Introduction
Welcome to The Pathless Trophy Guide! The Pathless is an indie open-world game in which you play as the Hunter who embarks on a perilous journey to lift the curse on an island corrupted by the Godslayer. The Pathless is a very fun Platinum, featuring fun traversal, combat and puzzle mechanics.
To unlock the Platinum trophy you need nearly 100% completion. With only a few trophies tied to the story, most trophies are tied to Collectibles. Although there is no in-game map, all Collectibles are still marked in the world by three different lights: blue for Lore, stronger red for Lightstones, and weaker red for Lanterns. You can always see a Collectible’s location by pressing at any point during the game (best done from high-up locations, like obelisks). There’s also a bunch of trophies tied to miscellaneous activities you can unlock at any point during the game or clean up after the story.
Nothing is missable and you can revisit all Plateaus after completing the story. The only trophy you need to watch out for is Storm Survivor. This is missable because once you’ve cleansed each Plateau of their curse, the storm will disappear and therefore locking you out of it. The good news is that if you miss it, you can start a new game and unlock it within the first 30 minutes. Additionally, Sky Master is semi-missable depending on how many times you get spotted by the corrupted creatures while trapped in a storm.
Step 1: Play through the Story while Collecting As Much As Possible
Your first step is simple. Enjoy this beautifully written story. To avoid too much mopping up after the story, try to collect as many Collectibles as possible. Whatever you miss can be cleaned up after the story.
Step 2: Collectibles Mop-Up and Extended Ending
After you’ve beaten the story, you’ll be brought back to the Main Menu. From here, hit Continue and you’ll be warped back to the Mountain Tundra. Time to clean up any Lightstones, Lore or Lanterns you’ve left behind.
Step 3 (optional): Miscellaneous Trophies
This step is optional and can be easily combined with Step 2. If you still have some miscellaneous trophies left to unlock, take care of them now. Congrats on your new shiny Platinum trophy!
The Pathless Trophy Guide
No Path Untraveled Collect all trophies. |
||
Earn all other trophies in The Pathless to unlock Platinum (no DLC needed!)
1000 Talismans Shot Shoot 1,000 talismans. |
||
One of the ways to traverse through the Plateaus in The Pathless is by shooting at talismans scattered across the world. Once your arrow hits one, you’ll get a speed boost. This trophy will unlock naturally, so don’t worry about it. You’ll be hitting way more than 1,000 talismans over the course of your adventure and will most likely unlock it in the initial stages of the game.
Acrobat Shoot 5 talismans while airborne before touching the ground. |
||
One of the ways to traverse through the Plateaus in The Pathless is by shooting at talismans scattered across the world. Once your arrow hits one, you’ll get a speed boost. This trophy is most easily unlocked as you fly around the map with your eagle. It will most likely unlock quite naturally, so don’t worry about it.
Sky Master Get 10 flaps. |
||
*SEMI-MISSABLE*
Early in the story you will meet your companion, an eagle. The eagle is essential to quickly reach high-altitude locations and get across a Plateau much faster. To gain altitude, your eagle can use flaps. You start with one flap, but over the course of the story you will unlock 4 more, one after each Plateau’s boss. To get to 10 you need Crystals which can be collected either by finding Lanterns’ locations and solving their puzzles or by opening chests scattered across the world (marked in a weaker red after pressing ). This is trophy is semi-missable. If you happen to get caught in a storm and spotted by the corrupted creature too many times, you can lose experience and potentially flaps, making it more difficult to get to 10. Losing one flap during your first encounter with the Godslayer is scripted, so don’t worry about that. |
||
Skill Shot Master Chain 10 skill shots in a row. |
||
To perform a skill shot, you need to shoot at a talisman and release once the diamond is only half full. The trophy icon itself shows you exactly when you need to release the trigger. If you’ve done this successfully, you should see a gold spark coming out of the talisman’s diamond. You can do this on the same talisman if you so prefer.
Epic Flight Fly for over a minute without touching an updraft. |
||
This is best done once you have at least 5 flaps. Once you do, reach a really high location (the Old Fortress or the Observatory are really good for this) and swoop yourself up. As you fly around the world, time your flaps to gain altitude when needed. Otherwise, just simply continue playing through the story and eventually it will unlock naturally as you travel to each Collectible’s location.
Super Slide Slide 400 meters down a steep slope. |
||
Steep slopes can be easily found all around the Mountain Tundra Plateau. Just reach a high point with your eagle and once you’ve found a mountainside that’s steep enough, drop down and slide.
Epic Landing Fall 150 meters without gliding and land hard. |
||
This will unlock quite naturally as you go from one obelisk to the next. To fall 150 meters without gliding and land hard, simply jump off a really high place. Obelisks are really good for this. It doesn’t matter if you’ve cleansed it or not.
River Rider Drift 300 meters down a river. |
||
To drift 300 meters down a river, simply jump in the water and let the river current carry you. This is best done in the first Plateau of the game, The Forest. Here are many rivers.
