The Callisto Protocol Trophy Roadmap
- Estimated trophy difficulty:
- 3/10 using Maximum Security Exploit (start game on Max Security > switch it to Easy in game options > play through it on Easy > after final boss make manual save, change it back to Max Security to pop the trophy, if it doesn’t work on first try reboot game, click continue, change to max sec again and rewatch final cutscene) – no longer works as of Patch 1.07
- 5/10 doing it legit if doing an Easy playthrough first to learn enemy placements and Maximum Security in 2nd playthrough
- 6/10 doing it legit, starting on Maximum Security difficulty and doing everything in 1 Playthrough
- Approximate amount of time to platinum:
- 10-15 Hours doing everything in 1 Playthrough
- 15-20 Hours doing 2 Playthroughs (8-12h Easy with Collectibles + 7-10h Maximum Security)
- Offline Trophies: 27 (1
, 7
, 9
, 10
)
- Online Trophies: 0
- Number of missable trophies: All of them except automatic story-related trophies. There is no Chapter Select and no New Game+. However, you can make a Manual Save at the start of each Chapter. If you miss any Collectibles you must recollect everything from the save where you missed one or do another full Playthrough. Getting missing Collectibles on an old Manual Save isn’t enough to pop the Grim Reaper trophy (you need all Collectibles in the inventory at the same time in one playthrough).
- Glitched trophies: 1
Grim Reaper for finding all Data-Bios can glitch out in rare cases if it doesn’t register some Collectibles in the “Data-Bios” Menu (they remain blacked out in the menu). Check after each Collectible in the “Data-Bios Menu” that it counted correctly (
>
> Data-Bios). If you die/reload checkpoint you must collect any unsaved Bios again!
- Does difficulty affect trophies?: Yes, must beat the game on “Maximum Security” (highest difficulty). You have infinite lives in this mode. If you die you respawn at the nearest checkpoint.
- Minimum Playthroughs: 1, everything can be combined in one playthrough on Maximum Security difficulty by following the Collectible Guide.
- PS4/PS5 Autopop & Save Transfer: No Autopop! Saves Transfer works both ways from PS4>PS5 and PS5>PS4. If you have the save of the other version on your PS5 console it will automatically recognize it in “Load Game” menu, but doesn’t pop any trophies. You can transfer the PS4 save to PS5 via USB or PS+ Cloud. To transfer from PS5 console to PS4 console you must create a KRAFTON Online ID in game options and it will show you the instructions (if you play PS4 version on PS5 console you can skip the online transfer, just have the save on your console and it will automatically recognize it). You could load a manual save from before each trophy and redo the trophy triggers in the PS5 version by jumping from one save to the next.
- PS4/PS5 Crossbuy: Yes but only if you buy the more expensive Crossbuy Edition for $69,99 (there is a cheaper PS4-only version for $59,99)
- Free-Roam / Level Select after Story?: No. There is no Chapter Select, No New Game+, No Free-Roam. Nothing carries over between playthroughs. You can keep Manual Saves throughout the game and reload these to still get combat trophies.
- Release Date: December 02, 2022
Introduction
Welcome to The Callisto Protocol Trophy Guide! Getting Platinum in The Callisto Protocol is extremely straightforward. Finish the story on Maximum Security, get all 43 Data-Bios Collectibles to get all non-combat trophies, farm the Combat Trophies in “Chapter 3: Aftermath” after unlocking the GRP Glove (Telekinesis to throw enemies). Then you’ll have Platinum at the end of your Playthrough. Keep lots of Manual Saves throughout the game, in case you missed a Data-Bios Collectible you can reload the save and replay/recollect everything from that point on. It comes down to personal preference whether you want to do everything in 1 single playthrough on Maximum Security (quicker but harder) or do 2 playthroughs (longer but easier). The advantage to doing an easy playthrough first is that you can get all Collectibles out of the way. Many are on optional paths with extra enemy encounters. Then on Maximum Security you can skip these optional encounters and you’ll already know where all enemies spawn. No progress carries over from the first to the second playthrough, so the only advantage when doing two playthroughs is that you’d already know the game.
Step 1: Finish Story on “Maximum Security” Difficulty + Find All Collectibles
The highest difficulty “Maximum Security” is available from the beginning. You have infinite lives. If you die you respawn at the nearest checkpoint. There’s a checkpoint every few minutes and before every big enemy encounter. Compared to Easy difficulty, the enemies have about twice as much health and deal about twice as much damage. The number of item drops (ammo/health) is unaffected by the difficulty.
Combining everything in 1 Playthrough on Maximum Security Difficulty (No Exploit):
- Start Game on “Maximum Security” (highest difficulty)
- Follow The Callisto Protocol Collectible Guide – you get All Trophies & Platinum in 1 Playthrough by following it
- Platinum unlocks at end of 1st Playthrough.
If you find Maximum Security too difficult for your first playthrough, you can do a playthrough on Easy first. You can still change the difficulty in the Game Options at any time. No progress carries over between playthroughs and there is no New Game+. But you’d already know where enemies spawn and how to play the game. Doing everything in one playthrough will take 10-15 Hours and feels like a 6/10 difficulty. Doing it over 2 playthroughs will take 15-20 Hours (8-12h Easy with Collectibles + 7-10h Max Security) but feels closer to 4/10 – 5/10 difficulty. It comes down to personal preference whether you’d like a shorter but harder experience or an easier but lengthier one.
If you prefer doing two Playthroughs:
- You can do a Playthrough on Easy first + follow The Callisto Protocol Collectible Guide (after this you’ll have 91% trophies, everything except Maximum Security difficulty)
- Do “Maximum Security” Playthrough, you can now ignore all side paths / optional encounters and already know the enemy spawns, this makes it slightly easier
- Platinum unlocks after 2nd Playthrough.
There is a glitch for Maximum Security difficulty that allows you to get it on Easy Difficulty.
Using the “Maximum Security” Exploit to get all Trophies in 1 “Easy Difficulty” playthrough – no longer works as of Patch 1.07:
- Start Game on “Maximum Security” (highest difficulty) > after the game starts change it to Easy difficulty in game options > play through it on easy until you defeated the endboss > make a manual save after endboss and change it back to Maximum Security > finish the story and it will unlock Maximum Security trophy. This way you can make the platinum much easier. If it doesn’t work on first try reboot game and click “Continue”, change difficulty to max security again and redo final cutscene, then it should pop.
- Follow The Callisto Protocol Collectible Guide – you get All Trophies & Platinum in 1 Playthrough by following it
- Platinum unlocks at end of 1st Playthrough.
Important Notes:
- The trophy description for “Grim Reaper” is misleading, it mentions that you need specifically “Implant Bios” (which are harvested from corpses) but you also DO NEED the normal “Audio Logs” (the ones that are not from corpses). There are 43 Data-Bios total, they are all included in The Callisto Protocol Collectible Guide.
- Keep a Manual Save at start of each Chapter. If something bugs out or a collectible doesn’t register you can reload the save and replay from there. There is no Chapter Select! Collectibles can bug out sometimes (they don’t get added to Data-Bios Menu). Check after each Collectible that it counted (
>
Data-Bios Menu ). If you die and respawn before the Collectible you must pick it up again!
Combat Tips & Maximum Security Strategies:
- You are allowed to enable all Accessibility Settings on Maximum Security. This does NOT void any trophies. You do this under
> Options > Accessibility > Combat Assists. Using “Auto-Aim”, “Auto-Dodge”, “Melee Assist”, “QTE Auto Complete” is recommended to make it easier. (Note: Auto-Dodge doesn’t actually dodge all incoming attacks automatically, all it does is that you can keep holding the left stick to the same side the entire time to dodge all attacks, instead having to alternate between holding left/right)
- Your health level is displayed on the collar on the back of your neck. Green means high health, yellow is moderate health, red is low health.
- You can disable the Low Health screen effects under
> Options > Screen Options > Low Health FX.
