyx says
If you got that scenario it means you didn’t fail the QTE as Emma in Chapter 4 Treehouse (as instructed in the Walkthrough). If she gets bitten in Chapter 4 she turns in Chapter 8 and isn’t in the Chapter 9 bunker with Abi. If you deviate from the walkthrough anywhere you will get different outcomes later in the game and the steps will no longer apply to you.
Casper says
Can I collect all the collectibles in other playthrough eg: everyone dies, everyone infencted, Peanut Butter Butterpops? I am asking because I saved everyone in first playthrough but I didnt’t collected all the collectibles.
badwclf says
In chapter 8 if you miss the shot at infected Emma and get Abigail killed, does it void any trophies other than everyone surviving? And does it affect any collectables?
Fandi says
shot her …… Every time. But don’t use the silver shot. I got blood pact still and kept them both alive.
s says
Is there any point in collecting the clues in this playthrough if we have to recollect all of them anyway in the everyone infected playthrough?
PowerPyx says
I’d still recommend getting them on the 1st run. That’s because everything in this game is missable and already knowing where the clues are will help you not miss anything on the next playthrough. It only adds a few minutes to the playthrough and is minimal work. Plus it forces full exploration of the environment so you’ll already know where everything is.
Fandi says
Agreed. I’ve done until dawn like that till I got all the clues. Each time was easier and faster.
Matthew says
I missed the monster shot as Kaitlyn in chapter 8, and was forced to use a life to save Abi.
Does this void the trophy? TIA
PowerPyx says
Using a life is fine.
Cunfuzzled says
Great guide! I did mess up by walking a step too far before getting Tarot #5 – The Tower. It saved progress during the cutscene so now I have to play the whole damn game again. I hate when games have horrible save points.
TheWiggz says
I don’t understand why it matters if we have all but two of the clues at the end of this playthrough if we have to collect them all again on another playthrough.
PowerPyx says
For trophy purposes there’s no point in getting them on the 1st run, but I wanted to make the Walkthrough as complete as possible so I included them. Had I not, surely people would complain about it.
chi says
anyone else get ti chapter 10 and run as kaitlyn only for kaitlyn and dylan to die, wtff
Sonny says
Hello. Great everything.. What do I do in chapter 10 when I start out as Emma? I didn’t get max. ??
Thank you .
Kim says
Same I started as Emma
Andrew says
Same here, did you end up figuring it out? Like does it effect the trophy for everybody surviving or anything?
Shanked! says
@Sonny + Others
I just started this run/game and same thing happened.
Apparently, you don’t play as Emma at all, it’s just a short cutscene. And no, it shouldn’t affect this guide, if you have been following closely.
Lacek84 says
I was able to get the camera evidence in chapter 3 before get the tarrot card. Isn’t there any way to get the very last one in one to get all collebtibles in one playthrough?? No way there is no way for that :D
Phill says
Messing up the Kaitlyn shooting Caleb in chapter 10 is really easy to do. If you don’t time it right or if you shoot too soon Kaitlyn will cop it from monster Caleb. I would recommend backing up your save when it switches to Abi passing the silver shell under the door. Took me a good 6 tries before I worked out exactly when to shoot with Kaitlyn. Ended up finishing the game and replaying chapter 10 as I forgot to back it up.
MQ says
Same here, I followed it precise and when I missed the first qte she just got bit on the neck and has been killed?
Armitage says
Yes, the correct sequence is:
Pass 1st QTE / Fail 2nd QTE (injured arm) / Pass 3rd QTE / Fail Button Mash (this results in her getting bit in the leg on the ladder) / Pass 4th QTE.
Whether or not it is absolutley necessary for her to be injured twice idk.
Hope this helps.
Synczx says
What do I do when I start chapter 10 as Emma instead of max?
Andrew says
I also have gotten to Chapter 10 and have started as Emma, not Max even though I followed this guide to a T thus far so I’m a little concerned. I wonder if something has changed with an update or something, did you end up figuring it out? I feel like it doesn’t matter but I just want to make sure.
BlueReflection says
Sorry, late comment, as I JUST started the game.
It does not matter. It’s a very short cut-scene as Emma, then automatically goes to Max (playable).
Hopefully this comment helps the newcomers (like me)!
Ítalo says
since we can’t collect all clues on this playthrough due to choosing rocky road and they don’t carry over, what’s the point of them being mentioned here?
Ítalo says
oops, sorry. I didn’t read the comments above where you explained why. Awesome guide, btw. Thanks!
CharlieB says
Collectibles are wiped when selecting a chapter from beyond that point, and you have to do a near full playthrough in order to get just 2 collectibles even if you got all the rest first time around?! Seriously?! That’s dumb.
vachi says
I got the Hackett History Clue #3: Trail Camera on my first playthrough. So right now I’m just missing the Hackett History Clue #2: Ranger Box.
Ben says
Can you not get the “You’re Breathtaking” trophy by putting the Hold Breath sequences on Auto? I had it on Auto the whole game and had done definitely done over five times but didn’t get the trophy.
Bjartskular says
In Chapter 10, when you play as Max, you can grab the box of matches next to the campfire. You start at the end of the ground path when the scene starts and you only need to veer to the right slightly to see it.
Levi says
For anyone really trying to minimize replays, play the PS4 version. PS5 does not let you copy saves. And the ‘best ending’ guide didn’t pop the Epilogue trophy. I didn’t even think about it until I was well into my ‘kill everyone’ playthrough. This may be the last game I play from these guys if only because of the save structure. Consumers don’t care how they want us to play the game. We bought the product. Beyond that it should be about the most possibilities to keep the money spenders happy.

