Introduction
Welcome to the Persona 3 Portable Trophy Guide! Persona 3 Portable, also known as P3P, is an enhanced re-release of Persona 3. Previously released for the PlayStation Portable it is now coming to the PS4. The content is the same as the original PSP version, it’s mainly a graphical update and trophies have been added. Everything except automatic story trophies is missable due to there not being Chapter Select. But if you keep a save before the final boss (on day 01.31 Sunday) you will be able to get all trophies if you follow the Max all S-Links walkthrough, see Step 1. There is also New Game+, where you keep your money, equipment, compendium, and the level of your main character (even if you switch between male and female in NG+).
Step 1: Play through the game & Max all Social Links [40 Hours]
For the first playthrough pick one of both Characters, Male or Female. It does not matter which one you choose first, because you have to do a playthrough with both Characters anyway. Follow the walkthrough below for the Character you have chosen to get all possible trophies and Social Links (S-Links) in one playthrough. The S-Link requirements as well as some relationships and conversations are different for each character, that’s why there are two different walkthroughs below. Meaning, the Male Character Walkthrough has the Male S-Link requirements, the Female Character Walkthrough has the Female S-Link requirements. Keep a save before the final boss on day 01.31 Sunday and reload it after the story to clean up missing trophies. Watch out to not miss anything, especially S-Links (they are all included in the walkthrough).
All-in-One Trophy Walkthrough:
Step 2: Play through New Game+ with the second character & Max all Social Links for the second Character [40 Hours]
For A Pair of Wild Cards you must beat the game with each protagonist. There are only 2 protagonists “Male” and “Female”. Start New Game+ and choose the opposite of what you picked on the first playthrough.
Social Butterfly is currently bugged. It would be best to get all S-Links again with the opposite gender and keep a save before maxing out the last S-Link for when it gets patched in the future. Until it’s patched it’s unclear if getting all S-Links with one character is sufficient or if we must get them with both characters (already tested getting all S-Links with both characters and it didn’t unlock the trophy). Follow the walkthrough for the opposite character this time (includes all their S-Links):
Step 3: Defeat the Reaper, Margaret & Elizabeth/Theodore & Complete the Persona Compendium [30-40 Hours]
Now that you played twice through the game, it’s time to finish the remaining trophies. The main things you should have left are: defeating Reaper, Margaret, Elizabeth/Theodore, and completing the Persona Compendium. Refer to their trophy descriptions below.

Fusion Expert Perform 50 Persona fusions. |
||
You can fuse Personas inside the Velvet Room, it does not matter if you choose “Normal Spread” (fusing two Personas), “Triangle” (fusing three Personas), “Cross” (fusing four Personas), “Pentagon Spread” (fusing five Persona) or “Hexagon” (fusing 6 Persona). You can switch between them and do 10 fusions of each one to get this trophy. You will get this trophy automatically when going for Thorough Bookkeeper.
Persona Memory Bank Summon a Persona from the Compendium. |
||
You can summon Personas from the Compendium inside the Velvet Room. You need to reach 5/10 Sunday. Inside the Velvet Room, just choose the “Persona Compendium” and select any Persona you don’t currently have. Summoning costs money, the higher the level of the Persona you want, the more it costs.
A Cut Above Defeat Elizabeth or Theodore. |
||
See Persona 3 Portable Elizabeth / Theodore Boss Guide
The Reaper Becomes the Reaped Defeat The Reaper. |
||
You can fight against the Reaper inside Tartarus on any visit of the Tartarus. In order to fight against him you just have to wait 2-3 minutes on any floor of the Tartarus. The reaper will automatically come after you. It is highly recommended that you and your party member are at least level 80 or above or else you won’t stand a chance against him.
That Special Someone Enter a special relationship with someone. |
||
No matter which character you play, you can date multiple people in the game. To get this trophy you need to reach Social Link 6 with one of them.
You will get this trophy automatically while going for Social Butterfly. |
||
Flawless Max out all social qualities. |
||
There are three social qualities that you need to max out:
There are multiple ways to max out these abilities. Such as Part-time jobs (Cafe & Blue Spa) in Paulownia Mall, eating certain food, or playing mini-games. See the below walkthroughs for maxing out all social abilities and S-Links in one playthrough: |
||
The Other Self Awaken as a Persona-user. |
||
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. You will get this on 4/9 Thursday during the Dark Hour.
Thorough Bookkeeper Complete the Persona Compendium. |
||
The Persona Compendium is an Option to summon Persona. You will get introduced to it on 5/11 inside the Velvet Room. But you can already access it on 5/10. To open and summon Persona from the Compendium go to the Velvet Room, talk to Elizabeth/Theodore and select “Check requests/compendium” -> “Persona Compendium”.