- You dodge by HOLDING
/
the entire time (don’t tap the left stick, hold it pressed the entire time). Basically, you walk sideways the entire time to dodge. After you dodged a combo you can counter-attack. If you have the “Auto-Dodge” accessibility setting enabled you can hold the stick in the same direction the entire time. If you have the accessibility disabled you must alternate between holding the stick left and holding it right.
- Best combo is:
to do 3-4 hits > when the enemy stumbles back (blue mark on them)
+
to fire 1 shot (only possible after unlocking a firearm) >
to initiate next melee combo and repeat until enemy is dead. This keeps the enemy locked into an endless combo.
- Against single enemies use Melee. Only shoot guns to string together long combos (do 3 strikes and then fire 1 bullet).
- Only when there are 2-3 enemies spawning very close together use your firearms to get rid of them. Defeat the last remaining enemy with melee combos to save ammo.
- Stomp corpses of defeated enemies to get item drops. It always drops what you need most – if you are low on health it has a high chance to drop health, if you are low on ammo it has a high chance to drop ammo, if you have a lot of health and a lot of ammo it will drop money to buy upgrades at crafting stations.
- Inventory space is very limited, keep 1 health injector in inventory. Use the remaining slots for Ammo, Batteries and valuables to sell at Crafting Stations. The Crafting Stations first appear in Chapter 3: Aftermath, then they are found frequently throughout the game.
- Keep Batteries, don’t sell them. They are the only item type you cannot craft at crafting stations, which makes them very rare. They are needed to recharge the GRP glove (Telekinesis) which is extremely powerful. Use it in sections with lots of enemies to throw them into spiked walls and at other traps. You can also throw enemies off platforms. Some sections that would otherwise be very difficult can be extremely easy if you have enough Batteries to toss enemies into traps and off platforms.
- The enemy type “Blind Enemies” (first appearing in “Chapter 6: Below“) can be stabbed by staying crouched and pressing
from behind. Don’t run in these sections, stay stealthy.
- It shows the Chapter Names in the Data-Bios Menu (press
>
Data-Bios).
- More guns unlock throughout the game and from gun schematics (if you miss a schematic it keeps respawning in more obvious places along the main path until you collect it once).
- Avoid crafting “Skunk Gun” and “Tactical Pistol”. If you craft them the game will drop you ammo for these instead of other weapons. But if you never craft them you will keep getting ammo drops for the Riot Shotgun which is much better.
- Best Upgrades to prioritize:
- #1 – Upgrade Stun Baton melee damage first (left upgrade branch of your melee weapon). Melee is what you use the most. Melee weapons don’t break and can be used infinitely. The first melee strength upgrade also unlocks heavy attacks (
), then you can press
to knock enemies on the ground > immediately run to them > again
> repeat this cycle, enemy will be knocked down the entire time and can’t attack you!
- #2 – Upgrade Stun Baton melee speed (right branch of your melee weapon). Allows you to swing faster and tear off enemy limbs when they try to block your attacks. When they only have one arm they will never attempt multi-hit combos.
- #3 – Upgrade Riot Shotgun (ignore the final upgrade for $2700, it only adds an optional fire mode but this consumes too much ammo and isn’t worth the cost)
- #4 – Save your remaining Credits to craft full inventory of Assault Rifle ammo in Chapter 7 & Chapter 8. You need lots of ammo for the final boss (full inventory of Assault Rifle ammo is recommended). The Assault Rifle is the best weapon for the final boss. If you have enough credits also upgrade the ammo capacity & damage of the Assault Rifle.
- #1 – Upgrade Stun Baton melee damage first (left upgrade branch of your melee weapon). Melee is what you use the most. Melee weapons don’t break and can be used infinitely. The first melee strength upgrade also unlocks heavy attacks (
- Upgrades/Weapons to avoid:
- #1 – Skunk Gun, it’s a waste of credits, it’s a mod for your pistol that turns it into a shotgun. You get a much better “Riot Shotgun” for free in Chapter 5: Lost. It’s better to save your credits for upgrading that shotgun instead.
- #2 – Tactical Pistol, it does little damage and consumes too much ammo, no point in crafting it.
- #3 – GRP Glove, it runs out of energy too quickly and the batteries to recharge it are very rare. It’s only of use in a few sections with lots of enemies spawning around traps. The upgrades provide no big benefits over the unupgraded version, better to invest your credits into the main weapons that are usable in any situation.
- Okay to upgrade:
- #1 – Pistol, it’s automatically unlocked in Chapter 3: Aftermath. The first 3 upgrades are cheap and okay to buy. To get the trophy for fully upgrading one weapon you can buy the last upgrade for 1800 credits, then reload the last save to get the credits back. Better to put those credits into Stun Baton melee damage.

You Need a Gun Fully Upgrade One Weapon |

The cheapest weapon to fully upgrade is the Pistol, the first ranged weapon you get (automatic story unlock in Chapter 3: Aftermath). You can craft upgrades at crafting stations, found throughout the game (they first appear during Chapter 3: Aftermath). Credits are found as loot, dropped by enemies, in chests, and from selling items at Crafting Stations. Some loot can also be sold for a high price at crafting stations, such as “Energy Converter” (100 credits) & “Pristine Energy Converter” (200 credits). Later on you even find some valuables that can be sold for up to 1500 credits.
The pistol costs 2800 credits to fully upgrade:
Getting this amount of credits is no problem over the course of the game. However, there are not enough credits to fully upgrade all weapons. You can fully upgrade 2-3 weapons. It’s best to reload your save after the trophy unlocks to get the credits back. It’s better to invest your credits into Stun Baton Melee Damage and the Riot Shotgun, especially when playing on Maximum Security difficulty. |

Maximum Security difficulty is available from the beginning. You have infinite lives. If you die you respawn from the nearest checkpoint. There are lots of checkpoints so this isn’t too punishing.
The difference to Easy difficulty is that enemies have about twice as much health and deal about twice as much damage. The drop rate of items and ammo is unaffected. You get the same amount of Credits, Health Items and Ammo as you do on Easy. You can also craft Ammo and Health at every Crafting Station (found frequently after Chapter 3: Aftermath). Your health is shown on the collar on the back of your neck. Green means you have high health, yellow is medium, red means low health. When you approach low health you will find health pickups more frequently. There are 8 Chapters in total. You can also follow The Callisto Protocol (Maximum Security Difficulty) along the way. Changelog:
- 2022-12-13: Patch 1.07 fixed the Maximum Security Exploit, updated the guide accordingly
Chris says
Great job! So its a rent for me and going for the 1 hard playthrough!
TM says
Good job.
Thanks yet again for a guide.
The guide says it has no ng+ so I will start the game on maximum difficulty.
Only 15 hours to plat seems so short though. Cant remember what the dead space plat was, maybe it was just as short. Kinda a shame hoped this game would stretch to 25h+
Matthew says
So just how difficult is maximum security? Anything to compare it to difficulty wise?? And how generous are the checkpoints?
PowerPyx says
As it says at the top of the guide: 6/10 if you do it on the first playthrough, 5/10 if you do an easy run first and already know where the enemies spawn.
Personally I found it to be closer to 4/10 difficulty because I did it on the 2nd run. It’s not that bad. There’s a checkpoint every 5 minutes or so, basically before every enemy encounter.
Compared to the 3 lives difficulty in Dead Space it’s quite easy.
zer69 says
Excellent guide as usual, thanks. Did you like the game? Is it as good as Dead Space, your rating? Cheers.
TYB says
I’m sure this game will be great but $70 for such a short game is ludicrous. They should have added more replay value for sure. I hope it does well bc I love the genre but this is 100% a rental for me.
ImAPirateSoSueMe says
It’s a linear horror game. Even Dead Space wasn’t this long and that was $60. lol
TerminalPhoenix says
I don’t love seeing this kind of comment. I don’t think it’s right to imply that the price of a game and the length of it inform a good purchase.
PhantomFear94 says
£54.99 for this in the UK feels very fair. It’s a AAA quality game, and its a linear horror. It sort of is what it is. Cross-buy greediness is a different scenario, but I think the standard pricing is fair. Compared to £69.99 for Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, which is a 1st party title completable within the same time frame, and this isn’t a bad deal haha.