For chapter 3 I did shoot the big guy, but when I checked the paths menu, it said I missed.
Just an FYI, for THIS RUN, hitting/missing the big guy does NOT matter. You will get the gun shooting trophy in a DIFFERENT run!

In Chapter 9, when Laura grabs the SUN Tarot card, if you look at the same location again, afterwards, you will see an extra scene involving Elza.
It doesn’t matter to the progress of the game, just a fun little scene.

I managed to unlock the Peanut Butter Butterpops! trophy on my everyone lives playthrough. I had aim assist set to auto.
Chapter 3 – Shot the bottles and watermelon. Took both shortcuts and shot Bobby
Chapter 4 – I didn’t fire the gun at all.
Chapter 5 – I shot Bobby.
I didn’t shoot the roof. I did use the shotgun to dismember Dylan’s hand
Chapter 6 – Shot Nick
Chapter 7 – Accidently failed using the syringe so threatened with the gun. Did NOT
shoot.
Chapter 8 – I shot Emma every time, used the regular ammo.
Chapter 9 – Accepted the bite and shot Chris.
Chapter 10 – Did WAIT, SHOOT, BEAM, SMASH X, RUN, INVESTIGATE to get the silver
shells from Abby, then SHOOT with Kaitlyn
Didn’t raise gun to shoot Silas. Accidently failed the QTE so Travis survived.
Shot Silas the 2nd time,
The trophy unlocked during the transition between Chapter 10 and the Epilogue.

You can get Everyone Alive, Blood Pact and Beanutbutter Butterpops at the same playthrough. Make sure to pick up the Bracelet during Chapter 1 as Jacob. Important Backup Save: Chapter 2 before picking a Route with Nick/Abi. Make sure you got all collectibles so far. You can backup a save, before cutting off Dylans Hand. Chapter 7: there are several trophies based on Laura decision to shoot Travis OR not. For Everyone Dies, just shoot him. Don’t waste time collecting Tarot Cards during your “kill everyone” run. Chapter 9, before Ryan gets bitten by Laura: backup save or replay Chapter 9 and 10. And turn off Auto Upload/Sync Saves for both versions. Always check the System Menu, before closing the game. Its possible do get everything with only 2 playthroughs and a bit of replaying Chapter 9+10.

Is it required to get bitten both in the arm and the leg in the tree house in order to get nobody’s fool or am I alright with only being bitten once either in the arm or the leg?

Has anyone got any workarounds for saving on xbox? It’s too punishing for making a mistake

Why didn’t I see Emma in chapter 9 with Abi in the basement on my playthrough, while on this playthrough I see Emma saying something to Abi before picking up the Tarot?!
And is the QTE and the other stuff still as it says on this walkthrough or did it change due to an update??

Does it matter if you choose Dylan or Kaitlyn during truth or dare?
