Introduction
Welcome to the Resident Evil 2 Remake Trophy Guide! The waiting is finally over. After receiving the remake of the first Resident Evil game in 2002 and wishful thinking of a remake for the beloved 2nd part of the series, our prayers have finally been answered. Just like in the case of the first remake, this game isn’t simply just a remaster but more of a reimagination of the original.
Just as the original PS1 game this remake offers a scenario for both Leon and Claire as well as a second scenario for each of them after finishing the game. To unlock Leon B you will have to finish Claire A and to Unlock Claire B you need to finish Leon A. To see the real ending you will have to play through either character’s B scenario. While the first remake chose to keep the fixed camera angles, REmake 2 chose the 3rd person – over the shoulder perspective familiar from Resident Evil 4. Another feature new to REmake 2 is self-defense items, which made their debut in the first remake. While being grabbed by the enemy you can use those to avoid taking damage and you will have a chance to damage an enemy instead.
In order to unlock the platinum you can expect 6+ playthroughs of the game. Because each of the 4 campaigns (Leon A, Leon B, Claire A, Claire B) has different collectibles you have to play through them all. You can try to get S-Ranks on the 2nd-4th playthrough. Then you need 2 more playthroughs on Hardcore. Add another playthrough to cleanup the remaining trophies on easier difficulty, in case some of the trophies are still needed.
Step 1: Finishing the game with each Character, All Collectibles, Combat-based Trophies
Start with Leon’s campaign on Assisted Difficulty and pick up all Collectibles as you play. Follow the Resident Evil 2 Remake Collectible Locations Guide, this all-in-one guide has everything in chronological order. The reason Assisted Difficulty is recommended is that there’s a huge enemy, the “Tyrant”, constantly chasing after you halfway through the game. On Normal he walks much faster. On Assisted he walks very slow, which gives you time to look around for Collectibles and just get to know the game.
If you don’t mind spoilers you could try getting the boss fight-based trophies. While Gotcha! can be achieved with both Leon and Claire, In the Blink of an Eye can only be achieved with Leon and With Time to Spare only with Claire.
After you finished Leon’s A scenario, go to the main menu and select “New Game” to play Claire’s A Scenario and get her Collectibles. After her playthrough, you can go to the title menu again and choose “New Game [2nd Run]” to play Leon’s B Scenario. Lastly, do Claire’s B Scenario. The B Scenarios have different puzzle solutions so refer to the Resident Evil 2 Remake Puzzle Solutions Guide if you get stuck at any point. Ideally, try to combine this with Step 2 of the Roadmap and attempt S-Ranks on Normal difficulty during your B Scenario playthroughs.
Finding all Collectibles (the Mr. Raccoons in particular) gives you a knife that never breaks, which can be quite helpful in subsequent playthroughs and for Hardcore difficulty. That’s why you should get the Collectibles first to make things easier later on.
Step 2: Getting the S-Ranks (Standard Difficulty) – Unlocks Infinite Ammo Handgun
In order to achieve an S-rank the only thing you will have to look at is your completion time. To get an S-rank you will have to finish the game in the following time on Standard difficulty:
- Leon A / Claire A – 3:30 on Standard, 2:30 on Hardcore
- Leon B / Claire B – 3:00 on Standard, 2:00 on Hardcore
Please note that the S-Rank trophies won’t unlock on easy (Assisted difficulty). It has to be Standard difficulty or above. When you pause the game it stops the timer. If you know your way around the game, these time requirements shouldn’t be a problem. You will unlock an infinite ammo Samurai Edge handgun for reaching your first S-rank which you can use on your second character run as well as for the hardcore runs! This is why you should definitely do S-Ranks before attempting Hardcore cause you get a free infinite ammo handgun to be used on Hardcore. It makes things much easier for you.
Step 3: Hardcore Difficulty
Once you know the game well, and unlocked the infinite ammo handgun from getting S-Rank on normal, it will be time to tackle the hardcore difficulty. You will have to finish the game on this difficulty with both characters. Check Hardcore Rookie / Hardcore College Student for some life-saving tips on how to tackle this madness.