There are a total of 174 Persona that you need to get a 100% Compendium. You can the percentage of the Compendium in the lower right corner of the screen in the compendium. To get all Persona you NEED to max out all S-Links , as well as complete certain requests. You will also need to fuse a lot to get all Personas. It is highly recommended that you go for “Shuffle Time” Personas on your playthroughs. Shuffle Time is random and can appear after a fight against enemies. When it appears after a fight , the game will show you between 3-6 cards. Most of the time there will be a Persona on one of the cards. The game will shuffle the cards and you need to try to hit the Persona card here. This will get you a lot of the Persona needed throughout the game and minimizes the effort to get all Persona at the end of the game. See Persona 3 Portable 100% Compendium (coming soon) |

True Supporter Max out a Social Link. |

See Social Butterfly. | ||
Social Butterfly Max out all social links. |
||
*BUGGED*
Currently, this trophy appears to be bugged. Even after maxing all S-Links with both characters it doesn’t unlock. Until it’s patched or someone manages to get it to unlock it’s unclear if the requirement is to max out all S-Links with 1 character or with both (if it’s the latter you will need to get all S-Links twice, but you need 2 playthroughs anyway for A Pair of Wild Cards). There are a total of 22 social links (also called S-Links) to max out. The social links themselves are the same between both characters BUT they are different on how to max them out. Each Social Link represents a single Arcana, and raising a particular Social Link increases the experience bonus the protagonists receive when they fuse Personas of that Arcana. Completing a Social Link unlocks the ultimate Persona of that Arcana. Social Links can be reversed if the protagonists do not spend time with the respective people holding the Link, end up booking two holiday invitations on one day, or give an improper answer during their conversations. Once you maxed out a Social Link you don’t need to spend more time with that character. To max them out you have to Spend time with them, invite them to the Christmas party, or do a fortune wish at the Naganaki Shrine. It also helps if you have a Persona with the same Arcana as you. Which means, if you want to Max the Lovers S-Link, make sure to have a Persona from the Lovers arcana in your team when speaking to the respective social link. Follow the walkthroughs below to max out all S-Link in one playthrough: |
||
A Pair of Wild Cards Beat the game with each protagonist. |
||
*BUGGED*
Currently, this trophy appears to be bugged. We tested doing it in New Game+ as well as completely New Game and it has not unlocked in either case. There are only two protagonists: Male and Female. For this trophy, you have to play through the game once with each gender. This means a minimum of 2 playthroughs is mandatory for platinum. It doesn’t matter which character you do the first playthrough with. After the first playthrough, you have to start the second playthrough with the opposite character through New Game +. To start New Game +, select the “Cleared Save”, which you make after finishing the game, and select the Character which you did not play on the first playthrough. |
||
One Who Has Proven Their Power Defeat Margaret. |
||
You can only fight against Margaret if you go for the good ending, which means do not kill Ryoji on 12/31.
On 1/1 a new door, called Paradigm Door, will appear inside the Tartarus on the left side next to the door to the Velvet Room. Inside this door, you will find Margaret. But before you can fight her you have to fight against 8 enemies, the same that you fought in the story but in stronger versions. You also need to beat the 5 ability doors: Power, Magic, Speed, Resistance, and Luck. In those ability doors your Persona and Items are pre-set, and you will fight alone. After beating all 13 doors, a new door called “Pandora’s Door” will appear in the middle where you can fight against Margaret. |
||
S.E.E.S. the Day Rescue a missing person. |
||
You get an introduction to missing persons on 6/18 from Elizabeth / Theodore. Throughout the game, you will get a call from Elizabeth / Theodore and they will tell you that Missing Ones are lost in Tartarus and they want you to save them. Just get into Tartarus, reach the Floor where the Person is, then find and interact with them. You have to teleport out of Tartarus to save them. Below is a list of all missing Persons, including when you get the message about them going missing and on which floor to find them. It is important that you save them before the Due Date or they will be gone.
Due date: July 7th Due date: August 6th Due date: September 5th Due date: October 4th Due date: November 3rd Due date: December 2nd Due date: December 31st Due date: January 31st If you save a person you can go to the Police Station in Paulownia Mall and get a reward for each person from the officer. |
||
Granter of Your Desires Buy 5 things from Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities. |
||
You can buy things from Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities from 5/3 on each Sunday inside your Room. Just interact with the TV in your room during daytime to buy stuff. Repeat this on 5 different Sundays. The items will get added to your inventory three days after you bought them.
Moderate Bookkeeper Register over 50% of the Compendium. |
||
See Thorough Bookkeeper.
Bond Maniac Max out 10 Social Links. |
||
Social Butterfly. | ||
Advantage Mine Enter a battle with Player Advantage. |
||
For this trophy, you need to hit an enemy with / from behind. If done correctly, a message called “Player Advantage” will appear at the start of the battle. You can do this in Tartarus on any floor.
