Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 9 contains 29 Collectible Locations. This walkthrough will guide you to all collectibles in chronological order. Everything that’s needed for trophies, achievements and 100% completion is included: Treasures, Castellans, Merchant Requests, Recipes, Weapons, Weapon Parts, Chapter-Specific Trophies & Achievements.
All Collectibles except Treasures Progress carry over into New Game Plus. There is no Chapter Select or Free-Roam after the story, but you can get missing collectibles in New Game Plus. All Treasures must be found in a single playthrough to unlock their trophies. Some collectibles can’t be reached on the first visit, those must be collected during later chapters when you have the necessary key items.
Collectible Progress can be tracked in the Challenges Menu. Treasure Progress shows on the world map after buying the treasure map from the merchant. It’s highly recommended to collect everything at the first opportunity outlined here, areas gradually become inaccessible when advancing the story.
Chapter 9
Objective: Head for the ballroom
Castellan 9
In the northwest corner of the maze.
Treasure: Elegant Chessboard
In the east of the maze.
Treasure: Depraved Idol
After solving the maze, exit through the gate in the west and BACKTRACK to Wine Cellar. There’s a treasure behind a locked door you couldn’t get in Chapter 8. Now you can boost up Ashley to the gap above the door to get it. This is one of the most highly missable treasures in the game, in later Chapters you can no longer get it, you have to backtrack for it now.
Treasure: Alexandrite
After exiting the maze through the east gate it’s in the next corridor (“Grand Hall”), shoot the lantern in the hand of the statue on the right.
Shooting Range (2A, 2B, 2C)
In the typewriter save room after the maze, enter the elevator next to the merchant. Must get S rank on all 3 new shooting range challenges here, they count towards Real Deadeye trophy. However, you will still need another Shooting Range found later in the game so can’t earn the trophy yet.
Merchant Request: Destroy the Blue Medallions 4
In the same typewriter save room with merchant, on table with the typewriter. Must destroy 6 Medallions, their locations are listed below individually.
Blue Medallion 1
Backtrack a little bit to the gate to the maze. Before going back to the Maze the medallion is found on the wall on the side.
Blue Medallion 2
In Grand Hall, behind the Headless Statue (which is a story objective).
Merchant Request: More Pest Control
On the wall left of the Headless Statue. Must defeat 3 rats. These will be listed below when we get to them.
Rat 1
In the Dining Hall, runs around the dining hall.
Key Item: Serpent Head
In Dining Hall, must sit at the tables displayed on the portraits of the king and queen and ring the bell. Order Ashley to sit down at the queen’s dining place. See locations below. Ashley must sit at the 2nd chair on right, Leon at last chair on left.
Blue Medallion 3
In the Dining Hall, hangs from the last window behind the curtain.
Blue Medallion 4
Go back to Grand Hall and upstairs. Shoot the medallion on the chandelier.
Key Item: Small Key
Now enter the room upstairs in the north. Open the cabinet on the left for a Small Key, needed for a treasure.
Blue Medallion 5
In Armory, upstairs, hanging above throne.
Key Item: Lion Head
Inside Armory on Lion Statue.
Cubic Device (needed for treasures)
In the corridor after exiting Armory, in a chest. This doesn’t count as a treasure itself but you need it to open the treasure shrines throughout Castle.
Rat 2
In the same corridor after exiting Armory. (Note: Rat 3 will be found in Chapter 10 and isn’t accessible during Chapter 9)
Blue Medallion 6
Enter the last room upstairs to reach “Gallery”. In the Gallery you find this hanging at the end of the path behind a pillar.
Treasure: Yellow Diamond
In the Gallery, climb up the ladder and pull the lever where the summoner enemy was. This reveals the treasure chest in the middle of the room.
Key Item: Goat Head
In Gallery go up the stairs on the side, then across the platform over treasure chest. Don’t place the 3 heads on the headless statue yet, doing so would skip to a new section. We need to backtrack for some other collectibles first.
Treasure: Butterfly Lamp
Before placing the 3 heads on headless statue, go back to the merchant in Grand Hall. Now you can use the Cubic Device on the Square Lock Box there.
Treasure: Justitia Statue
From same room, go through the door next to merchant and use the golden Gondola. You will arrive near Water Hall, from there backtrack to Audience Chamber. Now that we have the Cubic Device and Small Key, we can get the 2 Treasures that weren’t available in Chapter 7. Open the Square Lock Box for one treasure.
Treasure: Gold Bar
Same place, open the Locked Drawer in Audience Hall with the Small Key we found earlier.
Objective: Rescue Leon
Key Item: Bunch of Keys
Backtrack to Grand Hall, place the 3 heads on the headless statue, a cutscene will trigger and you will play as Ashley in the library. In the south of the library, place the lantern on the pedestal to reveal a hidden staircase, go up those stairs to find the key.
Treasure: Elegant Perfume Bottle
As Ashley in the library. Crouch under the hole in the bookshelves to reach it. Use the 2nd key from the left to open it.
Treasure: Sapphire
From previous treasure, go to the north of the library and use 3rd key on the door and activate the elevator. This takes you upstairs to a typewriter save room. On the right of the room is a chest, use 4th key to open.
Treasure: Emerald
Next to the typewriter solve the clock puzzle by entering the correct time: 11:04 on Assisted / Normal or 7:00 on Hardcore / Professional. Backtrack to the room before the library where you find a clock puzzle on a door. Enter the time again there (11:04 / 7.00). Behind this door go down the path and use the elevator to reach the Mausoleum. Pull the 4 strings under the 4 symbols to open the door. Behind the door on the right is the treasure. Use 1st key to open it.
Key Item: Salazar Family Insignia
Still in same area, keep following the path in the Mausoleum until you reach a lamp puzzle. You must place the lamps on the correct pedestal. Each lamp projects a certain shape onto the wall. You can simply switch out the lamp in your hand with the one from a pedestal and move the around. Solution: Left = Half-Moon / Right = Star / Top = Full Moon. You must insert it in the typewriter save room above the library.
That’s 100% of the collectibles in Chapter 9 of Resident Evil 4 Remake (RE4).
Next Up: Chapter 10 Collectibles

What about the Elegant Crown to the left of the golden gondola? Does that count towards treasures because it’s not listed here.
PowerPyx says
I believe that’s from the Deluxe Edition Treasure Map DLC? This treasure doesn’t exist in the Standard version. It definitely isn’t required for trophies/achievements and doesn’t count as a treasure. I never had that spawn in my game (I used the Standard Edition).
Bustylo says
Are you able to grab the treasures from when you play as Ashley later in the play through?
PowerPyx says
No. They are only accessible during Ashley’s section. You can’t collect them as Leon.
Gary S says
Correct me if i’m wrong, easiest way to know which treasure is needed for trophies/achievements – with the treasure map purchased for the respective location from the merchant, all standard treasure is indicated by a diamond symbol. This treasure is tied to trophies/achievements. Any diamond symbols with a plus(+) sign is deluxe content treasure, and is not needed for trophies/achievements.
PowerPyx says
Correct.

Thanks for the guide and screenshots.
Would be helpful to have a running count of treasures at the end of each chapter here. e.g. “End of ch. 9 – Treasure count 19/41”, “End of ch. 10 – Treasure count 25/41” etc.
I’ve been following your collectables walkthrough to get the trophies/challenges and had to go back to ch 9 from ch 12 because i realized i only had 39/41 trophies collected. Luckily I also followed earlier advice on aaving each chapter in a different slot, so going back was no big issue. Just means I have to best salazar again 🙂
