- Approximate amount of time to platinum: 30-40 hours
- Offline Trophies: 41 (1, 4, 7, 29)

Introduction
Welcome to The Quarry Trophy Guide! This is a game by the same development studio as Until Dawn & The Dark Pictures Anthology series. It’s very similar to those games, a cinematic horror experience with many choices and outcomes. Luckily, we only need 6 different endings and if you follow the steps here you only need 1 full playthrough and can do the rest via chapter select. The game only keeps 1 active save that it automatically overwrites with each cutscene, because of this you should manually back up your save regularly (Console Settings > Saved Data Management > USB if you’re on PS4 or PS+ Cloud if you’re on PS5). In case you make a mistake on an important decision you can copy back your save without needing to replay the entire game. You can keep track of all important choices in the pause menu under “Paths”. When you make those important choices it will also show “Path Chosen” or “Path Updated”. Choices not listed under Paths don’t have any impact. 90% of choices have no lasting consequence and only change the next line of dialogue.
Step 1: Full Playthrough – Everyone Survives + Killed All Hacketts + Collectibles
Simply follow this: The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives).
It’s as spoiler-free as possible and combines the Best Ending with all other compatible Trophies and Collectibles in a single playthrough. It will also earn you the trophy for killing all Hacketts. Killing Hacketts and Silas is fine and doesn’t void “Everyone Survived”. Thus you can reduce the number of playthroughs needed for platinum. Some Collectibles cancel out each other (different choices leading to different areas). It’s impossible to get all Collectibles in 1 playthrough. We’ll get the rest later on the “Everyone Infected” playthrough. Also know that you can move faster by holding to speed things up!
Trophies Unlocked:
- All 12 Chapter-related trophies + most Collectible Trophies
- Nick of Time (Successfully took the fastest route to Nick)
- Just a Flesh Wound (Saved a friend from infection)
- Bizzare Yet Bonafide (Listened to the podcast)
- Phlebotomy (Accepted the bite of a werewolf)
- Reactionist (Activated 15 Interrupts)
- You’re Breathtaking! (Passed 5 Don’t Breathe events)
- Above the Law (Travis and Laura agreed to work together)
- Nobody’s Fool (Jacob told Emma the truth)
- Hard Pass (Refused Eliza’s help)
- Family Matters (Killed all the Hacketts)
- The White Wolf (Killed Silas)
- Rough Night (Kept everyone alive)
Step 2: Chapter Select (Chapter 9 – 10) – Should’ve Gone to the Motel Ending
After your first playthrough you’ll unlock Chapter Select. It’s best to make a manual save backup now, this is just as a precaution so you have a completed game save to fall back to: Console Settings > Saved Data Management and Game/App Settings > Copy to USB (PS4) or PS+ Cloud (PS5). If using PS+ make sure to disable autosync to prevent your backup from being automatically overwritten (Console Settings > Saved Data Management and Game/App Settings > Saved Data (PS5) > Sync Saved Data > Auto-Sync Saved Data = Disabled).
Warning: When using Chapter Select to replay a Chapter, the Chapter Select becomes unavailable until beating the game again (from whatever chapter you start replaying you must finish all chapters until the end of the game again to re-unlock Chapter Select). You cannot jump between Chapters. It also resets your Collectible progress to what you had at the start of the chapter.
Go to the Title Screen > Chapter Select > Replay from Chapter 9 onward and follow the Instructions for Should’ve Gone to the Motel. This is an alternate ending. It’s best to get this out of the way right now before starting your “Everyone Dies” playthrough.
Trophies Unlocked:
- Should’ve Gone to the Motel (Reunited Laura and Max)
Step 3: Partial Playthrough (Chapter 4 – 10) – Everyone Dies
Luckily, we don’t need to replay everything. Using Chapter Select to replay from Chapter 4 onward is enough to kill Jacob and Emma early. You can skip Chapters 1-3 to save time.
Follow The Quarry Worst Ending Walkthrough (Everyone Dies).
This walkthrough combines the trophy for killing everyone with other compatible trophies and setting up the remaining ending trophies (only Kaitlyn surviving & only Ryan surviving). You can ignore collectibles on this playthrough, it’s impossible to get all of one type because the deaths lock you out of many areas with collectibles in them. We’ll do the remaining collectibles on the “Everyone Infected” playthrough later.
Trophies Unlocked:
- Lovers’ Quarrel (Nick killed Abi)
- Hackett’s Quarry Massacre (Killed everyone)
Step 4: Chapter Select (Chapter 10) – Only Kaitlyn Survives
Replay Chapter 10 using Chapter Select to let only Kaitlyn survive. If you followed the walkthrough instructions in Step 1 & 3 (picked up Teddy from locked cabin in Chapter 1, left it in kitchen in Chapter 5) you should have the teddy in the kitchen in Chapter 10. Kaitlyn can throw it in the kitchen’s freezer to distract the final enemy and thus survive the encounter. See The Final Girl.
Trophies Unlocked:
- The Final Girl
Step 5: Chapter Select (Chapter 9-10) – Only Ryan Survives
Use Chapter Select once again to let only Ryan survive this time. See Last Man Standing.
Trophies Unlocked:
- Last Man Standing
Step 6: Chapter Select (Chapter 2-10) – Infected Everyone + Missing Collectibles
Use Chapter Select once again to get everyone infected.
Follow The Quarry Infect Everyone Walkthrough (Infected Every Character)
Combine this playthrough with collecting all Clues, that should be the only collectible trophy you have left. You will need to replay from Chapter 2 onward and choose to go to SHADY GLADE this time (instead of Rocky Road) to get the missing clues. Also recollect all other clues from later chapters (must have all 40 clues in a single playthrough to pop the trophy in Chapter 10). See The Quarry Collectible Guide. If you missed anything earlier than that you must replay from the Chapter where you missed your first Collectibles. The Evidence & Tarots don’t need to be recollected, if you followed the walkthrough you should already have all of them.
Warning: Don’t start a new game! All Collectible Progress resets in New Game! It’s better to use Chapter Select to get missing Collectibles, it at least keeps everything you found before the selected chapter (but not what you found in later chapters)! You must recollect all Clues from Chapter 2 onward. If you missed a clue before Chapter 2 you must replay from the Chapter where you missed one.
Trophies Unlocked:
- Blood Pact
- Missing Collectible Trophies
Step 7: Start Movie Mode
From the title screen choose “MOVIE MODE”, pick a movie and begin. You don’t need to watch it to the end, the trophy unlocks immediately after starting it, then you can quit out.
Trophies Unlocked:
- Creature Feature
Step 8: Chapter Select (Chapter 4-10) – Peanut Butter Butterpops
Refer to Peanut Butter Butterpops! for a mini-walkthrough of all important steps.
This requires you to shoot and hit whenever you can aim a weapon. If you already fulfilled the requirements of Chapter 1-3 in the “Everyone Infected” run then you can skip those chapters and start replaying from Chapter 4 onward. There is no way to combine this with any of the other playthroughs, must be done in a separate playthrough (see the note in the trophy description why that is).
Step 9: Mutually Assured
One more trophy you might potentially have left at this point is Mutually Assured which you can quickly get via Chapter Select (Chapter 9).