The Nose Doesn’t Always Know Experience a fusion accident. |
||
Fusion accidents will happen randomly when you fuse Persona. It does not matter what kind of fusion you do. You know you got a fusion accident when the screen shakes red when doing a fusion. What happens is that you will get a different Persona and not the Persona you wanted. You will get this trophy automatically when going for Thorough Bookkeeper.
Displaying Adaptability Switch Personas 5 times in 1 battle. |
||
Once you have two or more Personas, you can switch between them in a battle. For this just select the “Persona” option during a battle and select a persona, then after one round, you can choose the “Persona” option again and select another Persona. Repeat this until you have this trophy. If you are about to kill the enemy before you switched five times, choose “Defense” after switching to another Persona, this way you don’t kill the enemy.
Going Nova Deal over 999 damage in 1 attack. |
||
You will get this trophy automatically while beating Elizabeth/Theodore for A Cut Above, because you will have to use “Armageddon” which deals 9999 damage.
Skilled Commander Perform 50 All-Out Attacks. |
||
To trigger an All-out Attack you need more than one character in your party. Furthermore, all enemies on the battlefield must be knocked down in order to trigger the All-out Attack command. To knock them down, hit them with a critical attack or an element of their weakness. Once all enemies are downed you will get a prompt to trigger an All-Out attack. Confirm it with / . You will get this naturally during your first playthrough. The enemies do not have to die from this attack.
Tactical Fighter Exploit enemy weaknesses 100 times. |
||
For this trophy, you just need to hit an enemy with their weakness 100 times. You can attack the same enemy multiple times if he does not die from one attack. Inside a battle choose, “Analyze” if you don’t know what the enemy’s weakness is.
Grasping at Greed Defeat a Golden Hand. |
||
A Golden Hand randomly appears on all floors in Tartarus. You must approach it from directly behind in order to fight against it or else it will disappear.
Fashion Plate Fight a battle in costume. |
||
Costumes can be bought from the Police Station in Paulownia Mall or can be found on chests inside the Tartarus on any floor. Once you have a piece of a costume, equip it and enter a battle inside Tartarus. Trophy pops after the battle. You will get W. Outfit for Mitsuru as a reward for Request 12, equip it for her, and do 1 fight with it.
Head of the Class Rank #1 in your class on an exam. |
||
There are multiple exams throughout the game, you need to answer all questions during an exam correctly, and your Academics rank needs to be “Genius” (highest rank) for the trophy to pop.
Follow one of these walkthroughs to get this along the way: |
||
Special Fusion Expert Use 4 or more Personas in a special fusion. |
||
You unlock the ability to do Quad Fusion on 9/18. From this day on you can do a Quad Fusion inside the Velvet Room. Quad Fusions are pre-selected fusions where you only can create selected Persona. You unlock this trophy while going for Thorough Bookkeeper. |
Rin says
Thanks for the awesome guide! I’ve never played the original P3P so I can’t wait to play this one. A bit unfortunate that two of the trophies are glitched atm though.
korewadevil says
Thank you so much, hope the two achievements get patched quickly.
Angel says
But, if the trophies are glitched how were they obtained by those 0.1% people?!?!
HardyBoy says
I messaged the guy with the plat and see what information he can give me. They are bugged for sure, so maybe the guy with the plat got lucky.
Lava says
Awesome that was quick! I’m playing with the female MC first as I am so curious about the SLs. .
I can’t believe of all trophies the max all social links one is bugged, as that seems like the hardest and most time consuming trophy of the bunch. That sucks, did you manage to get it to pop at all from reloading? if not I hope they fix it.
Regarding difficulty, is 6/10 a bit too steep? Especially considering 4 golden and P5 are only a 3/10, and this game doesn’t have anything like goldens hardcore ristette or P5 vanilla’s Futaba’s lines trophy, it looks like a pretty standard list to me especially since it can be done on the lowest difficulty.
HardyBoy says
Maxing all S-links really isn’t hard, especially with a guide. And apparently, the trophies are obtainable. seems like you “just” have to get lucky. Anyway, the trophy did not pop for me in 6 playthroughs.
About difficulty. For me, the game is a 3/10. But I rated the difficulty as of I were a completely new player. I’m sure many people will have problems with Elizabeth/Theodore and Margaret. Although I hope my guides help in that regard.
Brooke says
Does anyone have a guide for ranking all social links?
Lee says
Just bought and downloaded this yesterday. Knew I could count on you and your review advance copy. I played this originally on PSP so no trophies. I’ll wait until you say the bugged trophies are fixed before I start. Thanks, PP.