Trick Shot Bounce an arrow off two mirrors. |
||
This trophy will unlock naturally as you go for all Lightstones.
High Flyer Reach the highest updraft above the mountain. |
||
Next to the highest obelisk in the Mountain Tundra is an updraft. It is best reached once you have 8 or more flaps. Simply fly into it and let it swoop you upwards. This will unlock the trophy.
Observer Reach the observatory. |
||
The Observatory is found in the Mountain Tundra. You will naturally visit this as you go for all Lightstones.
Cold Hike Reach the old fortress. |
||
The Old Fortress is found in the Redwood Steppe. You will naturally visit this as you go for the Lore locations needed for The Pathfinder’s Tale.
Forest Whisperer Run with 6 animals. |
||
This is probably the most annoying trophy in the game. To have an animal run with you, you need to run after it for a while until it glows gold. Once it glows gold, you can stop and the animal will start running with you. Repeat for 5 animals. What makes this annoying is that the gold sparkle is very hard to notice and the animals can stop following you without a real reason. This is best done in the first Plateau of the game, The Forest, with deer.
Storm Survivor Survive 3 storm encounters unscathed. |
||
*MISSABLE*
Across each Plateau is a sphere-looking, red-colored storm inside of which the corrupted creature hunts you. To survive a storm encounter unscathed you have to reach your eagle without getting spotted. If the corrupted creature’s eye is on you, stand still. If you get spotted, you will lose experience and potentially eagle’s flaps if you get caught way too many times. This trophy is missable because once you’ve cleansed a Plateau of its curse, the storm won’t be there anymore. Therefore, it is highly recommended to get this trophy out of the way in the first Plateau of the game, The Forest. It is also advised to unlock it in the first Plateau because then you won’t have much eagle’s experience, so, if caught, you won’t lose much. Simply enter a storm, survive it and do the same two more times. |
||
Eagle’s Companion Pet the eagle 4 times. |
||
This only works when your eagle is cursed. Whenever you enter a Plateau’s corrupted area, including a storm, your eagle will get cursed. To lift the curse, you need to pet it. Your first petting chance is during the story after meeting the eagle. The remaining three pets can be unlocked after surviving a storm three times. This trophy should unlock after surviving a storm for the third time.
The Pathfinder’s Tale Find all the lore of the Pathfinder’s story. |
||
Scattered across the Plateaus are blue orbs. These are Lore Collectibles and most of them are found in Lanterns’ or Lightstones’ areas. For this trophy, you don’t need to interact with all Lore Collectibles, but just all those found in 4 specific areas, one for each Plateau. The locations are all marked when pressing . Here is the rough location for the Lore Collectibles required for this trophy:
|
||
Ancient Whispers Discover 15 lore messages. |
||
See trophy Wisdom of the Ancients.
Echoes of the Past Discover 30 lore messages. |
||
See trophy Wisdom of the Ancients.
Wisdom of the Ancients Discover 45 lore messages. |
||
Scattered across the Plateaus are blue orbs. These are Lore Collectibles and most of them are found in Lanterns’ or Lightstones’ areas. They give you insight into the story behind the island’s curse. There are way more than 45 Lore Messages in The Pathless. This trophy will unlock naturally as you play through the story and go for all Lighstones.
Gifts of the Tall Ones Collect the gift from every spirit. |
||
Scattered across the Plateaus are Lighstones. These are marked by strong red lights if you press at any point during the game (best done from higher locations, like obelisks). Lighstones are needed to cleanse the obelisks and access a Spirit’s Gift. While those to cleanse the obelisks are needed to continue the story, the remaining 9 ones to get a Spirit’s Gift are not. However, if you want to receive the gift from each Plateau’s Spirit, you need to find the remaining 9 as well. Once you’ve collected them, return where you’ve fought the boss and place them in the stele. Once you’ve placed them all, the Spirit of that Plateau will appear. Follow it and it will lead you to a hidden location. Once the location gets revealed, interact with the Spirit to receive the gift. The Gift is a skill’s power-up.

||
Scattered across the Plateaus are Lanterns. These are marked by weaker red lights if you press at any point during the game (best done from higher locations, like obelisks). Lanterns are needed to obtain Crystals, which, in turn, are needed to power up your eagle and obtain more flaps. To reveal a Lanterns and get the Crystals, you need to complete a quick and easy puzzle at a given location. To get them all, simply travel to each weaker red light. These are best seen from a high location like obelisks after pressing . There’s way more than 45 Lantern Locations in the game. You will in fact unlock this trophy naturally, probably as you play through the story.

Thank you for this! Having my PS5 for Christmas, and currently plan to have/buy Spiderman: Miles Morales, Spiderman: Remastered, The Pathless and Astro’s playroom so appears all bases are covered!
How did you find this game? I loved Abzu and its the same developers, looks really beautiful.
FranciRoosters says
The game is really solid! I really enjoyed the traversal, combat and the puzzles are so satisfying when you solve them. Majestic job by Wintory, but that was a given!
