Wondering where to find the local saves of Starfield on PC? Here’s the solution.
Where to find Local Starfield Save Games
Starfield Saves are found under Local Disk (C:) / Users / Your User / Documents / My Games / Starfield / Saves.
To Back Up Saves: Copy everything from the Starfield “Saves” folder and paste it into another folder somewhere else. If you regularly want to make backups, create a desktop to the original saves folder and another to your backup folder and put the backups into subfolders. To save space you can compress the backups into a .zip file and extract it later if needed.
To Restore Saves: Simply copy the saves from your created backup folder and paste them back into Documents / My Games / Starfield / Saves.
The save files are named by type to differentiate them easily.
“Autosave” refers to the Autosave Slots, “Exitsave” is automatically created whenever you quit the game and should be your most recent save, “Quicksave” is the one Quicksave Slot, “Save#” are your Manual Saves in chronological order.
Where to find Starfield Steam Cloud Saves
If you have Cloud Saves enabled, Steam will create another local copy all your saves and sync them to Steam Online Cloud.
Starfield Cloud Saves are found under Local Disk (C:) / Program Files (x86) / Steam / userdata / click on your user number (different for everyone) / 1716740 > remote > Saves.
Deleting/Restoring the Cloud Saves will NOT change your in-game saves. They are just a copy of what Steam syncs. To make backups & restore you must use the local saves in Documents / My Games / Starfield / Saves (see above).
