Pokemon Sword & Shield Tyranitar Location

November 19, 2019 by PowerPyx 3 Comments

Galar Dex: #385 Tyranitar
Abilities: Sand Stream (1) | Sand Stream (2) | Unnerve (H)
Type: Rock / Dark
EXP Group: Slow
Egg Group: Monster
Hatch Cycles: 40
Height: 02.00 m, Weight: 202.0 kg, Color: Green
Evolution: Larvitar > Pupitar (Level 30) > Tyranitar (Level 55)
Characteristics: Its body can’t be harmed by any sort of attack, so it is very eager to make challenges against enemies. The quakes caused when it walks make even great mountains crumble and change the surrounding terrain.

Tyranitar Location in Pokemon Sword & Shield: You can find Tyranitar in the following locations:

  • Shield Edition: From evolving Pupitar (at Level 55)
  • Shield Edition: It’s a special encounter in the middle of Dusty Bowl (Wild Area, where the sand is). You can see it walking around (Overworld) during Weather Conditions: Normal Weather, Snowing, Snowstorm, Sandstorm, Heavy Fog. It seems to have a cooldown of about 24 hours before it shows up again if you battle it (you can also quit the game before it saves so it’s still there).
  • Sword Edition: Only from having a Shield player trade you this Pokemon or its other Shield-exclusive evolution forms. Neither this nor its lower level evolutions can be found in Sword (trading only).

Tyranitar Stats:

  • HP: 100
  • Attack: 134
  • Defense: 110
  • Special Attack: 95
  • Special Defense: 100
  • Speed: 61
  • Total Combat Points: 600

      Indeed, you’re right!
I think it’s one of those special encounters like Snorax, Steelix etc. that have fixed spawns.

In Sword Edition it’s Hakamo-o walking around in the same spot instead of Tyranitar.

Officially it doesn’t have any habitat listed in Pokedex, but it’s in Dusty Bowl.

I found it wandering around the Roaring-Sea Caves in the Crown Tundra during overcast weather.
