Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 1 contains 15 Collectible Locations. This walkthrough will guide you to all collectibles in chronological order. Everything that’s needed for trophies, achievements and 100% completion is included: Treasures, Castellans, Merchant Requests, Recipes, Weapons, Weapon Parts, Chapter-Specific Trophies & Achievements.
All Collectibles except Treasures Progress carry over into New Game Plus. There is no Chapter Select or Free-Roam after the story, but you can get missing collectibles in New Game Plus. All Treasures must be found in a single playthrough to unlock their trophies. Some collectibles can’t be reached on the first visit, those must be collected during later chapters when you have the necessary key items.
Collectible Progress can be tracked in the Challenges Menu. Treasure Progress shows on the world map after buying the treasure map from the merchant. It’s highly recommended to collect everything at the first opportunity outlined here, areas gradually become inaccessible when advancing the story.
Chapter 1
Objective: Head for the Lake
Weapon: W-870 Shotgun
In the Village Square after you first encounter a chainsaw-wielding enemy, in the big house on the left. Shotgun hangs on the wall upstairs.
Treasure: Velvet Blue
To the right of the W-870 Shotgun slash the window with your knife until it breaks. Then climb through to the rooftop, turn right to find this treasure on the roof.
Treasure: Ruby
In the village after you first encounter a chainsaw-wielding enemy, in the last shed on the left of the village, before the gate where the chainsaw enemy spawned from.
(Note: The Chainsaw enemy can also drop an Emerald but it doesn’t count towards the 39 Treasures in Village. None of the ones dropped from enemies count as Collectibles. There can also be random gemstones in destructible chests but those don’t count towards Collectibles either)
Treasure: Pearl Pendant
On the left side of the Farm, shoot the silver container hanging off the windmill. Try to shoot it when it is not above the well to avoid the treasure getting dirty, this allows you to sell it for more money later but it counts as a Collectible either way.
Merchant Request: Destroy the Blue Medallions
At the end of the Farm area, pick up the blue leaflet on the wall before the closed gate. This request requires shooting the 5 Blue Medallions in the farm area (locations below). Rewards you with 3x Spinel which can be traded at the merchant later for items.
Blue Medallion 1
In the Farm area, hanging on the corner of the building that has a typewriter save point in it. Shoot to destroy.
Blue Medallion 2
In the farm area, inside the barn where the cows stand. Can shoot it through the window or from inside the barn.
Blue Medallion 3
In the little hut on the left side of the farm.
Blue Medallion 4
In the Farm area, shoot it through the upstairs window of the big barn on the right.
Blue Medallion 5
In the right corner of the Farm, stand to the right of the Shrine and shoot it through the fence. It’s hanging from a balcony on the windmill.
Treasure: Flagon
Climb up in the windmill, then jump down the balcony on the side of the windmill to get behind the wooden fence below. There’s a treasure chest at the end of the fence.
Treasure: Ruby
After picking up the Flagon, shoot the lock on the door to enter the big barn. Find this Ruby in the corner. Also pick up the Kitchen Knife & Wooden Cog in the same room.
Key Item: Wooden Cog & Weapon: Kitchen Knife
Both found in the same room as the previous Ruby. With these items you can climb back up the windmill and use the Cog on the wall there to open the gate.
Castellan 1
In the next big area called “Lakeside Settlement” on the map (another big enemy encounter with dynamite throwers). In the house in the middle where a dynamite thrower is in, it’s sitting on the broken roof. You can climb through the window into the house, from inside the house look up at the roof. The Castellan also makes a distinct sound so you can also hear it.
That’s 100% of the collectibles in Chapter 1 of Resident Evil 4 Remake (RE4).
