Pokemon Sword & Shield Where to Deliver Paula’s Old Letter

This guide explains where to deliver Paula’s Old Letter and find Frank’s location in Pokemon Sword & Shield. Paula’s Old Letter is a side quest, given to you by a little girl in Hammerlocke.

Step 1: Get Old Letter

First you’ll have to get the letter from Paula. From the Pokemon Center in the middle of Hammerlocke, head to the right and up the first staircase you see. She looks like a little girl and stands in a corner up the stairs. When she asks if you can help her deliver a love letter to a boy, accept her quest. Then the Old Letter key item is placed in your inventory.

Step 2: Deliver Old Letter to Frank

The “boy” Paula’s letter is referring to is Frank. You find him in Ballonlea, the town where you go for the 5th Gym Challenge (the story takes you there automatically, so just keep playing if you haven’t been there yet). The location you must deliver the letter to is in the first house left of the Ballonlea Pokemon Center. Inside is an old man, that’s our Frank. Give him the letter. You get a Choice Scarf for your troubles (it increases the Speed of the Pokemon holding it, but makes it so you can only use the 1 single attack you choose first during a match).

Step 3: Return for a secret Reward

Hold on, there’s a last secret step! Return to the quest giver in Hammerlocke. She has disappeared, but if you spam the  button where she was standing you can find a scrap of Reaper Cloth. Quite well hidden that one. Paula was really just a ghost stuck in the past and now she has moved on because you helped her.
