Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart has 30 Blizon Crystal Locations. Finding all Blizon Crystals unlocks the Shifty Character trophy.
They are a type of Collectible that gets marked on the map when you go near it. They look like big purple glowing crystals. You can keep track of your progress via the trophy tracker on the “Shifty Character” trophy or by manually counting the ones you’ve got on the map. They must be found in one playthrough, the counter resets in New Game+ (Challenge Mode).
All of them are contained within Planet 5: Blizar Prime (23 Crystals) & Planet 7: Cordelion (7 Crystals). The vast majority comes automatically from the story. These crystals are used to switch these planets between different dimensions, which is often necessary to advance the story. Below you can find maps that show all of them at a glance (can compare with your in-game map) and then we go through each of these individually.
Note: Even though there are 30 Blizon Crystals, only 29 are needed to pop the trophy since patch v1.001.002 (prior to this it unlocked after the 30th). So you are allowed to miss one of them if you’ve updated your game.

Blizon Crystal #4
When you reach the platform in the middle of the map with lots of miners on it and a Ms. Zurkon vendor, check the left side for a Blizon Crystal. This one also leads to a Gold Bolt.

Blizon Crystal #20
SEMI-MISSABLE: During the Rail Grind you’ll come to a point where there are 3 rails next to each other and the path forward is closed off. Here you have a Blizon Crystal on the left rail and another on the right rail. To advance forward you’d only need to hit one of the two to open the path. Make sure you get both of these Blizon Crystals here, the one on the left rail and the one on the right rail. If you reach the end of the rail grind (drill platform) without having gotten these, you can still restart the checkpoint to retry. The elevator to the rail will be closed later, but with some trick platforming you can still get back there (see video below).
Note: On patch v1.001.001 this one didn’t count correctly in the trophy tracker (but it still unlocked the trophy after the 30th Blizon Crystal). Since patch v1.001.002 it’s counted correctly (the trophy should now unlock after the 29th Blizon Crystal, allowing you to skip one).
This video shows how to get back to #20 & #21 after the story (the elevator will be closed but you can get back to it with some trick platforming):
Blizon Crystal #21
SEMI-MISSABLE: During the Rail Grind you’ll come to a point where there are 3 rails next to each other and the path forward is closed off. Here you have a Blizon Crystal on the left rail and another on the right rail. To advance forward you’d only need to hit one of the two to open the path. Blizon Crystal #22
Automatic from story – during rail grind, at end of rail grind. This one is known to not show up on the map for some players but it should still count in the trophy tracker.
Blizon Crystal #23
Automatic from story – on the drill platform after rail grind. You are forced to use it during the boss fight there.
Planet 7: Cordelion
Blizon Crystal #24
Automatic from story, after first Ms. Zurkon vendor on Cordelion.
Blizon Crystal #25
After using Crystal #24 you will enter a snowy dimension and there’s a platform to the east with a Blizon Crystal on it. It’s quite far away. You must jump over there with your hoverboots at full speed (hold and press to speed up).
Blizon Crystal #26
Automatic from story.
Blizon Crystal #27
Automatic from story.
Blizon Crystal #28
Automatic from story.
Blizon Crystal #29
Automatic from story. The map icon for this Crystal disappears for some players but it should still count.
Blizon Crystal #30
Automatic from story.
That’s all of the Blizon Crystal Locations in Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. Finding all of them will earn you the Shifty Character trophy. Remember you must find 29 Crystals in a single playthrough, the counter resets when you restart in a new game.
Chris says
For some reason number 22 doesn’t appear on my screen and only says I have hit 22 of them.
Stefan says
22 isn’t appearing for me either
PowerPyx says
I think that one’s buggy on the map.
On my first playthrough it showed up fine on the map.
On my second playthrough it never showed up on the map. It also didn’t update my trophy tracker after hitting #22 on that playthrough.
For the trophy it shouldn’t matter if it shows on the map or not. You have to hit it automatically to advance, so can’t miss #22.
jusixo says
I’ve tried reloading saves as well and still won’t update
andrewtabs says
I didn’t get #22 on my map but I still got the trophy when I finished the 7 on Cordelion (first playthrough).
Droideka75 says
The trophy shifty character let’s you obtain it with 29. Must have been fixed in day one update.
I missed one of the two missable and it popped at 29 in level 7.
Nice!
PowerPyx says
Indeed.
There are multiple reports now that it pops with only 29/30 after v1.001.002.
Before it definitely needed all 30. So it’s no longer a missable trophy after latest patch.
