Persona 3 Portable Reaper Boss Guide

January 19, 2023 by HardyBoy Leave a Comment

In Persona 3 Portable you must defeat the Reaper boss for The Reaper Becomes the Reaped trophy and achievement. This is also required for Request 53 from Elizabeth/Theodore in order to get Request 55 which is needed to fight Elizabeth/Theodore. You can fight against the Reaper on any floor inside Tartarus or Monad Depths (the Heaven’s door). You just need to stand still and after some time (can take up to 10 minutes), the Reaper will spawn. You will also get a quote from Mitsuru or Fuuka warning you that he spawned. Once he spawned, he will come automatically to you. It is recommended to be at least Level 65 or higher, or else he will most likely kill you with 1 attack.

This is what he looks like:

There are two ways to defeat the Reaper.

Option 1: Use the Armageddon Fusion Spell

The Armageddon  Fusion Spell can be obtained from the Shinshoudo Antiques Shop in Paulownia Mall. This shop is available from 6/9 on. The Armageddon Spell is very expensive, it costs x99 Malachite and x10 Ruby to get one Armageddon Spell. You can find those items inside the Tartarus. The Ruby Item is quite rare though. The Armageddon Fusion Spell deals 9999 Damage guaranteed to all enemies.  But you can also get it from the Hanged Man door inside the Paradigm Door (available from 1/1). During the fight, you need to let the Hanged Man spawn a Maya and cause an explosion. Now just finish the fight and you will get an Armageddon Fusion Spell. Once you have the Armageddon Spell start the fight against the Reaper, go to Items, and select it. The fight will be instantly over and the trophy is yours.

Option 2: Fight against him normally

If you don’t want to waste the Armageddon Fusion Spell, you can also fight against him normally. But again, it is highly recommended that you and your party member are at least level 65 or even higher. Otherwise, you will get killed almost instantly. What you want to use here is a Persona like Odin to use Thunder Reign or Ragnarok. If you use Odin make sure he keeps Elec Amp as well as Elec Boost which makes Thunder Reign or Ragnarok even stronger. Then use at least one of your Party Members to lower his defense. If the Reaper gets knocked down you can also use an All-Out attack to deal some extra damage. But don’t do two All-Out attacks in a row, or else he will instantly kill you. So once you got Odin or any Persona with Thunder Reign and your Party Members’ level are high enough, start the fight with your Main Character > use Thunder Reign / Ragnarok > with one of your Party Members use any skill/item to lower the Reapers defense and the other two party members can attack him. The Reaper has 9999 Life Points.
