Resident Evil 8 Village (RE8) has eight marked treasure chests on the map. This guide shows where to find all treasures and how to get them. Treasures chests are marked on the map by the Duke before you go to get the second flask during the story (though one can be obtained before then). Treasures contain either a weapon or a treasure item that can be sold to the Duke for a large amount of Lei. With the exception of Beneviento’s Treasure you can still get all of them during later Village Visits before the point of no return (Factory).
Locations
Treasures are listed in the order in which they can be obtained during the story. Aside from Beneviento’s Treasure they can all be obtained before going to the Factory which is the point of no return.
Luiza’s Heirloom
- Location: Chest in front of Luiza’s house
- Reward: Necklace Stone (8000 Lei), Cesare’s Goblet (19,000 Lei)
This is the first treasure that can be obtained after you return from Castle Dimetrescu. Go back over to Luiza’s house through the Fallow Plot area and there will be a chest sitting on the front steps of the house that contains Luiza’s Necklace.
You now want to inspect this item in the Key Items section of the inventory. The first time you inspect it you will obtain the Necklace Stone which is a treasure you can sell, then inspect it once more to obtain Luiza’s Key.
This key can be used on a chest located in the first room to the left going back along the path to the Ritual Site, which allows you to obtain Cesare’s Goblet.
Beneviento’s Treasure
WARNING: THIS TREASURE IS MISSABLE!
- Location: Graveyard before the door you go through leading to Beneviento House
- Reward: Berengario’s Chalice (18,000 Lei)
This treasure can be obtained AFTER you get the flask from Beneviento house. Before being able to get the treasure you first need to grab the Headstone Slab located in a crypt in the Graveyard area in front of the gate leading to Castle Dimetresu. This item is MISSABLE because the crypt closes later in the playthrough and can’t be obtained anymore, so grab it as soon as possible.
With the headstone piece in hand, you can go back to the graveyard area in front of the door leading to House Beneviento. When you return there will be a large axe-wielding miniboss you need to deal with. Kill it, then interact with the coffin on the ground and place the Headstone Slab in the spot to open the coffin, allowing you to obtain Berengario’s Chalice.
Waterwheel Weapon
- Location: Building with locked Iron Insignia Key door in East Old Town
- Reward: GM 79 Grenade Launcher / 20,000 Lei if you already picked up the weapon
When going to Moreau’s area you can now get back to this building with the locked door. Simply use the Iron Insignia key on the door to open it, where you can then pick up the GM 79 Grenade Launcher or 20,000 Lei if you are in a new playthrough and already obtained the weapon.
Maestro’s Collection
- Location: Luthier’s House in West Old Town
- Reward: Steel Hraesvelgr (14,000 Lei), F2 Rifle – High Capacity Mag. weapon part / 10,000 Lei if you already pick up this weapon part
When going to the house with the read chimney during the story you may have noticed this house with a locked door. When coming back from House Beneviento you can pick up the Luthier’s Key from the Gardener’s House. Return here and use it on the door, then check the cabinet in the back where you can enter the code 270917 to open it. Inside you can find the Steel Hraesvelgr treasure item and the F2 Rifle – High Capacity Mag. weapon part, or 10,000 Lei if you already obtained the weapon part.
Moreau’s Hidden Weapon
- Location: House at the end of crank locked door in Moreau’s Lab area
- Reward: M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum weapon / 30,000 Lei if you already picked up the weapon
After defeating Moreau and making your way back to the village, you can now use the crank on the door leading to Moreau’s “laboratory”. In the building at the end, you can crouch through a hole in the wall and obtain the M1851 Wolfsbane weapon from the chest or 30,000 Lei if you already obtained this weapon.
Riverbank Treasure House
- Location: Treasure room under castle reached using boat from Lone Road bridge
- Reward: Golden Lady Statue (20,000 Lei)
After returning from Moreau’s area you now have a crank and a boat key, which allows you to lower the bridge in the Lone Road area, then use the boat located at the dock. Take the boat north up the river to reach another dock. Here you can lower a bridge that gets you back to the area you first were in after leaving Castle Dimetrescu, or to an area under the castle. Here there are two puzzles you need to complete to obtain the treasure. First, shoot the torch in the middle towards the two torches on the outside to light them, which opens the two doors on the sides of the room.
The second, shoot the torch to make it hit the Moroaica that will spawn out of the one door, and while it’s on fire lead it over to the torch in the other room to light it on fire, opening the door in at the end.
With the door open you can go through and grab the Golden Lady Statue.
Cannibal’s Plunder
- Location: Otto’s Mill after the miniboss in the locked room
- Reward: Father Nichola’s Angel (22,000 Lei)
In Otto’s Mill, you will find an axe-wielding miniboss guarding a locked door. Once you get through the door you find a room full of assorted meat, then in the next hallway, you can find a chest that contains Father Nicola’s Angel.
Treasure Under the Stronghold
Location: Next room after obtaining the fourth flask
Reward: Guglielmo’s Plate (25,000 Lei)
During the story, you go through the Stronghold to obtain the fourth flask. In the immediately next room after the flask, you can pick up Guglielmo’s Plate to the left.