Buck says
As of June 11th, the Shifty Character trophy popped at 29 Blizon crystals hit instead of 30. I had done both optional ones and got the trophy at the second to last crystal on Cordelion. Maybe with the latest update they made sure the trophy pops at 29, like the counter says.
Ratchet says
#22 doesn’t appear on mine either but the tracker says I have hit 23/29 so far. Haven’t been to the 7th planet yet.
PowerPyx says
Updates:
– Patch v1.001.002 made it so only 29 of 30 Blizon Crystals are needed for Shifty Character (before all 30 were needed). The wording in the guide has been updated to reflect those changes. This means missing one of the optional ones during Planet 5 rail grind no longer impacts the trophy (#20 & #21).
– A workaround has been added to get back to #20 & #21 after the story, see the video in the guide below those crystals. I think there’s currently a bug for everyone that keeps the elevator to the rail grind closed. You can get back there with some trick platforming though. Either way, because only 29/30 are now needed it shouldn’t even matter.
Terreto says
Diesnt look like this trick works anymore.
Marcos says
The elevator is no longer accessible with the tricks. There’s a “invisible wall” like when we reach the end of the map.
jusixo says
I’m guessing the’ve fixed the issue with a patch but missing ’22’ didn’t stop me from getting the trophy.
PowerPyx says
That one is unmissable, you can’t finish the rail grind without it.
It just doesn’t get marked on the map for some players which is a display bug.
Ali says
So I think I’ve encountered a bug with related to this trophy. Been playing though on challenge mode after not caring about the trophy originally but I’m stuck on 28/29 on the tracker now. My game is version 1.001.002 and I have hit every crystal in the game (including both the left and right ones on the blizar grind rail section. My map shows all 23 crystals on blizar prime but only 6 on cordelion. The one that is missing is #29 marked here which I definitely hit due to it being a story requirement to get 2nd juice into the “broken” dimension. If I go back to this location, the crystal is just not there in either dimension. Has anyone else seen this kind of thing?
PowerPyx says
I had the same issue with #29. It was only marked on the map before I went to hit. After I left the planet it was no longer marked. It should still count though, I checked the trophy tracker after each one and it definitely updated after this crystal.
Crownin says
I am not seeing either. #22 and #29 not on my map and the tracker is stuck AT 28/29. Any suggestion?
PowerPyx says
My only idea would be to hit all Blizons again. Maybe one didn’t update in the trophy tracker correctly the first time. Just hit them all again and see what happens.
If that doesn’t work, try in Challenge Mode or New Game (the counter resets in Challenge Mode / New Game). If you skip cutscenes and rush through, you can get to Planet 7 in about 2 hours.
Eric says
Did you fix it? Having same problem.
Charlie says
If you miss one or some can you return to the planet and start again from the first one after leaving, like with other planets?
Charlie says
I have hit all Crystals, yet my tracker remains at 28. I made the effort to go to each optional crystal and hit them, yet the trophy has still not popped. This is ridiculous.
Shufu says
Can you please update this Shifty Character as missable?
I missed #22 and #29 and my count stuck at 28/29.
Your trophy guide mentioned NONE are missable except for the one killing dinosaur 5 times.
But this one, those two crystals are no longer accessible once you finished the main story and have to replay the main story to get them.
PowerPyx says
#22 & #29 aren’t missable. They are MANDATORY to advance the story. You literally can’t advance there without hitting these, absolutely no way around it, tested it many times.
It’s just that they don’t show on the map for some players (which is just a visual glitch, I had the same and they still counted). But also the trophy counter on this seems to have bugged out in your case, which is odd and rare as there’s 1 more crystal than you need, so even if 1 bugs out you get an extra crystal to save you. So in your case at least 2 must’ve bugged out.
Dennis says
For everyone who is stuck with 27 out of 29, I noticed that it is possible to skip crystal 14 and 15 because you can also do this jump with hover boots or I don’t know. But hitting these crystals again popped the trophy for me.
Vincent says
I had exactly the same problem as the others for crystal #22 !!
I was stuck at 28/29 even though I hit all the crystals!!
Anyway I got the trophy after i hit crystal #24 in the planet Cordelion.
Thanks Powerpyx for all the efforts!!
SidShow says
I’ve followed the guide but #22 doesn’t show on my map which above says was unmissable however nor does #29. So now with this new patch meaning I can not get to the lift to re do the rail I’m stuck on 28 whereby I need 29 on the count for the trophy. Any ideas?
