Introduction
Welcome to the Star Wars Republic Commando Trophy Guide! This is a PS4 Remaster of the classic 2005 squad-based shooter with upscaled graphics. The game is a mix of traditional first-person shooting and a tactical element where you order your men to take up various positions, provide cover, blow up obstacles and follow various other commands. This is all tied up in a Star Wars-shaped bow as you command Delta Squad to complete important clandestine missions during the height of the Clone Wars.
The Platinum requires you to complete the game on Hard mode whilst accomplishing some miscellaneous tasks. There are no collectibles except enemy weapons, most or all of which you should naturally come across anyway. If you do miss some trophies, there’s a mission select option available after completing the game so it won’t take long to mop them up.
The game isn’t really difficult, with most of the challenge stemming from the game being a product of its time. This is namely a handful of harsh difficulty spikes on Hard mode, occasionally dodgy AI and particularly the control scheme. In fact, it is highly recommended to remap the configuration (available in the Main Menu > Options) to something resembling modern-day shooters. The following works well for those used to the standard COD layout:
Move:
Look:
Reload:
Jump:
Use:
Melee:
Cycle Detonators:
Cycle Visor Mode:
Fire:
Throw Detonator:
Zoom:
Crouch:
Unfortunately, there is no option to change Aim/Zoom from ‘Tap’ to ‘Hold’, but with this setup the game should be more than manageable. It’s also recommended to turn Helmet > OFF as this is purely a visual gimmick that does nothing but decrease your field of view.
Also note that you can make a Quicksave at any time by pressing the , which is extremely useful before you go for some of the miscellaneous trophies as you can immediately Quickload it if you fail by holding and pressing .
Step 1: Complete the game on Hard mode while picking up Miscellaneous Trophies
Before you start the game, from the Main Menu go to ‘Options’ then change the difficulty to ‘Hard’. Then work your way through the campaign and most of the miscellaneous trophies should come naturally. Try and get 100 melee kills out of the way early against weaker enemies and pick up all different enemy weapons (there are five). However, if you miss anything you can easily get them in Step 2.
Step 2: Clean up any remaining Trophies
Bump the difficulty down to Easy and use Mission Select to mop up any trophies still left. The most likely trophy still remaining is We got a nest here but this shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. Congratulations on your new Platinum!
Star Wars Republic Commando Trophy Guide
One of the Squad Earn all trophies |
Earn all other trophies in Star Wars Republic Commando to unlock Platinum.
Delta 62 Rendezvous with Delta 62 |
Story-related and cannot be missed.
This trophy will unlock during the first proper mission of the game (Campaign: Geonosis, Mission: Extreme Prejudice). |
Lack of bacta Revive a squad member |
During the game, your squad members will go down just like you do. You’ll know they’re down when their icon has a red flashing cross on it on your HUD. Run up to the downed member and hold the Use button for a few seconds until the circular bar fills up.
“This planet is rotten from the inside out” Complete Geonosis |
Story-related and cannot be missed.
This trophy will unlock at the end of the first Campaign upon completion of the ‘Infiltration of the Core Ship’ mission. |
Reinforce the Wookiees on Kashyyyk Complete Kashyyyk |
Story-related and cannot be missed.
This trophy will unlock at the end of the third Campaign upon completion of ‘The Final Strike’ mission. |
Aspirational goals Collect all enemy weapons |
There are five unique enemy weapons to collect in the game. When you kill certain enemies, they will drop their weapon and they’ll be glowing with a white outline on the ground. Walk over to them and press the Use button to pick them up. You can then equip them with .
