Introduction
Welcome to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Trophy Guide (2025 PS5 Remaster)! This new remastered version comes with modernized graphics on PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC. It’s the first time the game receives trophies on PlayStation, as the PS3 version didn’t feature any. The trophies are the same as the original Xbox 360 achievements. The main story can be rushed in 10-15 hours and the trophy-related side content in 20 hours even if you haven’t played the game before. You only need to do the questlines of the Arena, Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, and main story. The Remaster also includes the Shivering Isles DLC which isn’t needed for platinum and is contained in its own DLC list. The questlines can be played in any order you like, they are all available immediately when you reach the open world.
Step 1: Finish the 5 Guild Questlines
At the start of the game you can create your character. You can choose a Race, and throughout the tutorial you can select a Birthsign and Class. What you pick doesn’t impact trophies.
After finishing the Prologue (after exiting the sewers dungeon), you immediately have access to all 5 Guild Questlines. Each of them unlocks multiple trophies. It’s recommended to start with the Arena questline because it’s very fast to do (under 1 hour) and gives over 5,000 gold as well as good starting gear. Then do the other 4 questlines in any order you like. Plan in 20 hours for all questlines. Every objective will be marked on the map when tracking the quest in the journal.
Pit Dog, Arena – Arena Questline
Murderer, Dark Brotherhood – Dark Brotherhood Questline
Pickpocket, Thieves Guild – Thieves Questline
Associate, Mages Guild – Mages Questline
Associate, Fighters Guild – Fighters Questline
Time-Savers:
- Speedrun Class – If playing on Novice difficulty, optimize your character for speedrunning: Race = Khajiit / Birthsign = The Steed / Class = Scout. Wear very light armor, keep your inventory load below weight limit, keep your weapon sheathed. This makes you run significantly faster. On Novice your combat stats don’t matter since you’re pretty much invincible in combat, have autoheal, and everything dies in 1-3 hits. Because you will do a lot of running around towns, the faster movement speed is the biggest time-saver overall. At the end of the prologue you get another chance to respec your character (when exiting sewers). On level-ups invest skill points in Endurance, Agility, Speed.
- Fast Travel – You can fast travel to all towns/districts from the start. No need to walk/ride long distances. Click the green & blue icons on the map to fast travel, but it only works when not inside buildings. The full map is unfogged from the start.
- Map Zoom – If you need to find specific building names you can fully zoom into town districts by holding
, this shows all shops etc. Specific building names will be mentioned in the trophy descriptions.
- Free Horse – Can get free horse in the starting town “Imperial City” > “Chestnut Handy Stables” (use fast travel to blue map icon). Enter the stable house, talk to “Snak gra-Bura”, pick the dialogue that you will take any horse, you’ll get a fully armored horse for free.
- Bug Fixes – Most gameplay bugs are fixed by rebooting the game. For example, quest markers glitch out or you run into invisible walls. If this happens try rebooting the game and exit/re-enter the area. If NPCs don’t spawn try advancing time (press Touchpad) as they move around throughout the day.
Step 2: Finish the Story
After you’re done with all 5 Guild Questlines all you have left for Platinum is the main story. You can speedrun it in around 10-15 hours.
Step 3: Shivering Isles DLC
Clean up the 10 trophies of the Shivering Isles DLC. These aren’t needed for Platinum but are for 100% completion.

![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks after Main Quest: The Path of Dawn.
During the quest you will collect 4 books called “Mythic Dawn Commentaries”. Then bring them to Tar-Meena in the Imperial City Arcane University. Here the quest gets a bit confusing because it lacks waypoints. First you give the books to Tar-Meena, then you must wait at least 24 hours and talk to her again in the “Mystic Archives” building of the Arcane University, where you talked to her before. If she doesn’t appear skip time in 1-hour increments until she’s there (usually at day). She gives you a hint that the first word of each book’s paragraph leads to the location of the Shrine of Dagon, it then gets marked automatically by a map marker after talking to Tar-Meena, leads to Imperial City > Tomb of Prince Camarril. Here the objective is confusing again. You have to interact with the tomb specifically between 11:50AM – 12:30PM. The trophy pops as soon as you interact with it. |

Delivered Daedric Artifact Delivered Daedric Artifact, Main Quest |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks after Main Quest: Blood of the Daedra.
This questline again has some confusing sections. First you go to the ritual in a cave, here you must steal the book on the altar (can kill everyone afterward, if you left your equipment at the door you can loot it from the cultist who led you to the ritual). After escaping with the book and bringing it to Martin, you will get the “Spies” quest. You will have to kill two spies Saveri Faram & Jearl. After killing Jearl (in Bruma > Jearl’s House), loot the body for the basement key. Then inside Jearl’s House use the trap door on the floor, this section is a bit confusing because the waypoint only leads you into the house but doesn’t mark the trap door. In Jearl’s Basement you must loot the scroll “Jearl’s Orders”, then from the Basement enter the door to Bruma Cavern. From here you just need to follow the waypoints again to return to Cloud Ruler Temple, talk to Jauffre and Martin and read the book on Martin’s desk. This triggers the quest “Blood of Daedra” with a waypoint leading to Azura’s Shrine. You must activate the Shrine at Dusk (early morning), around 6AM works. You must use 1 Glow Dust to activate the shrine, which you can loot from the golden-glowing Will-o-the-Wisp found on the path directly in front of the shrine (looks like a golden spark hovering above the ground). Then the shrine talks to you and gives you the Azura quest. Track the quest, you must kill all vampires in Gutted Mine (will all be marked), to reach the last 2 vampires you must activate a movable Rock Wall by pulling a string to the left of it. Afterward go back to Azura’s Shrine to get the Daedric Artifact “Azura’s Star”. Return it to Martin to finish the Blood of the Daedra quest and pop the trophy. Note: there are a total of 15 Daedric Artifacts in the game, bringing Martin any one of them will finish the quest. The “Azura’s Star” is simply what the main questline marks for you and will suffice to advance the main story. |