Anonymous says
Thank you for the trophy guide. The Platinum trophy difficulty is reasonable which is what I wanted but I am disappointed by no New Game Plus because I wanted to enjoy my upgrades carrying over to a 2nd playthrough. I’m hoping by the time I play, any glitched trophies will be patched.
Unfortunate that Krafton (the publisher) chose to be greedy by not giving a free PS5 upgrade but at least the PS4 version costs what it should (£49.99 or less).
Captain Bardiel says
There is a New Game Plus as of Version 1.09.
“Parole Denied” (Bronze)
Finish New Game Plus Mode.
Benjamin D Carpenter says
How scary is this game? I ask because I’m interested in this game but don’t do well with very scary games.
kad3n says
It’s very scary with jump scares popping out of nowhere all the time. Can’t really recommended it if you’re not a fan of gore, jump scares and horror.
PhantomFear94 says
Not scary at all. The scariest thing about it is enemies popping up occasionally and the tension from higher difficulties. Not on the scale of other notable horrors, nor Dead Space.
Arkonite says
It depends…
Unlike kad3n above my comment, I don’t say the game is scary. It is very gore and atmospheric, but the rare jump scares are predictable and the devs don’t play with this like a good horror movie or Dead Space to make the comparison.
The jump scares happen when you think they will and don’t happen when there is no reason to expect a jump scare. I was really surprised only twice during the whole game.
I think that the game knows how to create atmosphere and ambiance magnificently. But it doesn’t really instill fear. The gameplay system works well in this sense because it is very much centered on close combat and, once assimilated, the dodges are very simple to execute. This gives a feeling of security that makes the game not at all stressful.
A point that differs totally from Dead Space where the devs knew how to play with the horror codes to constantly surprise the player and create a feeling of insecurity even when we were fully stuffed ahah
ImAPirateSoSueMe says
You should mention that the PS4 version has a $9.99 upgrade path to the PS5 version in the “Crossbuy” section.
PowerPyx says
How do you access that upgrade? Can’t find it on PS Store.
JL says
Hmm, auto-dodge doesn’t seem to work on my game. Jacob just stands there and gets hit. Have to manually dodge myself. Is this a bug or am I missing how it’s supposed to be triggered (the auto dodge)?
PowerPyx says
The in-game description for Auto-Dodge in the accessibility options is wrong/misleading – it says “Automatically dodge nearest enemy during combat”.
This is not what it actually does (was likely changed during development and they forgot to update the in-game description accordingly).
What it does is that you can hold the left stick in the same direction to dodge all attacks from the enemy you are aiming at. Instead of alternating between holding the stick left & right.
&
.
the entire time (basically walk to the left) to dodge all attacks by the enemy in front of you.
Normally the way you dodge is that you alternate holding
Having Auto-Dodge enabled makes it so you can hold
It still requires button input and it does not dodge anything by enemies to your side or behind you. Only works on the enemy in front of you.
I also added a note about this in the Roadmap & Maximum Security trophy tips.
ziggurcat says
FWiW, I found that the auto dodge worked best for me by holding the L1 button and running backwards while facing the enemy. I have done this for the Two Head fights and the final boss, and I don’t get hit unless I get stuck/caught up on something.
Cocka says
Btw the devs said there will be an NG+coming in February 2023.
TM says
Yea i saw ng+ mentioned as well as more content, but am not sure why they decided to cut ng+ at release.
Dont think i will go back to the game just because i can do ng+ at a later state.
Although more content will be fun.
Gonzy42 says
Anyone else in ps4 don’t appeared trophies?
PowerPyx says
The PS4 trophy list isn’t live yet for some reason. When you disconnect from the internet the trophies will show up. Once the trophy list goes live you can sync. The trophies are stored on the console in the meantime (they can already be earned / won’t be lost, they just don’t sync yet).
Quack says
Sup! Thx for guide!
There is same safe files for both versions. So u can get trophy, switch version, load autosafe before trophy drop and get it again.
Jake says
Heads up in case you wanna add it to the guide – it was just confirmed that you can play on any difficulty and then switch to Maximum after beating the final boss, finish the game, and the Maximum Security difficulty trophy will pop.
PowerPyx says
It works!
This now makes the platinum a 2/10 – 3/10 difficulty.
Start game on Max Sec > after game starts change to Easy in Game Options > play through it on Easy > After defeating final boss (when reaching final cutscene) change it back to Max Sec > trophy pops.
However, it doesn’t seem to always work on 1st try. If it doesn’t work reboot the game and click “Continue” in title screen and repeat, then it should work.
Added it as an “extra” difficulty rating bullet point to overview + added it to Roadmap.
One thing that could use extra confirmation is if it also pops when you started the game on Easy difficulty initially. What I can confirm to work is that it pops when you started game on Maximum Security and changed it in settings to Easy afterward.
David says
Hey, I started the game on Easy, I am on chapter 5. So you are saying that after I beat the final boss, I have to quickly pause the game, switch it to the difficulty and can pop the trophy? I am already getting every other trophy along the way, so this would save me an extra playthrough.
Can you tell me at what point would it unlock? and is there a way for me to “try it again” as PowerPyx pointed out?
Shabyoob says
Does this work with new patch 1.006?
Lino says
Does it work with patch 1.06?
surtur101 says
It worked for me with patch 1.006 and I didn’t start on max difficulty. I started on easy and only after the final boss changed to maximum security I did have to restart the game for the trophy to unlock
Yuri says
The game has crashed on me six times in the first hour. And when it comes to getting the collectible in Elias’s cell in Chapter 2, it simply isn’t there. Everything in the cell glitches out, disappears and then reappears. I will start over if that fixes this issue but the game is a broken, buggy mess. Of course, there is an update which I have paused cause it says it will take 10 hours to download and install. Maybe the update fixes the issue I’m having. Any advice?
PowerPyx says
Definitely download the patch.
Version 1.00 has many issues.
Phill says
Had same issue on V1.0 but the collectable was found on a ledge to the right before going up the stairs outside the cell.
BillyBasso says
So I’m a little confused, you mention doing R2, R2, R2 and then use the gun, and repeat. But you also mention doing R2, R2, R1. So which one should I be doing?
PowerPyx says
R1 is after you upgraded stun baton to unlock heavy strike (heavy strikes do more damage). But either combo works fine.
Chris says
For the max security trophy glitch does it HAVE to be switched to min/easy or can I change it to normal/medium security instead? Really don’t want to play this game on easy.
PowerPyx says
Can’t 100% confirm it myself but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work the same with Normal. Only tested it with Easy. Feel free to try at your own risk.
TheSuper says
I can confirm that you can i started the game on medium security and after I beat the last boss I paused the game changed it to maximum security then saved the game then reloaded the save and got the trophy for beating the game on maximum security
Note: you don’t need to start the game on maximum security at first
PunkBanshee says
Don’t know if anyone else said this but you dont have to start the game at max sec then change to min sec you can start at min the manual save after killing the last boss chage it to max get the any difficulty trophy then reboot the game and continue and get the max trophy , tried on ps5 version 1.005.
Ryan says
Sorry, after killing last boss, first we do manual save and change to max difficulty or after killing last Boss first we change max difficulty and manual save?
Marianna says
Can confirm it works, i started game on Easy / Minimum Security, played the entire game on that setting, before getting the last hit on Final Boss i paused game, switched to Maximum Security, the Just finished the game, as soon as the credits started rolling, the Platinum popped right away, no reloading or rebooting the game or anything ( Playstation 5 ) ( Version 1.06 ) hope this helps.
Harley says
Does the max security glitch work post patch 1.06 ?
falsaai says
I also want to know this. I updated the game before I find out about the exploit. Please help!
Pvrka59 says
Yes
PowerPyx says
Still works on 1.06, enjoy 🙂
Ikaru says
It works.I did it 🙂 I played since the beginning in minimum security.i reboot the game in maximum security and the trophy popped.
