Introduction
Welcome to the Sonic Origins Trophy Guide! This game features 4 classic sonic games from Sega consoles from the 1990s: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. Each with a selection of trophies specific to each game. The trophy list is very easy and quick and you can tackle them in any order you want. It can be made even easier with the use of level select and debug mode on all games apart from Sonic CD. Below the Roadmap is a list of how to activate these modes if you wish to use them, which is recommended for some trophies.
Step 1 – Complete all games on anniversary mode
Play through all games on anniversary mode, this will give you infinite lives and award you coins that you can spend in the museum for the respective trophies. You can use debug mode and super transformations (see note below Roadmap) if you want to beat each game extremely quickly.
Step 2 – Mission mode
Mission mode is very easy, for each game just simply complete the first mission 10 times, which takes any challenge out of this mode.
Step 3 – Museum and cleanup
After mission mode games there will only be some miscellaneous and maybe some enemy-related trophies remaining for you, use level select and debug mode to quickly clean these up, then buy everything that’s required from the museum, you will have enough coins by now.
Activating Level Select and Debug Mode
In Sonic 1-3 on the title screen for each game you can enter a level select code, different for each game. From here you can enter another code on the sound test to unlock the super transformations for each character, and another code that will unlock debug mode, these codes will trivialize every game apart from Sonic CD, which doesn’t have any cheat codes.
Level Select Codes:
Sonic 1 – Up, Down, Left, Right
Sonic 2 – Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right
Sonic 3 – Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up
Once this code is entered you’ll hear a chime, then pressing will bring you to the level select screen, apart from Sonic 3 where sound test is hidden below the competition option on the title screen. From here you can play sound tests in specific orders to unlock the super transformations and debug mode.
Super Transformation Unlock Code – Play sound tests 04, 01, 02, 06 in order and you will hear a chime, this code is the same across all 3 games, you can enter it twice on Sonic 3 only to unlock Hyper Sonic. In Sonic 1 you have to set Max Emeralds to 7 in the level selection screen in order to use Super Sonic.
Debug Mode Codes:
Sonic 1 – Play sound tests in this order 01, 09, 09, 01, 00, 06, 02, 03
Sonic 2 – Play sound tests in this order 01, 09, 09, 02, 01, 01, 02, 04
Sonic 3 – Play sound tests in this order 01, 09, 09, 04, 01, 00, 01, 08
Once entered correctly you will hear a chime, select any level and you can now use debug mode. To do so press and Sonic will turn in to a ring, pressing will cycle through items that can be spawned by using , press to come out of the debug mode. On Sonic 3 you enter and exit debug mode using ! You can spawn in any item, coins, powerup, enemy, even checkpoints and level end goals to completely trivialize the game and many of its trophies, use this as you wish to get the platinum very quickly.