Step 4: 4th Survivor
You must finish the 4th Survivor bonus game mode once. Refer to “Grim Reaper” for a walkthrough.

Broken Umbrella Witness the true ending. |
||
In order to witness the true ending you will have finish the B-scenario of Leon or Claire (here called 2nd run). After beating the game once you unlock “New Game [2nd Run]” in the title menu, that’s the B-scenario! Beating this 2nd run mode unlocks the special ending, doesn’t matter if you take Leon or Claire.
Leon’s A-Scenario unlocks Claire’s B-Scenario and Claire’s A-Scenario unlocks Leon’s B-Scenario. |
||
The Basics of Survival Combine two items together. |
||
You will receive this trophy automatically very early in the game, it’s story-related and unmissable. You are forced to combine key items throughout the story as well as for your best interest by combing herbs / ammunition etc. You can do this in the inventory by selecting two compatible items.
Hip to Add Squares Increase your inventory slots. |
||
You will be able to increase your inventory six times during the game by finding hip pouches. For the inventory slot upgrades refer to the Collectible Guide:
Customizer Customize a weapon. |
||
You will be able to find weapon parts for your weapons during your playthrough, for example in safes (which are mandatory for the collectible trophies). This trophy will unlock when you combine them with your weapon. For example, there’s a weapon part in the locked desk of the West Office (1st Floor Police Station). The combination to the desk is Left = NED / Right = MRG.
Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Gun Defeat an enemy with a knife. |
||
You will unlock a knife early in the game. Kill an enemy with it by holding and slicing with :r2:. Your knife, however, will get damaged and can break. Don’t worry though, as you will find a lot of them in the game.
Eat This! Counterattack with a sub-weapon. |
||
While having a knife, grenade or a flash grenade in your inventory you will have a chance to counter your enemy by pressing .
That’ll Hold ‘Em Use Wooden Boards to board up a window. |
||
In the Police Station you can find a few Wooden Boards and use them to barricade a window. You will see them easily and shouldn’t worry about missing it, as they are in the middle the path.
Vermin Extermination Destroy a Mr. Raccoon. |
||
See Complete Vermin Extermination for the locations.
A Vault-like Mind Open a portable safe. |
||
You can find 2 portable safes in the game. One of them is located in the “Shower Room”, the other one in “Linen Room” (both in the police station). In order to unlock them you will have to press the 8 buttons on it in the right order. The order is randomized for every player.

Bon Appétit Shoot the grenade you fed to an enemy. |
||
While countering your enemy with and having a grenade / flash grenade equipped, you will feed it to an enemy. The enemy will stagger for a while with the grenade in their mouth. Simply shoot it. If you didn’t get it from natural gameplay on your first playthrough, it can quickly be done at the start of the B-Scenario (2nd run) of both Leon / Claire. In the first room you enter is a grenade, only a few seconds after starting the B-Scenario Story. |
||
Zombie Roundup Kill 3 enemies at once with a sub-weapon. |
||
Throw a frag grenade in a group of 3 or more zombies. It will instantly kill them and unlock the trophy. If you didn’t get it from natural gameplay on your first playthrough, it can quickly be done at the start of the B-Scenario (2nd run) of both Leon / Claire. In the first room you enter is a grenade, only a few seconds after starting the B-Scenario Story. |
||
Like Skeet Shooting Shoot a zombie dog or a licker out of the air. |
||
This is far more easily done with Zombie Dogs than Lickers. In Leon’s campaign you encounter dogs in the Parking Garage after turning on the power. In Claire’s campaign you encounter them on the way to the Orphanage after exiting the Parking Garage. When you see a zombie dog, keep your weapon aimed in its direction (preferably shotgun or a submachine gun) and wait for it to jump at you. The chance is high you will get it without trying. |
||
Keep Their Heads Ringin’ Paralyze a licker’s sense of hearing. |
||
Simply throw a flash grenade at a licker. For example, you will encounter a Licker in the corridor leading to the S.T.A.R.S. Office on the 2nd floor of the Police Station (and a flash grenade is inside the S.T.A.R.S. Office so it’s a perfect opportunity to get this early on). Lickers are the enemies that crawl up walls and attack with sharp claws and whip around their long tongues. |
||
Hats Off! Shoot Tyrant’s hat off his head. |
||
