Save Colqui is a Side Mission in Shadow of the Tomb Raider and the second one of Freedom mission line. This walkthrough shows how to complete this Quest.
Region: Paititi
Quest Giver: Poma
Requirement: Unlocked after finishing Free the Rebels Side Mission
Reward: None
Quest Location – Save Colqui
Just as the first part of the mission, you will start the quest by talking to Poma. This will happen automatically after freeing all the rebels in the previous mission and talking to him.
Objective – Find Colqui / Search the caverns
Head to the location marked on your map and enter the temple through the cave there in order to find Colqui. Finding him will not be what you might have thought it would be.
Objective – Survive the ambush
Colqui is very much alive and Poma knew about it. Poma betrayed you, as well as Colqui did. In a cutscene Colqui kills Poma since he doesn’t like traitors himself.
You will be ambushed by a group of enemies and will have to defeat them all, equipped only with a bow. This task isn’t particularly hard since the enemies will go down pretty fast. After defeating all of them, the mission will be completed and this time around you will not receive a reward for your effort.
This concludes the “Save Colqui” Side Mission in SOTTR. For all other side missions check out the full Shadow of the Tomb Raider Side Missions Walkthrough.

Wtf? Its pretty much impossible…. how many are there??? I must’ve killed 15 and they keep coming. Died 20 times already… extremely hard, extremely frustrating.

I totally agree it doesnt even give me credit for half that i killed i have to start over every time it insane every time i go in i get killed faster
Kayz says
F*ck this. This is ridiculous….
They’re coming at me with 6 at a time. This is only a side mission and it’s killing all the fun of the game. Insane.
What were the developers thinking ???
HamisH says
It was very easy for me. Just dodge and kill.

Too darn right. Those choppers kill me virtually first blow every time. I backed out and am doing other mission now to get a bit of endurance boost. When I go back I plan to just keep running a shooting those barrels.

LadySparta says
What difficulty are you guys playing on? Was pretty decent on normal.

I was confused with the whole interaction that happened between Poma and that guard who cut hit down. He said he offered him money (who?) and he was a Jaguar Warrior (Wtf?). So did Poma act as a double agent and still get killed or…? Then they ambushed Lara and I thought everybody in this bitch needs to die then because I don’t understand what’s happening.

Trust me, You are not alone, and i stopped careing from a long time ago about the story…

for anyone else who comes across this — traps are the name of the game. pull the first 2 guards into the narrow antichamber across from where you start. when they’re back there shoot the barrel to blow both up. then set a trap on one of them. go back out and lure the next set of guards back – blow them up. set another trap. rinse and repeat until you only have the 4 left upstairs, at which point you shouldn’t have any issues.
al says
fire arrows.

I’m on Normal and did it first try. Was doing some side quests of side quests and stumble onto this and bam cut scene and enemies charging… I’d imagine if you play with harder than Normal you must set traps and blow up barrels to win. Each charging guards takes 4-5 arrows to kill. I had 35 arrow quiver but had to made many on the run and looting off of them to finish.
The guards charge at you on straight line so if you’re calm enough you can bait them to charge you pass a barrel and blow that barrel up.

So far the game was pretty well smooth. Then this mission came around and suddenly it feels like a Dark Souls boss. I’m not exaggerating but I’m not good with the bow (actually hate using bows in games) however, I did some research and most players find a simple way by dodging and killing. Will try it and see how it goes…

I did not struggle at all on the hardest difficulty. It’s just a matter of dodging if they get close enough to melee, and obviously, blocking line of sight from the archers. The archers seemed to have terrible aim as well if I just kept moving around when I was in their LOS, or just dodging as they loose their arrows. I had the skill unlocked where you could lock onto three targets with the bow, so that allowed me to damage three people simultaneously. It’s an automatic headshot after locking on with that warrior skill.
I basically just ran around in a circle in that arena. There’s exploding barrels and you can also craft like a dozen smoke grenades for stealthier kills or to escape if overwhelmed. I was just confused because I randomly stumbled upon that area after taking a break from the game for about a week and came back not even remembering who Colqui was or why these guys ambushed me.
