Red Dead Redemption 2 How to Get Gun Oil

In Red Dead Redemption 2 Gun Oil is used to repair your weapons. This guide shows how to get gun oil, where to find it.

Gun Oil is simply bought from Gunsmiths in every major town.

Here’s the location of one that sells Gun Oil in the town “Valentine” early in the game:

Browse the catalogue in the Gunsmith store and check under the “Accessories” section. The gun oil normally costs $1.50 a piece and is good for 1 full weapon repair. You only need 1 gun oil to fully repair the weapon from worst to best condition. Also see RDR2 How to Repair Weapons.

During your travels you may also find some Gun Oil in the open world, but buying it is the most reliable option and it doesn’t cost much. Buy as much of it as you can carry, weapons can be repaired with it on the go at any time.
