Pokemon Sword & Shield Sweet Apple Location

December 1, 2019 by PowerPyx 6 Comments

Sweet Apple is an item exclusive to Pokemon Shield and is used to evolve Applin to Appletun. It cannot be found in Pokemon Sword. This guide shows where to find the Sweet Apple in Pokemon Shield Edition. Sword players will receive a different exclusive item called Tart Apple which lets Applin evolve to Flapple instead.

Sweet Apple Location (Shield Exclusive):

  • Sweet Apple is obtained from a short side quest you can do for a boy in Hammerlocke. You find this boy on the far left side of Hammerlocke by the exit to Route 6 (circled red in Screenshot #2). Talk to him and when he asks if you heard the rumor say you haven’t heard of it. He asks of you to bring him an Applin. You must first catch an Applin if you haven’t already (Applin Locations). Give him the Applin and he gives you the Sweet Apple as a quest reward!

  • Remember: Sword players get Tart Apple instead! This means Flapple (Tart Apple) is exclusive to Sword and Appletun (Sweet Apple) exclusive to Shield.

Sweet Apple Usage:

The only use of SweetApple is to evolve Applin to Appletun. You must give Applin this item to trigger the evolution. It’s one of the more secret evolutions in the game (Shield Exclusive).

That’s all there is to finding the secret Sweet Apple in Pokemon Sword and Shield, enjoy!

I was able to obtain a sweet apple from the dappled grove in the wild area. I’m not sure what the rates are because I’ve been there 3 times and gotten all the apples and have only one sweet apple

I found one there, too. Apparently you might get one from battling the cafe guys but that was taking days of trying so this comment and thought I’d look- instant success!
