Introduction
Welcome to the Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered Trophy Guide! This is the 2024 Remaster of Shadows of the Damned, releasing on PS4, PS5, PC Steam, Xbox One, Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch. It adds New Game+ and several costumes, but unfortunately it didn’t fix the trophy issues that the original game had. You will need to complete the game 3 times on each of the default difficulties – Lemon Hunter, Demon Hunter and Legion Hunter – as the trophies for completing these difficulties will not stack. New Game+ doesn’t allow you to change difficulties either, so each playthrough will be without the benefits of NG+.
You will need to get all 80 upgrades, which can be done with Red Gems. These are found both in the levels and bought from the shop. One of the new costumes added with Hella Remastered – Demonio Garcia – doubles your attack power, so if you want an easier time with the game it is recommended that you equip this costume.
Step 1: Lemon Hunter, All Upgrades, Weapon Trophies
Lemon Hunter is Easy difficulty. It is recommended that you go for all 80 upgrades for High in Las Vegas during this playthrough, as the Red Gems that you purchase from the shop will be cheapest on this difficulty, at 45 White Gems a piece. There are several White Gem farming locations, as well a Red Gem dupe exploit, all of which can be utilized to get all upgrades easier. Refer to All Red Gem Locations Guide.
You will also want to work towards the various combat-related trophies. All weapons (except the starting two weapons) have trophies for getting a certain number of kills with them, as well as some miscellaneous combat trophies like 5 headshots in a row. Whenever you get a new weapon, it is recommended that you use that weapon exclusively until you get its respective trophy, as each weapon will get replaced when it gets upgraded later in the game. These are missable in each playthrough if you don’t get the kills before upgrading.
If after completing the game you haven’t gotten all 80 upgrades, you can go into New Game+ where all Red Gems will reappear. This will allow you to finish the upgrades, but unfortunately you cannot change difficulty with New Game+, so you cannot go into Demon Hunter and Legion Hunter with all upgrades already.
Step 2: Demon Hunter
Demon Hunter is Normal difficulty. This won’t be much different to Lemon Hunter. If you missed any combat-related trophies in your first playthrough, go for them now. It is recommended that you still collect Red Gems as upgrades are always beneficial.
Step 3: Legion Hunter
Legion Hunter is Hard difficulty. The main difference in difficulty is that enemies take more damage to kill and deal more damage to you, plus your alcohol won’t heal you as much. This is still very manageable, and if you wear the Demonio Garcia costume you will deal double damage, making everything easier. It is recommended that you still collect Red Gems as upgrades are always beneficial.

Adios George (Human form) Defeat George (Human form) |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. George (Human Form) is fought in Act 2-2: Cannibal Carnival. Around the area are Light Barrels that you can shoot to knock George over when he’s near them. When he’s on the ground, shoot him in the red core. After doing enough damage, George will steal the Goat Lamp and darkness will engulf the area. Look above the stalls to spot a red beam of light, this is where the Goat Lamp is located. Head towards it and shoot it with a Light Shot, then repeat these steps until George is defeated.
![]() |
Adios George (Beast form) Defeat George (Beast form) |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. George (Beast Form) is fought in Act 2-4: Riders of The Lost Heart. George will start the fight on a horse, with a red core weakspot on both his back and the belly of the horse. When he spawns darkness behind him, step into the darkness and shit the red core on his back to knock him over, then shoot the horse’s red core. After this, he will jump up onto the podium in the middle and rear up, exposing the horse’s core. Shoot it here, otherwise it will launch some airborne attacks at you. Repeat this process until the horse is defeated.
George will now evolve into a giant beast with red cores on his feet, arms and back. Shoot the cores on his feet to bring him to his knees, then shoot the cores on his back and arms. Repeat until all cores are destroyed, at which point he’ll summon darkness on the whole area. Red tendrils will spawn from his stomach, shoot these until he dies. |

Don’t Fear the Reaper 1 Defeat Maras Grim (of the Grim Sisters) |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Maras Grim is fought in Act 3-1: It’s a Bughunt. You won’t be able to hurt Maras initially, so dodge her scythe attacks until she spawns the darkness. At this point, she will have a red glow on her chest, so shoot her with a Light Shot to expose her core. Destroy her core and the darkness will dissipate. Repeat these steps until she dies, the fight won’t change at all.
![]() |
Don’t Fear the Reaper 2 Defeat Kauline Grim (of the Grim Sisters) |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Kauline Grim is fought in Act 3-3: As Evil As Dead. Kauline is very similar to Maras, in that she will attack with her scythe and won’t be able to be hurt until she spawns darkness. The main difference is once she spawns darkness, she will create multiple copies of herself in a semi-circle. Only one will be the real Kauline, indicated by the red glow on her chest. Shoot the correct one with the Light Shot to expose her core and destroy it. Each time she spawns darkness, she will create more copies than before, so you will need to be faster each time to spot the correct Kauline before she attacks you.
![]() |
Annoying Mosquito Defeat Elliot Beast Boss |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Elliot Beast is fought in Act 3-4: The Bird’s Nest. Elliot is a massive flying mosquito beast, who will attack you from either side of the bridge. Initially he will only attack by coming close and stabbing with his proboscis, which you can dodge, or by throwing red feathers at you that will spawn darkness. These can be destroyed by shooting them with a Light Shot. Shoot the red core on his chest until it’s destroyed and he’ll enter his second phase.
His weak spots will now be his wings, and he will do a few extra attacks: he can pick up a boulder and throw it at you, which you can stop by shooting the boulder. He can also launch a flock of birds at one of the spotlights, which will make it harder to spot Elliot, you can simply shoot the birds to uncover the spotlight. Deal with his attacks and shoot his wings until both are destroyed for his final phase. Elliot will join you on the bridge, and his weakspot will be hidden behind his feathers. Shoot him with a Light Shot to expose his red core. Try to keep your distance so he doesn’t attack you with his pounce and unload on his core. |
||