Shayne says
Can I change difficulty to easy im almost done with chapter 4 to do the glitch?
PowerPyx says
Yes
Jay Does says
the glitch didn’t work. I changed to easy before the end boss fight and switching back to maximum immediately when they’re running up the stairs only gave me “beat the game at any difficulty” trophy. Hows is that possible?
I’ll try beating the final boss on hard now.
PowerPyx says
You must reboot the game if it doesn’t pop on 1st try (see the steps explained in guide).
PhantomFear94 says
I’ve read on TA that doing the above advice, closing game fully, then replaying last AUTOSAVE work. Currently on Mission 6 so yet to test
Jay Does says
hey Powerpyx, I did reboot the game, made multiple attempts reloading the last bit, hen made a manual save and everything. So what happened next is I loaded an earlier save I was playing all the way on maximum security, beat the final boss and still got no trophy! But then I made a manual save AGAIN, restarted the game again, reloaded the save and just ran to the ending and then it popped.
TM says
Cool glitch, but I will do it legit. Just because it is such a short plat.
Crow Pilot says
You Need A Gun trophy not unlocking. Just purchased the last upgrade I needed for the pistol and trophy won’t pop. Reloaded the game and tried again to no avail.
JtR says
The GRP is your best weapon for anything that isn’t a boss. It is misleading to imply that it isn’t that great. You will end up with too much ammo if you learn to use it, particularly if you upgrade it. You can insta kill every non boss enemy with the GRP.
PowerPyx says
The issue is that it’s very costly to fully upgrade compared to something like Riot Shotgun (which has far fewer upgrades). It’s better to put those credits into shotgun, which can be used everywhere (against bosses too), whereas the GRP is best reserved for sections like traps/spikes/throwing enemies off platforms. In sections where you can only throw enemies against walls with it, the battery expense isn’t worth using it.
By upgrading the shotgun (which is much cheaper) you have more money left to buy ammo and upgrade the assault rifle later, which is of great use against the final boss. I’d say that’s the most difficult section you want to save for/optimize your build for.
BillyBasso says
Do you ever think you’ll start rating games too? I’d be curious what you thought of this game, or a game like Death Stranding. I wouldn’t mind seeing your personal review of the game on the trophy guide as well
Sayed Aboalhassan says
I already finished the game on normal difficulty is there any way to do the max sec exploit without having to restart the game ? Because I havent started with max then switched to normal in the beginning of the game I was wondering if it is still possible in this situation
PowerPyx says
Only if you have a Manual Save, otherwise no.
Aryo says
Just follow these steps:
In main menu, choose continue, it brings you after final boss fight, pause, go to option and change the difficulty to maximum security, follow dani to escape pod, watch the cutscene and trophy will pop!
John Sison says
Just got the Platinum – thanks for the guide! Can confirm that I got the ‘Grim Reaper’ Trophy through Bio-Implants only (having missed one audio item), and the endgame Maximum Security exploit still works.
Cheers!
JL says
For the Assault Rifle upgrades, do you recommend we fully upgrade it or just upgrading it for the first three levels for increased ammo capacity, damage, and stability? The stability upgrade is quite costly at 4.5k credits so I don’t know about that one.
PowerPyx says
Just the damage upgrade is enough. Mainly to use it against final boss because you want to keep some distance to him, so it’s better than Shotgun there.
Crow Pilot says
Bug fix for Sgt. Pekelo data NOT WIRKING. Despite having made a Manual Save and reloading the game (including reloading the Autosaves) this Collectible will not appear. And this is after the Devs issued the recent Patch. What to do?
PowerPyx says
If you have a save from previous chapter replay from there. This might still fix it. Otherwise must delete all saves and start new playthrough from the beginning or wait for a patch.
Vinny says
For me, I made the manual save after the last boss, changed the difficulty to Maximum Security, watched the final cutscene, and when it got to the credits, it only popped the I Do Belong Here trophy (beat game on any difficulty). I closed the game out, then started it back up, went into Load Game, loaded my manual save where it was still on minimum security, changed it to Maximum Security and when I got through the final cutscene, it popped the trophy for beating it on Maximum Security. I never got it to work by simply doing Continue, because it started me on Maximum Security.
BrotherFilmriss says
Glitch also worked for me on 1.006 as well. Didn’t start the game on max security though. After completing the game when back in the main menu I switched to maximum security (probably not needed) and pressed continue, then I switched to maximum security in the game, manually saved, restarted the game and pressed continue again, trophy unlocked right before the credits.
BrotherFilmriss says
Oh and an advice for the final boss. Try activating the high contrast option for the fight in the accessibility options, this way you’ll easily identify the crawling enemies and can get rid of ’em. I really struggled with the boss and defeated him 1st try after activating the option.
PhantomFear94 says
For me, just remembering to dodge. The roadmap tips are perfect, just when he runs at you just accept it and dodge rather than trying to outrun and shoot. Killed the boss first time doing this.
angelbless says
One question for the exploit (which I still haven’t been able to make it work on PS4).
“If it doesn’t work on first try reboot game and click “Continue”, change difficulty to max security again and redo final cutscene, then it should pop!
When I hit continue, the difficulty is already at Maximum Security, so, do I have to change it again? meaning to change it back to Normal and again to MS? or select MS again? :S
I’ve tried everything and still can’t make it work.
PowerPyx says
The exploit still works, it’s just a little inconsistent, sometimes it works and sometimes not. Keep rebooting game before each try (or even reboot console) and it should work eventually.
PhantomFear94 says
I’ve made a comment below about this – it isn’t inconsistent, you need to specifically re-load your AUTO SAVE. After end-boss, IMMEDIATELY revert to Max Security, finish the game. Won’t pop yet. Quit the game, reload the game, reload your most recent AUTOSAVE and run to end. Should pop. Works first time, think the inconstancy is with MANUAL SAVES.
Also, worth mentioning you need to have started on Max in the first place. If you started on any other difficulty, don’t think it will work.
Shane says
Anyone else having issues on PS5 with the Max Sec and Plat Trophy registering? It popped at the end and screenshot them for proof but it didn’t register on my PS trophies.
I’m stuck at 91%
Super frustrating.
PowerPyx says
You need to manually sync your trophies (go to trophies > press options button > sync with PS Network). Sometimes it doesn’t automatically sync.
Shane M says
Just an update
For PS5 it took an extra day just to sync everything up and I’m at 100% complete
Not getting it right away made me think I did something wrong
If this happens to you just have patience, it’ll come through
Thanks for the response PowerPyx
Aaron says
If I didn’t change the the difficulty at the beginning can I do it mid game and change it back and then change it again at the end of the game
PhantomFear94 says
For those using the Maximum-Security exploit for “The Protocol is About Life” trophy, it isn’t inconsistent, it will work first time if specifically do the following.
– Start the game on Max Security
– Change it to difficulty of choice
– Beat end-boss, immediately put it back at Max Security
– Finish game. Trophy will NOT pop yet.
– Close game. Restart game.
– Load most recent AUTO SAVE. This is key. Do not reload your manual save. Your last auto-save should be on Max Security after the end-boss. Run through to end and it will pop.
I’m not saying manual save won’t work, but I’ve heard very inconsistent reports reloading old Manual Saves, do the last auto-save specifically and you shouldn’t have to retry it several times!
PhantomFear94 says
You may wish to make a Manual Save anyway – I did this as a backup. However, autosave is the more consistent method. I changed difficulty during the end-boss defeated cutscene.
BrotherFilmriss says
I didn’t start on Max difficulty at all, had it running on easy all the time straight from the beginning. Maybe the trick lies with using the continue button right after restarting your game once and not use “load game”. Afaik I didn’t load the game manually after I switched to maximum security but used the continue function. The latest save was my manual save then.
ziggurcat says
This doesn’t appear to work – at least not on the latest patch. I have paused right as soon as the cutscene triggers after defeating the last boss. Creating a manual save at that time says it’s still the “Last Chance” checkpoint, and the auto save file for the “Run to the escape pods” – or whatever it is called – does say that it’s on Max difficulty. It creates two autosaves at the end, in fact, with about a 4 minute gap in between the time stamps. I’ve tried loading both of those, and still nothing. I will try waiting a few seconds to see if an autosave is created shortly after the cutscene starts, and then change the difficulty before it ends to see if the two auto save files have two different difficulty settings.