Rough Night Kept everyone alive |
||
» The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives) – recommended doing this as your 1st playthrough
Hackett’s Quarry Massacre Killed everyone |
||
» The Quarry Worst Ending Walkthrough (Everyone Dies) – recommended doing this as your 2nd playthrough
The Final Girl Kaitlyn survived the night alone |
||
If you followed the steps outlined in the Roadmap you can quickly get this trophy via Chapter Select after your “Killed Everyone” playthrough:
Summary of the 4 steps that matter:
|
||
Nick of Time Successfully took the fastest route to Nick |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives) Chapter 3 After Abigail returns to the campfire, Ryan will run into the woods to go after Nick. Choose TAKE SHORTCUT two times in a row and successfully finish the QTEs without messing up. Then you’ll be quick enough to see how Nick gets dragged away by a hunter which unlocks the trophy.
|
||
The White Wolf Killed Silas |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives)
Chapter 10 This requires Laura shooting Silas in his nest at the end of Chapter 10. Laura must be alive and must be working together with Travis (Laura didn’t shoot Travis with his pistol in the Chapter 7 prison cell and they didn’t kill each other in Chapter 9). Then in Chapter 10 during the car ride they will run over Silas, he will retreat to his nest and you can aim your shotgun at him and shoot him. Required Steps:
|
||
Nobody’s Fool Jacob told Emma the truth |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives) For this Emma must get infected in Chapter 4 and Kaitlyn doesn’t shoot her with Silver bullets in Chapter 8, Jacob must stay uninfected the whole playthrough, Ryan must kill Monster Chris in Chapter 9 to lift Emma’s curse. Then Jacob and Emma reunite in Chapter 10, choose to be HONEST > REMORSEFUL > APOLOGETIC during the dialogue. Here are all important steps:
|
||
Lovers’ Quarrel Nick killed Abi |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 2nd playthrough when following The Quarry Worst Ending Walkthrough (Everyone Dies) Chapter 6 This requires that Abigail doesn’t shoot Nick in the Chapter 6 pool house. Choices: In Chapter 6, in the pool house when Abi talks to Nick, pick the following dialogues: CALM > COMPASSIONATE > (Nick doesn’t believe you, gets angry and throws Abi against the wall) > When Abi aims the shotgun at Nick do NOT shoot it (let time run out) > Trophy Unlocked! If Abi would shoot Nick with the shotgun he’d run away and not kill her. Nick will always get infected in Chapter 3 and always attacks Abi in Chapter 6, this cannot be avoided. Abigail will always be alive in Chapter 6, even if she was injured in Chapter 3. |
||
Should’ve Gone to the Motel Reunited Laura and Max |
||
|
||
Above the Law Travis and Laura agreed to work together |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives) Chapter 9 After Laura and Ryan fall through the attic at the end of Chapter 9, a monster will attack them in the Hackett House. At that point Laura turns into a monster herself and attacks Travis (the cop). They mustn’t kill each other here. After the encounter they have a talk and will decide to work together to lift the curse. This is tracked through the “Above the Law” path.
This is tracked via the “Above the Law” Path in the pause menu. If you are missing this trophy after getting the various ending-related trophies you just need to replay Chapters 7-9. |
||
Mutually Assured Laura and Travis killed each other |
||
Chapter 9 In Chapter 9 when Ryan aims gun at Monster Chris Hackett DON’T shoot. This results in Laura’s curse not being lifted, she stays in monster form and attacks Travis, he defends himself, in the struggle they kill each other. |
||
Just a Flesh Wound Saved a friend from infection |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives) Chapter 5 While in the radio hut Dylan must try to fix a wire and have his hand bitten by the monster, then Ryan needs to cut it off. Choices: First of all, in order to do this, in Chapter 1 as Abigail you must have broken into the cabin to get your belongings. In Chapter 1 when Abigail & Emma are talking choose “BREAK IN”. This makes it so the cabin is open in Chapter 5 for everyone to hide there from the monsters. Later in Chapter 5 when Dylan & Ryan are in the Radio Hut pick the following: INTERESTED > CONCERNED > APOLOGETIC > While aiming gun at ceiling: don’t shoot, let time run out > AGGRESSIVE > ANXIOUS > CALM > (Dylan’s Hand gets bitten) > DESPERATE (quick-time decision) > CHAINSAW (Ryan cuts off Dylan’s hand) > Trophy Unlocked! If you didn’t break into the cabin in Chapter 1 it will be closed and the group needs a longer time to break in, which attracts the monsters to them. In this case, the monsters will focus on that cabin and won’t be on the roof of the radio hut, so Dylan wouldn’t get his hand bitten off. If that’s the case for you, you must replay from Chapter 1 onward. |
||
Phlebotomy Accepted the bite of a werewolf |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives) Chapter 9 In Chapter 9 after Ryan and Laura reunite, Ryan must accept being bitten by Laura to become infected. This is also mandatory to keep him alive for the best ending. Your choices leading up to this point don’t matter, you will always get the same scene in every playthrough no matter what you did before. Required Choices in Chapter 9 when Ryan is bleeding out and Laura is talking to him:
|
||
Last Man Standing Ryan survived alone |
||
If you followed the steps outlined in the Roadmap you can quickly get this trophy via Chapter Select after your “Killed Everyone” playthrough / after doing “The Final Girl” ending where only Kaitlyn survived:
|
||
Family Matters Killed all the Hacketts |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives) The Hackett Family are essentially your enemies in the game. There are 7 family members you must kill. Killing them does not cancel out the “Everyone Survives” trophy because they aren’t playable characters (and it’s impossible to not kill at least some of them, no matter what choices you make. At least a few of them are guaranteed to always die). See the Everyone Survives walkthrough from Chapter 7 onward, then you’ll get the trophy at the very end of the game after Chapter 10. Summary:
|
||
Blood Pact Infected every character |
||
» The Quarry Infect Everyone Walkthrough (Blood Pact Trophy) – recommended doing this as your 3rd playthrough
Bizzare Yet Bonafide Listened to the podcast |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives) Chapter 7 This requires you to log in to Travis’ PC in the police station to play the podcast audio file. Choices: In Chapter 7, playing as Laura after you can free roam around the police station, go upstairs (wooden staircase). Enter the 1st office upstairs, on the wall is a birthday card, inspect it to find out Travis’ year of birth. Enter the 3rd office upstairs, inspect the calendar on the wall to get Travis’ month & day of birth. Now head back downstairs and enter the corner office. Interact with the PC behind the desk, Laura will automatically enter Travis’ birthday as the password. She will automatically open an audio file on the PC that plays the supernatural “Bizzare Yet Bonafide” podcast that Ryan was listening to earlier in the game. The trophy unlocks after that. It also counts as a collectible. |
||
Reactionist Activated 15 Interrupts |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives)
“Interrupts” are the timers with button prompts during cutscenes. These are timed events and you have to quickly decide whether to press or not to press. Press on 15 of these, you will get this automatically on your playthrough. |
||
You’re Breathetaking! Passed 5 Don’t Breath events |
||
» You will automatically earn this on your 1st playthrough when following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives)
“Don’t Breathe events” are when the screen flashes red and you must hold , then release it when the screen stops flashing. There are far more than 5 of these events, they mostly happen when hiding. You’ll automatically have to do more than 5 of these on your playthrough. For the trophy you must successfully complete them, meaning you must release the button when the screen stops flashing red. If you release the button while the screen is still flashing red it doesn’t count towards the trophy. |
||
Peanut Butter Butterpops! Never missed in a combat encounter |
||
For this you must shoot and hit at every chance you can aim a weapon, except in Chapter 4 when aiming the gun at the bushes for the 1st time (nothing to hit there), but MUST shoot when aiming at the bushes the 2nd time (kills Jacob). If you already fulfilled the Chapter 1-3 requirements in your last playthrough you can start replaying from Chapter 4 onward. Doing this via chapter select is fine and unlocks the trophy, no need to start a new game. It will unlock at the start of the Epilogue cutscene, after Chapter 10. Side Note – FAQ: One frequent question is whether you can combine this trophy with other playthroughs such as Everyone Survives or Everyone Dies or Everyone Infected or Collectibles. The answer is No – you can’t combine it. That’s because shooting Jacob in Chapter 4 voids everyone being alive as well as his infection and collectibles in Chapter 6. Likewise, shooting Nick in Chapter 6 voids Abi dying / everyone dying (although Abi can still die in Chapter 8 if Emma was infected in Chapter 4, that would void Emma’s death). There are *some* reports of players getting a lucky bug where the trophy unlocked without shooting Jacob in Chapter 4 but I have done many playthroughs trying this and it never worked. The only guaranteed way is that you MUST shoot Jacob in Chapter 4 in the bushes and he must die from this, otherwise the trophy will most likely not unlock in the end. All required steps guaranteed to unlock the trophy – I had NOT enabled auto-aim in accessibility settings (keep auto-aim turned off):