Most weapons can be found consistently throughout the game, with the only rare one being the Concussion Rifle. Note that occasionally weapons will disappear when dropped by enemies, usually as a result of glitching through walls or the floor. If this happens, you can just carry on and get the weapon next time or you can reload your last save and try again. The Wookie Bowcaster and Wookie Guided Rocket Launcher found on Kashyyyk don’t count for this trophy, presumably because they are friendly weapons. 1) Geonosian Elite Beam Weapon This weapon is dropped by the Geonosian Elites, who are the stronger, flying ‘bug’ enemies. These annoying foes will fly around the area blasting you with a beam that can zap your health very quickly. Shoot one down and grab this weapon. They can be found throughout the game, but first encountered in the ‘Infiltrate the Droid Foundry’ mission of the Geonosis campaign. 2) Accelerated Charged Particle Array Gun Also known as the ‘Trandoshan Shotgun’, this is the most commonly-found enemy weapon in the game along with the Repeater. From the start of the RAS Prosecutor campaign through to the end of the game, Trandoshan grunts are everywhere. The ones holding this weapon can typically be found rushing towards you to blast you from close range so it would be almost impossible to miss this one. 3) Accelerated Charged Particle Repeater Gun Also known as the ‘Trandoshan Repeater’, this is another very common weapon first found in the ‘Attack of the Clones’ mission of the RAS Prosecutor campaign and throughout the rest of the game. It resembles a submachine gun and is found on the Trandoshan grunts who shoot you from medium range. Again, it’s very hard to miss this one. 4) LS-150 Heavy Accelerated Charged Particle Repeater Gun Also known as the ‘Trandoshan Heavy Repeater’, this is basically an LMG which is rarer than the other weapons above and carried by the Trandoshans wearing heavy armor, the first of which is in the ‘Rescue the Squad’ mission of the RAS Prosecutor campaign. The weapon is recognizable due to its minigun-like firing speed and is very useful for some of the tougher sections and enemies, so make sure to pick it up. 5) LJ-50 Concussion Rifle This is the rarest weapon in the game, carried only by a few enemies. The first chance to get this is at the end of the ‘Attack of the Clones’ mission when you have the ‘Advance to Hangar A’ objective. You’ll go down a linear tunnel and at the end of it will be an enemy with this weapon. Sev will say: “Watch it! They’ve got concussion rifles” when you see this enemy, so you know exactly which one it is. Pick this weapon up here because if you miss, there are only a couple of others in the game towards the end of the Kashyyyk campaign. |
Close and personal 100 melee kills |
Firstly, it’s recommended to remap the melee button to . Whether you do this or not, the method is the same. It’s better to focus on the weaker enemies like the Battle Droids and standard Geonosians (‘bugs’) as tougher enemies will kill you quickly at close range. Run up to an enemy and keep knifing it until it dies, which should be just one or two hits at full health. Try to work on this trophy earlier in the game as later on in the campaign you’ll need to be more tactical, keep your distance and use cover as you’ll face tougher enemies with more health. You can do this on your Hard playthrough, but if you’re still missing this trophy then load up any level on Easy difficulty and get melee kills while taking less damage.
Maximized potential Unlock all weapon attachments |
Story-related and cannot be missed.
There are only two weapon attachments to collect and both come during the first Campaign (Geonosis). You have to pick them up as an objective so you cannot miss this.
All aboard Complete RAS Prosecutor |
Story-related and cannot be missed.
This trophy will unlock at the end of the second Campaign upon completion of the ‘Saving the Ship’ mission. |
“We need a slicer. A good slicer…” Slice your first console |
Story-related and cannot be missed.
This trophy will unlock during the first proper mission of the game (Campaign: Geonosis, Mission: Extreme Prejudice). When you come across your second squad member (Fixer), you will be told to command him to splice a console to bypass a shield blocking your path. |
Squeaky-clean Visor cleaned 10 times |
This trophy will unlock automatically during your playthrough. Throughout the game, your visor will get naturally dirty from rain, enemy blood (from melee attacks) and your own blood if you’re shot. When your vision is impaired, a vertical blue line will move from right to left across your visor and clean it. This is automatic and cannot be done manually. This will unlock within the first few missions as it happens fairly regularly.
“He’s holding a thermal detonator” Hit 5 enemies with a single thermal detonator |
The best place to get this is during the Geonosis Campaign and the ‘Advance to the Core Ship’ mission. After going through the canyons, you’ll head into a bunker and start the ‘To Own The Skies’ sub-section of this mission. As soon as you head into the bunker, make a quicksave in case you mess up. Just in front of you, a group of eight Battle Droids will be walking by. Make sure you have a Thermal Detonator equipped (the ball-shaped standard grenade) and throw it in the middle of the droids and you should hit five. If not, reload your quicksave and try again.
“I really hate those Scavs” Fend off a scavenger droid |
Scavenger droids are first encountered at the start of the RAS Prosecutor campaign and there are many of them throughout the rest of the story. They are small, grey enemies that fly around and zap you with lightning and divebomb you when you shoot them.
To get this, run up to one as if you were going to melee it. It should attach to your visor and you’ll get a prompt to mash to pull it off. Do so and you’ll unlock this trophy. |
Was it red-red-green or red-green-red Blow 10 demolition charges |
Story-related and cannot be missed.
You will have to blow far more than 10 demolition charges in just the Geonosis campaign alone, so this is unmissable. After you meet your first squad member (Scorch), you can command him to blast away rocks, pillars, doors and other types of obstacles after a 10-second countdown. You can also plant the charges yourself if you need. It doesn’t matter how you do it, but just blow 10 of them to get this. |
“Hold onto your guts while I rip out theirs” Request a revive |
This trophy is practically unmissable since you’ll likely go down quite a few times on Hard. When you do, you’ll get three options: ‘Maintain Current Orders’, ‘Recall and Revive’ and ‘Reload Last Save Game’. Pick the middle option ‘Recall and Revive’.
