Quest Giver: N/A
Chapter: 1
Region: Ambarino
Gold Medal Requirements:
- Kill all the wolves without taking any damage
- Complete with at least 80% accuracy
Starting Location: Colter, Ambarino
Follow Javier
Abigail is worried about John Marston, who hasn’t been seen in days since going on a scouting mission. Javier and Arthur are asked to go out and see if they can pick up his trail. At the end of the cinematic, Javier will spot a camp in the distance and pick up the trail, leaving you to follow him.
You will ride for a long time through treacherous terrain following Marston’s trail until you eventually find his horse, frozen to death on the mountaintop. Javier will fire his gun to see if Marston can hear you, and far in the distance you will hear the sound of him calling out to you for help.
Grab your shotgun from your horse’s saddle before you follow Javier up the mountain towards the yelling.
You will drop down and climb up over several ledges, until you finally find John battered and bloodied but alive.
Arthur and Javier will hoist him out of the crevice he’s fallen into and carry him to safety.
Keep the Wolves Away from Javier and John
But first you’re going to have to deal with a pack of wolves!
- GOLD MEDAL: Kill all the wolves without taking any damage
- GOLD MEDAL: Complete with at least 80% accuracy
You can start with your pistol if the wolves are far away, but since you need to maintain 80% accuracy be sure of your shots before you fire. When the wolves are closer you can use your shotgun, which will make accuracy easier but slightly increase the danger of taking damage.
The wolves will die in one shot though, so it’s not difficult to avoid being bitten. The main thing to avoid is accidentally doing a ‘double-tap’ with the shotgun in case the second shot misses. It seems to have a hair trigger, and in the heat of combat it’s easy to accidentally fire twice which will ruin your accuracy. Once you have killed all three wolves, get back on your horse and follow Javier down the mountain. Ride with your shotgun out, and don’t let your guard down.
Kill the Wolves
Javier will spot some more wolves and spur his horse into a gallop. Two wolves will come down the mountain while a third waits below.
If you’re lucky you can actually kill some of these wolves by trampling them while they chase Javier, giving you a kill without affecting your accuracy. Once these last three wolves are killed, you won’t have any more encounters until you reach camp.
Watch Abigail berate John for almost dying, and at the end of the cinematic the mission will be complete and you will automatically begin the next mission.
This finishes Enter, Pursued by a Memory main mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Now the next quest The Aftermath of Genesis starts.

Hi!
There were four wolves at the end and I killed all of the wolves one shot
But I couldn’t get gold medal due the
80% accuracy checkpoint
Profchaos says
I only achieved the accuracy required by changing auto aim to a narrow aim and switching back to a more powerful pistol with a better fire rate.
I used billy midnights pistol for this. So you need to take the shotgun off the horse take a few steps and then go back to swap it back out.

I literally completed this… didn’t miss a single shot. Every shot I took killed one wolf, including while on the horse, and it said I had less than 80% accuracy. Amazing game, absolutely broken mission.
Mad Dog says
Ugh. I hate these missions with 10 minutes of forced slow-walk / conversation before you get to anything related to the Gold Medal requirements.

You bet. Boring….
Kieron Grantham says
My gun refuses to shoot during this mission.