||
Hard Pass Refused Eliza’s help |
||
*Was bugged, got fixed in Patch 1.04*
During your entire playthrough, when talking to the old woman between chapters, always choose “MOVE ON”. You will automatically get this on your first playthrough while following The Quarry Walkthrough (Everyone Survives. After Patch 1.04 there shouldn’t be issues with this trophy anymore. However, in case this trophy breaks again in future patches, below is the old workaround that fixed it before the 1.04 Patch. In case the trophy doesn’t unlock for you, use this workaround (thanks to anasterion):
There are some reports of users getting it a little bit later e.g. after Chapter 7. If it doesn’t unlock after Chapter 5 just keep doing the same trick for the next few chapters until it unlocks. |
||
Decked Out Found all Tarot cards |
||
|
||
Forewarned is Forearmed Got a Tarot reading |
||
Find at least one Tarot Card collectible. Between chapters when talking to the old woman choose “SEE MORE” to get a Tarot Reading for this trophy.
Meddling Kids! Collected all clues |
||
|
||
It’s All Coming Together Found a matching clue |
||
A matching clue is one that unlocks a piece of info on another clue in the “Clues” Menu (Pause Menu). You will automatically get this while collecting all clues.
|
||
What’s This? Collected first clue |
||
|
||
Conspiracy Theorist Collected all evidence |
||
|
||
The Truth is Out There Collected first piece of evidence |
||
|
||
Creature Feature Started a movie mode playthrough |
||
From the Title Screen select “MOVIE MODE”. Pick one of the available Movie Mode options and start this playthrough. No need to finish it, the trophy will unlock right at the start. Movie Mode automatically plays all cutscenes for you without having to walk around, but it’s fully automated and you can’t make any decisions. |
Changelog:
- 2022-06-16 – Combined “Nobody’s Fool” with the Step 1 Walkthrough for everyone surviving, these can be combined to save time (thanks to OTPYG for pointing this out in the comments)
- 2022-06-27 – A more reliable workaround for “Hard Pass” (bugged at the time of writing) has been found and added to the guide
- 2022-07-26 – “Hard Pass” was fixed in Patch 1.04, guide & walkthrough updated accordingly
PowerPyx says
Glad to present you with another Day-1 Trophy Guide 🙂
Enjoy this nice horror experience! A lot of trophies can be combined. Game is a bit longer than the Dark Pictures Anthology games but the decisions are less complex.
Max says
Hey!
Thanks for the guide so quick
I have evidence #3, it’s from diving into the lake as Jacob to get the car part, I believe you need to stay under as much as possible for it to trigger.
Also Emma can get infected in chapter 6, when she sees the hunters, and the interrupt come to run, choose it and the monster will catch her and bite her ankle but she gets away. You’d need the fireworks to avoid this I think based on my path update.
PowerPyx says
Thanks so much! That worked for Evidence #3, added it to the guide 🙂
BakedBadger says
Hey, I just spoke with a steam player who got the achievement. He said he did it legit, collected no tarot cards the whole playthrough EXCEPT the Hierophant card but he said it took him a few saves for it to pop up. Dudes name is Destin, no-one blow him up, dude was chill. I’m going on a dave all playthrough so ill update later after a few tries which might take a while but better safe than sorry.
BakedBadger says
!RELATED TO MY LAST COMMENT! The dude was “Desdin” and he got the achievement July 13 but no idea which chapter but I’ve heard its supposed to pop after chapter 9, (after the forced card cutscene?)
nilla says
I did not killed Jacob and achieve the “peanut buttter” on Xbox. Also works with auto aim assist. There is a lot of ways to kills or infects the characters too for some other trophys. I jus’t can’t unlock the Hard Pass, maybe is really glitched.
Dale Gatehouse says
If I miss a shot during the butter pops play through can I just replay from the chapter I missed ?
Shanks_Le_Roux87 says
Can confirm, that you can combine the run with everybody infected and all clues with the peanut butter butterpop trophy. Just put the shoot scenes on automatic, so that the Auto doesn’t shoot Jacob and just to be safe let Monster-Nick get killed by Laura. Everthing else like suggested and tge trophy pops the epilog.
Saves 0.7 Runs so this optimizes the walkthrough?♂️
Law says
Well done. Will do a blind one first and enjoy the story then follow this.
ScottyG82 says
Gonna use your awesome guide after a blind playthrough first
SchwiftyMel says
Can you choose the movie mode and let it go on it’s own for the everyone survives and everyone dies trophies as those are both options when you click on it.
PowerPyx says
Interesting idea. I’ll let it run over night to test, will confirm tomorrow if it worked. Even if that works, it’d be of limited use because you need to set up the endings for only Kaitlyn/Ryan surviving, which you can’t do in movie mode.
SchwiftyMel says
Sadly I don’t think it’ll work. I went on a fresh account and set movie mode to see if getting the first collectable would give that trophy, but it didn’t. So it looks like no trophies apart from that one for just picking movie mode.
PowerPyx says
Can confirm it doesn’t unlock the trophy for everyone survives / everyone dies in movie mode. No trophies unlock in that mode.
JimmyHACK says
Can we use auto-complete qte’s no problem? When we need to not mess up.
PowerPyx says
Technically yes, but sometimes you have to fail QTEs to get a trophy-related outcome. You’d end up having to switch the auto-complete accessibility feature on and off a lot, this would be more work than tilting the stick.
Ben says
QTEs in this game are simple though, they just use the analog sticks, no face buttons (Square, O, X, Triangle).
Anonymous says
Thank you for the trophy guide, hopefully it’s fully completed very soon.
Shame on 2K for not offering a free PS5 upgrade and charging £74.99 for both versions digitally (it’s better to buy a PS4 or PS5 physical edition for £40-£50 instead).
Anon says
Does death rewind work for the everyone survives trophy?
Wally says
Yes, it does!
Sofia says
It should be noted, that death rewind does work, BUT if you dont have deluxe edition of the game, you don’t have this option, you have to complete the game at least once to unlock death rewind, also when u do have it, you can only use it 3 times.
Nikki_boagreis says
The QTE’s are fairy easy, my only complaint is how sensitive the controls are. A few times when your given the option of picking dialogue i literally didn’t press anything it just picked an option for me. Like really, i didn’t even press anything.
Lewis_Y123 says
Thank you for the guide!
Kaitlyn can get bitten at the scrapyard, when you have the option to slam the car or sound the horn, don’t choose any.
WickedMatrix says
For You’re breathetaking trophy, does it pop if you choose autocomplete Don’t breathe ? Thx.
Dreadful says
Curious about this as well. I’ll leave the breathing QTE on if I absolutely have to, but they’re my least favorite.
Tony says
I put it on auto and never got the trophy, so playing again now on default for Bad ending.
Alig200 says
No, it wont pop if you have Dont Breath sections set to autocomplete. Did the same thing myself for my first playthrough, ended up having to turn it off for my second playthrough to get that trophy to pop.
Sofia says
NO you do NOT get trophy, if AUTO is enabled/on for Don’t Breathe.
Emzykaylz says
Do you think you have to collect all the cards and choose move on every time to get hard pass or do you think it involves not collecting any cards at all ?
PowerPyx says
I always chose “MOVE ON” and didn’t get it. I think it’s for not collecting a single Tarot at all. Then Eliza will be a little mad and doesn’t put the Tarots on her table. That’s just a guess for now, pending confirmation.
HBK says
I’ve tried.But the trophy didn’t pop
Joe says
I collected every tarot card minus hierophant and chose move on every time and it didn’t work.
DanTheMan says
I’ve found that choosing move on and then immediately quitting to the main menu does work. I personally chose to close out the game entirely just in case. I even did it on the run for all collectibles so I just got the Hard Pass trophy one chapter later before it popped on chapter 8. Make sure you’re on version 1.000, it probably won’t work otherwise.
Wally says
How to get the BLOOD PACT trophy: LAURA, MAX, and NICK get infected automatically. ABI gets bit if you dont climb the tree, HIDE, and fail the DONT BREATHE. JACOB gets infected if he THROWS DIRT at Bobby, then when he meets up with Emma, and theyre getting chased, fail the first QTE. EMMA gets infected if you choose to PULL SLOWLY on the zipline, then the SPEED UP interrupt. DYLAN gets bit normally, but just be sure not to cut off his hand with the chainsaw. RYAN will obviously get infected, if you let Laura bite him, to heal his stab wound. KAITLYN will get bit during the crane scene if you fail the QTEs. Probably noteworthy that you should do this trophy either on its own playthrough, or your kill everyone attempt.
FanficWriter73 says
You can also do that trophy on a everyone lives playthrough. All you need to do is pick up Emma’s silver bracelet at the beginning (to prevent Jacob from killing Emma at the end), and shoot werewolf Emma multiple times with normal shells until she runs away in Chapter 8. Everything else can be done the same as on a normal “everyone lives” run, since Jacob and Emma are the only werewolves who can kill the survivors.
Wally says
Just a thought, but the HARD PASS trophy might work if you dont pick up any tarot cards. That way Eliza straight up cant help you, even if you wanted it.
Rendax says
I’ve read posts on steam saying that the trophy is bugged and will be fixed soon, but I’m not sure if it’s true. Can someone confirm that?
Ryan says
I have declined Elizas help and the trophy still hasn’t popped. Is anyone else having that issue am I missing some steps?
PowerPyx says
I’m still investigating how to unlock it. It might be for not picking up a single Tarot Card during the whole playthrough.
hello says
About infections for the “Blood Pact”:
At the scrapyard if instead of honking you choose to “Slam the Car” and fail the QTE, Kaitlyn will get bitten by Caleb
And about Jacob, you possibly can get him bitten if you fail a certain QTE or hold breath before the beartraps
Eric says
I’m on steam, and i got “Meddling Kids!” with “It’s All Coming Together” after getting the first clue on chapter 2. So strange, but i won’t complaint
FanficWriter73 says
I just had a thought. What if the Hard Pass trophy has to do with getting as many tarot readings as possible and refusing her advice from them.
For example, if the reading is something bad, like Jacob falling headfirst into a bear trap, you have to ignore that warning and do it. If it’s something that helps you, you have to ignore it.
Cinderkin says
My theory for “Hard Pass” is avoiding picking up the Tarot Card Hierophant in Ch. 9. Because that card specifically makes Eliza upset and forces you to watch the cutscene of the Fire.
Should be able to use Move On for everything else. So I think as long as we reload Ch. 9 and replay it till the end skipping Hierophant card we might get it.
Cinderkin says
So I tried this and it didn’t work. I skipped Hierophant and was offered a choice at the end of Ch.9 (which normally doesn’t happen) I chose to move on as usual and still no trophy.
This could be bugged?
Ty says
Thats a good theory and i think you may be right. People have chosen “move on” on every choice and that hasn’t worked, neither had not picking up every tarot card.
johncar88 says
I just did a complete playthrough without getting a single tarot card and did not get the trophy so that’s not it. I’m gonna try to only get the hierophant or maybe its because I kill Silas.
Red says
Hard Pass
Refused Eliza’s help
No tarot card clearance and still no trophy
Alig200 says
Nobody’s Fools requires Emma to be infected and Jacob still alive at the end. This results in Emma reuniting with Jacob, instead of having having him sit down and cry in his final scene later in the game. Then it’ll give you/Jacob the choice to reveal that he sabotaged the minivan earlier.
Be warned though tha letting Emma get infected, makes it so the group encounters her as a werewolf in the minivan during Chapter 8 along with a run or shoot choice. Be aware that if you choose “run” instead of “shoot” in that choice, or miss the shot during the shooting sequence, Emma will kill Abi (or maybe someone else, I had both Dylan and Abi with Kaitlyn at that point) by ripping her throat out, Figured I’d this a little warning for this choice for those who might want to combine Everybody Lives with Nobody’s Fool, which is what I inadvertently did successfully.
GPAP360 says
About the “Hard Pass” trophy.
What about ASK for help to the witch in EACH chapter to (for example) see someone dying or a bad “move”, but then do that “error” or whatever the crystal ball saw us?.
Maybe that’s how we “Hard Pass” from her advices / help.
SzzMN says
Hey, I got the peanut butter trophy what I did was:
—Don’t break in the hut in cheater 1.
—Just before the shooting challenge I changed my aim to automatic from assisted.
— Jacob will not be shot in the bushes and you will get a different scene for the radio hut in chapter 5.
– I let Laura shoot Nick.
– Ryan shoots Chris and Laura and Travis and Ryan go to hunt Silas.
