Memories in the Blade is a Myth (Side Quest) in Nioh 3. This walkthrough will show you where to find the 3 Hidden Sword Locations to finish Memories in the Blade myth.

Starting Location: Memories in the Blade
Starts automatically after Main Mission: Sacred Mountain Defiled, after defeating the boss “Great Tengu” (first mission in Main Region 2: Heian).
Afterward, speak with the blacksmith in the Eternal Rift (press 
on world map to travel there). She will tell you of 3 hidden swords you need to find for her.
Find the famed blades hidden in Heian-Kyo and bring them to the blacksmith (x3)
The rest of the quest consists of finding 3 hidden blades (swords) in Heian. Normally, the blacksmith will mark one at a time for you. Then you bring the sword to her and she marks the next one. However, the quest markers are known to bug out for some players, this happens when you close the game, then the quest markers might disappear. If the markers show up for you, then you can track the quest from the progress menu and the hidden blades will be marked. If not, you can find the locations below.
Hidden Blade 1 Location
Location: Heian > Hachijo region
In the north-west corner of Hachijo, use the spirit vein to reach a temple on the cliffs. Go behind the temple and interact with the grave at the edge of the cliffs to get the first hidden blade “Dojikiri Yasutsuna“.
Bring it back to the blacksmith and she’ll mark the next location.
Hidden Blade 2 Location
Location: Heian > Sagano region
In the west of Sagano region, enter the Matsuo-taisha Shrine complex. From the second shrine in this area “Matsuo-taisha Shrine: Ascetic Cave”, move toward the big plaza in the center. On the right side you can cut through bamboo to enter a hidden path, then exit through the opening on the left to jump to the roof of the house. In the rooftop is a hole, drop through to reach a chest inside the house that contains the second blade “Mikazuki Munechika“.
Bring it back to the blacksmith and she’ll mark the last blade.
Hidden Blade 3 Location
Location: Heian > Palace Grounds
This blade is only available during Main Mission: “Frozen City, Blazing Tree” (inside the crucible in the middle of Heian). You get this mission automatically after doing the other main missions in Heian where you repair the 3 seals around the map. You can replay the mission at any time via the “Battle Scroll” at shrines, so it’s not missable.
Play through the crucible until you reach the shrine “Palace Grounds: Shunka Gate”. To the left of this shrine go up the slope and enter the first house on the left. Open the chest in this house to get the last blade “Odenta Mitsuyo“.
Now return to the blacksmith one last time and deliver the sword to finish the quest. You also unlock 
Senji Toyo trophy/achievement for completing the blacksmith’s questline.
This finishes Memories in the Blade Myth in Nioh 3.

This quest has a bug in it with the second sword in Kyo. Sometimes, the chest will never mark itself as looted and you can’t turn in the quest.

This chest does not mark itself on the map. Not before do you pick the sword up or after.

For this quest, as soon as you pick up the sword, go back to the blacksmith and turn it in. To do that each and every time you pick up each sword and there should be no bugs. I have turned my console on and off without a problem completing this quest. The only thing I do though, is when I pick up a sword.I immediately go turn it into blacksmith.

The quest won’t even appear for me. I’ve beat the Great Tengu boss in the main story and I even went back to replay it to see if it could force trigger or not. It did not. What a mess.

My quest is bugged. I figured I can replay the quest so long as I do main quest. However, thats not the case. I have completed the main quest in the Palace area. I have no clue why they don’t have at least one actual fast travel point in each little area so you can go back without having to replay a mission.
Basically, I did the main story quest but not the memories of the hidden blade. Ie I did not find the last hidden blade before killing the boss in the crucible in the Palace area. So now…. I am locked out of the palace area and unable to get in the palace area to get the last blade. Thus preventing me from completing the memories of the hidden blade quest and as a result unable to replay the quest to get into the Palace area lmao…
one of the dumbest things nioh 3 has done imo. replayable quests should be tied to main story quest being completed in an area if youre not going to have fast travels and lock them being replayable missions. I almost had similar situation on first map but missed collectibles not a side quest. Stupid now I cant complete the quest and get rewards due to being locked out of the area. Just going to focus the third map and beat the game and be done with it. Was going to replay but i like completing all quests and this puts a damper on the experience.

You can re-enter that area via Battle Scrolls and get the sword with no issue. It’s even mentioned in the article “You can replay the mission at any time via the “Battle Scroll” at shrines, so it’s not missable.”