Rin says
Yep, that’s what I’m probably gonna do as well. Don’t wanna deal with bugged trophies.
arymneto says
Is there a P4 Golden trophy guide?
HardyBoy says
Unfortunately there won’t be a guide anytime soon, because it’s too time-consuming at the moment.
Rin says
There is a newer version on playstationtrophies.org if you want to check that one out.
Lava says
There is a platinum walkthrough on PSN Profiles. I used that to platinum the vita version and it worked like a charm.
AvocadoBro says
Looking at the first platinum achievers trophy times we can atleast see that the max all social links is suppose to unlock from just doing it with one character so there’s that atleast. I hope Atlus patches the bugged trophies soon and are atleast aware of this, great guide by the way just sucks about the glitched trophies!
Kasyn says
Is there a place or website we can report Sega/Atlus for those 2 bugged trophies?
Brooke says
I was thinking the same thing, I tried googling it but I couldn’t find anything
Yinyangfooey says
Hi, I’m the guy who got the platinum trophy. Some people have asked me about the glitched trophies, and the only thing I can think of is that the game is glitched on PS5 backwards compat, but I played it on my PS4 as I was away from my PS5 over the holidays.
If that isn’t the issue, then honestly I don’t know.
Brooke says
Do you have a guide for maxing all social links ?
Angel says
Regarding the “Beat the game with both protagonists” did it unlock for you with both players playing in NG or you can play NG with male and NG+ with female?
Sekai says
Thanks for the guide. Can you confirm that downloading your save on your PS4 unlocks the trophies that were bugged on PS5?
Also thanks to Yinyangfooey for the tip
Angel says
I just got the “Social Butterfly” trophy on PS5!
So, not sure why/ how the trophies are bugged.
Brooke says
I think the maxing all social links trophy is for both playthroughs because not all characters are available for 1 playthrough, for example, koromaru social link is only available with the female, so my guess is you have to do both playthroughs but I could be wrong
Angel says
It is not, I just got all S.Links trophy for the FemC on NG after getting the 22 S.links.
Brooke says
I didn’t think each character had 22 social links. Did you use a guide?
yip says
Is being tired/fatigued something to worry about?
Lava says
It affects you characters battle performance, for party members if they are tired or sick, they won’t enter tartarus again until they recover. You can also prolong tiredness and get sick for the MC, so that you can get medicine which boosts your courage.
Amity says
Any update on when Female protag is coming?
soraguns says
Got the social butterfly on my first playthrough so it looks like you don’t need to do social links with each character. I did it with male MC
Peri says
Can you confirm whether you received this trophy while playing on the PS4 or PS5? Thanks!
soraguns says
I got the trophy on a PS5
Leon says
That’s good to know. Did you also happen to get the trophy for beating the game with each protagonist or are you still working on that one? I’m still hesitant on trying to go for P3P’s plat ever since I heard about the two bugged trophies.
Robo says
So I’m playing through the game and so far this day-to-day guide has been amazing, but I have a problem. On 5/7, it says to begin Chihiro’s S-Link, but I can’t? I’ve looked it up, and you can apparently only begin her S-Link as early as 5/28. What should I do here?
P5078 says
Can I fight the velvet room siblings on the lowest difficulty and still get the trophies?
Leon says
Yes, there are no difficulty-related trophies.
Yuri says
I bet that the problem with social butterfly is that most people are going to do the MALE playthrough first instead of the female, i don’t think that anyone that has the trophy got it doing the male version yet
Now the pair of wild cards is a tricky one, i’ve seen people relating that you actually have to complete both of the playthroughs with all the social links maxxed out
also i don’t think that Atlus is going to patch this lol
Jagmantis says
just got social butterfly as male MC, first playthrough
Leon says
Any news on the FeMC walkthrough? I noticed that it’s no longer “Coming Soon”.
Ocelot__Shadow says
I have the exact same question, it’s the only thing holding me back from starting the game tbh since I’m going for platinum
Jagmantis says
Social Butterfly worked for me on PS5. First playthrough, Male MC, and my last S. Link to max was Mitsuru on 1/30.
Jagmantis says
If anyone is curious, it is NOT required to have both Male and Female Orpheus for 100% Compendium.
Holly says
Thanks gor this. I’m on my NG+ playthrough and my compendium is stuck at 99%. I’ve looked at a complete compendium list twice and can’t figure out why.
Depressed says
What happens if I put the fights on the easiest difficulty? Is it still a challenge? Or do you have it easy and without problems? It is good to know this information.
I still don’t know if they have also fixed the bug with the trophies, I only have a ps4
Kasyn says
Hey guys, you can report these 2 trophy bugs here!
bit.ly/3yM1BQG (*link shortened by moderator)
They told me that they havent receive any reports of these trophy bugs.
So please report using the link.