– As Kaitlyn prepare for attack then wait then shoot Caleb and then let her die.
-In the epilogue give Laura the blood and raise gun to shoot Silas.
Now for Hard pass I tried these things but failed:
– Picked up 0 cards
-Picked up 0 cards and killed Silas
– Let all the Hacketts survive
None of these things worked either so I’m stuck to be honest.
Thae says
I’m gonna try only picking up heirophant and killing silas. Since it gives us that flashback.
tejeskv says
DId you try 0 cards and killing all the Hacketts?
Toalha Nerd says
Can it match All Infected or All Die?
johncar88 says
I can confirm this work for the peanut butter trophy. I even let Emma get infected and got an additional combat encounter at the car. I think maybe the only thing you have to do is put the aim to automatic and do a playthrough.
xAFT3RL1FEx says
I can confirm not collecting any tarot cards doesnt unlock the hard pass trophy i just completed a new game save to test it while doing my infected run. No idea how to unlock it
Thae says
I just finished a run with 0 tarots too. I might pick up only heirophant next time. Since its different to the others.
Dan says
The Final Girl can be acquired without the Teddy from chapter 1. If Kaitlyn gets bit at the scrapyard (Dylan failing the QTE when dropping the car) Caleb will smell that she´s infected and not kill her. Dylan can be killed by waiting after Caleb bursts through the painting.
anasterion says
In step 2 it is mentioned that we should combine trophies – kill everyone and collect all clues. Isn’t this a mistake? How can we achieve this if by the guide we kill Emma in Chapter 4 (Open trapdoor), but there is clue collectible while playing Emma in Chapter 6 (History Clue #9) ?
PowerPyx says
True, this was a bit of an oversight.
I moved the remaining collectibles step to Step 5 to combine it with Infecting Everyone playthrough. When infecting people you can keep them alive and then still play as them during the next chapters to grab collectibles.
The good thing is that if you replayed from Chapter 2 on the “All Deaths” run and went to Shady Glade you can skip that chapter on the “Everyone Infected” run. So you haven’t really lost anything by doing that.
johncar88 says
I have a new theory about ”hard pass”. Maybe it as to do with the raven.
In chapter 1 if Abi go to the radio place, there is a cutscene with a raven.
In chapter 2 if you choose shady glade, there is another cutscene with Abi getting scared of a raven.
At the end of chapter 2, the last thing Elisa said is ”remember, wherever the wolf go, the raven follow”
Also the trophy icon is a raven.
Elixir Vee says
That may be a good thing to try, finding ravens. I checked the window at the radio station after shooing the raven away and the Hag appeared in the window briefly as Abi went back downstairs
Sealightbreeze says
Thank you so very much for the guide. I’m stuck on the hard pass one as well. I’ve done it where I ignored her every time and moved on and everyone lived in it didn’t work. I’ve also done it where I ignored her every time I moved on, and everyone died and that didn’t work either
SzzMN says
I’ll post again with everything I’ve tried for hard pass it’s a lot. I think this one will definitely be a huge community effort. Id like to mention a user on exophase steam has the trophy and has the same time stamp as killing all Hackkets trophy.
1. 0 cards
2. 0 cards kill Silas
3. Only the Heirophant card and Eliza SURVIVES, then kill Silas.
4. Only the Heirophant card Eliza DIES then kill Silas.
5. Let all the Hackkets survive.
6. Let Silas kill travis in the car then he hurts Laura and you shoot him last second resulting in the death of all 3.
7. Got the tarot cards saw the future and did the opposite getting Ryan killed.
8. Get all the tarot cards without watching any premonitions of the future.
There’s probably something else I can’t remember I tested a-lot things these last 2 days but nothing has worked.
The only theory I have left is if there’s some way to get the Heirophant card as Laura in the basement in the prologue OR it’s something to do with the interactable world. But the fact the user got the 2 trophies at the same (kill all hackkets and hard pass), leads me to believe this trophy is obtained in the SILAS area now is Eliza lurking in the woods OR is there a raven to shoot there when you raise your gun? This would be my last and probably final theory.
HardPassTrophyWanter says
Any chance the Hard Pass trophy could deal with keeping EVERY member of the Hackett family ALIVE? After all, the Hag is encouraging us the whole game to dispose of the Hacketts. So maybe by keeping them alive, we are refusing her “help” to kill them.
CTaylor0122 says
Has anyone tried to get 0 tarot cards while keeping everyone alive and killing all Hackets for the Hard Pass Trophy yet?
ozo says
On my playthrough as Ryan game force me to pick Death tarrot, so i don’t think that yhe case! Prior to that 0 tarrots was collected
tejeskv says
This is what I’m thinking too but couldn’t find anyone who tried it.
Its pretty logical actually because all she wants is to kill the whole family and she tries to help you.
So the achievement should be to kill the whole family WITHOUT her help (which would be 0 tarot cards).
Jess says
I just did a playthrough picked up 0 cards and killed ALL haketts. No trophy. but I did not keep everyone alive and I did not kill Silas so I may try again
tejeskv says
@Jess: Thats a bummer… I really thought this was it 🙁
phiger_2103 says
Just a thought, maybe for the Hard Pass trophy collect every card EXCEPT for the Hierophant (since it triggers an automatic scene and makes it unable to decline her help and continue after Ch. 9) and then decline her help in every chapter?
_m1key says
yes this is how I unlocked the trophy
Jess says
You got the hard pass trophy by doing this??
Joe says
This is incorrect. The game will not proceed unless you pick up the Heirophant. You don’t have an option to climb the ladder in the storm shelter until you pick it up.
Joe says
I just did another run, and weirdly enough, when in the basement as Abigail or Emma, you must walk straight to the ladder or the fuses. If the camera shows the Heirophant, then the game will not let you proceed unless you pick it up. If you never see the Heirophant, the game will have the prompts for the fuses and the ladder.
But it doesn’t matter in the end since it what was suggested does not work. Here is what I did.
1. Picked up every tarot card, except the Heirophant
2. Choose “Move on” every single time
The trophy did not unlock at the end of Ch. 9 or start of Ch. 10. I can confirm that this method does not work.
Joe says
One thing I will note is that my run was done on chapter select, starting at chapter 2.
But I know for a fact that I moved on every single time because none of my tarot cards have the prompt to rewatch the vision meaning I chose move on every single time.
So maybe the method will work but only on a fresh run, not chapter select. I’m just too burnt out to try it.
Thae says
I got peanut. No auto aim
– Shot jacob
– let laura shoot nick
– shot chris
– shot silas
– shot caleb
That was all I needed. Basically if you can shoot shoot. Pretty easy.
PowerPyx says
And in Chapter 5 radio hut you also shot the ceiling? There’s no enemy to hit there. I think you have to shoot there.
Thae says
Yeah I shot the ceiling too
Toalha Nerd says
Power, no need to shoot chapter 5 if you don’t break into chapter 01
HIBIKI says
Peanut Butter Butterpops! My method
No auto aim
Chapter 3 Nick shot melons and bottles
Chapter 3 Ryan shot Bobby
Chapter 4 Ryan shot Jacob(The first time Ryan didn’t shoot)
Chapter 5 Radio Hut(Ryan didn’t shoot)
Chapter 6 Abi shot Nick
Chapter 9 Laura shot Chris
Chapter 10 Kaitlyn shot Caleb
Chapter 10 Laura shot Silas
HIBIKI says
Sorry.
Chapter 9 Ryan shot Chris
Justin says
i had QTE set to auto. and dont Breathe..Will it screw me out of some trophies?
Ty says
Yes, you wont get You’re Breathetaking on auto. I’m not sure about the others but Don’t Breathe isn’t difficult to pass without auto, you’re just waiting until you’re in the clear (no more red).
Sofia says
Yes!!!!
Mario says
For the ´Everyone dies´ or ´everyone survives´ trophys….do these Trophies also pop-up when you play out the Movie Modus?
PowerPyx says
No.
Movie Mode doesn’t unlock any trophies (other than the 1 trophy for starting Movie Mode of course).
Francis says
While trying to go for the Nobody’s Fool and Should’ve Gone to the Motel trophies, I got the Peanut Butter Butterpops trophy. I had aim assist on to auto. I’m guessing this counted because it had more shooting moments than your typical playthrough (Kaitlyn protecting her group from werewolf Emma, Laura shooting Travis in chapter 9).
I noticed the guide for those two trophies aren’t up:
Nobody’s Fool: Jacob must be uninfected and free from his cage. Emma has to be infected by Max on the island and cured by killing Chris. Jacob has to be honest in his dialogue choices.
Should’ve Gone to the Motel: Laura has to be on Travis’s good side during chapter 7. Ryan has to reject the bite and bleed out. Laura has to succeed the QTE grabbing the gun and shooting Travis.
sofia says
thank you
Rockhopper78 says
Man all these attempts to try to get Hard Pass by the community here and on PSNprofiles and sorry to say it but the simple solution is it’s probably just glitched. With these types of games I don’t see them making such a convoluted trophy requirement that no one has been able to figure out yet.
It simply says refuse Eliza’s help. Same as opposite accept her help. You only have to say see more once. It should be the way for move on. I’ll be shocked if there’s some asinine way to actually unlock it and it’s not glitched.
_m1key says
it unlocks after chapter 9. you have to find at least one card each chapter but you have to skip #21 hierophant–finding this card triggers the harum scarum cuts cutscene and thus does not give you the option to refuse eliza’s help.
Joe says
^ That does not work, just tried it myself
OTPYG says
For Peanut Butter Butterpops! –
“ Chapter 4 – Ryan shoot Jacob in the bushes (thus Jacob dies)”
Do you shoot the bushes on both opportunities or just the second time? TIA.
tejeskv says
I only shot the second time and got it.
OTPYG says
Thanks mate. I only shot second time too.
Unlike the guide says to here though, I didn’t shoot the roof in chapter 5, and still got the trophy.
PowerPyx says
Going by the comments here, I think the Chapter 5 radio hut shot might not count at all. Some got it while shooting there, others while not shooting there. I suppose because there’s no actual “enemy” to shoot there (shot only hits the roof but doesn’t kill the monster).
The same may be the case for Chapter 4 where you aim the gun at the bushes where Jacob hides – not shooting on the first attempt seems to be fine because even if you shoot it ALWAYS misses Jacob and never kills him. Only the 2nd shot can kill Jacob.
Conclusion: It may only require to shoot when there’s an actual enemy you can hit. On the opportunities where you can shoot but enemy can’t be hit, it seems to be fine either way whether you shoot or not. Some further confirmation would be welcome for this 🙂
Keven Beasley says
In regards to the “Hard Pass” trophy. I was looking at the completed trophies of the only registered player to get the trophy. They have the trophy for reading a tarot card, but did not get the trophy for collecting all tarot cards. Now the trophy for the card reading came at the same time as completing the prologue. What if you get the trophy for Hard Pass, by only collecting The Fool tarot card in the prologue and having her show more to you, but then not collect any others and pass the rest of the time. Ill try a run and see if it works, if someone else doesn’t first. It doesn’t explain why the trophy would pop at the end of Chapter 8 though.
Keven Beasley says
I just saw that a comment was made the player started a new game so my comment is invalid :/. Sorry all.
xAFT3RL1FEx says
It has to be bugged i ended up friending the psn player that has the trophy and he said hes not sure how he got it what happened is that he got the reading 1st eliza section then retstarted a new game then collecting all tarot cards also moving on all eliza sections then what happened to him was on chapter 8 he was collecting the cards and before he could grab the last card before the cages (not the rum still card) the next cutscene played early so not sure if he just went to the red room after getting the rum still card or timed out or whatever thats just the guideline he told me and that was off the 1.01 update…so im just assuming its bugged atm
nawaf says
Peanut Butter Butterpops!
Do you need to do this in full plauthrought . Or just do every chapter and download your back save every time to do everyone ,”?
parry says
Just turn on auto aim , and try to keep everyone alive, don’t worry if there’s no shot.
you can unlock this trophy at the beginning of the epilogue
Nikki_boagreis says
I think Hard Pass is just glitched and the person who alredy got it got lucky. I’ve read post on here and Psnprofiles i doubt it has some insane unlock requirement no one can figure out. i think it’s just glitched, and i agree it’s probably for refusing help once.
OTPYG says
I agree the trophy is likely glitched. But I don’t think it’ll be for refusing help once. It’s a silver trophy, which the game doesn’t have many of. I think it’ll be for refusing her help in each and every chapter.
_m1key says
