Resident Evil 8 Village How to Get Dungeon Treasure (Castle Dimitrescu)

The Dungeon Coffin Puzzle in Resident Evil 8 Village takes place at Castle Dimitrescu, Dungeon area. This is a side room behind a locked gate in the dark dungeon. Through the gate you can see a coffin or sarcophagus which clearly has a treasure in it. This guide shows how to open the gate and solve the dungeon puzzle.

A little backtracking is required for this one. You cannot get it when you first reach this place. Instead, you must continue the story until you get the Iron Insigna Key (an automatic story item), then roam back to the dungeon to open the gate.

Solution

Step 1: You cannot open the gate on the first visit to the dungeon, it requires the Iron Insigna Key. This is an automatic story item that cannot be missed. You get it in the Opera Hall (from inside the Piano) quite a bit later in Castle Dimitrescu. Once you got the Iron Insignia Key you must backtrack to the Dungeon where you saw the gate. Use the key to enter.

Step 2: On the left side of the treasure coffin room there’s a cracked wall. Throw a pipe bomb at it to blow up the wall. You can find a Pipe Bomb in the same room, on the right side. This reveals a torch behind the wall.

Step 3: Shoot the left Brazier into the torch. This will light it up.

Step 4: Shoot both of the hanging Braziers to make them swing into each other. This will set the second Brazier on fire. After both Braziers are lit the spikes around the Coffin go away. Now you can open the coffin to extract the treasure.

This gives you the Azure Eye treasure, which you can combine with the Silver Ring from the Hall of Pleasure on the 2nd floor. This gives you the Azure Eye Ring, an even more valuable treasure. Sell it to the Duke Merchant for 12,000 Lei.
