Pokemon Arceus Noble Arcanine Boss Guide: Lord of the Isles

February 4, 2022 by imbroken963 Leave a Comment

Arcanine ‘Lord of the Isles’ is a Noble Boss Battle in Pokemon Legends Arceus. In Pokemon Arceus the Space-Time Distortion around Mt. Coronet has sent a group of Pokemon known as Noble Pokemon into a frenzy. Throughout the Story you will have to fight against each of these Pokemon and remove them from their frenzy for their Wardens. These battles are a little different from usual Pokemon battles through Hisui, the Pokemon will battle yours and then will try attacking you as a trainer. You will need to evade the Pokémon’s attacks.

All of the Noble Pokemon you fight will be story-related.

Noble Pokemon: ‘Lord of the Isles’ Arcanine (Level 36)

Hisuian Arcanine is the third Noble Pokemon you will come across and is the Hisuian evolution for Hisuian Growlithe in the Hisui Region and is Fire / Rock type.

Location of Noble Arcanine

Noble Arcanine is the Noble Pokemon of the Cobalt Coastlines.

Arcanine’s Weaknesses and Strengths

Arcanine has a double weakness. This double Weakness will make it take 4x damage when you use a move of the following types:

  • Ground
  • Water

Arcanine’s Weaknesses will make it receive 2x damage when you use the following move types:

  • Fighting
  • Rock

Arcanine’s Defensive resistances will make it receive 1/2 damage from the following move types:

  • Normal
  • Flying
  • Poison
  • Bug
  • Ice
  • Fairy

Arcanine’s Defensive resistances will make it receive 1/4 damage from the following move type:

  • Fire

Arcanine’s Offensive strengths will make it do 2x damage against your Pokemon if they are the following types:

  • Normal
  • Ground
  • Rock
  • Steel
  • Water
  • Ice
  • Dark

Stage 1 of the fight

The fight will start with Arcanine in the center of the small battlefield shaped like a cross and surrounded by lava. You will have to dodge his attacks while throwing Volcano Balms at him. Use those to lower his Frenzy Bar until he is stunned and you get a notification to send out a Pokemon to battle with Arcanine, this will be the start of Stage 2.  The following are Arcanine’s tells and attacks and how to avoid them:

Arcanine will lower his head and a yellow sparkle will appear in his eyes and he will charge directly forward at you. Simply roll out the way to dodge the attack but be careful not to roll into the lava.

Arcanine will lean its head back and roar into the sky, this means Arcanine will be jumping back to the center of the arena creating a shockwave around the center section. Roll out of the middle if you are there to avoid Arcanine landing on you.

Arcanine will start storing up energy and 5 orbs of fire will appear above Arcanine’s head. You will need to throw Volcano Balms at him 5 times to get rid of the orbs before Arcanine breathes fire on you. Each successful hit with a Volcano Balm will get rid of one of the orbs above his head.

Stage 2 of the fight

After stunning Arcanine by throwing Volcano Balms at him when he is about to breathe fire at you, you will be notified you can send in a Pokemon to do battle. Throw out the best Pokemon to deal with Arcanine and deplete his health bar to continue on to Stage 3 of the fight.

Stage 3 of the fight

After defeating Arcanine with your Pokemon it will be stunned allowing you to throw more Volcano Balms at him. He will get a few upgraded attacks for this stage of the fight. The following are Arcanine’s tells and attacks and how to avoid them:

Arcanine will tilt his head back and howl even longer this time, this means he is about to jump to the center of the arena and instead of just the shockwave it will also fill the center with fire and create a firestorm around the center platform which will remain there for some time.

Arcanine will tilt his head down and rush towards you shortly after but this time will have a fiery force around the outside of his body. Simply roll out of his way but you really have to watch your footing in the arena because you will be stranded on one platform and Arcanine will be charging to your platform as well as charging his way off the platform.

Arcanine will charge to and from the platform you are on for a little bit before he starts his attack where he stores up fire and you have to throw Volcano Balms at him to stop him from breathing fire on you.

Stage 4 of the fight

If you haven’t depleted Arcanine’s Frenzy Bar before his second time gathering fire you will have to send out another Pokemon to fight Arcanine again and deplete his health bar. Once depleted you will have to move on to Stage 5.

Stage 5 of the fight

Once you have beaten Arcanine for the second time the stage will start and play out exactly like it did in Stage 3. Repeat the process until defeated.

After the fight

Once you have depleted the Frenzy Bar of Arcanine it will run away and you will be free to continue the story mission.