you have to refuse help each chapter thru chapter 9. you cannot grab card #21 hierophant bc the cutscene blocks the option to refuse help
Brendan2579 says
@_m1key. Just because you got it this way doesn’t mean it works. I got every card and skipped #21 on my second playthrough and didn’t get the trophy. If you truly got it then you’re just lucky I suppose seeing as it’s definitely bugged.
In all honesty, I bet the trophy is as simple as just choosing “Move On” one time to get the trophy, assuming the trophy worked as it should.
Joe says
@_m1key
That didn’t work for me either
Karl says
How to activate last tarot card? I can’t watch it, this is normal?
GPAP360 says
About the Hard pass Trophy (Or maybe not)
Did you guys notice that on the scene at the burning circus, when is about to finish there are some tarot card flying AND the one that “stay” more on the screen CHANGES in (maybe each) run?
I got to the Tower one (burning tower whit people failing) in my All alives run, and the Hierophant (wolf dressed as a pope?) on my All infected run.
The problem is that i got both cards picked on the run so i could not try to pick the card at this moment. Will try to check on my new run i’m doing atm.
johncar88 says
I found a way to optimize your walktrougth. You can get everyone infected, everyone survive and all clues in one playtrougth. For Emma to survive at the end just pick the bracelet in chapter 1 as Jacob.
For the last man standing and final girl you can let ryan survive chapter 9 and only replay chapter 10. If Laura failed the QTE in the car they all die.
PowerPyx says
The problem is you need to replay the game regardless for the missing Chapter 2 collectibles because Rocky Road / Shady Glade cancel out each other. So you might as well do everyone infected run separately while going for missing collectibles. Even if you combined it with everyone survives run you’d have to replay the game from chapter 2 onward for the remaining collectible trophies, so you’re not really saving any time.
johncar88 says
You can restart from chapter 2 and get the tarot card for the everyone die run. The only problem is the Hierophant card that need either Abi or Emma alive. Right now I am doing some testing to see if there is a way to kill Abi in the bunker. The broken ladder path cant be for nothing, there must be something missing.
PowerPyx says
Yeah even if you go for all Clues first instead of all Tarots, on the “All Deaths” run you’re stuck with not being able to get the Tarot in Chapter 9 Bunker as Abi. There doesn’t seem to be a way to kill her after picking up the Chapter 9 Tarot. And when killing her before that, you obviously miss out on the Tarot.
OTPYG says
Can anyone think of a reason to not incorporate ‘Nobody’s Fool’ into the Everybody Survives playthrough? It at least saves you no longer needing to go back and reloading chapter 4 onwards after your Everybody Infected playthrough. Any less time spent enduring chapter 7 the better!!
PowerPyx says
That actually works, yes. Good catch! I’ve incorporated that into the Step 1 Walkthrough now.
Only difference is in Chapter 4 you need to get Emma infected, then she turns in Chapter 8 (don’t kill her). Rest of the steps are unchanged, can nicely be combined with “Everyone Survives”.
The Butterpops trophy is another odd one that is incompatible with some other stuff. Because shooting Jacob in the bushes in Chapter 4 (=Jacob dies) is incompatible with “Everyone survives”. Likewise, shooting Nick in Chapter 6 pool house (Abi doesn’t die) is incompatible with “Everyone dies”. You could have Abi killed by Monster Emma later in CH8 after she turns into a monster, but I think then you can no longer kill Emma, thus also voiding Everyone Dies on the Butterpops run. Additionally, shooting Jacob in CH4 locks you out of his Collectibles in CH6 so you can’t even go for all collectibles on the Butterpops run.
They’ve set up these trophies quite complicated where a lot of stuff cancels out each other.
johncar88 says
Nothing I tried worked, once inside the basement and Chris’ office she get the power of plot armor. Probably the same power that keep her from getting infected.
Francis says
The broken ladder does have a consequence. If Emma is infected in chapter 6 (running after hiding from the hunters), she’ll transform in front of Abi in chapter 9. The broken ladder is an obstacle that can kill Abi if she fails the QTEs.
OTPYG says
“What could be done is in Chapter 6 during Emma’s cutscene with the 2 hunters choose “RUN” so she gets bitten in the foot and infected by a monster at that point.”
Just tried this then and the conversation with her and the conversation needed for the trophy didn’t happen sadly. Her and Jacob never meet after chapter 9. I think she needs to be attacked by the wolf in chapter 4 before she zip lines, as he becomes human once you kill the wolf in chapter 9. The wolf in chapter 6 that can attack Emma must be one of the family that needs Silas to be killed for them to turn back..
PowerPyx says
Yeah just replayed that part last night to test. If she only gets bitten in Chapter 6 she doesn’t turn by Chapter 8 (not enough time passed).
If she got bitten in Chapter 4 then she does turn in Chapter 8. So Emma must be bitten specifically in Chapter 4 for it to work.
I’m currently replaying from Chapter 4 and will update the walkthrough to incorporate Nobody’s Fool along the way.
johncar88 says
You do not have to shoot the bushes. I got the trophy with auto aim and it did not shoot the bushes. It also did not shoot the ceiling in chapter 5. So Jacob can stay alive.
PowerPyx says
Some other uses reported they didn’t get the trophy when not shooting the bushes. Only when replaying the game and shooting the bushes they got it. The game seems to be quite inconsistent with it. I’d say it’s definitely safer to shoot the bushes as that seems to be the guaranteed way to get it.
PowerPyx says
@Francis: When doing it like that can you still free-roam in the Chapter 9 bunker as Abi to pick up the Tarot?
Also, in that scenario you can’t get Emma infected in Chapter 4 or else she turns in Chapter 8 already. But this would lock you out of “Nobody’s Fool”? I assume if Emma turns in Chapter 9 bunker she is locked inside the bunker and doesn’t find a way out to reunite with Jacob for the Nobody’s Fool Ending. So you’d require another replay regardless.
johncar88 says
@Francis I did not think of that but it still doesn’t solve the problem for an all dead all tarot run since Emma would still be alive. Unless after she killed Abi she escape and there another way to kill her.
Jordi says
Step 1 mlght not be correct.
Nobody’s fool and kill all the Hackets trophies are incompatible.
In chaoter 10 there will be no option to kill Caleb.
In my playthrough Abi was infected too, so maybe there’s a chance that she might help you in chapter 10 if she’s not infected.
In my playthrough, in chapter 8 Abi gives Kaitlin the silver ammo to help against wolf Emma. Then, in chapter 10 Kaytlin can’t kill Caleb. There is no option to investigate and she will always hide in kitchen.
Please, check on that, because step 1 could be wrong.
PowerPyx says
I can 100% confirm that Nobody’s Fool and killing all Hacketts is compatible. Just did that myself last night. If you follow the walkthrough in step 1 (now updated to include Nobody’s Fool) you’ll get them in the same run.
Abi wasn’t infected in my playthrough. Emma turned into monster in Chapter 8, I shot her with regular shot. Abi survived and ran into bunker, picked up silver shell, Kaitlyn investigated Chris’ office where Abi gave her silver shell, Kaitlyn shot Caleb with silver shell.
Wally says
Its been posted a few times, but i just wanted to confirm. Peanut Butter Butterpops:
Auto aim works! Order:
-Nick shoots bottles and melons
-Ryan Shoots Bobby
-Ryan can shoot Jacob (Ryan will not shoot if you have auto aim on, BUT if he doesnt shoot, it doesnt stop you from getting the trophy)
-Abi shoots Nick
-Ryan shoots Chris
-Kaitlyn shoots Caleb (During chapter 10, when given the option of RUN or WAIT, choose wait, and shoot the werewolf)
-Laura Shoots Silas (Only obtainable if you are on good terms with Travis, and chose to infect Ryan to save his life)
Lastly, contrary to popular belief, you do not have to shoot Nick while playing as Laura. This means you can obtain this trophy on your “Everyone Survives” playthrough, and your “Nobody’s Fool”, depending on the choices you make. That means in one playthrough, you could potentially get all of the following trophies:
-Prologue
-Chapter 1-10
-Epilogue
-Rough Night
-Nick of Time
-The White Wolf
-Nobody’s Fool
-Above the Law
-Phlebotomy
-Bizzare Yet Bonafide
-Reactionist
-You’re Breathtaking!
-Peanut Butter Butterpops!
-Decked Out
-Forwarned is Forearmed
-It’s All Coming Together
-What’s This?
-The Truth is Out There
Hope this helps.
OTPYG says
I shot (and hit) at every opportunity that you listed *except* killing Jacob in chapter 4 during my Everyone Lives playthrough, and didn’t get the trophy. I even shot at a few extra opportunities (silver bullets with Kaitlyn in chapter 10). I only got it after going back and the only thing I changed was this time shooting Jacob.
Seems the game is being quite inconsistent!!
G-SKI says
When you say if it Ryan doesn’t shoot Jacob, it doesn’t affect the trophy, does that specifically regard having auto-aim on? Or is shooting Jacob not really a requirement if it doesn’t matter if Ryan doesn’t shoot?
PowerPyx says
I tried not shooting Jacob and didn’t get Butterpops. If you got the trophy without shooting him that may be a lucky bug. Pretty sure you are supposed to shoot him.
Hence, I don’t think you can combine Butterpops with the other trophies in 1 playthrough. Must be done in an extra run.
Wally says
Just to clarify, i was using auto aim, so that might have had something to do with it. Ryan scans the area where Jacob pops out, but he doesnt shoot. Im not sure if aiming manually negates the trophy or not though.
GPAP360 says
About the Peanut Butter Butterpops! trophy.
If you MOVE the shootgun before shoot you WILL NOT kill Jacob.
I did shoot (whitout move shootgun) BOTH TIMES AND KILLED Jacob. Will confirm if it works shooting both times when i finish…
Voormees says
I’m wondering can you earn achievements/trophies on movie mode ?
I’ve played two full play throughs for keeping everyone alive and I got all the collectibles minus two that you miss in chapter 2 but I went rock road.
I hate how chapter select deleted all my progress and I’ll lost everything so many times as nothing saves.
PowerPyx says
No, trophies don’t unlock in Movie Mode.
christian carrera says
if your starting chapter 2 with chapter select to get the missing clues from the glade do you have to get every collectible you got on previous playthrough to get credit for them since chapter select reset them
PowerPyx says
Everything from Chapter 2 onward must be recollected. You must have everything in the collectible menu / pause menu in chapter 10 for the trophy to pop.
GPAP360 says
Just unlocked the Peanut Butter Butterpops! so i want to share my steps too.
Auto-aim ON
Chapter 2 – Open the hut whit Abi / Emma, is NEEDED for the Chapter 5 shoot
Chapter 2 – Practice shoot WILL NOT broke the bottle. After that, shoot 1 bottle and 1 watermelon and another of whatever you want
Chapter 3 – Ryan take the shortcuts to save Dylan, theen shoot Bobby
Chapter 4 – The campfire scene. Ryan CALL, DON’T SHOOT the first time the bush move, wait for the second time the bush move AND DON’T MOVE THE JOYSTICK, JUST SHOOT. If you move the aim and shoot Jacob will survive and you MUST KILL HIM
Chapter 4 – Emma scene. Just go to the hut, open the trapdoor and let she die. This will save some time of your run. Obviously you don’t need she for anything.
Chapter 5 – Ryan and Dylan on the radio. When the monster is on the roof SHOOT ANYWHERE of the roof. It will change nothing, but is needed.
Chapter 6 – Abigail and Nick on the swimpool’s bathroom. Abigail must shoot Nick, if you did it good Abigail will stay alive.
Chapter 7 – Laura scene. You must need EVERYTHING step about the syringe, don’t pick the gun, and use the syringe to knockout Travis. All this is needed for Chapter 9 and 10.
Chapter 9 – Laura, Ryan and Abigail scene. Complete EVERY SINGLE QTE to keep both alive, Laura must bite Ryan, Abigail MUST PICK the silver bullets on the bunker (needed for chapter 10) and finally Ryan must shoot Chris to cure Laura and then partnert whit Travis.
Chapter 10 – Kaytlin and Dylan. After examine the portrait select RUN (this will avoid 1 extra shoot), when Abigail calls you go to the door to pick the silver bullets, then shoot Caleb.
Chapter 10 – Final scene. Raise your gun THE FIRST time you have chance and the shoot, don’t lose time killing Travis.
Trophy will unlock AFTER the witch scene, just when the forest scene of alives / deaths start.
RuffioLostBoy says
I have a theory for Hard Pass.
There’s only one tarot card you get that doesn’t give you the option to Move On: The Hierophant. And after selecting move on for all cards other than that one, I didn’t get the Forewarned is Forearmed trophy, meaning this doesn’tcount as having been helped by Eliza.
I believe this means you have to find all cards but skip finding The Hierophant, and say Move On for all other cards.
If this has already been explored, then just disregard. Lol
RuffioLostBoy says
Sorry, it counts as having been helped, but doesn’t count for getting a reading, is what I meant to say.
Joe says
I tried this and it doesn’t work.

