Starfield How to Join Crimson Fleet Faction

Crimson Fleet is a Faction in Starfield that can be joined for the Rook Meets King Achievement. Here’s how to join the Crimson Fleet:

1. First you must join the UC Vanguard. They will send you on an undercover mission to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet to spy on them. See How to Join UC Vanguard.
2. Complete the first two UC Vanguard Faction Missions “Supra Et Ultra” > Grunt Work“. You get these automatically during the recruitment process of UC Vanguard.
3. After this you get the Crimson Fleet Faction Mission “Deep Cover“. Play this. It will automatically be in your quest log, track the objectives from there and everything will be marked. This will have you infiltrate the Crimson Fleet as an undercover agent to feed info back to the UC Vanguard.
4. Complete the follow-up quest “Rook Meets King“. It automatically starts after the previous quest. At the end you meet the leader of Crimson Fleet and you earn the achievement for joining them.

What does joining Crimson Fleet Do?

You can now dock at “The Key” (Crimson Fleet space station) in Star System: Kryx. You go there as part of joining Crimson Fleet. There you can sell smuggled contraband that other vendors wouldn’t accept.

The Crimson Fleet faction will no longer be hostile towards you and you can pass through the Kryx star system without being attacked by them.

Their ship technician also offers unique ship modifications, specifically the Scan Jammer to protect against police scans trying to find smuggled Contraband onboard your ship. They also sell Crimson Fleet specific ships, and if you steal a Crimson Fleet ship you can bring it back to The Key.

Crimson Fleet Questline

To complete the Crimson Fleet Questline complete all their remaining quests. All objectives are marked and you can use the scanner to see a line on the ground guiding you everywhere.

1. [UC Vanguard] Supra Et Ultra (accept to join the Vanguard when first talking to Commander Tuala during Main Mission 02: The Old Neighborhood in New Atlantis, or if you didn’t accept it you can track the Activity “Speak to Commander Tuala about joining the Vanguard” to do it later)
2. [UC Vanguard] Grunt Work (automatically starts after previous quest Supra Et Ultra) –> ACHIEVEMENT: Supra et Ultra
3. [Crimson Fleet] Deep Cover (automatically starts after UC Vanguard quest “Grunt Work”)
4. [Crimson Fleet] Rook Meets King (automatically starts after previous quest “Deep Cover”) –> ACHIEVEMENT: Rook Meets King
5. [Crimson Fleet] Burden of Proof (automatically starts after first Crimson Fleet quest “Deep Cover”)
6. [Crimson Fleet] Echoes of the Past (automatically starts after previous quest “Rook Meets King”)
7. [Crimson Fleet] Breaking the Bank (automatically starts after previous quest “Echoes of the Past”)
8. [Crimson Fleet] The Best There Is (automatically starts after previous quest “Breaking the Bank”) –> ACHIEVEMENT: The Best There Is
9. [Crimson Fleet] Absolute Power (automatically starts after previous quest “The Best There Is”)
10. [Crimson Fleet] Eye of the Storm (automatically starts after previous quest “Absolute Power”)
11. [Crimson Fleet] Legacy’s End (automatically starts after previous quest “Eye of the Storm”) –> ACHIEVEMENT: Legacy’s End