Destroyed the Great Gate Destroyed the Great Gate, Main Quest |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks after Main Quest: Great Gate.
After the previous trophy, you will first get the Main Quest “Bruma Gate”. Bruma Gate: Follow the waypoint to Captain Burd at the Oblivion Gate. Tell him to follow you and enter the glowing gate. Inside the gate you don’t have waypoints (the waypoint will be on Captain Burd). The layout is the same as the first Oblivion Gate earlier in the story. Always go up until you reach the very top, and have Captain Burd follow you the entire time. In the Rending Halls you have to activate the Blood Fountain (opens a gate), then you can go further upstairs. At the very top you must activate the Sigil Stone to close the gate. The rest of the quest has waypoints (talk to Captain Burd, report back to Cloud Ruler Temple). Then you get two main quests at the same time: Allies for Bruma & Blood of the Divines. Allies for Bruma (OPTIONAL): This quest is optional and can be skipped! (Continue at “Blood of the Divines” if you want to save time). This is one of the longest quests in the game, requires you to fast travel to every town, talk to the marked NPC and close the Oblivion Gates. If you do it, you get some extra soldiers for the “Defense of Bruma” quest. If you skip it, you will have fewer soldiers to help you, but on Novice difficulty it won’t matter. You can save 90-120 minutes by skipping this quest.
Blood of the Divines: Talk to Martin and Jauffre in Cloud Ruler Temple. Then you get a quest marker to Sancre Tor dungeon, north of Chorrol. You must then complete this dungeon, it contains lots of ghosts so be sure to bring silver weapons (silver sword, silver dagger etc) to damage them. Follow the linear path until a ghost talks to you. Then you get waypoints that guide you through the dungeon. Each waypoint leads to one “cursed Blade” skeleton, all 3 are inside this dungeon. Defeat all of them. Afterward the quest marker might bug out – you need to backtrack to the central chamber of the Sancre Tor dungeon called “Sancre Tor, Entry Hall”, it’s a round room with green-lit stones on the side. In this room go downstairs through the gate to “Tor, Tomb of the Remnant Emperors”. This leads to the Shrine of Tiber Septim but the entrance is sealed by a magic wall. You have to wait for Ghost of Valdemar to arrive, if he’s still in a different part of the dungeon you can go to him and walk with him, it will take a couple minutes because he walks very slow. Once Valdemar has arrived, all 4 ghosts will kneel down and the magic wall opens. Then you can walk through to collect the Armor of Tiber Septim. Take it back to Martin at Cloud Ruler Temple. Miscarcand: Martin wants you to find the third item needed for the ritual. You must get it from the Miscarcand dungeon between Kvatch and Skingrad. You are supposed to find the Great Welkynd Stone. Follow the markers through the dungeon until you reach a locked Iron Gate, it requires finding a switch. Follow the path to the right of the gate to find a switch on a wall you can push, then the gate opens. In the next room (Sel Vanua) follow the path forward on the left to the next waypoint, which leads to another locked gate. The switch is in the corridor opposite the locked gate. Now you can enter the next room (Morimath), the waypoint here leads to the Great Welkynd Stone. Return to Martin at Cloud Ruler Temple. Defense of Bruma: This starts when finishing the previous quest. Then you must talk to the Bruma countess about the battle plans. Follow the countess into the Chapel of Talos, talk again to begin the battle. Follow the waypoint to the Oblivion Gate outside Bruma. Wait for your allies to arrive and defend Martin until the Great Gate opens (this takes around 5 minutes real time). Then enter the Great Gate in the middle. This starts the next quest. Great Gate: Unlike previous Oblivion Gates this one is timed, you must finish it within 15 minutes before the great siege engine reaches the exit. The main tower will be straight in front of you. Take the path straight ahead where the siege engine is, while going over the rocks on the side to avoid the lava. If you have sufficient agility you can climb the cliffs straight to the main tower and skip past the War Gates. If not, you must go to the furthest tower on either the left or right and reach the top floor to lift the switch for the War Gate to the main tower. Either way, once you are in the main tower you just need to reach the very top and use the Sigil Stone. Then you automatically get a loading screen and this trophy unlocks! To finish the quest talk to Martin. |