4ipuxa says
Playing on Ps5.
Did the plat on Ps5 version. with exploit of course
But Ps4 version doesnt want to do it, even the trophy for completing the game
doesnt unlock, tried rebooting the game, console , etc. version is older 1.04 i am playing strictly offline.
BrotherFilmriss says
On PS4: I changed the difficulty in the main menu to maximum security, loaded up my cloud save of the PS5 version (“run to the escape pods!”). After loading it immediately popped “Grim Reaper”. After the final cutscene it popped the two difficulty related trophies right before the credits.
Matthew says
I skipped one collectible in Chapter 3. Do I need to collect all the collectible items or just this one in the new game to get the trophy?
PowerPyx says
All of them.
Toxic says
Can anyone confirm the exploit works on version 1.07 ?
JaaackTommyyy says
This game has one thing I can’t stand, a collectibles trophy with no CHAPTER SELECT! I outright refuse to replay the entire game again for the sake of a few missed collectibles. Dante’s Inferno did this too, and that was equally frustrating. They should have done what Dead Space did and only require you to find so many not all of them. Ahh well no platinum for me.
ziggurcat says
Rumour is there’s going to be a NG+ option added at some point, so hopefully those who have only started the game, and missed a few don’t have to do an entire playthrough to get that one missing collectible.
Alex says
When I started the game for the first time at launch, I picked Easy. I just finished the game using the “reboot the game” method and the trophy popped for me. Not sure if it will work for everyone.
BeeDog says
I just wanted to mention that the “Grim Reaper” alla bio-data trophy seems to (thankfully) be inconsistent even with the latest patch on PS5.
I missed one of Dr. Mahler’s logs earlier in the game (the “Corruptors” one) and wasn’t bothered to jump back to an earlier save file. I’ve been pushing ahead and just reached the end of the game and picked up the second-to-last collectible from chapter 8, and voila! The trophy unlocked just the same. It’s the collectible after you pass the security door that Mahler opens for you.
In other words, if you’re bummed about missing one log or so and you’ve progressed a decent chunk, it’s worth just finishing up the game to this point and see if it still unlocks for you.
Cocka says
The Ps4 version doesn’t synchronise trophies with PSN it says Something went wrong all the time, first time seeing such BS.
Did double plat on PS5 right now looks like i wasted some time for this.
PowerPyx says
PS4 list is still not live on Sony servers (almost a week after launch). Looks like they forgot this exists. Doesn’t sync for anyone.
Joeri says
It is indeed a bunch of BS. This should be unacceptable for a AAA-game.
The issue is usually because the trophy list on their end doesn’t work for some reason (or in some cases isn’t even online yet), which creates the problem because there simply is no list to synchronize with.
The good news is that the trophies ARE saved on your system, so when the list eventually does work, you WILL be able to synchronize and have them show in your list.
Marianna says
I Just Updated Callisto Protocol to Version 1.07 ( its was 14.86 GB ) trophies are popping in game, BUT still no showing on Trophy List, every time i try to synchronize i get an error, are people still having this issue on Playstation 4??
Jacob says
In order to use the expolit, do I have to play the game on the easy difficulty? or can I play it on a higher difficulty and still use it?
PowerPyx says
It also works when playing on Normal.
Lerodemmy says
I got the platinum on PS5 playing Maximum Security legitimately.
I loaded a save from that playthrough on PS4, beat the final boss and finished the game.
I Do Belong Here popped, but The Protocol is About Life didn’t.
Any thoughts?
Marianna says
Did you use the Autosave or Manual Save?? Also did you finish the Game all the way to the end?? ( Until the Credits show up.
Marianna says
If you did do that, i suggest using the PowerPyx method ( you might need to reboot / reload the game a couple of times ) , use a save Just before you Fight the final boss, Change difficulty to Minimum Security, Just before the last Hit on Final Boss pause the Game Change to Maximum Security, then Just Run to the end Finish the game ( until the Credits ) trophy should pop
HongTae-JP says
I also reloaded my manual save from PS5 Version. (The one that I had manual save a Hard Difficulty after beat a final boss.)
It was popped I Do Belong Here & The Protocol is About Life just fine.
Maybe you should try to reload that save again and let the credit roll to see if it pop.
Drizzt09 says
I found that for the final boss and the two heads according to your metrics. Fully upgrading the hand cannon and using the explosive or “bomb rounds” is 2 for minimum, 3 for medium and 4 for maximum security. Two to break shell and 1 to 2 for damage for the final boss. Given how quickly it reloads and how it’s a borderline fire and forget type ammo isn’t it easier to load up and do that? The grp comes into play with the “blind” monsters and the drill ride and it definitely helps (or at least helped me) when I took a slower and more calculated approach to multiple enemies. But that might just be me. Just a thought ?
ZZZ says
Hey
Is the exploit on maximum security still works on latest patch?
PowerPyx says
Yes
HongTae-JP says
Hey Powerpyx
I can confirm that The Saves Transfer works fine for me (PS5 > PS4).
The PS4 Version have to install as the same location as The PS5 Version for The Saves Transfer to be works.
After I reload the save that I’ve had manually saved after beat a final boss, It’s popped a “Grim Reaper” Trophy.
If you keep play to the end of the game, after credit roll it’s pop “I Do Belong Here & The Protocol is About Life” just fine. (Depend on your manual save, if it’s on which difficulty.)
***Sorry for bad English btw***
George R says
Today I finished the last Boss on the Minimum Difficulty, then after the final Boss changed the Difficulty to Maximum Security but the Maximum Security didn’t pop.
What I did?
I closed the game, turned off auto-synch from the Cloud, went into the game again and in the Loading Game section Deleted every save that was on Minimum Difficulty, leaving only an Auto Save and two Manual Saves that were in Maximum.
Closed again the game app and relaunched it. Trophy unlocked. 🙂
ziggurcat says
I will try this. I tried for a few hours to get this dumb thing to pop, but none of the methods seem to work right now.
ziggurcat says
Sorry – also… were both your manual/auto save files at the “run to the escape pods” checkpoint?
TrollerMaN says
Hey, brother, thank you for the tip. How did you turn off the cloud saves?
Thank you in advance.
ziggurcat says
Another thing: I turned off the upload to cloud, but Cloud Save files keep showing up in my Load Game menu. Is there an in-game option for this because I can’t seem to find one.
Trin says
Did the Maximum Security glitch get patched? I have seen that end scene sooo many times trying different saves, have closed the game down multiple times, tried loading from manual and auto saves and starting from the continue. Nothing. I started the game on Maximum and changed it to Medium until right after final boss.
Teoff says
Just used the glitch and still worked on 1.006, I noticed they were rolling up a new patch (1.007) and I kept canceling and deleting it even if I turned off the auto update for games. I was thinking of finishing it tomorrow. But because I was afraid the game being patched automatically and risk another 15hour of play through with more of those two heads, I decided to push through til the today and now got the platinum trophy.
tokyopunchout says
Having the same issue. Wonder if it was patched out in 1.007?
ziggurcat says
I have just seen someone confirm that it still works on 1.07, but the timing might be important. The game creates two auto save points at the very end – one when the cutscene triggers after you beat the final boss, and another when you regain control. They changed the difficulty in between those two points (while the cutscene is playing, but before you regain control), and I think did the whole reboot the game and load the auto save file (I don’t think they made a manual save). They said they did it 6 times on the 1.07 patch.
Trin says
Thanks for the comment ziggurcat. I tried that, even re-fighting the final boss and switching to max security right before he died. After rebooting I reloaded from the auto-save that is the cutscene right after you kill the boss and still nothing. Think it’s time to play on Maximum.