After extinguishing the fire on the rooftop of the Police Station (halfway through the story with either Leon /Claire), you will encounter the Tyrant. “Tyrant” (also known as Mr. X) will start chasing your throughout the police station. Simply shoot his hat off for the trophy. You can’t kill him, only stagger so don’t waste your time and ammunition. |
||
Gotcha! Defeat Stage 2 G using the crane only once. |
||
This is highly missable! Make sure to save the game after placing all chess-figure plugs in the Sewer’s Monitor Room. At the end of the sewer section you will encounter G for the second time. First, you will be attacked by him in a burning room. Place yourself next to the “high voltage box” between the metal shutter and the switchbox and he won’t be able to hit you there. Once you reach a platform with a container, press the red button in order to send the container away. Damage G with everything you got. There’s no clear health indicator so just blast away all your ammo on him. When you are close to running out of ammo, stagger him and press the red button on the control panel to call the container back. It will hit G and knock him into the abyss. The trophy only unlocks if he’s defeated when calling back the Crane for the first time. If he doesn’t fall, it means you didn’t damage him enough, in which case just quit to main menu and continue or reload the last manual save. Don’t stand in the middle of the platform since the container can hit you as well. If in doubt, bringing G to his knees 5 times should be sufficient damage to make him fall in the first Crane use. |
||
Treasure Hunter Using the photo hints, find 2 hidden items. |
||
You will first have to find the film roll for this. You can find it on a table in the Workroom in the sewers. Use the T-Bar Handle to open the Valve in the Lower Waterway (Lower Sewers), which leads to the Workroom Lift. Take the lift up and you’ll find the film roll on a table there. Keep going through the Worker’s Break Room and you will be able to backtrack all the way to the Police Station. Head to the Dark Room to develop the film and you will receive 2 pictures of where to find hidden items. Those places are Press Room (Police Station 1F) and S.T.A.R.S Office (Police Station 2F). |
||
A Waist of Space Expand inventory slots to max. |
||
You must find six inventory upgrades for this. Refer to the Collectible Guide for all of them.
One Slick Super-spy Use only the EMF Visualizer to complete Ada’s gameplay segment. |
||
This can only be done in Leon’s campaign! Make a manual save after defeating the crocodile in the sewers with Leon. You will have to finish Ada’s part without using her handgun to get this trophy. You will have to hack some consoles with her Visualizer instead. She will automatically equip it and you can see hackable devices through walls in yellow color. You can hack them by holding . |
||
Young Escapee Escape the bedroom within 60 seconds during Sherry’s segment. |
||
*Highly Missable* This can only be done in Claire’s campaign! Make a manual save before the electric parts puzzle in Chief Iron’s “Private Collection Room” (just after returning from the Clocktower). When Sherry’s gameplay sequence starts: Turn right, get the stuffed animal, examine its back to find a block. Place the block in the corner of the room to start a puzzle. Now comes the tricky part! The starting arrangement of the puzzle blocks is randomized for every player. However, what the final arrangement needs to look like will always be the same. Check the image below what it’s supposed to look like in the end: Now the good news! You can take your time to figure out how to solve your puzzle in the fewest move. The goal is simply to replicate the block positions in the above picture. Write down which starting block you moved where. This will likely take you longer than 60 seconds on first try and thus void the trophy, but there’s a workaround: Quit to the main menu, click Continue. Now you respawn in Sherry’s room and the timer resets to zero but the Puzzle Solution is still the same! When you do the continue “trick” it doesn’t randomize the puzzle so your previous solution will still work. Redo it as quickly as possible and as often as possible until you memorized the solution that applies to you. The puzzle rewards you with scissors that can be used to cut a hole in the wall and escape, at which time the trophy is supposed to pop. If no trophy pops it means took more than 60 seconds. So just quit to main menu again and continue, repeat until you can pull off the puzzle fast enough and earned the trophy. |
||
With Time to Spare Defeat Stage 4 G with 4+ minutes left until detonation. |
||
This can only be done in Claire’s story! 4G is the final boss in Claire’s story. You will have 10 minutes to escape and kill the boss. Use your hardest hitting weapons and this shouldn’t be a problem. Claire gets a minigun for this fight which kills the boss quickly. |