Champion of Cyrodiil Completed the Main Questline |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks after finishing the main story.
After the previous trophy you only have 3 quests left “Paradise”, “Light the Dragonfires”, “Imperial Dragon Armor”. Paradise: Follow Martin to Cloud Ruler Temple. It’s a slow walk, takes around 10 minutes (it’s best to avoid talking to Martin because it can make him glitch and then he goes in the wrong direction). After he goes back inside the temple and puts on a mage’s robe you can talk to him. He will perform the ritual and you can enter the portal to Paradise. You must find Mankar Camoran, kill him and recover the Amulet of Kings. Follow the paved path all the way to the end. An NPC Kathutet will talk to you, quickest method is to pick the dialogue “I choose battle”, then kill him and loot the Bands of the Chosen from his body. Then enter the door to the Flooded Grotto right behind where you met Kathutet (should be marked now). Inside just follow the waypoint to the Forbidden Grotto Door. It will say there are no apparent means to open it. You must equip the “Bands of the Chosen” from your inventory in the armor section. Then you can enter the Forbidden Grotto. An NPC “Eldamil” will talk to you, he offers his help, don’t kill him. You need him to take off your Bands of the Chosen to leave the final Grotto door back to Paradise. You can’t unequip them yourself while in the Grotto. Eldamil will either disguise you as a prisoner to get past a gate, or you can kill the guard Orthe and loot his key to advance. In next cave section Eldamil talks to you again and takes off your Bands (doesn’t matter if you accept or deny his help here, the bands get taken off either way). Then you can exit the Grotto to Paradise. Follow the path uphill until you reach Ruma Camoran (NPC in red robe), follow him into Carac Agaialor. Inside talk to Mankar Camoran, then everyone turns hostile. Kill and loot Mankar Camoran for Amulet of Kings. Head towards the exit and you’ll be teleported back to your world. Give Martin the Amulet to start the next quest. Light the Dragonfires: Fast travel to Imperial City, enter the Elder Council Chambers. Wait a minute for Martin to walk in, then talk to High Chancellor Ocato. Defend from the attackers and escort Martin to Temple District. There, you encounter a giant boss monster called “Mehrunes Dagon”. Have Martin follow you and enter Temple of the One, next to the big boss monster. Talk to Martin inside, then he will transform and defeats the enemies automatically. The trophy unlocks during the cutscene after the boss fight. |

Murderer, Dark Brotherhood Joined the Dark Brotherhood |
![]() |
To join the Dark Brotherhood you must kill one non-hostile NPC, then sleep in a bed. When you kill a non-hostile NPC for the first time it will say in the top left corner “your killing has been observed by forces unknown”. You can rent beds at hotels, for example in Imperial City > Talos Plaza District > The Tiber Septim Hotel (costs 40 Gold, can do Arena questline for quick money).
After sleeping for at least 1 hour, Lucien Lachance will appear. Regardless of what dialogues you pick he gives you the quest “A Knife in the Dark”. He wants you to kill a man named Rufio at the Inn of Ill Omen. Track the quest from the Journal and it will get a waypoint marker on the map. Upon entering the Inn of Ill Omen turn left and interact with the trap door on the floor to go downstairs, then enter the last room on the left to find Rufio. Kill him and sleep to trigger another talk with Lucien Lachance (you can rent a bed or sleep in Rufio’s bed). The trophy unlocks immediately after this talk with Lucien. The next questmarker will automatically appear on the map in Cheydinhal, see the next trophy. |

Slayer, Dark Brotherhood Reached Slayer rank in the Dark Brotherhood |
![]() |
See the above trophy ![]() Afterward continue to track the quest “A Knife in the Dark” via the journal. Go to the quest marker in Cheydinhal (town in north-east corner of map). You can fast travel there by clicking the green city district icon on the map, even if you haven’t been there before. At the quest marker interact with the “Boarded Up Door to Abandoned House”, lockpick the door and enter (requires lockpicks, click Talk to Ocheeva inside, then go downstairs to talk to Vicente Valtieri, ask him about the “Contract” and accept it. He wants you to kill a pirate on a ship. This gives the next quest “A Watery Grave”. The rest of the Dark Brotherhood’s quests are all about assassinating NPCs. Just keep tracking their quests, the waypoints are marked for everything, you can fast travel everywhere. Completing the bonus requirements isn’t needed for anything, so feel free to kill all targets however you see fit. After each quest return to Vicente at Chedinhal – East Gate through the Abandoned Building to accept the next contract. To reach Slayer Rank you must finish his 2 quests:
After completing both quests and returning to Vicente Valtieri this trophy unlocks. |

After the previous trophy, you get the quest “Of Secret and Shadow” that requires talking to Ocheeva again. She gives you a letter from Lucien Lechance who recruited you. Go to Inventory > Miscellaneous > Orders From Lucien Lachance. This marks the next objective at Fort Farragut, slightly northeast of Cheydinhal.
Once you arrive, there is a shortcut in the hollow tree north-west of the tower ruins. This leads straight to Lucien so you don’t need to lockpick doors along the way. He tells you traitors infiltrated the order and you must kill everyone inside the Brotherhood’s hideout, he calls this the “Purification”. Go back to the hideout, and kill everyone inside it by any means necessary. Loot the bodies for keys and valuables. Some members might be roaming outside elsewhere and will be marked (e.g. Telaendril may get marked in Leyawiin). Afterward return to Lucien in Fort Farragut. Trophy unlocks when talking to him. From now on you will get contracts through dead drop locations. |

Pit Dog, Arena Joined the Arena in the Imperial City |
![]() |
You can join the Arena immediately after reaching the open world (after exiting the sewers in the prologue). It’s in the Imperial City where you arrive after exiting the sewers, in the middle of the map.
Go to Imperial City > Imperial City Arena. You can enter this district through the “Green Emperor Way” in the middle of Imperial City. At the arena entrance you find an NPC called “Hundolin”, to the left of him go downstairs and enter the wooden door to “Arena Bloodworks”. There you find a bunch of NPCs training. Talk to the NPC called “Owyn” standing in the corner and select the dialogue “I want to be a combatant” to pop this trophy. Afterward you can go through the Arena questline which consists of winning several fights. Arena fights only start at daytime. At night there are no fights going on. You can advance time by pressing Touchpad if necessary. You can pick up a sword “Iron Claymore” and Armor “Light/Heavy Arena Raiment” next to Owyn. Make sure you equip these from the inventory, otherwise he won’t let you engage in fights. Then talk to Owyn, select the dialogue “Ready for a Match”. Now the gate in the Arena Bloodworks opens and you can enter the fight pit. Defeat the opponent, return to Owyn, rinse and repeat. You increase in rank and earn a trophy every 3 fights. If you put the difficulty on “Novice” it will be extremely easy as you take practically no damage and enemies die in just 1-2 heavy attacks. To adjust the difficulty press Options-Button > Settings > Gameplay > Difficulty level = Novice. |

