SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake features 44 Costumes. Unlocking all Costumes is required for the Fashion Hunter trophy and achievement. Some Costumes are unlocked through story progress but most need to be bought from the shop. To buy a Costume, you must first unlock the tier it belongs to. There are 7 costume tiers in the shop, each of which can be unlocked after collecting the required amount of Coins.

Special Costumes (DLC)
- Jellybob (DLC costume, not needed for the trophy)
- Band Geeks Uniform (DLC costume, not needed for the trophy)

Campaign
- Spongebob: already available when you start the game.
- Wacky Child: already available when you start the game.
- Cowboy: unmissable, story-related unlock. You will unlock this costume right after talking to Kassandra for the first time in Bikini Bottom.
- Karatebob: unmissable, story-related. You will unlock this costume right after learning how to bubble surf.
- Pirate: unmissable, story-related. You will unlock this costume after completing Karate Downtown Bikini Bottom and talking to Kassandra.
- Employee of the Month: unmissable, story-related.
- Flower: unmissable, story-related. You will unlock this costume after completing Pirate Goo Lagoon and talking to Kassandra.
- Spongegar: unmissable, story-related. You will unlocks this costume after completing Halloween Rock Bottom and visiting SpongeBob’s house.
- Bard: unmissable, story-related. You will unlock this costume after completing Prehistoric Kelp Forest and talking to Kassandra.
- Dutchmanbob: for this costume, you must first finish the story. Once you have, load the checkpoint Kandyville in Halloween Rock Bottom and talk to the green pirate. To obtain this costume, you need to locate three Fake Flying Dutchmen.
- Fake Flying Dutchman 1: in Kandyville, follow the directions for Coin 2 until you see the conveyor belts on your right. Don’t go right, go left and you’ll find him behind the house.
- Fake Flying Dutchman 2: further on in the theatre temple section (Shadow Theatre checkpoint). Facing the theater temple, follow the rightmost cable until you get to a pipe with a boxer enemy inside. Behind this pipe is the fake clone.
- Fake Flying Dutchman 3: warp to Rock Bottom Museum checkpoint. Drop down, turn around and go behind the snail paintings.
- Fake Flying Dutchman 1: in Kandyville, follow the directions for Coin 2 until you see the conveyor belts on your right. Don’t go right, go left and you’ll find him behind the house.
- Rainbowbob: for this costume, you must first finish the story. Once you have, load the first checkpoint in Jelly Glove World and talk to the Glovey Glove at the start of the level. He wants you to complete three challenges, all marked by a flag icon, each of which will also give you a coin. The first one is opposite him, the second and third one are near the Central Plaza checkpoint. Complete all challenge, get the three coins and then return to him. As a final reward, he’ll give you this costume.
