The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR has 12 Gargoyle Locations. Destroying all Gargoyles unlocks The Destroyer of Gargoyles trophy.
There is 1 Gargoyle Collectible per level, as well as 2 found at the beginning of the credits. Gargoyles are large statues with yellow targets like the bonus point items that appear throughout the game. As the game is an on-rails shooter, you will need to shoot these relatively quickly when you reach them, as you will automatically move past them and miss your chance for that playthrough.
Once you destroy a Gargoyle, it counts across all playthroughs and remains destroyed, even if you start a new playthrough. All levels will have various split tracks where you can go left or right, however the Gargoyles will never be found on one of these split paths, so it does not matter which path you take.
Level 1: Welcome to Inferno

On the left at the second tutorial where you are taught about marked targets.
Level 2: Maiden Voyage

Near the end of the level after fighting through a room with a bunch of floating bodies, look to your left as you go outside to spot this gargoyle.
Level 3: Into the Ship’s Heart

Near the end of the level, after the second fight with the female demon, there will be a slow ascent up through a hole in a wall. Immediately look right to spot this gargoyle in the back of the room.
Level 4: Abandon All Hope

Halfway through the level you will go across a bridge. Along the bridge there will be openings on the left and right that you can look out. The gargoyle will be visible from the second opening on the right.
Level 5: Burning Trials

Towards the end of the level you will go through a gate and head towards a church. Behind the fence on the left will be this gargoyle.
Level 6: Ancient Temple

Found inside the main hall that you will go through 3 times, sitting upstairs next to the pillar. The first time you enter the room, it will be visible above you as you turn right to leave. The second time it will be behind you after you go through the arch. The third time will be after you ascend and re-enter the room at the same level as the gargoyle, where it will be visible across the gap on your right.
Level 7: Into the Abyss

After being introduced to the crawling slugs that jump at you, there will be a split in the path. Take either path, and once both paths converge you will go down a hill into a cave. Before you go into the cave, you will be able to spot the gargoyle up above and to the left on a structure.
Level 8: Enjoy your Stay

After being introduced to the scythe traps, you will enter a room where you will circle around the outside. You will pass a robot on a piano. Look behind the bookshelves that you will pass on your right to find this gargoyle.
Level 9: Panopticon

After working your way through the first building, you will appear outside and go through a gate. After passing the outside wall, look into the forest on the right to spot this gargoyle.
Level 10: Frozen Hell

After going through the first two sections (which will be opposite routes to what you took in Levels 2 and 4), you will appear in an ice cave with a track above you going perpendicular. Before reaching the track, look up and to the left to spot this gargoyle.