Cadet Beat the game on Easy |
Story-related and cannot be missed. See Marshal Commander for more details.
Lieutenant Beat the game on Medium |
Story-related and cannot be missed. See Marshal Commander for more details.
Take offensive formation Get a kill while piloting a Walker |
Towards the end of the second campaign, RAS Prosecutor, in the ‘Saving the Ship’ mission, you’ll have to destroy the forcefields in three separate hangers. In the third and final one (the one after the hangar in which you found the speeder for That model is a death trap ), you’ll get a main objective to slice a panel in the far back corner from where you entered to raise a lift with the Walker on it. Once this is done, wait for the lift to rise and press the Use button underneath the Walker to get in it. You’ll have to destroy the forcefield generator with the Walker’s cannons, but first just shoot any of the Battle Droids in the hangar to get this. This is extremely hard to miss anyway as the Walker fires powerful rockets with a large blast radius.
Marshal Commander Beat the game on Hard |
Firstly, before you select ‘New Game’, make sure you select Options from the main menu and change the game difficulty to ‘Hard’. You can easily do this on your first playthrough as there are only a couple of difficulty spikes that might cause you trouble.
There are a few tips to make things easier:
Delta squad forming up Issue all squad commands at least once |
Towards the end of the first mission (Campaign: Geonosis, Mission: Extreme Prejudice), you’ll encounter the third and final squad member to complete your squad of four. You’ll get a tutorial about how to issue commands, which you do by holding the Use button and pressing the D-Pad. There are four options:
You can spam all four as soon as this is available to unlock this trophy quickly. |
Turret-ial Assault Eliminate 10 enemies with a gunship turret |
During the Geonosis Campaign (Mission: Advance to the Core Ship) you’ll come across a downed Republic gunship towards the beginning of the mission. You’ll recognize it because you’ll see a dead Clone Trooper hanging out of the side. Next to him is a large circular glass ball with a turret icon over it. Head over and press the Use button then kill 10 enemies. They’ll die almost instantly from the green laser and there is a long stream of enemies so you should have no trouble.
If you didn’t quite get enough kills, there is another opportunity later in this mission. After you emerge from the bunker where you have to shut the windows to keep the ‘bugs’ from coming in, you’ll emerge back in the canyons and find another gunship with a turret. |
We got a nest here Destroy all eggs before they hatch |
This is probably the most time-consuming miscellaneous trophy in the game. Firstly, you can attempt it on your Hard run but if you don’t get it, don’t waste time trying again and just mission select the ‘Infiltrate the Droid Foundry’ mission from the Geonosis campaign on Easy difficulty once you’ve finished your Hard playthrough. You’ll be burning a lot of your ammo on shooting eggs and have no squad immediately nearby for revives, meaning it can be quite difficult to take down the other enemies who attack you.
After you clear the open area at the start of this mission where you snipe the Geonosians on the bridge, you’ll go down a small tunnel and another Geonosian will come out of the wall and attack you. Kill him and go back to the open area or at least the tunnel connecting that area to the room you’re in and order your squad to ‘Secure the Area’ with Use button + . This is to keep them standing guard in one place and stop them charging ahead and disturbing the eggs in the next room. Make sure you make a Quicksave so you can immediately try again if you mess up. The next room is a large cave with a number of eggs, which are attached to both the floor and the ceiling. They are very easy to see and shoot from a distance, so progressing slowly and methodically is the trick. You have to get very close to the eggs to hatch them, so this isn’t as annoying as it may seem if you take your time. Also, don’t worry about the small insects who fire toxic goo at you who appear from the eggs as you shoot them; this doesn’t count as ‘hatching’ them. If you run out of ammo, you can swap to your pistol with as this has unlimited ammo. Be mindful that in the first room, there are eggs hidden from sight behind the ledge in front of you (where the bacta station is), so make sure you work your way around the left side of the room from where you enter to avoid potentially hatching an egg. At the end of the first room, there are some more eggs in the narrow corridor where you’re attacked by Geonosians. After that is the room with the jamming device objective and the last few eggs, which are located behind the rocks in the center of the room. Deal with the Geonosians first from the entrance to this chamber then shoot the eggs. If you don’t get the trophy here, then you inadvertently hatched one and will have to reload your Quicksave. |
“Sir, please make up your mind” Issue and cancel a command too quickly |
During the first mission, you are introduced to commanding your squad. When you’re moving around the map and see an icon (such as to splice a door, blow up an obstacle or even to fill up health at a station), press the Use button on the icon and then immediately use it again to cancel the order.