He’s called “Agronak gro-Malog” (The Gray Prince), he’s the Grand Champion. Pick the dialogue “Yes, I wish to challenge you”.
Then talk to the woman Ysabel Andronicus who sits opposite of Owyn. Pick the dialogue “Ready for a Match”. Enter the arena and defeat the Gray Prince. Unlike other arena fights, you can loot his equipment afterward. This gives you pretty good gear early in the game. Return to Ysabel and select your reward (Light or Heavy Raiment of Valor). The trophy unlocks after that and the Arena questline is done. |

Pickpocket, Thieves Guild Joined the Thieves Guild |
![]() |
There are multiple ways to join the Thieves Guild but here is the easiest: First, you must get arrested and serve a jail sentence for stealing, then the Thieves Guild will automatically approach you. Simply steal items or pickpocket someone. Let a guard catch you and agree to go to jail (don’t resist arrest). You will spawn in the jail cell, interact with the bed on the floor to serve out your sentence.
After you’re out of jail, walk around town for a while. After a while, A blue-colored woman called “Myvryna Arano” will automatically approach you and gives you a note. In the top left corner it will say “1 Mysterious Note added to the player’s inventory” and you get the quest “Finding the Thieves Guild”. In the journal hover over this quest and press He gives the quest “May the Best Thief Win”. Track it from the journal to see waypoints on the map. The first waypoint leads to a beggar “Puny Ancus” who sleeps right there where you accept the quest. Talk to him about “Amantius Allectus” > “Here’s five coins” > unlocks the next waypoint in Temple District. Fast travel to Temple District and enter Amantius Allectus’ house (easy lock). If you haven’t lockpicked before, you must press |

Footpad, Thieves Guild Reached Footpad rank in the Thieves Guild |
![]() |
After being initiated into the Thieves Guild, talk to the previous quest giver Armand Christophe and pick “Thieves Guild Jobs” and “Thieves Guild special jobs”. He will explain that you must first fence 50 gold worth of items to Ongar before you get the next quest. This will start a new quest “Independent Thievery”. Track it from the journal, it adds a waypoint in Bruma > Bruma East Gate > Olav’s Tap and Tack.
Now steal any items and sell them to Ongar, pick the “Bartering” option below his dialogues. You have to sell stolen items specifically for it to count. After fencing a total of 50 gold worth of items, you can now start the next quest. Untaxing the Poor – After fencing a total of 50 gold worth of items, return to Armand and talk to him about “Thieves Guild special jobs” > “Sure. I’ll do it”. You’ll need to steal back the Waterfront Tax Records. Go to Imperial City > Imperial City Temple District > Wooden Door to South Watch Tower, then wait until 12PM so that most of the guards are gone. Go up the ladder to the Southeast Watch Barracks twice. You’ll then need to lockpick an Easy lock to get to the Captain’s Quarters. Once inside, you’ll then need to lockpick the desk on your right, which has an Average lock. The barracks is also a great spot to steal some armor which you can then fence to unlock the future quests. After stealing what you need, return to Armand. Completing this quest will promote you to Footpad, unlocking the trophy. |

Bandit, Thieves Guild Reached Bandit rank in the Thieves Guild |
![]() |
After reaching the rank of Footpad, you’ll then need to fence another 50 gold, bringing your total up to 100 in order to unlock the next quest.
The Elven Maiden – After fencing a total of 100 gold worth of items, return to Armand and talk to him about “Thieves Guild special jobs” > “I’ll take it”. You’ll have to steal a bust of Llathasa Indarys. Go to Cheydinhal > Cheydinhal – West Gate. Talk to either Luckless Lucina or Bruccius the Orphan. Ask either of them about “Bust of Llathasa Indarys > Hmmm. 15 coins seems right”. Afterward, follow your objective through the door to “The Great Chapel of Arkay”. Go down the stairs and lockpick the door to “Chapel Undercroft” (average lock). Once inside, try to sneak past the guard who will be roaming the area. Killing the guard will make it so you have to pay a blood fee. Head towards your objective and pick up the bust near the tomb. You can also loot the tomb itself as well, just be warned the spirit of Llathasa will spawn afterward, which will make the guard come running so you’ll need to run away. After stealing the bust, return to the Imperial City Waterfront to find it overrun with Imperial Watch and Armand gone. Go to sleep at the bed where you found Puny Ancus earlier. Once you wake up, Methredhel will wake you up. Talk to her about “Where is Armand Christophe? > What do I do with the bust? > So who is the informant? > How?”. You’ll then need to go to Myvryna Arano’s House, which should be right next to you. Wait until around midnight, then lockpick her door, which is an average lock. Once inside, interact with the cupboard to the right of the bed to plant the bust. Go back outside and talk to Hieronymus Lex. Go down to the persuading tab and either bribe him or do the persuading minigame until you reach 70 points and then talk to him about “Bust of Llathasa Indarys > Myvryna Arano has it. > It’s in her cupboard”. Afterwards, follow him and watch the chaos unfold. With all that done, you can now return to Armand at midnight. Completing the quest will promote you to Bandit, unlocking the trophy. |

