Tales of Arise has 20 Gigant Locations (Elite Monsters). Finding and slaying all Gigants unlocks the Big Game Hunter trophy or achievement. They are large boss monsters that are stronger than normal monsters. They spawn at specific locations and some are part of specific Sub-Quests.
None of the Gigants are missable! You can still find and defeat all of them after the story in free-roam. You can go back to all of their places and also still find all their related Sub-Quests after the story. You can collect them in any order you like.
To keep track of how many you defeated, go to Menu > Field Guide > Play Records > Elite Monster Types Defeated. The ones in free roam have red icons on the map. If the red icon is gone from the map it means you defeated that one already. The ones that are tied to quests are always mandatory to finish the quest, so you can’t mess up anything. You can check your completed chests by pressing while not in combat. Thus you can check off which ones you already did and which ones you have left. Each Gigant also unlocks an Astral Flower, these give +10 CP per Gigant! CP is important to heal your team during battle and the more you have of it, the better.
Recommended Guide Use:
- Finish the Story first, defeat whatever Gigants you find along the way.
- After the story, use this guide to mop up what you have remaining. The reason being that most of the Gigant-related Sub-Quests are unavailable on 1st visit to the respective areas (backtracking is required). After the story, you will have access to all areas.

Great dragon can spawn without being in that quest. I just finished him and haven’t even been to that town yet nor do I have a quest for him as of yet.

Some of them can be encountered early during random encounters, while your battle chain meter is at lvl 5 (i.e. it turns into a blue meter that drains quickly, instead of the normal numbered orange meter).