||
In the Blink of an Eye Defeat Super Tyrant with 5+ minutes left until detonation. |
||
This can only be done in Leon’s story! Super Tyrant is the final boss in Leon’s Story. You will have 10 minutes to escape and kill the boss. Use your hardest hitting weapons and this shouldn’t be a problem. You will receive a rocket launcher to finish him off after dealing enough damage. |

Sizzling Scarlet Hero Complete Claire’s story on “Standard” or “Hardcore” with an S rank. |
||
In order to get S-Rank you must beat the game within the following time frames:
The only factor that determines your rank is how long it took you to beat the story. Nothing else matters (deaths, number of saves are irrelevant for it). You can pause the game to stop the timer if you want to take a break or look at the video walkthrough where to go next. Warning: If you die, never choose “Continue” as it keeps counting your time and doesn’t reset it to the last checkpoint! Always choose “Quit” and from the Title Menu pick “Continue” or Load Save. This way it will revert the time back to last checkpoint. This can save you lots of time and makes this tremendously easier! If you followed the Roadmap and got all Collectibles in Leon’s A-Scenario, you still got to play through the remaining 3 campaigns for their collectibles. You can actually try going for the S-Ranks at the same time to cut down on number of playthroughs for the platinum. 3 hours is very lenient, I did it in 2 hours on my first B-Scenario attempt while looking for Collectibles. Doing it in the A-Scenario gives you even more time and is easier. Keep in mind you must play on Standard difficulty for this! It won’t give the trophy on easy (assisted) difficulty! The video above is a full S-Rank playthrough in which also the trophy “A Small Carbon Footprint” was earned. |
||
Hardcore Rookie Complete Leon’s story on “Hardcore” game mode. |
||
See “Hardcore College Student” trophy just below.
Hardcore College Student Complete Claire’s story on “Hardcore” game mode. |
||
Hardcore difficulty will be your hardest task on your way to platinum. On hard difficulty the enemies are a lot tougher, you will be in Danger-Status after one hit and die after a second one and you will need to find Ink Ribbons in order to save your progress. Some tips on how to tackle the difficulty:
|
||
Frugalist Complete the game without using a recovery item. |
||
To make the trophy as easy as possible wait for it to be one of your last and play on Assisted difficulty. Use some weapon with infinite ammo (infinite handgun is from getting S-Rank on Standard), save a lot and focus only on items you need to progress the game. To get the trophy, beat the game without using a single healing item. Luckily though, your health automatically regenerates to 50% on Assisted Difficulty so it’s not as bad as it sounds. On Assisted you can take about 3 hits at 50% health.
Minimalist Clear the game without opening the item box. |
||
Grab the six Inventory Upgrades throughout the game and you shouldn’t have a problem with this once you know what to grab and where to go. Do keep in mind that you can’t use infinite ammo weapons on this playthrough because they can only be retrieved from the item box. It would be best to pair it with one of your collectible runs on Assisted difficulty.
A Small Carbon Footprint Take 14000 steps or fewer in one playthrough. |
||
You can check your steps at the very bottom of the records section while pausing the game. The record for it is called “A Small Carbon Footprint”, just like the trophy title. Perform a speedrun of the game and only focus on things you need. Simply said: avoid steps you don’t need to take. The above video walkthrough shows how to obtain the trophy. The B-scenarios are shorter but it is totally doable in the A-scenario as well. It’s best to pair this with the Frugalist trophy. After unlocking the Infinite Ammo Handgun (from S-Ranking Standard Difficulty) your best option would be to speedrun a B Scenario with infinite ammo. |
||
Grim Reaper Complete “The 4th Survivor” extra mode. |
||
This one will test your patience, skill in the game and your luck. In 4th survivor you play as Hunk and have to make your way through the sewers all the way back to the main entrance of the Police Station while obviously having to take the long way each time since your usual fastest way is somehow blocked. You start with 4 weapons, some ammo and a few healing items as well as some defensive items and gun powder. In the video above you will see how I managed to finish it, but let me explain why I did some actions which might not be obvious at first:

James K says
How does hardcore compare to say Madhouse on RE7? Nothing else looks too crazy.