Prowler, Thieves Guild Reached Prowler rank in the Thieves Guild |
![]() |
After reaching the rank of Bandit you’ll unlock a new fence, Dar Jee in Leyawiin. Unlike Ongar, he likes to roam around the city so it might be a bit harder to pin him down. Tracking the Independent Thievery quest will mark him on your compass however. You’ll need to fence another 100 gold, bringing your total up to 200 in order to start the next quest.
Ahdarji’s Heirloom – After fencing a total of 200 gold, talk to Armand about “Thieves Guild special jobs” and he’ll refer you to a new handler in Bravil > Door to the Lonely Suitor Lodge. Once inside, talk to S’Krivva and talk to her about “Thieves Guild special jobs > I’ll help out this poor widow. Go to Leyawiin and talk to Rancid Ra’dirsha about “Ahdarji > No more than five coins”. Afterwards, follow your quest marker and talk to Ahdarji about “Ahdarji’s stolen ring. > The guild frowns on killing”. Then talk to either Rancid Ra’dirsha again or Deeh the Scalawag about “Amusei > I can spare 10 gold coins”. Follow your objective to the Castle Leyawiin County Hall > Castle Leyawiin Dungeon. Once inside, talk to the Leyawiin Jailor about “Amusei > Not even for 20 gold coins?” and he’ll unlock the door, letting you go see Amusei. Once inside, talk to Amusei about “Ahdarji’s rIng > What if I give you a lockpick? > Here, take this lockpick”. Head back outside and talk to either Rancid Ra’dirasha or Deeh the Scalawag again about “Recovered Caro family ring. > I can spare 10 gold coins. > What secrets?”. Wait until 8PM and follow your objective to talk to Hildara Mothril. Go down to the persuading tab and either bribe her or do the persuading minigame until you reach 70 points and then talk to her about “Recovered Caro family right and Dark secrets in castle Leyawiin”. After he unlocks the door, go inside and talk to Larthjar the Laggard about “Yes, I’ll rescue you > Theranis > The Pale Lady > Where does she take them?”. After the conversation, go to the end of the hall and interact with the strange candle to open a secret doorway and end the Castle Skingrad Wine Cellar. Interact with the handle to get out of the secret passage. Go down the stairs to where all the wine is stored, which is a great place to steal items to fence to unlock more quests later. Afterwards, go to the large wine barrel on the right side of the room and interact with the strange candle to open another secret door on the center barrel. Go inside and kill the Pale Lady, as there is no blood fee for killing her. You can then interact with Theranis’ corpse and talk to Amusei about “Lost Histories of Tamerial”. You’ll then need to try and sneak out of the castle. Follow your objective through the dining hall, being careful not to get caught. If you do get caught, resist arrest and make a break for it. DO NOT kill anyone when trying to escape, or else you’ll need to pay the blood fee later. Once you’re outside and away from the guards, wait 1 hour and Amusei should start talking to you. Ask him about “Lost Histories of Tamriel”. If you ended up getting a bounty, you’ll first want to pay it off at either Armand or S’Krivva before continuing. The book, yes”. After completing Lost Histories, you’ll then need to fence another 100 gold, bringing your total up to 500 in order to start the next quest. Taking Care of Lex – After fencing a total of 500 gold, talk to S’Krivva about “Thieves Guild special jobs” > “What is the plan? > Where is the letter? > Why not just kill Lex? > How do I forge the letter? > It shall be done”. Go to Anvil and talk to either of the marker NPCs and ask them about “Dairihill’s Office”. Go to Anvil Castle > Anvil Castle Dining Hall and talk to Orrin. Follow him to a secret passage. Wait until 12PM and then lockpick the Easy door at the end to enter the Private Quarters. Sneak into the hallway and lockpick the Average door on the left. Once inside, lockpick Dairihill’s Desk, which is an Easy lock and take the List of Candidates. Afterwards, head back outside into Anvil and talk to either of the marked NPCs and ask them about “Master forger > Here’s 15 gold coins”. Wait until 8PM and then follow your objective to the Stranger and ask him about “Forge this letter”. Afterwards, make sure you have 500 gold then go outside and wait 24 hours. Talk to the Stranger again and ask him about “Forged Letter > Here is your fee”. Go to the Imperial City Prison and wait until 12PM, then lockpick the very hard Imperial Legion Offices door. Once inside, use the Imperial Legion Seal on the desk. Return to Anvil Castle and wait until 12PM. Talk to Countess Millona Umbranox and ask her about “New Guard Captain”. Go to the Imperial City and talk to Hieronymus Lex about “New Guard Captain”. With that done, return to S’Krivva in Bravil and ask her about “Hieronymus Lex reassigned”. Completing the quest will promote you to Shadowfoot. |