Víctor says
The exploit worked yesterday in PS4.
What I’m still having trouble with is the trophy synchronisation. I still don’t see any of them. They are stored on the PS4 but my platinum list hasn’t been updated yet.
Maxis says
Is Game, Difficult on Medium ? I’m not very Good at This kind of games.
TM says
Is the float like a butterfly bugged?
I have tried for over 2+ hours now to get it
No matter what i do i cant get it to trigger.
Tried with the dodge helper and without it.
Fabri says
Anyone have problems with Float Like A Butterfly trophy in ps4? I do the perfect and dont Win the trophy!
Ali says
Hi All,
I am on 1.07v. Finished the game on easy then change it to hard after beating the final boss. The trophy didn’t popped out for me. Tried manual and auto load, rebooting the game, deleted the game and reinstalled it again, deleting all autosaves of the easy level and kept the two hard saves and turning the auto sync. With all this, the trophy is not popping. I didn’t like the game that much so I guess no platinum for me.
Geoffrey says
Hi,
First of all, thank you for your Trophy Guide, always the must…
Quick question: I tried many times to do perfect dodges with an alone and simple enemy, never success just one… I don’t understand when and how to proceed with joysticks. I try to wait the last time, but I get hurt or it makes a simple dodge… 🙁
ziggurcat says
What you have to do is dodge when they have their arm raised, but right before they actually swing at you. It does help if you hack of one of their arms first so you only have to worry about dodging in one direction.
AM7 says
I finished the entire game again on Maximum Security Difficulty legit and the difficulty trophy didn’t unlock. Am I missing something?
Krystian says
On Xbox, after 1.5 update glich not working.
Mikal McDowell says
I tried to do the exploit of playing through the game on easy then switching to hard at the final moment. It didn’t work for me so I decided to play through on hard all the way through and the trophy still will not pop for me even though I did it completely on hard without changing. Is there anything else I can do?
Mikal McDowell says
I played through easy on 1.006 then it updated when I was at the end to 1.007. I played through hard on 1.007
Phen says
I think the most recent patch may have just broken the Maximum Security trophy altogether. I finished the game legit today and it refuses to pop…
Mikal McDowell says
I have the same problem
tokyopunchout says
Same here.
Juan Zamora says
Just started the game but wanted to see if the maximum security glitch still works?
Steve says
Just finished the game this morning, and the exploit does not work for me. Tried everything but reinstalling the game from the disc, which I will try next.
ziggurcat says
Someone on PSN Profiles was able to get it to work on 1.07, like 6 times, so it might still be possible. The timing might be different than what it was originally, though. It hasn’t worked for me at all, so I’m not sure what it is that I’m missing. Some people doing it legit have said that the Max difficulty trophy isn’t popping for them, either, so they may have broken the game in an attempt to address this exploit. Unfortunately, it could be an earlier in-game event that triggers the trophy to not pop, which is usually why these progression bugs occur.
TM says
Updated the game to 1.7 and the float like a butterfly poped after 2 min. Am not sure if its bugged on earlier patches, but I tried forever on the 1.6 patch and dident get it.
My best tip is to turn of auto dodge. And take on arm of, so that you only have to worry about one arm.
Right before the enemy attack tap the stick twice fast.
When I did it like this, and updated the game i got it in 2 min.
Hope it helps.
Stos says
Do I have to listen to the audio logs? 3 of the collectables I got since chapter 3 in the basement are unable to be listened to. They’re just permanently loading. Reloading and picking them up again didn’t fix it. Chapter 1/2/4 I haven’t had any problems with them. Will I need another playthrough?
PowerPyx says
I never listened to them, shouldn’t matter.
JT says
Should I play offline mode before installing the game so that way I can take advantage of the maximum security glitch? I will be installing the game for the first time.
PowerPyx says
In version 1.00 the game is a broken mess, collectibles are not where they are supposed to be, it runs very poorly. I wouldn’t recommend the game in version 1.00 to anyone.
Mento says
I heard the new patch (1.07) completely ruined the maximum security trophy, even those who play it the legit way can’t get it now.
Richard says
Its not working for me…
Richard says
I cannot get the maximum security exploit to work anymore. I started the game on maximum, then switched to minimum, and followed the steps at the end. It will not pop now. What else should I try to do?
Kauna23 says
Impossible to finish the game in version 1.000. At chapter 4 the save is broken, you cannot save anymore, the game will crash every 10 minutes and you have to restart from the last auto save in chapter 4. You will be stuck there forever.
If you have a save in version 1.007 at final chapter and try to load it in version 1.000 the game crash immidiatly.
Actually is impossible to unlock maximum security trophy.
Samuele says
Hello, for those who have the physical version.
Play the game with patch 1.07 installed.
Defeat the final boss by changing the difficulty from easy to hard just before finishing it.
Delete the game from play and reinstall it without downloading the update. Do the trick and get the trophy.
TYB says
Nothing will screw this up, you’re sure? A lot of games if you try to play an older version after playing on a patched version the save file will say “incompatible save” or something. I have disc and want to start it but I’m kind of hesitant. Want to take your word for it but don’t want to get to the end and be screwed either lol
Longjiao says
It was a painful experience but i completed the game on disc version 1.00 there were alot of bugs and collectibles were all over the place, but the were not difficult to find if you keep a look out. I can cofirm the max secuirty glitch works on this version. You have to save the game after the boss them change then change diificulty to max and save again. I did not close the game and didnt get trophy during credits, but once i close the game reopened and continued to the credits it popped, hope this helps
Owl says
There is still a possibility to earn the maximum security trophy, though it only works for people with the physical copy. I did the trophy today , i needed many save reloads though. But i can confirm it still works with this , but remember only with the physical copy. Cheers.
PowerPyx says
You can do it with a disc on version 1.00 if you don’t download the patch (go offline before inserting disc).
But the game is a broken mess on 1.00, would not recommend this to anyone.
Max Sec isn’t that hard when doing it in 2nd playthrough.
Rain says
It says “Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed” but 2 trophys are missing in my list,
it’s “The Outer Way and Desperate Times.
PowerPyx says
Must have bugged in your game. They are unmissable from story, no way around it.
Kevin says
The exploit seems to have been patched for PS5. Tried it multiple times on different save files but no luck. Even tried deleting the game, disconnecting from internet and playing without updates but game crashes 10 seconds into running for escape pods. Anyone able get this still?
Dogbert says
Powerpyx, I FINALLY got my copy in the mail today.. and got the first mandatory trophy…
Now, I find out my trophy list is not syncing properly. Wasted my whole morning/afternoon looking for solutions online and being on Live Chat support with PS. No fixes… and now I can’t continue, because nothing else is popping (for example, the easy photo mode trophy).
Playing this via PS4 disc, backwards compatible version on a PS5.
The weird thing is, if I sign out of PSN, I can see the T.C.P’s trophy list just fine.
SIGH…
PowerPyx says
The developers of the game still haven’t uploaded the PS4 trophy list to PSN. It’s something they have to fix.
Not sure why they’re so behind on this, never seen anything like it for a bigger game. You can already earn the trophies, they just won’t sync with PSN because the devs haven’t submitted the PS4 list to Sony.
PowerPyx says
It appears the Maximum Security Exploit has been patched.
I’ve updated the guide & roadmap accordingly.
Sushi Princess says
Can I file a complaint somewhere? I just beat the game for begin to end on Max but trophy again did not pop… 🙁 Took me 2 days to finish it and it was all for nothing again… Can anyone help me with this?
PowerPyx says
Yes – when you go to the game’s website and scroll to the bottom there’s a “customer support” button.
It’s this link (shortened here): bit.ly/3uPlJQ4
Sushi Princess says
Thanks I filled a support ticket hope they fix it cause it’s my last trophy and it was a pain at some parts to complete max security…
Amir says
Hey
When the 1.007 patch came out i refused to update and kept my game on 1.006 patch(digital edition btw)
Just wanted to know does the exploit work now?or i need 2 playthroughs?
PowerPyx says
On 1.06 it still works.