Joe domiano says
Ive completed everything in RE7 and unlocked all unlockables. RE7 i remember was very doable after you learn certain tricks or methods for dealing with bosses. This game is no different. If you go in blind thinking you can run a S+ hardcore claire run, you’ll be in trouble. But if you play through on standard first, make notes on the order of key items, you can easily get this done. Always keep health items and defensive sub items on you at all times. All it takes is one bite to slow your progress. Also note, Claire is much harder than Leon since she doesnt have a method of instant killing zombies. Leons shotgun can permanently kill a zombie with 1 headshot.
steven says
i know this is a odd place to put it but i wanted it recognized and uploaded by someone with time, the last fight for claire is the same as leons its time based, you will always have enough ammo unless you intentionally waste it to get G into his crawling stage, at that stage he takes damage just from moving and will eventually kill himself, i discovered this when i actually ran out on hardcore and after 2 minutes of him crawling he just died.
Seleo says
6/10 with the infinite ammo gun or 6/10 without the infinite ammo gun?
PowerPyx says
With infinite ammo. Also, don’t forget 4th Survivor mode.
Fatos says
Does playthrough A count as one playthrough of do you have to complete A and B to count as one ?
PowerPyx says
Playthrough “A” counts as one for the purpose of S Rank trophy and Hardcore trophy. You don’t need to beat A+B (only one of the two).
Roseo says
Great man.
If Pause the game, the time for Rank S continue count?
KILLaH2030 says
as for me it freezed in Claire standard mode and i have got an S+ rank with it but use it if you forget something and want to remember it because if you open your inventory it will count the time for you but if you pause the game using the Option Button it will freeze the time and you can see in the right upper corner how much time you spent, so use this beautiful method as you like if i’m not wrong
ImAPirateSoSueMe says
So what’s the deal with 4th Survivor? Is it time limited or?
KILLaH2030 says
nope it has no time but it will count the time it takes to complete it so feel free and don’t rush out because you have a limited amount of ammo so choose wisely when you approach the enemies either if you want to kill them or just shot their legs to stun them and run past them and enjoy
Linkdevivo says
Hey man, great guide as always! Just wanted to say that in the road map you don’t specify in what playthrough you advise to do the minimalist and frugalist trophies. In what part is it better to tackle these trophies?
PowerPyx says
Minimalist you can do on any playthrough. I did it on first playthrough but it’s easier on the 2nd or 3rd when you know inventory upgrade locations by heart.
For Frugalist, either do your 2nd collectible playthrough on Assisted and combine it with this trophy (but you won’t have infinite ammo yet and can’t earn S Rank trophies on assisted) OR do an extra run after you get all other trophies (easier and only takes 1h to speedrun assisted difficulty with infinite ammo).
Tom says
Hey quick question. I just saw your Survivor S+ rank and that was amazing. I am totally going to use that video when i do my first Run as Claire so i can get the Infinite Ammo. My question is When you pause the game from what i saw at the end and your timer does that count towards your time or does pausing the game stop the timer for the time being? I was wondering because since your video was very informative i wanted to see if i could pause between segments and see how you worked so i could almost copycat yours in order to run through it since the way you had it stacked was great for ammo and health.
Lee says
Pausing the game stops the timer but looking at your inventory and files etc does.
FierceViper82 says
Looks an awesome guide as usual
Quink says
Will you do a leon s rank video?
DK says
Was thinkin about it, but the runs are like 90% identical, so I don’t see a point there. The only differences are placement of some enemies, Ada part instead of Sherry and the last boss.
Deanbeansean says
So can we use the same video he did for claire’s run?
Riv1404 says
Frugalist
Can i use blue herbs to clean poison? it will not block trophy?
