Remnant 2 contains 11 Archetypes, each of which is unlocked by returning a specific item called Engram at Wallace’s at Ward 13. Here’s a list of all Archetypes and how to obtain the item you need to unlock them.
1. Alchemist
While traversing the slums of Losomn, you might randomly be snatched by a wolf-looking creature near broken drains. These drains resemble the ordinary ones in Losomn, but one grate is pulled outward, creating a small gap. In co-op mode, if either player gets snatched, the other one must let himself get killed. In order to get the item needed to unlock the Alchemist, the snatching must lead to a fight against the wolf-looking creature itself that when killed will drop the Mysterious Stone item. Turn the item in at Wallace’s to get this Archetype.
2. Archon
The Archon is by far the most secretive Archetype in the game and it requires a great deal of work to obtain it. Here’s a list of the requirements:
- Explorer: unlock and level it up to 10. When you have, select the Fortune Hunter skill.
- Invader: unlock and level it up to at least 5. When you have, select the Worm Hole skill.
- Leto’s Amulet: can be bought from Reggie at Ward 13. To spawn the item in his shop, you’ll need to equip any Armor that puts you at over 80 in Encumbrance. Then, perform 100 fat rolls in front of him.
- Black Cat Band: can be bought from Reggie when you’ve died 15 times in very quick succession. You can just Liquid Escape 15 times in a row for this.
- Amber Moonstone: can be bought from Cass at Ward 13.
- Anastasija’s Inspiration: can be bought from Whispers (the mute guy) at Ward 13 after completing Campaign Mode.
Zania’s Malice
- : found in a hidden alcove near the Ashen Wasteland checkpoint on Root Earth.
- Full Realmwalker Set: can be bought from Whispers (the mute guy) at Ward 13 after completing Campaign Mode. Note: the set won’t be available if you weren’t the host of the Campaign mode.
- Ford’s Scattergun: reroll Adventure Mode in Yaesha so that your starting location is the Red Throne. Talk to and be kind to the Queen. Continue through Yaesha until you defeat the main boss, the Corruptor. Return to the Queen and kneel when given the option to obtain the Seal of the Empress ring. Now make your way back to the World Stone, but turn right to enter the library. Equip the ring and the floor will reveal and underground secret area with this gun.
- Cube Gun: can be crafted at Ava at Ward 13 after obtaining the Conflux Prism as a reward for defeating the unmissable, story-related boss Labyrinth Sentinel.
- Labyrinth Staff: found in a secret area in the Labyrinth that you can reach by phasing through the portal that continuously switches destinations.
- Void Heart Relic:N’Erud > Alepsis-Taura. This is by far the most complex Relic to obtain. First off, Alepsis-Taura is a secret location in N’Erud that can only be accessed after finishing the Seeker’s Keys event and killing the world boss Sha’Hala: Spectral Guardian of N’Erud. So, make sure that in Campaign Mode for N’Erud your starting location is Seeker’s Rest. Then, proceed through the main objective markers until your reach the Ascension Spire area in either Timeless Horizon, Phantom Wasteland or The Eon Vault and talk to the Custodian to start the quest. Finish the quest by defeating the boss at the top of Sentinel’s Keep. Make sure NOT to use the Override Pin before defeating the boss as this will lock you out of this Heart. Once you’ve defeated the boss, return to the Custodian and tell him you’ve completed the mission. Now you have to wait an entire 12 hours in real time. You can either leave your game on or use the system settings to fast time forward. After 12 hours, Alepsis-Taura should become available. In this place, you will find an audio record and the Void Heart next to it on the ground. You can now safely return to Ward 13.
- Once you’ve got everything needed, head to Fractured Ingress World Stone in the Labyrinth. Descend the stairs ahead and make a left turn through the doorway left of the massive portal. Proceed to the right, climbing a small set of stairs, and then move through the gate with a cross-shaped frame. Within, you will come across a portal that cyclically changes its teleportation destination every few seconds. Wait for it to shift to a location that appears to lead to a deadly fall (not the one where you can see another portal in the sky), then pass through it, slightly tilting the left stick to the left. After some time, you will touch down on a newly formed stone pathway. Follow this stone pathway and inspect the final area on the right side to locate a large, corrupted biome gate. Ensure that you have equipped all your collected items, and then utilize the Biome Portal Key on the gate before stepping through it. You will now find yourself in the Backrooms. This maze allows only limited time for exploration, necessitating speed on your part. While various items are present here, your objective is the Strange Box, positioned in the far back left section of the area. Since you have the Explorer’s Fortune Hunter skill equipped, activate it to see the collectible items much more easily. Once you’ve obtained the Strange Box item, turn it in at Wallace’s to get this Archetype.
