Game Info
Rise of the Rōnin is a new IP by team Ninja, the developers also known for Nioh, Ninja Gaiden, Wo Long and more. It’s an open world game, split into 3 main regions. There are 3 Chapters, each leading to a new main region. There are 2 factions in the game and you can choose which one to side with during the story. Luckily, nothing is missable thanks to a Mission Replay feature called “Testament of the Soul” in-game. There is still free-roam after the story and you can replay any mission to retroactively update your decisions and explore alternate story paths. The highest difficulty “Midnight” is unlocked after the story. You start with 3 difficulties unlocked. There is an easy difficulty called “Dawn”. In this game you also have up to 2 permanent allies with you on most missions, who can be revived if their health is depleted. There are 51 sub-regions, containing 750 Collectibles. For trophies you need all of some collectible types but not all of others, so 100% completion isn’t needed. The main missions are relatively linear with waypoints for everything. Expect a story-focused playthrough to last around 20 hours, and a 100% playthrough around 60 hours.