PowerPyx says
Good question, this needs confirmation. I do think it counts as a healing item so just use knife / grenade to counter the monsters in sewers. Then you won’t get poisoned and won’t have to use blue herb.
Riv1404 says
On assisted difficulty poison will fall of, if you wait for some time.
Fer says
I just got Frugalist trophy (and Minimalist too same run) and I can confirm using BLUE herbs do NOT count as heal items.
Once I got poisoned I was waiting for the poison to go away. As it didn’t happen I used a blue herb (only one during the run) and trophy (both) popped up credits 🙂
Roy says
If you are not sure you can always pause the game and keep track of the “achivement list” (or record? sorry I am not playing with the English version so not sure about the correct name), which shows how many times you use a heal item (under Frugalist)
Bub63664 says
Thanks for the guide. Love it. I am curious how I get back to the special weapons case in the underground facility as Claire though. I do have S.T.A.R.S. Badge already. Just not sure how I get back to it.
DK says
You can head back there through the sewers, through the Workers Break Room. You can push a shelf out of the way and there’s a shortcut there taking you aaaallll the way to the Police Station.
Dirk says
Click on the badge to make the USB end retract then try again.
tidus19841984 says
Will you do a leon s rank video (on b szenario)?
Deanbeansean says
Can i use your claire’s s+ run video on leon run?? Or is there something changed?
PowerPyx says
Claire’s campaign is 90% identical to Leon’s. Only some enemy spawns are different and she takes a different route in parking garage section (also she has the Sherry Sequence while Leon has Ada & they have a different endboss). The differences are very small though. Out of the 2 hours maybe 15 minutes of gameplay will differ.
VB says
Hey man awesome guide, not sure yet if I want to platinum this one so I have a question, if I want to see the entire story would you say doing Leon A and then Claire B be enough?
PowerPyx says
If you just want to experience the story then Leon A / Claire B will show you pretty much everything.
Daniel says
You need the Two Infinite Ammo Guns for the All Weapon Trophy? Or just the Weapons in the base game?
PowerPyx says
There is no trophy for all weapons…
Gio says
Can i keep saving different runs on the same file? I think i can.
TachiLord says
You have 20 save slots share across all playthroughs. It’s also worth noting that records / challenges are saved separately and automatically. Thus you can complete one and reload ur save right away.
Hawkwind666 says
Hi PowerPyx. I just wanted to share my experience with the Frugalist achievement for not using any health items. I found it pretty easy to do during my first story run as Claire on Assisted. Doing it as Claire is easier as she gets a minigun for her final boss. This makes her final boss much easier to defeat without using health items compared to Leon’s final boss.
TachiLord says
+1, I got the no item box and no healing trophy during my first Claire A easy mode run. She has a way easier time staying at full hp due to her weapon and story differences. Highly recommended this method to reduce number of playthroughs needed, even though the game is nearly petfect.
TachiLord says
Getting S rank on hardcore mode (2:30 A route, 2 hours B route) will unlocks the infinite SMG, which will make the other hardcore run easier.
But do note that beating hardcore mode within the S rank time while saving 3 times or less and not using infnite weapons will give you the S+ rank. Leon’s S+ gives infinite rpg and clarie’s gives infinite minigun. Enjoy the extra firepower.
Icefrost says
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts that standard Leon a s+ 3 saves gives the rocket launcher just did it got s+ but didn’t get the rocket launcher didn’t use any unlimited ammo guns either is this only on hardcore clears to get the rocket launcher?
Fabrizio says
I’m trying to do the S rank with Claire, i’m following your beautiful video guide (as always) i’m just wondering, does the amount of saving i do affect the S rank? Or does it depends ONLY to finish the game in the time requested? (I’v already saved 8 times). Thanks!
Roy says
No.
Saving only affects S+. which requires you to save not more than 3 times
Joshua says
currently on my first playthrough (Leon A) and i am right at the end.
have i missed the “treasure hunter” trophy? i’ve got the film, however i have not gone back..is it something i can do on LEON B or CLAIRE A or B??