3. Challenger
Buy the Old Metal Tool from Reggie Malone (sitting next to Mudtooth). Turn in the item at Wallace’s to get this Archetype.
4. Engineer
If you own it, first equip the Hex Ward ring to completely negate any Curse damage. Otherwise, stock up on any Curse-resistant concoctions. For this Archetype, you need an item called Alien Device which is hidden somewhere within the confines of N’Erud, either in The Eon Vault or The Timeless Horizon, both of which are located beyond the Titan’s Reach World Stone in N’Erud. To find the item, you need to look for a platform that extends beyond the map’s boundaries which is surrounded by sharp rock formations. At the end of this platform you will then have to drop down to find the time. The best way to find this item is to use the Explorer’s Fortune Hunter skill which highlights key items in purple. Turn the item in at Wallace’s to unlock this Archetype.
5. Explorer
The Explorer is one of the easiest Secret Archetypes to unlock. Simply finish the story and upon defeating Annihilation you will obtain an item called Broken Compass. Turn in the item at Wallace’s to get this Archetype.
6. Gunslinger
Listen to all of Mudtooth’s stories and then buy the Iron Cylinder from his wares. Turn in the item at Wallace’s to get this Archetype.
7. Handler
Buy the Silent Whistle from Mudtooth. Turn in the item at Wallace’s to get this Archetype.
8. Hunter
Buy the Rusty Medal from Brabus. Turn in the item at Wallace’s to get this Archetype.
9. Invader
Unlocking the Invader requires a lot of luck. First, you need to earn the Dreamcatcher melee weapon in Losomn. This item can only be found in the Morrow Parish location in Losomn, one of the world’s starting locations. If you spawn in the Beatific Palace, just reroll Adventure Mode. Once you spawn in the Morrow Parish, proceed through the areas until you’re able to reach the Morrow Sanatorium. Inside the Sanatorium, collect three Carved-Stone Dolls and the Asylum Third Floor Key. The stones are found in random locations within the asylum building, the Asylum Third Floor Key is found inside the barn outside the Asylum. With the Third Floor Key, unlock the topmost door in the Asylum and then exit to the balcony through the open window. Here, grab the Prison Cell Key and head down to the basement. Give the dolls to the Head Doctor in one of the cells and then unlock the door. This will reward you with the Nightweaver Stone Doll. Now go back outside and continue with the main quest. You have to reach an area called Shattered Gallery. Continue on until you’ll eventually be able to battle against the Magister Dullain boss. Defeat him and reach the exit. Continue down the stairs and at the very bottom you will find the Nightwaver munching on a human. Collect the Soulkey Tribute next to the corpse and return to the basement in the Asylum. Place the Soulkey Tribute item in the webbed cocoon and you will open a passage to the Tormented Asylum Dimension. In a side room you should notice a bigger web in this dimension that is similar in looks to the one you found in the Asylum’s basement. Place the Nightweaver Stone Doll here and you will receive the Dreamcatcher. Now return to Ward 13 and switch to Campaign Mode. In Campaign Mode, choose Root Earth and load the checkpoint Corrupted Harbor. Continue through the enemy-infested areas until you reach a smaller checkpoint. From here, enter the room next to it and go all the way downstairs until you’re in a room where you will have fought a horde of enemies during the story. Enter the room in the opposite corner and you’ll find yourself in a giant area with more enemies. Here, defeat everyone and then use the Dreamcatcher on the big pod in the middle to receive the Walker’s Dream consumable. Consume it and you’ll be warped to a new area called Twilight Vale. Here, defeat the boss Bane and its minions, then you’ll receive the Wooden Shiv item. Turn in the item at Wallace’s at Ward 13 to get this Archetype.
10. Medic
Buy the Medic Pin from Dr. Norah. Turn in the item at Wallace’s to get this Archetype.
11. Summoner
First, you need to find a Blood Moon Altar. Blood Moon Altars can be found in any of the woods areas in the Yaesha world. If you’re lucky enough, at the Blood Moon Altar you can craft the Faded Grimoire item. This item requires 1,500 Scrap, 5 Lumenite Crystals, and a whopping 15 Blood Moon Essence. Collecting Blood Moon Essence can be quite challenging as you’ll have to be lucky enough to find purple orbs dancing in the sky in the Yaesha world. If you’re lucky enough to find them, shoot them to collect Blood Moon Essence. Once you’ve bought the item, turn it in at Wallace’s to get this Archetype.
These are all the Archetypes in Remnant 2.
