In Saints Row (2022 Reboot) you must get the MDI-85 Carbine to complete the challenge “Take Care of Business” (defeat a Wrangler with the MDI-85 Carbine). However, unlike other weapons it can’t simply be bought from a shop. You must unlock it first. This guide shows how.
How to Unlock MDI-85 Carbine
You obtain the MDI-85 Carbine as a reward from finishing the 
Choplifting Side Hustle in Rojas Desert North. This is the location:
You can see it listed as a reward on the mission overlay when scrolling over the map icon (see right side of image above).
The Choplifting in Rojas Desert North isn’t available right away. You must first advance the story to unlock Choplifting Side Hustles. Then you must complete other Chopliftings to unlock the one in Rojas Desert North.
The ones required to unlock it are:
- Choplifting in Oldtown East
- Choplifting in West Flats
- Then you get the Choplifting in Rojas Desert North
You automatically get the MDI-85 Carbine after the Choplifting Side Hustle. You don’t need to do the optional objectives for it.
How to Equip MDI-85 Carbine
After unlocking it, you can equip it at any gun store or at the weapons locker in your Headquarters (HQ). You can then select it from the weapon wheel to do the challenges with it.
To do the challenge “Kill a Wrangler with the MDI-85 Carbine” you must defeat one of the Marshall enemies wearing a cowboy hat. They are the “special” enemies of the Marshall faction. The easiest option is to call the Marshall via Contacts app (this unlocks from building KAKTS Radio venture). Then it spawns all types of Marshall enemies.
