Evolution: Rhyhorn > Rhydon (Level 42) > Rhyperior (Trade Rhydon while it’s holding “Protector” item)
Characteristics: It can load up to three projectiles per arm into the holes in its hands. What launches out of those holes could be either rocks or Roggenrola. It relies on its carapace to deflect incoming attacks and throw its enemy off balance. As soon as that happens, it drives its drill into the foe.
Rhyperior Location in Pokemon Sword & Shield: You can find Rhyperior in the following locations:
- From evolving Rhydon. You must give a Rhydon the item called “Protector” and then trade it with another player to trigger the evolution.
- How to get Protector Item: Found as item pickup on Route 9, next to Circhester Bay sign, near Pokemon Trainer “Swimmer Jacob”. Can also be bought from Pokemon Center in Hammerlocke for 10BP.
- This Pokemon cannot be caught in the open world (evolution only).
- Can be caught in some 5-star Raids (Level 55-60).

Is there any other way of evolving this pokemon without trading as people just keep stealing my sons pokemon everytime he tries to trade. Its causing a lot of upset
He can catch one In game at max raid battles

I need him as well. I have a Rhydon and a Protector, I’m looking to trade for a Rypherior and not get scammed.
This also happened to me today where I was robbed of a Rhydon with Protector. People are really mean online, but I’ve learnt my lesson. Grinded a bit and now got a Rhyperior from a Max Raid. Will probably keep trying to get the ability I want though.
Just found two of them on Potbottom Desert during a sandstorm on armor island.
I found them as well on potbottom desert but during fog.