I’ve alredy tried every trouble shooting technique for error ce-34878-0 and loaded my save 4 times and everytime it crashes because once i load it starts just before the character dies.

I haven’t had that issue yet.

Did someone try to get in touch with 2K/Supermassive to confirm whether Hard Pass trophy is bugged or obtainable?
Sealightbreeze says
I did -they were not very helpful. They told me to clear the cache that was in the system and I did that, and it still did not unlock …..other than that they told me to make sure I check my connection settings which makes absolutely no sense as other trophies of pop for this game and other game
MV2daP says
Is there a way to combine Peanut Butter Butterpops with any of the major runs the roadmap suggests?
Saving all? Killing all? Infecting all?
Or are we supposed to do an extra run while doing everything correctly to save them aöl, but shooting Jacob?
PowerPyx says
Butterpops can’t be combined with the other playthroughs.
Although one thing to point out here – someone said they got the trophy without shooting Jacob in Chapter 4. I think that must have been a lucky bug. Personally, I have not been able to get the trophy when not shooting Jacob. The only consistent way that I can confirm is that you have to shoot Jacob in Chapter 4 bushes.
The issue is this voids the Everyone Lives run as well as Jacob’s collectibles in Chapter 6 (Jacob dies when shooting him in the bushes). Hence you can’t combine it with any of the other playthroughs.
Likewise, shooting Nick as Abi in Chapter 6 for Butterpops voids the “Everyone Dies” run because then Nick doesn’t kill Abi. Although you can get Abi still killed in Chapter 8 if Emma was infected in Chapter 4, you then can’t kill infected Emma which still voids Everyone dying.
You can’t combine it with Everyone Infected either because Jacob must get infected in Chapter 6 but shooting him in Chapter 4 means he’s dead by that point.
Conclusion: Butterpops can’t be combined with any of the other playthroughs.
GPAP360 says
I did this way:
1: All survived + Clues + Tarot
2: All infected + Other clues
3: Butterpops + Ema and Jacob death on the way. Then start from chapter 6 to kill Abigail and all others characters for All death run.
Then just load previous chapter to unlock the others trophies.
xAFT3RL1FEx says
It is possible i got peanutbutter trophy same time i got the jacob tells emma the truth trophy and would of got every one survive since i didnt kill anyone. I had my aim set to auto and its one of the times it doesnt auto shoot
YoBoiLilJ101 says
Just wanna add some things about ‘Peanut butter butterpops!’
I just did my run and didn’t get the trophy. However I didn’t follow the guide 1 for 1 so their are some things that must’ve messed it up.
1. I had Emma get infected and didn’t miss the entire time and used a regular shell whenever she jumps out of the Van.
2. I didn’t get the syringe and I took Travis gun but didn’t shoot him.
Other then all that I did everything else that the guide said.
Ben says
The second one is probably why you didn’t get the trophy. You can’t miss or just not shoot when you are given the opportunity to use the gun, no matter if it’ll result in a character’s death or not
John says
I unlocked the Hard Pass trophy and have no idea how, but I will tell you when it unlocked for me. I collected all the tarot cards. I selected Move On each time. After beating the game, I started from Chapter 9 to get the alternate ending where Laura reunites with Max. When Chapter 9 ended, the trophy unlocked for me during that sequence with Eliza. Not sure if going for that ending has anything to do with unlocking it or not.
anasterion says
Did you pick The Hierophant card as well? Did it unlock after you pressed move on just during the cutscene with Eliza?
Ben says
I think the trophy just bugged out for you and you got a lucky trophy pop because I did that exact thing too and the trophy didn’t pop for me when they reunited.
unequalized says
Congrats! A few questions to try to narrow things down.
• Was the playthrough/save file you did to beat the game started before or after the patch that came out earlier this week?
• Did you not collect the Heirophant card during your replay of Chapter 9?
• Did you kill the Hacketts? Aside from Laura and Max, did all of the other playable characters survive?
Philip Munn says
I’m a Chinese player, sorry my English is poor. But I have to ask because the most important thing you didn’t say: when you start from Chapter 9 to get the “Laura reunites with Max” alternate ending, do you collect the tarot cards again? If you do, you collect all them as 4/4? Or as 3/4 except “The Hierophant”?
GPAP360 says
Could you please confirm if Emma and Abigail where alive or not?
Joe says
Just tried this and it did NOT work.
BRAINSTEMReviews says
Do you remember the alive/dead status of the Hacketts? Did you keep them all alive?
Also, did you kill Eliza in the flashback or keep her alive?
Philip Munn says
Just tried, didn’t work. Yeah I think he’s just lucky, that’s all. This trophy bugged!
Maverick says
My pendrive save copy isn’t visible in game, so I can only start the new game, can’t continue. How fix this ?
GPAP360 says
Want to share some info about the Hard Pass trophy. (Or maybe not)
1-
The icon of the trophy is a Raven and there are specific cards whit ravens:
1,3,7,6,9,11,13,12,14,17,18,20,21
And the ones whitout ravens are:
2,5,4,8,9,15,16,19,22
Maybe whe should pick just the ravens ones, don’t see their future, finish game or some mix of steps.
—————
2-
If you pick the Tarot #3: The Hanged Man on chapter 2 and then KILL JACOB on the lake, Elize will say “there’s no future on this card, but i can show you the past” and you will see a secret scene where you see Bobby and Jedeiah drowing the body on the lake. The future of this card is Jacob head down on the trap of Bobby on chapter 3, and because Jacob is death you can’t see that.
Maybe we need this for anything? Maybe we can see more past scenes from others cards?
—————
3-
In chapter 8 (maybe in anymore?) when you finish the chapter you will see a “secret” whit the camera looking in some places of the cave BUT you will ear a special song (or not) if you pick some of the 4 cards that are found there. I should check one more time to see how this work exactly.
—————
4-
When you ask for the future of some cards, if you go to the tarot cards menus you will NOT SEE THE FUTURE SCENE as a “icon” of the card, instead of that you will see a special icon from where YOU PICK the card. Is hard to explain, so there are 2 pics.
If you DON’T use one this this “special” cards to see the future:
ibb.co/qYCBzJL
If you USE one of this “special” cards to see the future:
ibb.co/1fjFf7h
Maybe we must see the future of this “special cards” and then do something to unlock the Hard pass Trophy? You only see the “special icon” on the cards you pick on chapter 9, and the icon will appear just AFTER select they on the Eliza screen, just when the future is about to start.
—————
5-
The future of the chapter 9 cards CHANGE to the characters that are alive. For example, if you use the cards 18 or 20 (ravens ones) and Laura is ALIVE you will see her killing Silas and Killing Travis, BUT if Laura dies on chapter 9 you will see (at least in my case) a scene of Kaytlin fighting Caleb in the lodge.
Maybe there is a very special / secret future scene that we must see and then do or not to unlock the hard pass trophy?
Another example, if you use card 19 (Sun) you will se the ending scene of Abigail, but i don’t know what you will see if see is death on the pool. And Abigail is the character who should pick the Hierofant (card 21) too see the Circus scene… maybe i should check what happends whit that.
—————
And that’s all, hope something of this can help us to unlock the trophy.
GPAP360 says
Sorry i misspelled in 2- point about the the “past card”.
Is the Ermit card (card 9) in chapter 5 which show you how Jacob goes to the bear traps on chapter 6. That’s why you don’t see this future, because he dies on chapter 3 drowing, or after when Ryan shoot him on the bushes.
nawaf says
For the trophy ” Peanu Butter Butterpops ” DO NOT Shot monster on the rooftop . If you shot you will be missied him . i did not shot him and got the trophy in the end of the game
Robert says
I got Butterpops during the “Everyone infected/Collect all Clues” run.
I set the aim to auto and it popped during the “who lived and died” epilogue.
BRAINSTEMReviews says
Is it possible that the trophy is obtainable in a certain way but only unlocks when picking “MOVE ON” again in a chapter replay?
MatrixPrince says
Is there a way to combine “Nobody’s Fool” with “Blood Pact”
PowerPyx says
For “Nobody’s Fool” Jacob can’t get infected but for “Blood Pact” he obviously must get infected. So they cancel out each other, can’t be combined.
Ben says
They can’t be combined, but you can do a Nobody’s Fool run right after the Blood Pact run. Just Chapter select back to Chapter 6 and uninfect Jacob, and the just keep him alive until the end.
Ben says
Theory for the Hard Pass trophy:
You know how sometimes when you hear whispers that say things like “somethings here, run.” maybe to get the trophy you have to do the opposite of that if given the choice.
Jon says
Can you get nobodys fool achievement combined with any other playthrough exceptt the everyone lives, i followed the everyone lives guide before it was added and im going to to do the rest of the guides but was just checking to save time
Ben says
No, “Nobody’s Fool” can’t be combined with any main playthrough. However I’m fairly positive you can get both “Nobody’s Fool” and “We Should’ve Gone to The Motel” in the same playthrough since both trophies deal with different characters.
bryaneuhwee says
I just got the Hard Pass trophy and the platinum !
DISCLAIMER: You need to have the physical/disk edition. I’m on PS5.
Step 1: Backed up my game save just in case to the cloud.
Step 2: Deleted the game from my library
Step 3: Went offline and reinstalled the game with 1.00 version.
Step 4: I played the game from scratch, picked up all Tarot cards EXCEPT “The Hierophant” card. Every time, I choose “MOVE ON” when face to face with Eliza.
Trophy popped as soon as chapter 9 ends !
REMEMBER, you MUST NOT pick the Hierophant tarot card #21 in Chapter 9.
Hope it helps !! This is indeed a bug and hope Supermassive will release a patch to help with this.
bryaneuhwee says
Might I also add an additional note:
The requirements are super easy, just choose “MOVE ON” when you are faced with Eliza. Make sure you collect at least ONE Tarot card for each chapter.
PowerPyx says
Thanks, I’ve added this in for now.
I saw several reports that it’s obtainable with 1.00. Although there are differing reports as to what Tarot you can miss (others missed only “Justice” and picked up all else). My guess is that it has nothing to do with Tarots at all and it’s just for always picking “MOVE ON”. But at this point we can only wait and hope for a proper patch.
anasterion says
Tried this method yesterday as well and it didn’t work. Uninstalled game. Installed game from disc version 1.00. Went offline mode (settings/connect to internet – disabled). Backed up save file to cloud. Deleted save file from console. Started the game and played as new game in one sitting. Picked all cards except The Hierophant. Choosed Move On each time and nothing popped at the end of chapter 9 nor end of chapter 10… It is still just random luck, so better not to waste time and wait for a fix.
anasterion says
* additional info
Unless someone who got trophy shares video recording of their full playthrough with trophy pop as proof or when next patch releases we see note of trophy fix in there I suggest not to even bother with it for now. Just simple luck for people who got it and a waste of time. It has nothing to do with patch version/console offline mode.
Jordi says
I’m on ps4 and I did that. Played the 1.00 version. Replayed chapter 9. I picked up every tarot card in previous chapters and in chapter 9 I didn’t pick up the hierophant. I chose “move on” everytime. Still no trophy.
Cornilius says
So, restart chapter 1 from chapter select, and start a new game are the same right ?
Because you lose everything, all evidences, collectibles, and choices so…
PowerPyx says
Yes, but you get to skip the Prologue if you do that (saves you maybe 30 minutes).
Holydiver says
Good piece of advice for the Hackett’s, CALEB survives the freezer if SILAS isn’t killed. That will make you have to replay chapter 10 to use the silver bullets from EMMA and not the freezer.
Mark says
given up on the “Move on” with the old woman. doesn’t seem to matter if you do it all and miss out the one card she hates near the end. or whether you do anything.
3 playthroughs telling the old bag to suck one. and no trophy.
damn things going to be bugged forever for me
Philip Munn says
Again, I’m a Chinese player, sorry for my poor English. I really think we should send E-mail together to 2K and SuperMassive, telling them that “Hard Pass” trophy is bugged. If we don’t, they might not be able to fix it. After all, only few players care about trophies, maybe 2K or SuperMassive don’t even hear about this situation, or maybe they don’t realize how much it bothers us. The more people E-mail them, the more likely they are going to fix it. Otherwise why would they even bother?
PowerPyx says
The developers are already aware of it. Will hopefully get a patch soon.
Ben says
There’s supposed to be a multiplyer patch coming by the first week of July, so hopefully with that comes a fix as well
Tydeus says
I don’t know how a multiplayer thing could work for this game other than couch co-op style over the internet.
I don’t think trophies are really their priority though, I’d imagine they’ll get some of their game breaking stuff out of the way, if any. The only bug I’ve noticed is that if you use a death rewind and quit the game, 9/10 your game will corrupt.
I was going for Peanutbutter Butterpops and decided to save before Laura shoots Ryan and used a death rewind because I wanted to try it without first and was too late, the death rewind erased the mother from the conversations with Travis lol, as the scene progressed only her hair showed up.
Tydeus says
Peanutbutter Butterpops
I can confirm autoaim works.
You don’t need to kill Jacob, shoot the shack roof, or have Laura kill Nick.
Ben says
Question about the Pop Pop Peanut Butter Buterpops! Trophym in chapter 2 it says to shoot the left watermelon when you’re far away, then again when closer, plus a total of three bottles, but the game only lets you shoot two. Am I doing something wrong?
PowerPyx says
You hit 2 bottles on the left in 1 shot. You get 4 shots total (1 from far away which won’t destroy whatever you hit, then another 3 shots).
anasterion says
You can also set aim assist – auto in the accessibility settings. Trophy will still unlock. I got it with this setting on patch 1.000.002.
Tydeus says
It’s not specific to that one scene. You have to not miss the entire game.
Jordi says
I didn’t shoot any bottle. I shot the three watermelons and still got the trophy.
Longjiao says
I started the game from scratch with no save data at all on version 1.00 and played and collected every single card from prologue to end of chapter 7 and chose move on every time and the trophy popped after i chose move on at the end of chapter 7
Jordi says
Congratulations, but maybe it was just luck!!! Some people got it in chapter 7, some in chapter 8 and some in chapter 9. I don’t know if it’s worth trying because it takes many hours.
Amaya says
Same, the trophy just popped for me as well at the end of chapter 7
Alex says
Do we have to sit through the credits every time we finish a playthrough to unlock Chapter Select?
Alex says
Don’t think we do. I tested it on my The Final Girl playthrough, when the end credits started with the Bizzare Yet Bonafide podcast, I quit to main menu and Chapter Select was available.
hoppie69 says
No, you didn’t have to. You can go to the main menu as soon as the epilogue starts.
anasterion says