Roy says
If you are already at NEST, you cannot go back. But yes you can do it on other walkthroughs or load earlier saves
.ski says
hey! Seems rankning works a bit different and time isn’t the only determining factor, saw a video on youtube of a guy doing a knife only run in over 1h, using infinite knife on assisted difficulty, 2 saves and gets an S+ at the end. Hmmmm
Jayden says
Saving less gives you an S+ rank as well as time. Every other rank is time determined
Roy says
Infinite knife is usable. But none of other infinite weapons is allowed
Borntokill81 says
One slick super-Spy trophy can be earned only in LEON A campaign or also in LEON B?
James K says
Either/or. The only difference is the order you get items and solutions of puzzles, the story is exactly the same
Skittles says
There is actually a visual indicator you can use for the Gotcha! trophy: the big eyeball on G’s shoulder. When the eyeball turns orange, G’s health is low enough for the crane to knock him down instantly. I found this out from a comment on your video guide for the trophy and have verified it myself.
Thank you for the trophy roadmap btw!
Roy says
If you are too nervous to check the status of his eye. Two kneels are also enough to make sure he will not come back
Nax says
Hey guys, I was wondering if the nightmare dificulty trophies can be earned during the B runs of Leon and Clare? Also are B runs harder than A?
James K says
I’m not affiliated with PP, but you can use either A or B runs to get the hardcore trophies.
I haven’t gotten to the B campaign’s yet, but I think they are more varied in puzzles than in difficulty. In fact, I think the speedruns / steps trophies are easier in B than A.
Hellgate79 says
Can you add a guide for all the challenges?i know that you don’t get any trophies for doing them all but i’m trying to unlock everything.
ObservadorPt says
Hi
Powerpyx i can get a S rank on hardcore with the infinite ammo pistol or it reduces to an A?
ObservadorPt says
I mean standard using infinite ammo to get an S or i get only an A. Because if i can get an S with infinite ammo i do a speed run with leon is what i got left to get an S.
ObservadorPt says
Ok, i have taken a shot and i have done a speed run with my infinite samurai edge and got a S.
a little girl says
You can get S rank with any infinite ammo weapon, but you can only get S+ with the infinite knife, no other infinite weapons.
Delaila says
Does your Claire A speedrun/S rank video include all of the collectibles as well? Or do I need to look at both guides to kill 2 birds with 1 stone?
Delaila Lugo says
It does not
Deathwing says
You can use the Infinite Knife to get an S+ Rank, I just confirmed it.
Omakez says
hey guys, im going with more then 14000 steps and finished the game but i don’t get a trophy. Any one know why?
PowerPyx says
It has to be less than 14,000 not more than 14,000.
Omakez says
Ohhh thats rigth. Thaks só much
AnxietyDriven says
Just to let you guys know, for Carbon Footprint, Zooming in with your gun while standing still counts as a step.
Anti-Xbot says
OH, seriously!?
What the… that seems to be an oversight on Capcom’s part, or maybe intentional?
That’s really dumb, though.
P.S.4Lyfe says
I’m NOT 100% sure if this will work, but I saw someone on Twitch do this for the trophy “GOTCHA!”.
When you down G2 Birkin, doesn’t matter if it’s the first down, if you hit the crane button and time it so it is close to hitting him, you throw a flashbang at him JUST before he is about to get up, you should get the trophy.
That way, you don’t have to waste as much ammo reducing his health to minimum.
I hope that makes sense? Basically, you injure him until he falls down, throw flashbang just before the crane hits him, and it should pop the trophy (you save ammo that way).
Mahmoud kamel says
I think I tried this but didn’t work
Jay says
Ive noticed in the record section that A rank on standard unlocks a game mode. I already have 4th survivor and tofu survivor. What secret mode is this? I cant find it anywhere??
Anti-Xbot says
You get new characters in Tofu mode.
I can’t remember if you get any bonuses if you beat Tofu Survivor with those new characters, though.
Romeo says
I missed a file in Leon B, do i have to finish B all over again or can i just get to the file and quit?
Anti-Xbot says
I think you can just get it and quit the game. Why?