This doesn’t work for the general squad commands (accessed by holding the Use button and pressing the D-Pad), it has to be specific command in the environment. |
“Times have changed” Find the hidden lightsaber (in Rescue the Squad) |
In the ‘Rescue the Squad’ mission in the RAS Prosecutor campaign, in particular the ‘Alone’ sub-chapter, you’ll have an objective to ‘Find a way past the Trandoshan barricade’. When you come across a pile of rubble you can plant a charge on to clear the way, instead look right to see a vent you can crouch into. When in the vent, turn right again to find a clone trooper with a lightsaber next to his body. Walk up to it, some dialogue will play and you’ll get the trophy.
Friendliest fire Blow yourself up |
This can be done at the start of the game. Either throw a Thermal Detonator at your feet and stand on it, or stand in front of an orange explosive barrel and let it blow you up.
Consistently explosive Blow 10 explosive barrels |
Explosive barrels are littered throughout the game and look like orange lava lamps. There are way more than 10 in the first mission alone.
Never saw it coming Snipe down the ship on Geonosis |
Story-related and cannot be missed.
This trophy will unlock at the end of the first mission of the game (Campaign: Geonosis, Mission: Extreme Prejudice). After finding Sev the Sniper, you’ll go into a room and have to command him to take up a sniping position. Once he does, he’ll shoot the ship down. |
Shoot the big red spot Defeat the dwarf spider droid |
Story-related and cannot be missed.
The dwarf spider droid is a strong enemy which you’ll face a few of during the game. The first time is during the ‘Advance to the Core Ship’ mission in the Geonosis campaign. To defeat it, you need to shoot the glowing red spot between its two front legs in the center of the droid. On Hard difficulty, the droid will kill you quickly in a firefight so a good way to beat it is to constantly circle around it and let your squad do the work. If you’re constantly circling, it won’t be able to see you and shoot you, but it’ll only be concentrating on you leaving your squad free to take it down. |
Guerilla warfare Drop a droid dispenser on 4 enemies |
This trophy can be obtained in the ‘Infiltration of the Core Ship’ mission of the Geonosis campaign. As soon as you reunite with Sev, he will take out a Droideka and two more will roll by to the left. Make a quicksave ( ) and then take them out and equip your sniper ( ). Look to the end of this hallway to see a droid dispenser hanging above the hallway. A wave of battle droids will come around the corner, so quickly kill them and a second group will spawn.
It is this second group that stops and stands to fire at you directly under the dispenser, so shoot at the top of the dispenser where it’s attached to the ceiling to drop it onto the enemies. You should easily get the four kills as they’re grouped together, but just in case you don’t, load your Quicksave and try again. |
Watch your head Knock a droids head off with your melee attack |
This will almost certainly come naturally, especially when you’re going for 100 melee kills for Close and personal . In the first mission of the game (Campaign: Geonosis, Mission: Extreme Prejudice), the first enemies you’ll come across are Battle Droids. Run up to one, aim at the head and use a melee attack. It should knock its helmet off in one hit. There are tons of droids in the game so if it doesn’t work first try, you have many more opportunities.
That model is a death trap Find the speeder bike |
Towards the end of the second campaign, RAS Prosecutor, in the ‘Saving the Ship’ mission, you’ll have to destroy the forcefields in three separate hangers. In the second hangar (C), head to the far back corner from where you enter to find the back. You’ll know you’ve found it when your character comments on it over the radio. This pops the trophy, but if you want, you can slice the panel next to it and the speeder will power up, crash and destroy the droid dispenser in front of it.
“Can you die later, sir? It just isn’t a good time now.” Go down 10 times in one mission |
There is a chance you may earn this naturally on Hard anyway, but if not then just repeat what you did for Friendliest Fire in the first mission by blowing yourself up until you go down 10 times. |
BodyChipper says
I’ll give you a kudos for the guide, even though I’m sure others have used it. I just got around to playing this this past week.
I would say your comment about the final part of Geonosis being the hardest due to time is accurate. It took me quite a few tries there to get through the halls faster and get my squad members in the right positions for the final room.
Another tricky part of the game, while playing on hard, is that your squad mates just don’t seem to have very good AI at times. This will cause you problems, but just keep trying. I never played this game when it originally released, so I had no prior experience. By mapping the controls as you outlined I was able to get through it on hard in about 10 hours with only the nest trophy leftover.

So I started the game and changed it to hard at the start of the first mission. Am i ok to assume that if I beat the rest of the game on hard I’ll get the trophy for hard mode? I didn’t know to change difficulty before starting the game…