Turning a Blind Eye – After fencing a total of 600 gold, wait around outside until Methredhel contacts you and ask her about “What is the message?” (can skip time in 24 hour increments until she spawns and talks to you). Go to Bruma > Helvius Cecia’s House and talk to the Gray Fox about “It is an honor to finally meet you. > I would be honored to help”. Go to the Temple of the Ancestor Moths in the top right corner of the map. Once you’re there, enter the Monk’s Quarters and talk to Brother Holger. Go down to the persuading tab and either bribe him or do the persuading minigame until you reach 80 points and then talk to him about “Savilla’s Stone > Where are the catacombs?”. Follow him and enter “The Temple of the Moth Halls”. Once inside, you’re free to kill any of the blind monks inside that attack you on your way to the objective. Once you reach the end of the area, pick up Savilla’s Stone off the altar. After leaving the area, go back to Bruma and talk to the Gray Fox about “Savilla’s Stone > Here is the Stone”. After completing Turning a Blind Eye, you’ll then need to fence another 100 gold, bringing your total up to 700 in order to start the next quest. Arrow of Extrication – After fencing a total of 700 gold, wait around in Imperial City (while outside buildings) until Amusei contacts you. Skip time in 24-hour increments until he talks to you. Feel free to kill any enemies you encounter in this area. Once you reach the area with the water, you’ll find a spot where it goes deeper and you can go under the water. Go underwater and hug the wall on the left, just under the first rock you have to go around (don’t swim all the way down), there will be a passageway for you to go through. Continue following the path and you’ll eventually reach Bravil Wizard’s Lair, which you’ll need to lockpick a Hard lock to enter. Keep following the objective, feel free to kill anyone on your way until you reach another hard lockpick door leading to Fathis Aren’s Tower. Once inside, feel free to kill anyone and go up the stairs into Fathis Aren’s laboratory and open the chest. Take the Key-Shaped Arrowhead inside. Go back to Chorrol and talk to the Gray Fox about “Arrow of Extrication > I only have the arrow’s head”. Completing the quest will also promote you to Master Thief, unlocking the trophy. |

Guildmaster, Thieves Guild Completed the Thieves Guild Questline |
![]() |
MISSABLE WARNING: During “The Ultimate Heist” you have to successfully steal the Elder Scroll from the Blind Monks. If you fail, the questline won’t complete. Keep regular Manual Saves throughout the final quest, then nothing can go wrong.
After reaching the rank of Master Thief you’ll unlock a new fence, Fathis Ules in the Imperial City. He roams around a bit, so if you need help finding him you can track the Independent Thievery quest to mark him on your compass. You’ll need to fence another 100 gold, bringing your total up to 800 in order to start the next quest. Boots of the Springheel Jak – After fencing a total of 800 gold, wait around in Imperial City (outside buildings) until Amusei contacts you (skip time in 24-hour increments until he spawns). Ask him about “What is the message?”. Go to Cheydinhal > Ganredhel’s House and talk to the Gray Fox about “I am eager to hear your plan. > I am ready”. Go to the Imperial City and talk to any of marked NPCs about “Finding Jakben, Earl of Imbel. > Here. 10 gold coins, on me”. Follow your objective to Jakben Imbel’s house. Wait until 12AM and then lockpick the Hard door to enter. Go upstairs to Jakben Imbel’s Private Quarters and go through the trapdoor up the stairs with the same name, but is locked with an Average lock. Once inside, lockpick the Average locked desk and take the Imbel Geneology to find out it’s not useful at all. Jakben will eventually come home and when he does, talk to him about “Springhell Jak’s Tomb > Just answer my question!”. He’ll then give you the Imbel Family Crypt Key. Go into Jakben Imbel’s Basement and use the key on the locked door leading to the Catacombs. Once inside, you’re free to kill whatever you find without paying the blood fee. After going through the last door and looting Springheel Jak’s Coffin, take the Diary of Springheel Jak, which will tell you that Jakben has the boots. Jakben will also conveniently come down to attempt to kill you after looting the coffin, so you can kill him without punishment and take the Boots of Springheel Jak off his corpse. With the boots in hand, return to Cheydinhal and talk to the Gray Fox about “Boots of Springheel Jak > Here are the boots”. After completing Boots of the Springheel Jak, you’ll then need to fence another 200 gold, bringing your total up to 1000 in order to start the next quest. The Ultimate Heist – After fencing a total of 1000 gold, wait around outside in Imperial City until Amusei contacts you (can skip time in 24-hour increments until he automatically talks to you). Ask him about “What is the message?”. Go to Imperial City Elven Gardens District > Othrelos’ House and talk to the Gray Fox about “The last heist? > How much is the buyer paying? > Glorious! When do we start? > What is the plan? > Where is the actual entrance? > What is this “Old Way?” > Is that all you know? > How did you manage that? > I can’t remember all of this!”. With all that done, equip the Boots of Springheel Jak and go to the Imperial City Palace > Elder Council Chambers > Palace Basement. Sneak to the other side of the room and activate the Glass of Time, being careful not to get caught. If you do get caught however, the blood fee has been waived for this entire quest, so feel free to kill anyone who gets in your way. Once you’re done, go to Imperial City Arboretum > Grate to The South East Tunnel > Beneath the Bloodworks. From this point, you’ll want to follow your objective through several different areas until you reach The Lost Catacombs. From this point on, you’ll encounter some Ghost enemies that will drop ectoplasm when killed. You’ll want to keep 5 of these for Drunk and Disorderly Fighters Guild Quest if you haven’t completed that already. Keep following the path there and you’ll eventually come across a large open room. With the Boots of Springheel Jak equipped, look to your left and jump up the broken staircase and activate the blocks on both sides of the balcony to open the iron gate. Go past where the iron gate was and go through the door to the Hall of Epochs. Once in the room, go up to the right balcony and lockpick the hard locked gate. Press the block on the left and then continue following the opened area to go through to the Hall of Epochs again. At the end of this area, you’ll find another block to push. After pushing it, return to the main hall to find the walls moved. For this next step you need to have a bow. If you do not have a bow, a skeleton should have spawned with the enemies that were behind the lowered walls that was holding a bow. With a bow in hand, go into the center platform and stand on the pressure plate. You’ll need to aim the Arrow of Extrication as the center of the statue’s chest that rotates towards you. It’s recommended to make a manual save here in case you miss and cannot find the arrow again afterwards. Once you land the arrow, go through to the newly opened door to the Imperial Guard Quarters. Make sure to be stealthy here so you don’t alert the numerous guards in the area. Then go up to the Elder Scrolls Library. Quietly follow the next guard until you reach the next Elder Scrolls Library door and lockpick the Average lock to get inside. Once in the room, you can freely move around again but do not talk to anyone or you’ll be caught. Activate the switch near the Blind Monk, then enter the room. Sit down in the reading chair and they’ll bring the Elder Scroll straight to you. It’s important you obtain the Elder Scroll here! If you were caught by the monks and leave without the Scroll, the quest won’t complete and you don’t get the trophy (DON’T kill/talk to the monks and DON’T run upstairs until they gave you the Elder Scroll). Take the Elder Scroll, then sneak upstairs very carefully as they may be blind, but their hearing is really good. Lockpick the Hard door leading to the Elder Scrolls Library upstairs. Try to sneak past the guards, but if you can’t, make a break for the objective to keep going up until you get to the top floor. Enter the first door on your left and go through the grate back into the Old Way. From here you’ll be backtracking through the sewers from earlier. Follow your objective until you’ve exited back outside and were caught by the guards earlier, all the guards will start chasing you. You’ll want to either get arrested (you won’t lose the Elder Scroll, but you’ll lose some skill levels and anything else you’ve stolen), or escape and pay off your bounty. Armand is the easiest to get to as you can swim to the waterfront from safety to quickly pay it off. Once that’s done, return to the Gray Fox and talk to him about “So what happens now?”. Go to Anvil Castle and talk to Millona Umbranox about “The Stranger’s Ring > Take it. It’s a gift from a stranger > What is different?”. After the conversation, you’ll unlock the trophy. The quest still goes on however, so if you want to finish it, equip the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal and go to Imperial City Waterfront > Dareloth’s Basement. Entering the building will complete the quest, finishing off the Thieves Guild. |

