Talk to Walter Stroud
For the start of the mission, head over and speak with Walter Stroud, who’s sitting just to the side of the artifact pedestal in the library.
Travel to Neon
He’s traveling with you to the city of Neon in the Volii system to work on procuring another artifact piece, so head there when you’re ready.
Talk to Walter Stroud
After landing Walter is waiting by the edge of the landing pad, so go speak with him first.
Check in at Stroud-Eklund HQ
You’ll first need to head into the city to Stroud-Ekland to speak with Issa, Walter’s partner. Follow the objectives until they direct you into the Trade Tower building, then to an elevator and take it up to Stroud-Eklund Corporate HQ.
Talk to Issa Eklund
Inside the building, follow Walter to speak with Issa.
Investigate the seller
Before the deal happens, you’re going to need to do some investigating. First, head into the Astral Lounge as it’s in the same building as Stroud-Eklund.
Head in and speak with the Bartender at the front. When asking about security he recommends the VIP area upstairs, which you need to pay a fee for. His first offers it for 4000 Credits, but you can pass a Persuasion check to know the price down to 1000 Credits (the amount Walter happened to give you prior).
Check the door controls
You’ll now need to head upstairs to the VIP lounge and take a look at the door controls. Follow the objective around to the room and hack the computer which will allow you to reprogram the door controls. If you’re totally out of digipicks you can purchase them at some of the shops in the main city area, like Newill’s Goods you go to in the other objective.
Investigate the seller
Next, you’re investigating who the seller is. Head across the main city area to Newill’s Goods and speak with James Newill to get some information. Here you can convince him to give you the info you need with a bribe or a Persuasion check.
Search the seller’s sleepcrate
He gives you the location of where the seller lives. Head over there and hack to the door to get inside, then interact with the computer and read all the text files to pull the info you need.
Talk to Walter Stroud
Once you’ve finished both objectives, head back to Straud-Eklund to meet up with Walter again.
Go to the Astral Lounge
With the deal ready to go through, head back into the Astral Lounge with Walter.
Talk to Walter Stroud
Speak with Walter inside.
Locate the seller
You now need to locate the seller to start the deal. Head up to near the bar, and on the right side you can find a man named Musgrove who has a case as Walter described. Speak with him and use the passphrase “Ramsay and Travers”.
Talk to Walter Stroud
With the seller spoken to, go back to the entrance and speak with Walter.
Negotiate for the artifact
You can now head back up to the VIP booth to start the deal. When you enter the room none of the choices actually matter, as all options eventually lead you to him taking the money Walter has, so respond how you like.
Head to the entrance
With the artifact in hand, head out of the room. You’ll immediately be stopped by a man from Slayton Aerospace, who seems to be the original owner of the artifact. In this dialogue, you have the option of talking him down with a Persuasion check, calling security on him, or attacking. Whichever option you pick won’t change what happens in the rest of the mission.
Talk to Issa Eklund
Issa stops you in the entrance to the lounge to let you know that Slayton has impounded your ship and put a bounty on your head, so you now need to deal with them before you can leave.
Go to Slayton Aerospace HQ
Head out of the lounge and into the elevator again, and take it to Slayton Aerospace.
Find a way to the next floor
Inside you have a couple of options, you can talk to the receptionist which allows you to try and Persuade to make an appointment, or immediately attack the Slayton employees. Attacking them accomplishes the same thing as you still need to go up the elevator to the same location, so entirely up to you whether you want to be that direct or sneaky.
If you Persuade the receptionist for a meeting or follow the other objective it will lead you to the elevator. If you go to the elevator immediately you’ll have to hack the controls in the room behind it which will allow you to use it, though this requires having your skill upgraded so that you can hack Expert level locks. Once you do any of the above and interact with the elevator you’ll head up.
Talk to Walter
You’ll be trapped in the elevator, before Issa patches in and opens the door for you.
Go to the next floor
Here you need to make your way through this floor to the marked exit to continue up to the executive level. It is possible to stealth through this area as Issa points out a route for you. If you follow her instructions exactly she’ll lead you through without being spotted, but if you are you’ll have to fight your way through the Slayton employees. If you do get caught, feel free to grab any items as you go, because while they’ll be marked as stolen it won’t affect companion opinions in this situation.
Climb the Trade Tower
Once you’ve reached the exit, head outside then follow the long sets of stairwells up to the very top, until you reach a door leading back into the building. There will be Slayton security out here, so if you made it through the prior section without fighting you’ll have to do it here anyway.
Confront Nicolaus Slayton
Back inside, follow the path to where you will encounter Nicolaus Slayton, who speaks to you from the floor above. You have a couple of options here for what to do. If you decide to attack him immediately, you’ll have to kill him, then fight your way out of the building to get back to your ship, which might not be ideal. If you choose just the talking options then he’ll agree to let you go, but then requests you deal with Musgrove.
If you talked him down, Musgrove is in the room behind him. Go in and speak with him, and decide his fate. What you choose doesn’t specifically matter for story purposes, but your Companions have different opinions depending on what you do (Sarah reacts negatively if you pick anything other than turning him in to the authorities for example).
Go to the ship
With everything dealt with one way or the other, you can make your way back out of the city to your ship.
Talk to Walter Stroud
In the ship Walter will automatically speak with your, and you can respond how you like.
Take off from Neon
Take off from Neon to complete this mission.