Because as soon as you get a file/Mr. Raccoon, I noticed the game auto-saves.
a little girl says
Thank goodness S+ Hardcore B scenarios aren’t required because the time limit is a little maddening
Martin says
Do you need to get S+ or just S to get the Endless Submachine Gun & Rocket Launcher?
Mike says
I just finished Leon A can you do the New Game (2nd Run) and then go do Claire A or does doing that erase all your progress with the collectibles?
Roy says
No, collectibles record saves seperately
EAK says
If i die in assisted difficult, is this affect the trophy ( complete the game without using healing item )?
Roy says
No.
Zaz says
Guys I need help. I have obtained all the trophies but my last platinum trophy did not get unlock. I am playing it on xbox one.
Charles Bloomer says
Seriously? You wont get the Platinum Trophy, or any other Trophy, by playing on Xbox One! You’ll get Achievements. lol
Drex says
How is the new dlc to unlock everything from the beginning going to affect the trophy guide?
Mahmoud kamel says
I’m at the final boss fight with Claire, with only 25 bullets of handgun and the minigun
Is this enough to kill him or am I screwed?
Mahmoud kamel says
Never mind
The freaking KNIFE got the job done!
This was UNREAL
ShubSachdeva says
Hi. Can someone accurately tell me if using infinite weapons will disable my s+ rank? I’m trying to complete hardcore Leon B run with s+ rank to get infinite minigun for hardcore Claire B run.
geg says
Yes. it will invalidate
Radvy says
I have a question dlc for plantinum is necessary or not please answer me?
PowerPyx says
No, DLC is never needed for platinum in any game. Same here, no DLC needed.
Peter Wilson says
Just about to start the game. Going for another platinum. So If I start with Leon a campaign, which is the best guide to use for full walkthrough collection weapons trophies I can get on first run? Thanks
Shiya says
How many playthroughs would it be if I bought the ‘all rewards unlocked’ DLC?
Wesker says
Then you will still need at least 4 playthroughs since you have to complete A- and B-scenario on Leon AND Claire in order to get all trophies.
Wesker says
Thanks for this guide. I earned the platin trophy after 26 hours.
The only thing I would add is this: you can easily get platin in 4 runs. 5 or even 6 runs are not necessary.
I did it in these 4 steps:
1. Leon A Assisted – casual play just to enjoy the story and to get comfortable with the gameplay – pickup of all collectibles. Also get all of the easy-to-get trophies like killing 3 zombies with one grenade etc.
2. Claire A Assisted – get “Minimalist” and “Frugalist” in this run, it is not very hard on assisted. You only need the (not upgraded) grenade launcher (on Assisted you will get more than enough grenade launcher ammo) and the pistol for this (no need to get the UZI or the other pistol). Remember that you CANNOT discard some items, such as weapon upgrades, so it’s best not to collect them at all, you don’t need them and they only use space in your inventory – pickup of all collectibles – get the Claire exclusive trophies like the one with the Sherry puzzle.
3. Leon B Hardcore – use a speedrun guide to get the S+ ranking for the Infinite Rocket Launcher (I can recommend the “Everyman´s guide Leon B” from the Youtuber “Darkness” for this) – from here on, there are very few collectibles to pick up, and they cost you almost no time.
4. Claire B Hardcore – felt like a walk in the park, thanks to the rocket launcher. Also, get “Small Carbon Footprint” in this run, if not already collected in step 3. Since you do not need to get any weapon, you will save a lot of unnecessary steps.
Don´t try to get the Samurai Edge with a normal s rank run: it´s not worth it since you will get the infinite rocket launcher in the Leon B S+ run (and you can´t use the samurai edge for this run anyway; otherwise, you won’t get S+).
I’m absolutely not a trophy hunter, and I usually don’t care about platinum, but RE2 is definitely one of my favorite games, and earning platinum there was a lot of fun 🙂
Nifty says
4th survivor looks ridiculous! Haha. In my opinion, the earlier RE games are more a test of memory than anything else. I get lost all the time! :D
Marcus says
Simply an excellent guide, as always. Thanks so much PP, lease keep them coming XD