The sixth rank increase comes after completing the next 1 quest for the Fighters Guild.
Azani Blackheart – upon finishing the previous quest “More Unfinished Business”, you will automatically get this new quest while talking to Modryn in Chorrol Fighters Guild. Keep talking to him about “Duties” to get the next quest marker. Skip time to midnight (press Touchpad) until Modryn moves to his house in the south-west of Chorrol. Talk to him in his house, exhaust all dialogues, tell him “I’m in”. Now fast travel to Leyawiin Fighters Guild, talk to Modryn there. Then you must enter Arpenia north-east of Leyawiin, it’s a dungeon and will be marked. Make sure when you enter that Modryn spawns there too, if not exit the area and re-enter or fast travel back and forth until Modryn spawns there. Now the quest marker disappears again. You must enter the second room of the dungeon where you find a lootable container “Ayleid Cask” and an elevator trap with spikes on the ceiling. Step onto the elevator trap, there’s some blood on the floor. After using the trap, talk to Modryn again, he should now have a new dialogue “Azani Blackheart”, he will reply there was no fight here and the objective marker gets updated. You must now stay close to Modryn and follow him on foot to Atatar (takes around 5 minutes). Exit the Arpenia dungeon together with Modryn. Make sure Modryn follows you outside, walk slowly with him and make sure he’s right behind you when you exit. When you spawn outside, the green quest marker will be placed on Modryn. Keep walking with him and clear out enemies along the way. When you arrive at Atatar enter the door in the tower ruins. Go through the dungeon and kill the bandits along the way. When you come to a room with locked iron gates that say “This gate is opened remotely”, you must enter a cell in the south-west corner and push a block on the wall, Modryn should head in that direction automatically. Then go through another door with a loading screen to the third dungeon section “Atatar Haelia Anga”. There you encounter more locked gates, you must drop down to the lower floor and go through the open gate in the south-west, follow the path to reach a room with many bandits. Then go through the door to the fourth section “Atatar Loria”. There you find Azani Blackheart, kill him, loot his corpse for “Blackheart’s Ring”. Talk to Modryn afterward about “Azani Blackheart” > “Blackheart’s Ring”. Quest done. Azani also drops a very powerful sword and good armor. Talk to Modryn once more about “Advancement” to get the trophy. If you get lost on the way back out, you can track another quest or put a custom map marker on any town and the compass at the top of the screen will guide you from one door to the next. |

DLC: The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Remastered
Step 1: How to Start the Shivering Isles DLC
The Shivering Isles DLC can be started immediately after the prologue when entering the open world for the first time (after exiting the sewers dungeon). No other game progress is needed. You must go to the middle of the big lake “Nidon Bay” at the town “Bravil”. There you find an unmarked island with a purple portal on it:
Approach the portal, you will get a new quest “A Door in Niben Bay”. A guy called Belmyne Dreleth comes out of the portal and starts attacking a guard. After the fight, talk to the guard, exhaust all dialogues. Then interact with the purple portal. The portal will “talk” to you. In the top left it will say “This door will not yet open to you” but this is a false warning to confuse the player. Just keep interacting with the portal repeatedly, after about half a minute you can enter!
Once inside, sit in the chair and talk to Haskill. Exhaust the dialogues with him. He will eventually end the dialogue. You can immediately talk to him again, say “I’ll do it”. Then you are teleported to the DLC area and the first trophy unlocks. You can return to the main game map anytime by going through the purple portal again.
Step 2: Play through the Shivering Isles DLC & Get 2 Missable Trophies
Track the new quests that appear when entering the DLC area and follow the questline (starting with “Through the Fringe of Madness”. Everything will be marked when tracking the quests, just like in the main game.
Only thing to watch out for are the two trophies that cancel out each other: “Duke Dementia, Shivering Isles” &
“Duke Mania, Shivering Isles”. Picking one will lock you out of the other. But there’s an easy workaround: make a save after Main Quest: The Cold Flame of Agnon. This is just before choosing sides for the trophies. After getting one trophy, reload the save and do the other one.

