In Resident Evil 8 VIllage (RE8) you can replay the game in New Game+ (“NG+”). However, unlike starting this from the Main Menu as you’d normally expect, the game handles this a bit differently.
- After beating the story you will be prompted to save your Completed Save Game. You have to choose Yes and save your game after the final boss. If you decline you would have to reload a previous Manual Save and replay the Final Boss again.
- From the Main Menu click “Load Game” and load your Completed Story Save. Select the difficulty for the next run and it will start New Game+.
This can be a bit confusing at first because the game doesn’t actually show anywhere you’re starting New Game+ and there’s nothing visibly different between New Game and New Game+ at first. But there’s a very huge difference: in New Game+ you get to keep everything from previous playthroughs, including your entire Inventory, Crafting Materials, Weapons, Weapon Upgrades, Lei (Money), Collectibles Progress, cooked Meals etc.
You will start out overpowered because you have all Endgame weapons directly available at the start of NG+. This helps a lot when attempting to do Speedruns or playing through the highest difficulty. Why am I missing all my items after starting new game plus. I started the game and I got to the part where the old man hands you the lemi, but it was missing rigut after I only had the knife. I went to try to get the shotgun. But the shotgun wasn’t on the table either. I don’t know what’s going on I started it over 3 times I still have my money and files and everything but all the items in my suitcase are completely missing. Did I do something wrong? I can’t pass the lycan invasion with only a knife. It’s hard enough to kill one with a knife how am I supposed to kill multiple ones

I had the same issue. And my suitcase is tiny – I’m not able to buy any upgrades from Duke either on NG+

You have to load up your completed saved story and it will reset the story but with the same guns

NG+ is broken, i selected the completed story save file, went from casual to standard, and i didn’t get the lemi at all, i started with just the knife, i could pick up the shotgun (that i have infinite ammo on) but without any of the upgrades, my suitecase is also really small again, i played all the way till you get duke in the safe room in the castle and still nothing, none of my guns, none of the upgrades, i do have my brought recipes and the ethan stat upgrades (as in they are marked completed but i noticed nothing about it because my health was absolutely destroyed in 3/4 hits) but nothing else. I really hope this gets fixed soon, because this doesn’t make playing NG+ any fun.

I’m having the exact same issue, the stuff I got in casual came back for the standard play through, then after I beat standard and went to do the challenges on casual, my stuff was gone and I’m also stuck with the knife. I’m really pissed and this needs to be fixed now!