Looks like there is now guaranteed solution for Hard Pass trophy. I posted my strat on psnprofiles forum thread yesterday after I got trophy and will share it here as well. Should work also for digital owners as in that same forum thread already some people confirmed that they got that trophy. So basically you should play as you wish, choices do not matter like killing playable characters characters or scaring crow/looking in to window/picking up phones etc. Main thing for trophy to pop is to close the game after each hag encounter and choosing move on, then wait for transitioning into the next chapter and after you see auto save icon at the bottom right corner. Following this method it popped for me and some other guys after chapter 5 (if done correctly). So after prologue/ch1/2/3/4 hag cutscene/transition into next chapter/auto save icon appeared and saved game, close game (ps button/option button/close game), reopen it, choose continue game. If done correctly after you choose continue game you should see hag again where game saved your choice as move on. I personally did it on patch 1.00, but there are people who confirmed trophy pop on digital version as well. Hope it helps for you guys as well. As this trophy bugged me for a nice of 50 hours.
PowerPyx says
Thanks anasterion for your detailed explanation. I added this workaround and credited you in the trophy description 🙂
Jordi says
I tried this on ps4. After choosing “move on” I waited for the autosave icon and immediately closed the game. When reloading, it just starts on the next chapter.
cory says
work around for hard pass on updated versions is working.
collecat atleast 1 card every chapter then right after moved on close game then reload you save it registers as having 2 move ons, do this until chapter 5 and trophy should unlock at the end of chapter 5
im testing where you can just go back to main menu after move on to see if that works as well.
cory says
actually instead of closeing game all you have to do is go back to main menu after moving on and it will un lock after chapter 5 or 11 triggers
0x6d616e61 says
Thanks for the workaround. Did that after starting a new game and the achievement popped on the Steam version at the end of chapter 5. 🙂
OTPYG says
Can confirm this works, got it after chapter 5 on my patched disc version on PS5.
Jordi says
I tried going to main menu after chosing “move on” and reloading the game didn’t let me choose again and it just started after decision.
C says
The last two trophies I needed were Peanut Butter Butterpops and Hard Pass. I have already played the game soooo many times to get all the other ones so I was looking to make it easy and turned it to “auto” for shooting, QTE, and mashing X so that I could pay very little attention during a play-through with the hopes of getting the Peanut Butter Butterpops trophy, which I did end up getting, so you can be super lazy and turn a bunch of stuff on auto and get it if you want. Don’t have to shoot Jacob or the wolf in the radio shack, and you can stop Laura from shooting Nick. So you can actually pair this up with the Everyone Survives trophy because for me everyone did end up surviving. I just didn’t know this when I did the Everyone Survives play-through. I think the only thing I did differently during this play-through vs. the Everyone Survives one is that I had Kaitlyn wait and shoot Caleb first instead of running right away.
C says
Oh one other thing I did different from the Everyone Lives play-through is I had Laura raise the gun right away during my PBBP play-through whereas on the Everyone Lives I didn’t have her do that since I was pairing that with Family Matters, so the difference to get PBBP vs. Family Matters during an Everyone Lives play-through could be having Kaitlyn wait and shoot and/or having Laura raise the gun right away.
AlexSobecki says
Can confirm getting Hard Pass is possible and can be replicated at least on Xbox Series X and Xbox One, someone else will have to verify on PS4/PS5. Start a new game and grab any of the Tarot cards in each chapter. At the end of a chapter, select “Move On” and then immediately quit out of the game and relaunch. Keep doing this at the end of each chapter and the achievement/trophy should unlock when you’re starting up Chapter 6. Myself and four others on TrueAchievements verified this and it worked for all of us.
Philip Munn says
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the last comment I write for this game, I just got the *HARD PASS* trophy. I can confirm that the new method which “anasterion” said, is totally working on my PS5 with game patch 1.000.002. Thanks, mate!!!
DreamboatDalton says
Hard Pass related. PS5 digital copy user. I started a new game, would choose “Move On” at end of each chapter, exited to main menu, then quit out the game for each chapter. It unlocked for me at end of Ch. 7. Thank you for the trick. My OCD was not happy to see a game not at 100%.
Jordi says
I finally managed to get Hard Pass trophy. For those like me who were confused about some explanations, here’s the thing.
After choosing “move on” at the end of the chapter, close immediately the game. Relaunch and continue your playthrough. It will start just after your decision, but it’s ok. Seems this is a way for the game to correctly register your decision.
Starting a new game and following this steps at the end of each chapter will get you the trophy at the end of chapter 5.
Lecster says
You can just back out to the main menu and continue. Don’t need to close the game entirely.
Lecster says
Can confirm you could combine PEANUT BUTTER BUTTERPOPS! with the all infected run.
I set to auto aim all the whole time, hence automatically skipped killing Jacob in chapter 4, shooting the roof in chapter 5 and I did not let Laura shoot Nick in chapter 8.
The trophy popped right at the start of epilogue.
Law says
Can you explain how this works? So I get both trophies to pop same playthrough or just do longer progress for replay?
Robert says
Also got the Hard Pass trophy by going to the main menu right after choosing Move On after getting at least one card per chapter from Prologue to the end of Chapter 5.
Joe says
Regarding HARD PASS
I can confirm that the trick mentioned in the guide works.
Find at least one tarot card in each chapter > choose move on > quit game immediately > continue game > repeat until end of Ch. 5
Just had the trophy pop immediately after choosing to move on in Ch. 5.
SkeletonGrimm67 says
Just did 2 runs on Peanut butter butterpops trophy but didn’t get it. Did the same thing like the guide said. Just Emma died and i used Auto aim. Any Suggestion?
PowerPyx says
I didn’t have auto-aim enabled. Not sure if that matters. I’ll at a note about that to the guide as a precaution.
Try without auto-aim.
Rockhopper78 says
I got peanut butter pops on my everyone infected run. I had auto aim on entire game. It doesn’t shoot Jacob in bushes. I let Laura shoot Nick in the cage. And I had the extra combat encounter with Emma in chapter 8. And in chapter 10 I chose wait with Kaitlin to get an extra shot. And then I also went to the white wolf and had a combat encounter there. Unlocked peanut butter pops.
Mazen Nasser says
Is it possible to do your 1st playthrough with all collectibles and everyone survives without tarrot cards?
I have done a run where i got all tarrot cards. So my question is can i do SHADY GLADE in Chapter2 instead of Rocky Road.?
Alex says
Finally got the platinum using anasterion’s workaround for Hard Pass. Unlocked after chapter 5, thanks.
Firrin says
You don’t have to completely close the game when doing the “hard pass” workaround – pausing it and quitting to the main menu, then continuing works too!
Joseph Sultana says
I managed to get Hard Pass trophy today thanks to the updated statement above. I was very skeptical about it but found no harm in trying. The trophy popped out just as I chose Move on Chapter 5; no I didn’t need to close the game after the choice like in other chapters. For the record I’m also playing the digital version.
Windy says
U can now update the guide the Hard pass trophy has been fix.
PowerPyx says
There is some confusion about whether it has really been fixed or not. Because there are varied reports of it still not unlocking, neither with old save near end of game nor with replaying through New Game. The workaround to immediately quit game after Eliza’s dialogues supposedly still unlocks the trophy.
I need more confirmation on this by anyone who unlocked it post-patch.
Rockhopper78 says
So the game updated supposedly fixing the hard pass trophy. I had a save at chapter 9 Eliza scene. I selected move on. But still no trophy. What is required to unlock it now? Do I have to play the game again?
Note: on this save I had skipped tarot in chapter 2 cause it was my infected and clue trophy run so I had to go to the shady glade in chapter 2. But I collected tarot in every other chapter.
Jetli says
Well I just got the Hard Pass trophy with the workaround just after quitting the game at Chapter 5, but what sucks though is that the trophy popped in the PS main menue.
Also if you spare Constance and Jedediah Hacket, and didn´t stab Bobby with his knife then he will both protect them against Werewolf Chris and they will survive.
Nothing says
The Hard Pass workaround still works as of today, just got it after chapter 5 with using this method.
Absolute says
Great game, I just found it tedious when I had to do so much replays to get the platinum *sad face*
InnesJack says
Just to confirm, Hard Pass has now been fixed with latest patch
Ray_HayabusaN7 says
I can also confirm the Hard Pass trophy is fixed with the latest patch. It unlocked for me at the end of chapter 9.
Georgia says
I have a problem with the manual save on my PS4! I just completed the “Everyone Lives” playthrough. I uploaded this save to the ps+ cloud and tried to reload it back after chapter select. The PS says it’s in my system storage but when I go onto the game itself, it doesn’t show up! Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.
Chase says
can you still use the Hard Pass work around even after the patch? i would hate to have to do another full play-through for this trophy. the game already requires many play-throughs.
victheterror says
Hi! Thanks for the guide!
Which playthrough would you recommend combining with the Mutually Assured trophy as it’s missing from your roadmap!
Is it possible to do in the Everyone Dies playthrough? I’m thinking it could be but I might be wrong in how things play out at the end of chapter 9 if Ryan doesn’t accept Laura’s bite!
-(as Laura, chapter 7) Shoot Travis in the cell so that he kills Laura in chapter 9
-(as Ryan, chapter 9) Don’t accept Laura’s bite so he bleeds out
-(as Ryan, chapter 9) Don’t shoot monster Chris so Laura isn’t cured and kills Travis
Unless I’m mistaken, this should kill all three of them in that scene instead of having Travis kill Ryan and survive (as instructed in your Everyone Dies playthrough guide) and the Mutually Assured trophy should get unlocked too!
victheterror says
Wait no never mind you have to shoot Chris to cure Max so you can kill him
PowerPyx says
Chapter Select.
Thermopyle2 says
Yes, you can do it during the Everybody Dies run. Make sure to ACCEPT Laura’s bite, then when you get to the attic, back up your save. From there, fail to kill Chris, at which point Laura and Travis will kill each other for Mutually Assured. You’ll roll into chapter 10, at which point you have Max swim to the island to be killed, then as Kaitlyn trigger the attack, wait, then fail her QTE so she dies and you’ll get Everybody Dies.
From here, use chapter select for chapter 10, kill Max again, then follow Kaitlyn’s survival steps to get The Final Girl.
Finally, reload your save backup in the attic, kill Chris, then kill Travis after he kills Laura. This will leave Ryan alive when you roll into chapter 10, at which point you kill Max and Kaitlyn again for Last Man Standing.
The reason for the attic backup is because the attic is right at the end of chapter 9, and with the correct choices you can quickly pop all the kill/survival variation trophies without having to redo the entire house and junkyard sequences.
JoKyR says
@Thermopyle2 I don’t think that works. If you don’t kill Chris, Max won’t be cured, and you won’t get to kill him. I think the best way to get this achievement is just to backup a save right before the attic, fail to kill Chris, let Laura and Travis kill each other, and then load the save back up and continue as normal.
4ipuxa says
One of the most Boring and Exhausting Platinums Ever.
Was going into it hoping to do PS4 and PS5 ones, barely did PS5.
Lee Nemesis says
Can confirm Peanut Butter works from the guide, I had done a playthrough without shooting ryan in bushes and didn’t pop so relieved it worked thanks. 6 playthroughs and I’m wiped!
Don says
Is the PBBP trophy updated yet? I’ve been reading a lot of conflicting stories about the target practice, shooting Jacob, shooting the ceiling in the radio hut and where to start in chapter select. I’m about to start my run for this trophy (platinum) and I would really appreciate speedy responses. This will be the 7 time I’ve played the game. I want this to be the last. Please and thank you.
PowerPyx says
In the guide it’s exactly how I got it.
Little-Psychoes says
The PBBP trophy seems to be glitched since the last Update (1.05).
I followed the guide and double checked it in my paths.
Little-Psychoes says
Edit: Put the settings to Auto-Shoot all the time and Game will decide all Encounters right to unlock the Trophy
Snake2410 says
For the epilogue trophy you have to let the credits finish or it won’t pop. Might be helpful to add that to the guide.
Seth says
So… do you NEED to get a tarot card in every chapter? I just did a playthrough always picking move on & it didn’t pop. I went for the collectables in chapter 2 instead of the card. My first playthrough was before the patch when I got all the cards.
T.J. says
I was able to get the peanutbutter butter pops trophy after I accidentally didn’t hide the syringe in the jail cell and had to shoot Travis which led to him killing Laura in chapter 9. Which thank god because I was so mad I forgot to hide it and thought I had to go through all that again. Maybe having Dylan shoot Travis after he killed Laura made up for it. I did everything else the guide said.
CharlieB says
Please tell me you don’t have to sit through the loooooong credits after steps 3 and 6 to get chapter select back? I’ve a horrible feeling you do.
CharlieB says
Thankfully I found out myself you don’t. The game registers it as complete after the recap of who lived or died and saves at that point. That reactivates chapter select in the main menu and you can safely quit during the credits.
CharlieB says
The “Mutually Assured” Trophy for Laura and Travis killing each other isn’t mentioned in any of the steps in the guide. When is the best time to get it, does it have to be dome individually using chapter select, or can it be combined with other Trophies such as only Ryan or Kaitlyn surviving using rewind?
CharlieB says
Just to add to this you can combine Mutually Assured with Last Man Standing providing you have Death Rewind activated and at least 1 life remaining.
I followed the steps for Last Man Standing up to the point monster Chris attacks Laura and Ryan and they crash through the floor. Following that I didn’t shoot Chris, Ryan will die as a result but Laura and Travis will kill each other for Mutually Assured. You will then get the option to rewind using a life, so do that. It will say to save Laura but you will actually restart with Ryan aiming the gun at Chris. This time shoot monster Chris, Travis will kill Laura and then you must shoot Travis as Ryan.
Next simply carry on into chapter 10 ensuring Max and Kaitlyn die and Last Man Standing will unlock at the end of the game.
PowerPyx says
Any time using Chapter Select.
CharlieB says
I’m confused. I’m now doing an all infected playthrough and wanted to combine it with the Peanut Butter Butterpops Trophy. The guide is adamant though that you have to shoot Jacob in the bushes to get Butterpops, which would kill him thus voiding the infected Trophy. However other people have said shooting Jacob at that point isn’t required for Butterpops, so you can avoid shooting him in the bushes and let him live to get infected in Chapter 6. Therefore getting both Trophies in the same run. So can you or can’t you?