Tourist, Shivering Isles Entered the Shivering Isles |

See Step 1 in the DLC Roadmap above. This trophy unlocks as soon as you enter the DLC area for the first time, after talking to Haskill. | ||

Aspirant, Shivering Isles Reached Aspirant Rank in the Court of Madness |
![]() |
Automatic DLC story trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks after Main Quest: Through the Fringe of Madness.
After entering the DLC area, follow the quest markers until you reach a group of people fighting a large creature called “Gatekeeper”. If you attack, it will regenerate health. Once all the soldiers die it will attack you. You will get a pop-up advising you to speak to some people about how to kill the Gatekeeper, however if you are playing on Novice difficulty you can easily kill it, loot its body for the keys and talk to Haskill who will explain the difference between the Mania and Dementia doors ahead. Neither door bears any significant difference when it comes to the story or trophies, proceed through either door. After proceeding through a door, follow the next quest marker leading to the city of “Bliss”. After you talk to Sheogorath the trophy will unlock. |

This trophy is awarded by completing the next quest “The Cold Flame of Agnon”. It’s very important to make a save right after completing this quest, as you are then presented with a choice that leads to two different trophies that are both missable as a result!

Duke Dementia, Shivering Isles Reached Duke of Dementia Rank in the Court of Madness |

This is the important choice for the 2 missable trophies, you will be approached by Dervenin and Arctus, each representing Mania and Dementia respectively, make a save and choose one, then reload and choose the other after you get the respective trophy. To start the process, speak to Sheogorath to start the “Ritual of Accession” quest.

Awesome, thank you!!
Nikki_boagreis says
2/10 on novice difficulty and nothing is missable, that’s a relief i can just enjoy the game without worrying about missing stuff.
Omairi says
No missables is awesome, but honestly i personally prefer a difficulty setting trophy.
Thanks as always.

Great Guide !
Are you writing a Guide for Clair Obscure?
PowerPyx says
I’m currently working on Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and the upcoming May releases. One of my teammates is currently looking into Clair Obscur. It’s too early to tell if, or when, a guide for it is doable but we’ll try to have a guide for it if time permits.
I’m not putting it on the “upcoming guides” list until I’m 90%+ sure that the guide will be finished, that’s why you don’t see it officially listed (yet). But yes there’s a chance we’ll have a guide down the line.
Spoonz says
Alright. Thanks for the answer
Game45001 says
For the Thieves Guild Questline, all I see is black, unless it’s because I’m on phone viewing this or it’s just a bug, happens during the Footpad rank
PowerPyx says
We had a little technical server problem that briefly resulted in the guide not fully rendering. It should be fixed now, but please let me know if you still get the issue (you may need to refresh the page).
MidnightDragonDX says
You can also get a free horse in the main quest by completing Deliver the Amulet and talking to one of the monks downstairs. It’s a better horse than the free horse offered by the Horse Armor.
Tyler says
I think the thieves guild final trophy is technically missable, I got caught before getting the elder scroll and didn’t realise it would matter so ran through the building killing everyone and then went back to try get it and realised there’s no way to get it at that point. All auto saves were after that point and I hadn’t manual saved in 5 hours ????
Konatoast says
Yeah buy invis potion and dupe it then keep it active and crouch if you get spotted it also bugs the monks and you cant get the scroll. I had to redo the quest line because it didn’t say that. Use stealth
HarryFonda says
Arena trophy is kinda buggy, I can’t proceed this questline because I can’t start matches. The guy tells me I don’t have a rainment equiped, but it is equiped.
PowerPyx says
I’ve not had the issue personally, but you can try switching between the heavy and light arena raiment. Rebooting game also fixes weird bugs. Or reload autosave before entering the arena for the first time.
Moonmanxs says
Technically the Arena trophies can be missable as if your disqualified twice you are locked out of the arena
Konatoast says
Always save regularly being softlocks are common, like Modryn got stuck at Atatar and he couldn’t go back to the guild. The lizard dude i had to tp to him speak then go into Modryn house then speak to Ajum-Kajin and he killed himself. Game filled with bugs, classic oblivion
Leon says
There is a bug in Confront the King quest for the Mages Guild questline. Mannimarco won’t talk to me and I loaded an earlier save. Quite disappointing since I didn’t run into any similar bugs earlier in my playthrough. Will need to wait for bethesda to fix it
Nathan says
Can I play the main story first and then come back to those questlines? Nothing is missable if I do so??
Shrympsta says
After one of the fighters guild quests, you get demoted two ranks and the champion trophy does not pop, any thing I can do or do I need to make a new character?
Shrympsta says
Nvm, I had an invisible quest marker to go talk to burz I feel dumb now! Thank you for the wonderful guide.
Kasper says
You should add that “Allies for Bruma” is optional. If you don’t do it, “Defense of Bruma” is just a little bit harder, but on lower difficulties still a breeze. It saves a lot of time not having to close all those Oblivion gates, not to mention how tedious it is.
OTPYG says
Your Duke of Mania trophy has the description for Duke of Dementia listed under it, and vice versa.
PowerPyx says
Good spotting, thanks. Fixed!