Don’t Fear the Reaper 3 Defeat Giltine Grim (of the Grim Sisters) |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Giltine Grim is fought in Act 4-3: Ghost Hunter. Much like the previous Grim Sisters, Giltine will throw scythes at you, but she will be wearing a red mask you will need to shoot. Once you break the mask, she will cover the area in darkness and spawn a few demons. During this she will a red core on her chest, so ignore the enemies and destroy the core. Repeat this a few times and she’ll be dead. If you unload the upgraded Teethgrinder on her throughout the fight you can effectively stunlock her as she won’t get a chance to attack between phases.
![]() |
Flat Lust Defeat Justine |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Justine is fought in Act 4-6: Justine For All. This fight is during one of the autoscroller chapters so it is quite different from every other boss. Justine will be shooting acid drips at you which can be avoided or shot. Initially she will be wearing a mask with 3 red weakspots, shoot these until they are destroyed. Her mask will now glow, so shoot it with the Light Shot ![]() |
||
![]() |
I Defeated the Last Big Boss! Defeat Fleming |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Fleming is fought in Act 5-4: The Final Chapter. Fleming has a few phases that are very similar. Initially he will only attack with a slam attack that you can dodge, or a melee attack if you get too close. He can also spawn darkness, in which case you can light up the Goat Lamp above him. Occasionally he will open his coat to reveal Julia, do not shoot her, as this will give you an instant game over. Shoot him in the head repeatedly until the crack in his armor glows yellow, at which point you need to shoot a bomb at hit with the Hot Boner and blow it up. His body will split into three pieces that will float around in a triangle, with one piece glowing red. Shoot the red piece until he reforms.
Now he will have a few new attacks, including a laser beam he can shoot at you, and a darkness hand he can launch at you. If the darkness hard grabs you, you will be transported into a dark realm where you can find 3 cracked doors that you can destroy with the Hot Boner, one will lead back to the fight so check them all. Damaging him is the same, so stun him and damage the floating body part after he splits. For the last phase, he will now also occasionally spawn a green forcefield around him. There are three holes in the field, so you will need to a launch a grenade with the Skullbuster into the forcefield to break it. Once you’ve stunned him and attack his last floating body part, he will explode and create a vortex for about 15 seconds, after which the fight will be over. |

Love Suicide Defeat Paula |
![]() |
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Paula is fought in Act 5-5: Til Death Do Us Part. As the fight begins, grab the eyeball and run to the door opposite next to the blue ammo crate. Use the eyeball on this door to open it. You will now have to fight Paula, her weakspots are her wings. Use the Dentist and let it lock onto her wings, then unload. She can use a whirlwind attack that will spin you around or a gust attack that will launch you into the air, but both can be dodged. Keep damaging her until you go through the door.
In the second phase, Paula will be flying through a cave with the darkness encroaching on you from behind. Keep up with her and lock onto her with the Dentist again. Occasionally she will spawn a demon that will drop a blue ammo crate, plus there will be ammo crates appearing along the way as you move, so keep stocked up and keep shooting her wings until the fight is over. |

Legion Hunter Complete all chapters as Legion Hunter |
![]() |
Legion Hunter is Hard difficulty. The differences here over Lemon/Demon Hunter is that enemies will deal more damage to you, take more damage to kill and your alcohol won’t heal you as much. Red Gems also cost significantly more to purchase, at 120 White Gems a piece. This isn’t much more difficult over the previous difficulties. It is worth collecting Red Gems as much as possible, as upgrading your weapons and health can be very beneficial. It is recommended that you focus on upgrading the damage for all three weapons, then capacity and lastly reload speed. Upgrading health will fully restore your health in the process, so you should keep some red gems on hand to upgrade your health whenever it is low to avoid using alcohol.
If you go into Costumes, you can wear the Demonio Garcia costume, which will double your attack power and make all the fights much easier. You can access Costumes by quitting to the Main Menu > Continue > select your current playthrough > Costumes. |