Butterpops only unlocked for me when shooting Jacob. It never unlocked when not shooting Jacob in the bushes. I did probably 30 playthroughs of the game total testing everything many times.
I don’t know why or how it pops for some people without shooting Jacob, you might get a lucky bug and it unlocks by mistake. But how it’s supposed to work and what pops it 100% guaranteed is shooting Jacob.

I’ve combined infected playthrough with Peanut Butter Butterpops Trophy, it worked for me.
Details:
1) auto-aim -> ON (game will be easier)
2) i didn’t shot to Jacob in the bushes on Chapter 4
3) i didn’t shot to Nick (werewolf) in Chapter 8
4) i’ve killed old lady in Chapter 9
5) other like PowerPyx suggests (Infected/Peanut playthroughs)

Finally got the Platinum now. I needed Blood Pact, Meddling Kids and Peanut Butter Butterpops and got all 3 on the same run. So Butterpops can definitely be combined with getting everyone infected.
A few points about PBBP.
Apart from the bottles and melons target practice I had aim assist on Auto the whole time.
I only shot melons at the target range.
I didn’t let Laura shoot monster Nick when he’s in the cage.
The game didn’t shoot Jacob in the bushes, and it didn’t shoot at the ceiling in the radio shack and I still got the trophy, all other times it shot and hit the target.
Maybe it’s different without auto aim on, I don’t know, but he doesn’t need to be shot with auto aim it seems. Other people have also got the trophy using auto aim without Jacob being shot, so it’s not just me.

Did y’all know in the epilogue did you kill everyone plus hacketts and silas there’s a secret pod cast name called no soul left alive i mean I was too lazy to finish because it’s too long. It was pretty surprising that killing everyone unlocks a secret podcast

I got Butterpops, Blood Pact and Meddling Kids all in the same playthrough.
I followed the Everyone Survives guide and Blood Pact guide simultaneously with auto aim set to AUTO the entire time, starting at chapter 2 (for collectibles). Scenes like the bushes and radio room, the game didn’t shoot for me but the trophy still popped. I didn’t press R2 the entire game.
I have a feeling that is possible to have everyone survive in the same playthrough as Blood Pact and Butterpops as well. The only person who died in my playthrough was Emma. Infected Jacob killed her. If you don’t free him from his cage earlier in the game, he can’t kill her in theory. But idk.
symbiosis says
If you did not free Jacob (infected) as Ryan, he will be freed when Laura smashes the Electric box then will kill Emma. so Everyone survives does not go with Everyone infected.
However butterpops will go with either provided you are at auto aim the entire game
John E. Quick III says
As far as I know, if you pick up Emma’s bracelet in Chapter 1, (off the ground near the fence before going inside to get the bags), then Jacob won’t kill Emma when they meet up during the infected run.

Forewarned is Forearmed did not unlock for me after “see more”
symbiosis says
got it after another chapter where i had 2 cards

I didn’t shoot Jacob, or fire in the radio shack and the peanut butter butterpops achievement popped for me

Thanks again Powerpyx + Team, for the guide.
I absolutely adore this game, but after several mini and full runs, I gotta say, I can now see why many folks are upset with the game’s overall design structure, especially with how Trophies and Chapter select are implemented.
The lack of skip dialogue is also troublesome, but I’m used to it as I’ve played quite a few Adventure games where you cannot do it either.
Lastly… LAURA is best Waifu! Lol…

WARNING:
Hi P.P and community. I was playing The Quaary v1.07 PS4 version on my PS5, and when I chose Movie Mode, I got the trophy and immediately quit to main menu. BUT doing so CORRUPTED my save file!!
I can’t say this will happen to anyone/everyone, but just be careful and always keep a backup save on a USB AND Cloud PS+ (so, two save files total). It never hurts to be extra safe with save files!
Pontiffsulyvahn says
Infecting everyone and saving them can be done in one playthrough no?
Violet says
Yes. Make sure you pick up the silver bracelet in Chapter 1.

How I earned Peanut Butter Butterpops! : I missed one of the 2 bottles in the tutorial but hit the watermelon and a solo bottle. I then turned on Auto Aim and played the game how I wanted. I did not shoot the ceiling, the bushes or Nick in the cage. I did shoot the table, Emma and Silas. But all shots were done automatically. Trophy popped after the epilogue.