Sushi Princess says
I did every step of the Maximun security Trophy but the trophy doesn’t pop after my 5th playtrough still nothing… Am I doing something wrong in the steps???? I start the game on Max then as the game starts, pauze and set to Minimum play till the end of the boss fight pauze again make a manual save and set to Max again. Also tried the continue but that is also not working….
ziggurcat says
If you are on game version 1,07, it may have been patched. In their effort to fix this exploit, they may have also locked people out of doing it legit, too.
Reckdahalls says
Completed max security legit… nothing popped. Just wow.
PowerPyx says
Apparently, they broke it completely now in Patch 1.07. I added it to the glitched trophy section. Many people have this issue now (worked fine on 1.06).
ziggurcat says
Yup. I just got through it on PS4, but was not awarded the Max Security trophy, either. Started the run on 1.07, finished on 1.08. I had started the game on PS5, and switched to PS4 part-way through the 2nd chapter. The reason for the switch was the satisfaction of having the trophies pop again.
Ender says
I just want to share my experience doing the difficulty setting exploit. I bought the disc version and pplayed through the game patched. Patch 1.7 hit sometime during my playthrough and it installed. I finished the boss and then swapped to max difficulty. Saved. Reloaded. Many many times. Closed the game and tried it all again. I could not get it to pop on 1.7. So I deleted the game data( not the save files) and disconnected the ps5 from the internet. Installed the game as it came on the disc. And set out to try again. It would crash 10 seconds in. It crashed maybe 15 times. Everytime getting closer to the end of the run after the boss. It also would not let me make a new save file.
here is what finally worked for me. Let the full gane install. The game will let you jump in before the install is complete, and that is what i did initially. I think that may be why i crashed nonstop. Turned on performance mode. Took off motion blur. And then ran looking only down at the ground. I finally made it to the cutscene (sometimes the game would crash at the cut scene). Made it to the credits and it still wouldnt pop. Also beware that the trophy should pop at the beginning of the credits. I at throuh the 10+ minute credits a few times and nothing worked.
So what i finally did was one of those times when the credits was done i hit start and exit to main menu. Then I hit load file. Then I once again clicked on max difficulty even though that is what was already highlighted. Made.a new manual save. Then i ran up the stairs one final time and it popped.
it took me about two hrs of constant crashing and getting all the way to the end and it still not working, before it finally did.
Sushi Princess says
I found out why it did not unlock… The Protocol is About Life is bugged / doesn’t unlock since Patch 1.07 they probably destroyed the trophy while patching that easy maximum security glitch! Guess we have to wait for another patch….
InnesJack says
That trophy has been achieved by quite a few folk today / yesterday if you check out psn profiles so can’t be bugged
PowerPyx says
Could be people playing an older version before 1.07. Or maybe it isn’t bugged for everyone but there are definitely lots of reports of it since 1.07.
Exploiter says
Does the exploit work if I delete patched game data but keep save files and reinstall the game without patching, then loading easy save game after final boss? I unfortunately installed patch 1.07 because the devs did not mention the exploit patch in the patch log.
OMGRaiin says
It does work on 1.07 ! I did it.
i changed difficulty during last cinematic and tropphy popped on the blacksreen to credits
Jake says
Digital or physical copy?
Exploiter says
That sounds nice, I will try it, then. They just released 1.08 but I will stay with 1.07 just in case the exploit also works for me. Thanks for the info, bro. I have the physical copy, btw. You, too?
OMGRaiin says
@Jake, it was a disc
Sushi Princess says
Yeah I did a whole playtrough on max after this patch and still didn’t unlock… so filled a support ticket hope they can fix it…
Mikal McDowell says
I did the same let’s hope for the best
Exploiter says
What’s the news about Patch 1.08? I guess they patched the trophy bug they created for many players for maximum security. But does the exploit work (again)?
ziggurcat says
I think they finally fixed the PS4 trophy sync issue, though they really didn’t need a game update for that. Same deal – some people are reporting the trophy not popping on the new update. Some are saying it pops just fine. I’m on chapter 8 on PS4 doing it legit right now, so I should know soon enough whether it works.
JT says
I will be testing it out soon with the new patch 1.08. Hopefully it works. I’m currently playing on normal difficulty. So I will definitely let you know
JT says
I can confirm that it doesn’t work anymore.
Dogbert says
Trophies are now syncing! I REPEAT: PS4 Trophies are NOW SYNCING!
You don’t need the patch (v1.08), but it’s good to install it anyways.
Finally… damnit! I can play! 🙂
Dantes61680 says
Just wanted to share but I was able to get the Maximum Security Trophy legit with Patch 1.07. Based on people reports I did the following based on trophy hunting experience and it worked.
1) Delete your save file from the PS5
2) Delete your game and reinstall
3) Once the game is install go offline with your ps5. The reason for doing this is the game somehow downloads your save from the cloud even if you deleted the save from the PS5. You want a fresh playthrough with no other save files.
4) Start the game on Maximum Security. I didn’t do any manual saves during my playthrough and just used continue everytime I played the game.
5) Once you beat the game the trophy pop.
Anyway hope this help people if you are going to do it legit. You can check my PSN profile at dantes_61680 and see that I was able to get the plat.
ziggurcat says
I just finished the game on Max Security, legit, and the trophy never popped for me. A few things of note, though: I started the run on PS5, but switched to PS4 part-way through Chapter 2 because I felt it would be more satisfying getting the trophies. I also started the run on 1.07/1.007 and 1.08/1.008 installed right after I got to the final chapter. On the bright side, they finally populated to PS4 trophy list, amirite?
JarvisHR says
Me too. Finished legit on 1.008 and trophy never popped!
Taz says
I played through the entire game on Maximum (PS5) and just got the platinum today on patch 1.08. I did refight the final boss. I think they might have changed it to where loading the hallway saves won’t work towards trophy progress. So you have to beat the final boss and then run to the end to get the trophy to pop. Maybe someone else who is still having issues could test and confirm?
reckdahalls says
I just loaded my max security save at the printing station right before the final boss. Beat him and finished… still not trophy pop for me.
JarvisHR says
I also finished Max Security legit, starting and finishing on max without changing difficulty and trophy didn’t popup on v1.008. Seems developers wasting our time with stupid trophy bugs!
Jevgeni says
I done it today legit max security , its was easies hard mode i ever play , about trophy its pops for me with no problems , people who dont get it , i think you glitched the game with glitch , try to delete all yours previous saves and start from fresh .
PSN ID – trei
PS – in version 1,008 they do more easy play , some blowing mobs dont spawned where they must be , such as in battle with last boss , before spawned 4 or 5 now its spawnd only 2
Dantes61680 says
I posted this days ago but people are not picking it up. Hope people try it more to see if we get a bigger pool of data to prove the theory. I did mine with Patch 1.07

Im not sure if its because im playing the disc version on 1.00 so following the collectibles guide im just starting chapter 4 and theres been 2 that are not where there supposed to be 1 in chapter 2 and 1 in chapter 3 and the trophy for getting the shiv also didnt unlock
PowerPyx says
Collectible Guide is based on the latest patch. The locations in 1.00 are slightly different in some places (but always near the new locations).
max says
i’m on 1.06 (PS4), started om max security, in the mid-game changed to min, right at the start of the cut-scene after the boss-fight changed back to max. didn’t get the trophy for max security and even for completing the game. tried rebooting the game (i’m offline, so it doesn’t update), rebooting the console, nothing helps. any advice?
Ross says
I am working my way through on max security On a legit run with the latest patch. Very concerned with these reports of the platinum not popping
ziggurcat says
Finally got the plat. Started a brand new game on 1.008, and disconnected from the internet to keep any updates from causing another problem. Deleted all other save data to be safe, but I am skeptical that that was actually required. Created a manual save at the run to the pods checkpoint, loaded it into the PS4 version, and the trophy popped there for the plat, too.
InnesJack says
I can confirm Maximum security trophy unlocked for me after my hard play through. I installed and started the game on Friday 16th dec on patch 1.08.
