Red Dead Redemption 2 Gainful Employment Walkthrough

Gainful Employment is the 97th main story mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Gainful Employment Main Quest including all Gold Medals for 100% completion.

Gainful Employment is unlocked after completing Motherhood.

Chapter: Epilogue – Part 1 or Epilogue – Part 2
Region: West Elizabeth

Gold Medal Requirements:

• After arriving in Strawberry, locate the bounty within 30 seconds
• After mounting your horse, catch and hogtie the bounty within 1 minute 15 seconds

Starting Location: Valentine, West Elizabeth

Talk to Sadie Adler

Back in Valentine after all this time, meet Sadie Adler for a drink and a supplemental career choice. Join Sadie for a ride to Strawberry to find her bounty, Nathan Kirk.

• GOLD MEDAL: After arriving in Strawberry, locate the bounty within 30 seconds

Immediately head to the Welcome Center and kick down the door of room 3. Nathan will jump off the balcony to the street below.

Jump off the railing to the left and onto your horse.

• GOLD MEDAL: After mounting your horse, catch and hogtie the bounty within 1 minute 15 seconds

Spur your horse after him and equip your lasso. Follow him, cutting corners wherever possible to reduce his lead. When he sweeps to the right towards Sadie, keep going forwards towards the road ahead to gain a lot of ground on Nathan. Lasso him as soon as you can.

Alternately, there is a much easier and slightly less tasteful solution to stopping Kirk…

I won’t tell if you won’t. Follow it up with a lasso and a hogtie and you should be able to make the time easily. Pick him up and put him on Sadie’s horse, and your share of the bounty is earned.

This finishes Gainful Employment main mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Now the next quest Bare Knuckles Friendships starts.
