There are a total of 267 Missing Persons to be found in Prey. Finding all their locations unlocks the “Missing Persons” trophy or achievement.
Just like with other collectible trophies in Prey, this one should unlock a bit early even before everyone has been found. It varies sligthly for every player but the trophy should unlock at about 260-265 Missing Persons found. So if you can’t get one at all just keep working on finding everyone else and you should get the trophy.
To see how many you have found, open Inventory > Data > Stats > scroll all the way down > TranStar Crew and Visitors found.
Most of these people are corpses sitting on the floor and sometimes in ventilation shafts. Some are even floating around in Talos I Exterior. A bunch of them are still alive, they are mostly quest givers and humans encountered during missions. Others are being mind-controlled by the aliens, so they are walking around but are hostile and will attack on sight. Then there are some that have been transformed into Phantom enemies. The phantom enemies are pointed out in the overview below. You really should kill every single enemy in every area, especially the phantoms. Then look at the remains of the dead enemies.
You can also track many persons via security stations. Those are special computers found in almost every area. They have a tab called “Crew” from where you can select an employee and track them. This will start a mini quest and mark the person in the game world. So if you have trouble finding a certain someone, check a security terminal and see if they can be tracked. One such security terminal is found in the foyer of the Crew Quarters (but there are many others).
A Missing Person counts as “collected” when you’ve simply looked at them from up close. You don’t need to pick up any objects from them. As soon as the yellow text comes up that shows their name they count as being found. If you want to be extra sure, check your statistics from time to time (as explained above, scroll to the bottom of the stats to view your collectible progress).
At the start of main mission “Repo Man” you can still access all areas and free roam around Talos I Space Station to collect missing persons. Make a manual save at this point and collect whatever you are missing. After beating the game there is no free roam! You must get all missing persons in a single playthrough to earn the trophy and achievement. It resets the progress when starting a new game.
Missing Persons Locations
This list is in alphabetical order! There are many different paths to take so putting them in chronological order would be difficult as every player will take different paths. Use this as a checklist to keep track which ones you have found. The areas aren’t that big so just go into every room and investigate every area carefully, open all doors etc.

The security station says jorgen thorstein is dead but not found, there’s no check mark. I go to hardware labs and his marker is a spot in the wall. I know he’s a phantom but why didn’t the computer mark him as found? Am I glitched?
