Saints Row How to Get MDI-77 Auto Rifle

In Saints Row (2022 Reboot) you must get the MDI-77 Auto Rifle for the Challenges “Arm Yourself” & “Fight Fire with Fire” (Obtain an MDI-77 Auto Rifle & Defeat 15 Marshalls with an MDI-77 Auto Rifle). However, unlike other weapons it can’t simply be bought from a shop. You must unlock it first. This guide shows how.

How to Unlock MDI-77 Auto Rifle

You get the MDI-77 Auto Rifle as a reward from finishing the  Choplifting Side Hustle in Badlands North. This is the location:

You can see it listed as a reward on the mission overlay when scrolling over the map icon (see right side of image above).

The Choplifting in Badlands north isn’t available right away. You must first advance the story to unlock Choplifting Side Hustles. Then you must complete other Chopliftings to unlock the one in Badlands North.

The ones required to unlock it are:

• Choplifting in Oldtown East
• Choplifting in West Flats
• Then you get the Choplifting in Badlands North

You automatically get the MDI-77 Auto Rifle after the Choplifting Side Hustle. You don’t need to do the optional objectives for it.

How to Equip MDI-77 Auto Rifle

After unlocking it, you can equip it at any gun store or at the weapons locker in your Headquarters (HQ). You can then select it from the weapon wheel to do the challenges with it.