![]() |
Missable!
The Handgun refers to the Hot Boner, which you get after beating Maras Grim in Act 3-1: It’s a Bug Hunt. This version of the handgun won’t be replaced for the rest of the game, so you should easily get enough kills with it. Kills with the default handgun do not count towards the trophy. |

The Teethgrinder is the second machine gun upgrade and you will get this after beating Kauline Grim in Act 3-3: As Evil As Dead. You will need to get these kills before upgrading to the Dentist in Act 4-3: Ghost Hunter, so make sure to use this as much as possible until you get it. |

A Hole in your Head Perform 5 headshots in a row with your biggest gun. |
![]() |
Missable!
The biggest gun refers to The Big Boner, which is a setpiece weapon used in Act 4-1: The Big Boner. You will have 3 sections where you will need to protect 3-5 lanes where giant demons will be appearing and walking towards you. They will have big red cores on their faces, which will instantly kill them if shot. While the descriptions states you need 5 headshots in a row, you can miss shots in between, as long as you don’t hit an enemy anywhere else. You can also hit them anywhere in the head, it doesn’t have to be an instant kill to the red core. You will be killing a lot of giant demons during these sections and will always want to aim for the head, so it is highly likely you will get this naturally. |
||

Orthodontic Pleasures Defeat 50 enemies with THE DENTIST |
![]() |
Missable!
The Dentist is the final machine gun upgrade and you will get this after beating Giltine Grim in Act 4-3: Ghost Hunter. There are more than enough enemies through the rest of the game to get this, just make sure to use the Dentist as much as you can until you get it. |

The Skullblaster is the final shotgun upgrade and you will get this after beating Justine in Act 4-6: Justine For All. There are more than enough enemies through the rest of the game to get this, just make sure to use the Skullblaster as much as you can until you get it. |
||
![]() |
Nasty Headache Perform 5 Head Shots in a row with any weapon except the Big One. You know which. |
![]() |
Missable!
It is recommended that you turn off the Motion Sensor option before doing this, as it can be a bit difficult to hit the head with it enabled. This can be done with any weapon except the Big Boner, which is a setpiece weapon used in Act 4-1: The Big Boner. While the descriptions states you need 5 headshots in a row, you can miss shots in between, as long as you don’t hit an enemy anywhere else. Enemy movement can be a bit hard to predict so it’s best to aim near the top of the head, so that if they make a janky movement you’re less likely to hit below the head. There are plenty of locations in the game with enough enemies to do this, but there are two locations in particular that are best for it. The first location is in Act 3-2: My Dying Concubine, when you’re in the lake. Demons will spawn out of the lake infinitely until you leave, so you can keep trying until you get it. The second location is Act 3-3: As Evil As Dead, immediately after unlocking the Skullfest 9000. You will encounter 6 demons that are walking slowly, making them very predictable and easy to headshot. If you don’t get it, you can quit out and continue from checkpoint to try again. |

The Puppeteer Perform a Head Shot right after a Limb Mutilation when the enemy is flying back in the air |
![]() |
Missable!
Shooting the legs of a demon will destroy the limb and launch it backwards in the process. This can be a little difficult to do, so the best way to do it is by using one of the machine gun variants (Teether, Teethgrinder or The Dentist) and shooting them in the thigh to destroy the leg. Keep shooting and with any luck you will hit them in the head as they fly backwards. |
||
![]() |
Fire in the Hole! Defeat 3 enemies at once using the Explosive Barrels |
![]() |
Missable!
Explosive Barrels are barrels with beams of light piercing through them. Like any game, shooting them will cause an explosion, killing any regular demon or expelling the darkness on any darkness-covered demon. These can be found all throughout the game and there are plenty of opportunities to get this. The best spot to do this is in Act 2-3: What A Wonderful World, immediately after being introduced to the shop you will find a moving light called a Sushi Lamp. Following this will lead to 3 demons standing in from of some Explosive Barrels. When the Sushi Lamp gets close to them, they will jump backwards towards the barrels, giving you the perfect opportunity to shoot them. |

After defeating Maras Grim in Act 3-1: It’s a Bughunt, you will unlock the Hot Boner, the upgrade handgun. You will encounter 6 demons that are walking slowly, making them very easy to group up. Shoot a few bombs close together at their feet and shoot them to blow them all up. Red Gems from the shop will cost 45 White Gems on Lemon Hunter, 75 White Gems on Demon Hunter and 120 White Gems on Legion Hunter. There are also several White Gem farming locations and a Red Gem dupe exploit which will allow you to get all upgrades easier. Thank you for the trophy guide. I’m surprised you guys even covered this remaster, but I’m glad you did because I’m interested in playing this game eventually. However, I’m disappointed that you can’t change the difficulty in New Game Plus and that 3 playthroughs are required, when I would rather just play through the game twice for the Platinum trophy. Regardless, at least the Platinum trophy difficulty is still reasonable, especially with the costume that doubles your attack damage.