Charlie says
Hi! It seems That I have arrived at a couple of dead ends on the 2nd level or world. There are some very difficulkt ouzzles I cant seem to solve. Anywhere I can get help for this? Thanks!
Charlie says
The Redwood Steppe, the problem, to be more specific is that at the puzzle where there is a huge statue of the Lizard in brown in the middle, where you have to move mirrors to face each other, one of them has become stuck and wont budge out. Gessing there is a glitch
wdk says
Thanks for the guide, it is just as awesome as this game!
Regarding Forest Whisperer trophy – it is actually very easy, I’ve done it in a 2-3 minutes on Plains location. Actually animal will immediately start to follow you right after you’ve done perfect shot (on half of a bar) while running after it. I’ve tested it on 6 animals, every time animal started to sparcle with gold right after perfect shot.
OTPYG says
Can confirm. This worked for me too. Thanks for this!
Dean says
Thanks for putting this together, really helpful.
I’ve got a problem with the observer trophy. Its the only one left I dont have. I’ve re-visted the observatory and it just won’t pop. Either im doing something wrong or there’s a bug. Livid 🙁
Dean says
Forget that, its sorted itself out after a restart. It might have been the way I travelled to it the first time. Anyway its all good now
Tyler says
There’s a bug that is preventing me from getting the platinum. In the forest plateau one of the things the eagle carries to push a button was dropped as the red fog rolled in and once I cleared the fog I see a gold sparkle come from the ground where it was dropped and it fell into the world. It can’t be picked up to get one of the Elk tokens. I’ve tried quitting the game and it’s still like that. Anyone know how I can reset the world or something without starting over?
Justin says
Did you solve the issue? Have the same issue here… would download the 1.0 version of the game help?
Kevin says
Hi. Is there separate trophies for the PS4 and PS5? In other words, can one platinum this game twice?
FranciRoosters says
Yes
Jace McCarver says
Are you supposed to lose a flap in the first Godslayer encounter?
FranciRoosters says
Yes
timothy dance says
Just like to share that Gift of the tall ones has glitched and not popped for me on PS5
Even though I have collected all spirts got the extra ending trophy too.
Any idea if I am missing something?
When exactly does this trophy pop?
FranciRoosters says
This should pop immediately after obtaining the last Gift. It sounds like you glitched.
timothy dance says
Thanks I did a fresh play through to be sure I kept all my tokens until I had all 9 for each god then handed them in.
On my first playthrough I handed the tokens in bit by bit. Not sure if this is a factor as to why my trophy didn’t pop and gltiched.
Also I did have a strange occurrence where I couldn’t hand my tokens in for the snake god. Going away and coming back to it allowed me to hand them in.
Anyway I have got the platinum and I must say what a superb surprise this was!
PhantomFear94 says
Are there any good puzzle walkthroughs online? I just don’t really understand the puzzles in the game, and I’ve played lots of puzzle games. Pretty overwhelmed. Can’t find much information on this game online. I know what to do, just not how to do it. I’m on Forest PLateau and the game just hasn’t clicked for me yet!
PhantomFear94 says
6 hours in and I’m loving this game to death. Don’t think the introduction does a very good job at getting players to work things out for themselves, either in terms of direction or teasing mechanics, but otherwise outstanding game. You get used to the puzzles, give it some time.
BurgerBroeders says
Missing one last Trophy for platinum “The Pathfinder Tale”.
I followed every guide I could find step by step multiple times and still this trophy doesn’t pop for me.
I think it must have glitched out for me. Anyone else had this problem lately?
Can’t really be bothered to do the whole game again for one trophy 🙁
Charlie says
I’m very near the end now and think I did everything for that Trophy but it hasn’t popped. Just to check I want to revisit the four locations to see if I missed anything, but can’t find my way out of Mountain Tundra. Is there nothing to help you find area entrances?
Midgar777 says
Any idea on how many times you can be spotted before you’ve ruined your chances of getting Sky Master? There is the scripted one obviously… then I think I’ve been caught twice since (mostly because I couldn’t tell what the benefit of making it to your eagle was lol!). Am I okay still or should I start again already?
Charlie says
I got caught a couple of times and still got the Sky Master Trophy. I think you’re allowed more than two so you should be OK.
CasualGamer says
Hi guys,i need help.I can’t find my way back to the previous plateau,i am stuck on mountain tundra.Is there a way to see where the entrance from the previous plateau is?I have tried to highlight everything using the mask but can’t find a way back.
Catdq says
Look for the two eagle statues that are either side of a gap in the mountain. That’s the pathway to the previous area
UnnameD says
For the master of the skies trophy I found a pretty easy way to cheese it if you guys are having trouble, or just don’t want to spend the time sneaking around the bosses.
If you see a storm coming just exit the game. If you go to main menu and continue there will still be a storm going, so if you want it nice and clear you need to do a manual save.
Madhan says
Collect gift from all the tall ones is glichted tropy.
manually save right before getting the last gift.