Johnny says
Started the game with the 1.08 patch and got the maximum trophy legit by doing nothing special.
Alex says
Not sure if it was just luck, but a few weeks ago I imported my PS5 save into the PS4 version (need a krafton id account), tried the glitch, and only Grim Reapper and I Do Belong here popped. Tried the reboot game method, didn’t work, so I gave up. Today, decided to try again on 1.08 of both the PS4 & PS5 versions, made sure there weren’t any PS4 saves for the game on my PS5 and imported my PS5 Manual Save I made during the cut-scene right after the final boss (Tower – Last Chance) into the PS4 version, paused the game during the cut-scene, changed the difficulty to Maximum Security, unpaused, continued playing the game to the end, and The Protocol is About Life trophy popped as the credits started. I was shocked it worked, seems like it’s hit or miss. I’m gonna replay the PS4 version on easy and get the rest of the trophies. Really hope it works for other people.
Rux says
Hi all,
Dec22 here, finished my 2nd legit Max security run after reading some comments here. Trophy did not pop. F*** this game.
asdf says
I started a brand new game on 1.08 and it popped for me at the end doing it legit
You guys need to be fully wiping your save files if you are trying to do a run based off an old system data save
Cstrang says
Started and finished Max Security playthrough December 25th on patch 1.008 on PS5 and trophy did not pop.
asdf says
Were you using an old save file? Not like a checkpoint save, I mean did you play the game before 1.08 and not fully wipe the save data off your ps5?
I played fresh save (wiping PS5 save data from ps5 menu) and it popped at the end
Cstrang says
no, i only played the game on the 1.008 patch. i did not start any other playthroughs off of that patch. i did, however, have a previous playthrough on normal still on my system.
Seba says
Thx so much for the guide . Wanted to ask if its worth to upgrade the targeting module upgrade for max dif?? Or use the credits for riot gun and assault rifle?
Cstrang says
you don’t need the targeting module upgrade. the credits are better spent elsewhere.
Nicolomeus der Unfassbare says
For me the same. Patch 1.08 and no trophy for max security playthrough.
F*** the ppl who make this game. It’s the worst of 2022.
Seba says
Just got the platinum on legit started on 1.08 and did it in 1 playthrough .
Got both difficult trophy
Sushi Princess says
Is the Max difficulty trophy fixed already that anyone knows? I just don’t want to do another playtrough again… Was really enjoying the game till all these bugs and glitches started to show….
Bloppe says
I Managed to get around it. But maybe I was only lucky. I started the game on no update with maximium security and changed difficult. And somehow betweens game sessions it has managed to update the game to patch 1.08 even tough I had turned off automatic updates. I noticed when I finished the game that the trophie didn’t pop after restart and then I checked and it had updated it self…
But this is what I did and made the trophie pop anyway:
Deleted the game installation, installed the game again and deleted the update.
Started an autosave during the last moment when you run in the red corridor.
The game crashes after a few seconds on this 1.08 saves, but I changed the difficulty fast and then pushed restart from last checkpoint, an autosave file with highest difficulty creates and it works to run to the end without crashes.
but it was some minior visible bugs and the end texts wasn’t skipable and the trophie didn’t pop.
So I made a manual save during the ends texts. Closed the game, updated the game to 1.08, loaded my manual save and ran to the end and then it poped.
seba says
it worked for me but I started it on patch 1.08 and did 1 playthrough and got both trophies.
Ryan says
Maximum Security Glitched After 1.08 Patch. So I started the game on on medium difficulty, changed it to easy half way through and finished the game. After lots of updates. Thought I had missed the chance but hadn’t. I turned the internet off and deleted the game. Reinstalled it from disc and loaded up my save at the final point. Changed the difficulty to maximum and ran around in circles. I died and it created an auto save. I deleted all my other saves and made another manual save. (Now I have one normal and one auto no patch 1.0 version of the game. Ran to the end and the Maximum Security Trophy Popped! Hell Yeah!
Exploiter says
Finally got maximum security trophy and platinum! Since the exploit did not work for me on 1.07 and 1.08, I deleted the game data and played again offline using the exploit. Had to replay the ending around 8 times including rebooting the game. At some point it popped at last.
What bug game this is without patches. Devs should not be allowed to release games like this!
Gerry says
i finish 3 times the callisto protocol on ps5 with 1.08 patch , 2 times on maximum difficulty but the trophy don’t popup, i already disinstalled 2 times the game but don’t give me the trophy , what can i do?
PowerPyx says
When you booted the game for the first time was the before 1.08 patch? If yes, delete all your save games, reinstall, try again.
If your save was from 1.07 and you then updated to 1.08 and kept the saves on your console, I think that’s what’s breaking it. Best bet is to start completely clean: remove all save games for Callisto Protocol, reinstall the game (make sure it’s 1.08 before booting it up), redo everything from scratch.
Amini says
finished the game on MAXIMUM SECURITY legit, but the trophy did not pop up!
Ruben says
I beat the game on maximum security and the trophy did not popped up, anyone else has this issue?
Dreamcrawler says
Hey there,
now with ng+ available:
Is it possible to do the Maximum Security Trophy in NG+?
And do you think it is easier than a normal Run?
Greetz
Cstrang says
Can confirm Maximum Security does now pop, and is earnable in a NG+ run.
Troozi says
I will be trying the NG+ Maximum Security playthrough over the next couple of days, I’ll post an update once I’ve finished
Natas says
I just got the Platinum for the PS5 version. Confirmed to work on 22/01/23 with the latest 1.09 Patch.
Follow the instructions below:
You need the disc edition.
Step 1. Complete game on any difficulty up until the very end where you have to run to escape pods.
Step 2. Delete game data and disconnect from internet. Re-install the base game while staying offline.
Step 3. Boot up last save you have.
Step 4. MOST IMPORTANT STEP! Switch to maximum security difficulty and restart the checkpoint! You have to restart checkpoint otherwise you cannot make a manual save.
Step 5. Confirm your difficulty is still set to maximum security and make a manual save.
Step 6. Close down game and redownload the update. (1.09 on ps5)
Step 7. Load manual save you just made once download is complete and finish last part of the game. Trophy will pop after end game scene and title screen hits.

I can also confirm that this works.

Does this work on the latest update 1.12?
Zal says
Can confirm this works on latest update 1.015
If you have disk version play thru the game on latest update and then do this
Disk version is horrible to play thru some collectibles are on different location and one was completely bugged in chapter 6 also some trophies won’t pop on 1.0 i had 3 story trophies glitched on disk version and had to redo them on latest update to get them

Thanks, this is very helpful. I’ll update this in the guides shortly! A bit strange they would move collectibles around for no reason.

Has there been a rotation on collectibles in the latest patch? I simply cannot find data-bios #2 on the same place as in the video

No trophies are popping up for me. I’m so confused. Tried everything but not a single trophy is popping up..is anyone else having this problem?
John E. Quick III says
For some reason, Paper Jams didn’t/won’t pop for me, but the next one for printing an upgrade did. On non updated game. Tried a couple times.
Going to update it and try again.
John E. Quick III says
Worked after the update. Now to hope the newer method for the Maximum Security exploit works on v1.26.
If not, I’ll just do it legit. Just trying to save a playthrough.
Baris says
@Johnny
I just started a new game, Dismemberment mode or how its called doesn’t give you any trophy’s.

Hi ????????
“ – no longer works as of Patch 1.07”
I just put on the physical copy and it tried to download a 1.028.00 version ?
Should I download it to make it easier for the difficulty exploiting trick ?
Thanks ????

If anyone is having trouble with the final boss (digital version of the game on latest patch). I played on Maximum security up to the second phase of the final boss fight when the game auto saves. I also made a hard save right there. Then I disconnected the PS from the internet and started the second phase. As soon as I started I went to settings and changed to easy mode and beat the boss. Just as the cut scene started I went to settings and changed back to Max security. After the cut scenes the trophies popped. Plat done. The game hadn’t saved while I was playing on easy for the final phase.
